We are about to enter the time period of the Day of the Lord, the time when the crowned King for all the ages will take control of the earth and humankind. We have no small amount of confusion regarding this day as different groups believe in many different scenarios. Too many cooks spoil the broth, as they say. The Bible gives us the plans. They are not a secret to the enemy, but they are a secret to many people. As we start to explore the Day of the Lord, the day Jesus comes to earth with his armies to imprison the satan and his followers, we want to keep our timing straight. The harpazo triggered the start of the first three and one half years of chaos. Then the second three and one half years wraps up with the destruction of the system of Babylon as well as much of the wild beasts land. The wild beast will head towards Megiddo to make war with the Lamb and His armies. Those dwelling in uninhabitable places will join in under the leadership of the wild beast. Apollyon/Abaddon/Gog is the destroyer who is loosed from the bottomless pit to indwell the wild beast.
We need to take the time to ponder the system of Babylon. Everything we know and everything we experience, as well as four thousand years of history, have all been influenced by Babylon. We should be aware that there are many social movements, sometimes opposing ones, which try to use the courts of public opinion to change the culture. Once a majority come to believe a certain way we then change laws to accommodate the social spell many fall under. Our churches are run under Babylon, our schools are run under Babylon, our health care and governments are run under Babylon, and our social societies are run under Babylon. We simply don’t know anything different. If we make the time to meditate on the first man, the adam, we may start to see what humankind was supposed to be like. Living in the garden, walking with Yahweh in the cool of the day; no war, no infighting, no hardship. It wasn’t until the adam and his wife were sent out of the garden that he then had to work with hard labor and sweat because the ground became cursed. That early time was the ideal, but under the ruler of this age we have changed so drastically from the original adam, we cannot imagine our world differently. We long for a better world but there is no way to unravel this web until the ruler of the age is deposed. The good news is that the plan for change has all been laid out for us and in the twinkling of an eye, the harpazo, the process will start.
All those in heaven are rejoicing in the destruction of the Babylon Emporium, the nursery that told us what was acceptable to think, what was acceptable to feel, and what was acceptable to do, all apart from our Creator. The system of self sufficiency is finished. We are also going to see that the old city of Babylon will be destroyed as well on the Day of the Lord. We have to keep these two Babylon’s straight when we study. The wild beast incinerates the Babylon emporium, the center of commerce which is located in a sea port. The wild beast also took over the territory of the old city of Babylon in modern day Iraq. But the wild beast will not destroy his territory, he will destroy the system of Babylon and the port of commercial trade. Soon after that, the Day of the Lord will commence and the armies of the Living God will destroy the old city of Babylon which is under the wild beasts rule. Starting in Revelation 19, the sons of the Most High are rejoicing over the incineration of the system of Babylon.

Kuirous Theos Pantokratōr basileuō, our Lord God Almighty reigns as King. Jesus reigns as King from age to age and who will reign with him? We may have made too much out of the ancient Jewish wedding ceremony which has caused us to not look at everything in it’s context. Jesus was crowned in Revelation 11. Now the eradication of the governor of this age is about to come, and the King will reign with others on the earth. Haven’t we understood that we are kings and priests as well? Remember we studied this in Revelation 1 and 5. The Lamb’s wife is/are kings and priests and the kings and priests have prepared themselves. We love to give such colorful stories of the bride of Christ; we forget that it is not a literal bride, it is a marriage of many men and women to Christ. A marriage is a union, an alliance, a fusion, a mix, an amalgamation, or a merger. This wedding of the Lamb is an amalgamation of Jesus and those who are His kings and priests.

They trained themselves in right actions. This is a hard thing to do under Babylon. All Christians are persecuted, which is why there is blood on Babylon’s hands. Yet these kings and priests persevered under pressure to make themselves ready. Are there people who are redeemed who did not prepare? Yes. This means some people will not be part of this union. The people who are going to be merged and united with the Lamb are given a radiant and spotless robe made from linen or flax. It is a symbol of restoration where His bride is legally acquitted from her sin. We all have sin. We are born in sin. We are slaves to sin under the rule of Babylon. There is no temple, so humans cannot atone for their sins themselves. Jesus is the only atonement available. Yet now those who have prepared are given a robe showing restoration, they are rendered righteous. This angel has the testimony of Jesus and then tells us that the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy. To give someone the testimony of Jesus as the Christ, one would have the Spirit of Prophecy.
The Day of the Lord is about to start. The saints are not on the earth, they have been redeemed and are in heaven. The martyrs are also in heaven. The 144,000 are in heaven as well. The system of Babylon has been destroyed, and there may be, at best, one billion people left on the earth following the wild beast along with about 4 million Jews. Most of the people of the earth are living in uninhabitable places, and they all head toward Megiddo. They want to make war with the Lamb and his holy ones. Isaiah saw this time period. People have always confused this time, but now that we have reached this point in Revelation we can better understand what the prophets were saying regarding the Day of the Lord.
The city of old Babylon will be eradicated by the armies of the Lord. This is not the destruction of the new city of Babylon on a sea port, when the wild beast kills Babylon. Isaiah is talking about the old city of Babylon, the one in modern day Iraq.

Kurios Sabaōth/Lord of the Armies/Yahweh Tsâbâ’. The word sabaōth/tsâbâ’ is a feminine plural. This is the Lord’s armies, which is His bride. Yahweh gave charge to an ethnos, a race or nation of armed warriors. Yahweh and his armed warriors come from out of the foundation of heaven to ruin Babylon and the world.
Isaiah sees the destruction of the old, literal, Babylon. He hears the voices of many nations upon the mountains. Giants come to fill the Lord’s rage. We know who the giants are, but it is strange that they come to war with the Lord until we remember what Enoch wrote us. The night sky is dark. The morning is dark. People will be scared and disorientated.

