Argo and the Other Sheep; Jesus and the Argo-nauts; the Heroes Brought Home; Ransomed Diversity

The story of the Day of Redemption was written in the heavens over 6000 years ago, but rarely does anyone understand it today. As the Laodicean church age in the United States, most people are unwilling to utilize all the resources we have available to us to research and study the Bible, and we miss this great story of hope. It was given to us so that we would not misunderstand the times and we could be encouraged through hard times. It is a story of heroes, a story of diversity, a story of redemption and a story of the harpazo. There are many many aspects to the harpazo and we have studied most of them over the last few years. We want to utilize all that past knowledge and apply it to this story of Argo, the ship that takes the redeemed home. Under the constellation of Cancer there are three decans. Among these decans are included two sheep folds, Ursa Major and Ursa Minor. The entire picture tells us of the flocks secured and separated in the pen as the shepherd keeps watch, knowing who his sheep are. Then the ship comes to take His sheep home. After Argo leaves with the weary travelers, earth enters the age or the time of the Lion of the tribe of Judah who comes to destroy the enemy. The last four major constellations, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, and Leo, are the stories of the redeemed in the last days before the Millennial Kingdom and through the Millennial Kingdom. The story written in the heavens is one the devil cannot erase.

In the days before Jesus came, the gospel story was written in the heavens and many people looked forward to the coming Messiah. They told stories and used the ideas in the constellations to help spread the news that a Messiah was going to redeem mankind. When Jesus came, his fame was spread abroad and those alive at the time who heard those stories from the constellations knew that Jesus was the Messiah. However, the religious leaders did not embrace Jesus and this led to their own destruction for not knowing the hour of His visitation. But many peoples from many different nations heard about Jesus and believed, they were redeemed. We sometimes narrow our thinking to Israel proper and forget that the Eastern Magi were from Babylon/Assyria (the people were in the nation of Babylon when they learned the stars from Daniel, but later Babylon was taken over by Assyria). When the Magi began their journey with their households and went to Judea, there were so many people in the Magi’s party that the Judeans thought they were under siege. Those Magi and all their people went back east after seeing the new born king. Incidentally, they found the child Jesus in Nazareth, and that is where Joseph and Mary left from to go into Egypt. It is quite possible that when the Magi returned to Assyria that the news of a Messiah who was born in Bethlehem spread. Remember that these people knew how to read the heavenly gospel. They also had the Septuagint and could put it all together. How far could the news of the Messiah’s arrival have spread? Did it reach what we know as the Slavic nations? Did the news reach the British Isles? Did the people of India and China hear about the Messiah’s arrival?

We have to remember that many people other than the devout Jews believed that Jesus was the Messiah. The Samarians believed and did not want him to leave their area of Israel, this is exciting. We know that after Jesus’ death and resurrection that Phillip shared the news with an Ethiopian man who was specifically sent to find out about Jesus. I’m sure that when he went back to Ethiopia he shared all about Jesus and the events of Pentecost. We somehow think that no one else in the world knew a Messiah was coming and also think no one else ever believed Jesus was the Messiah, but that was not true. Jesus made a statement to his disciples that we have to look at as Jesus is opening the sheepfold for the redeemed.

John 10:16 You need to know that I have other sheep in addition to those