The people left on the earth will be more rare than natural gold and stones. We know that there will be people left, as Jesus told us. They will be gathered at the end of this day to inhabit Jerusalem. Also as Jesus told us, the heirs of Jacob will be gathered from the ends of heaven and earth to inhabit Israel. This is when Moses’ prophecy will be fulfilled, when the Lord brings His people back.

We might not catch this, but when Isaiah says he will bring the Medes against Babylon, it is important to put this in the proper time frame. Iraq and Iran are both politically Shia controlled today. At this time, at the end of the tribulation, the wild beast has taken over Babylon, forcing everyone to take the mark of the double sword. The understanding is that there are still people who do not love the wild beast and his kingdom; they will have no need of silver or gold. They will come to fight to take back their land. These people will get there before the armies of the Lord. Babylon will be eradicated like Sodom and Gomorrah. No one will ever live there again. It will become a desert place for demons.

All strange evil creatures and demons will live in the old city of Babylon, and no one will pass through it. This desert haunt takes place during the millennial reign. Notice that no one shall enter into it through many generations, into the ages. No one lives in Sodom and Gomorrah today, it is a wasteland near the Dead Sea. Babylon will look the way Sodom and Gomorrah looks today.
Isaiah tells us that the inhabitable world will become desolate. Remember that during the bowl judgments, parts of the world became uninhabitable. Now whatever is inhabitable will become desolate. Everything will become mixed up. People will be mixed up.

All the roles that people have had in the past now become reversed. The earth will be plundered and corrupted. The earth mourns, but remember what Paul told us in Romans, the earth is travailing until the revealing of the sons of the Living God, the earth will be restored soon.

People bartered away the eternal covenant. This is why the tribulation takes place. Self-sufficiency and riches have ceased. The system of the Babylon Emporium is fallen. There is no more wine and music. Cities have become desolate and people have left them behind. People will abandon their homes and others will destroy them.

Jesus told us about those who would be left on the earth. The sea will be stirred up and the Glory of the Lord will be among the islands and the name of the Lord will be honored.

People cannot escape the Day of the Lord, the one’s who violated the law will fall into the pit. If someone tried to climb out of the pit they would be caught by a snare. The windows of heaven are open and the foundations of the earth are shaken.

The earth will pitch and lean as if it were drunk, all due to the lawlessness on the earth. God’s hand comes against the cosmos and against the kings of the earth. On the Day of the Lord the kings of the earth will be gathered together, locked in a fortress, and thrown in prison for many generations.

Bricks will be liquified and walls will fall. The moon will turn around or invert and the sun will be made ashamed. Why will the sun be ashamed and the moon be remorseful? Because they have been under the rulership of the governor of this age, the satan, until this point in time. Now Yahweh will reign as king in Zion. Yahweh will reign out of Jerusalem. Yahweh will be glorified before the elders. Isaiah goes on to praise Yahweh.

The Lord knows how to break the wicked cities and protect the humble cities. Yahweh will deliver the people in Zion from wicked men. Isaiah continues to praise Yahweh.

Jesus said he would not drink of the fruit of the vine until he drinks it with us in the kingdom of God. This is the day. The Lord of the armies shall make a feast for all the nations and they will drink wine in gladness.
Isaiah 25:7 G5548 They shall anoint G3464 with a perfumed liquid G1722 on G3588 G3735 this mountain. G3778 G3860 You deliver G3778 all these things G3956 G3588 to the G1484 nations, G3588 G1063 for G1012 this plan G3778 G1909 is for G3956 all G3588 the G1484 nations.
The nations will anoint mount Zion with myrrh. This is the plan for all nations. This is when death will be swallowed up in victory (I Corinthians 15).

Death is consumed in strength. Jesus has the keys, and this will be the day that there is no more death. Yahweh will wipe tears from every face (2 Timothy 1). Then the Jews will finally rejoice, as Isaiah continues.

We have to notice the tone of Isaiah’s prophecy. He is giving us the good news and giving those who are grieved hope for the future. No more death and no more tears. This is for all the nations.
The people will sing a song on the Day of the Lord. This is part of the song they will sing. The dead will rise, those on the earth shall be glad. Really?

This song that Isaiah says will be sung tells us that the dead will rise and those on earth will be glad. The dew is a cure to these people. The ungodly will then fall. Those raised from the dead are told to then enter into their inner chambers and lock the door. They are to stay concealed for a little while until the anger of the Lord passes. What does this mean? The redeemed are risen, harpazo’d, then they stay concealed from the earth until the seals, trumpets, and bowls are finished. The song goes on to say that the Lord’s anger comes out of the holy place upon the ones dwelling on the earth. The earth will uncover her blood, and will not cover up the dead any more. It is interesting that this song speaks of the harpazo, and then explains the tribulation time on the earth while the saints stay hidden.
We can not make sense of the old testament prophecies of the Day of the Lord until we study the book of Revelation. Once we have a timeline of events we can make sense of what the prophets were saying. The Day of the Lord is not a “fun” day yet many people get giddy over the idea that the wicked will be punished. Yes the wicked will be punished and the saints will have a part to play in the Day of the Lord. The Bride of Christ will have some great abilities. We will study more of the prophecies of the Day of the Lord and compare them to the Book of Revelation.
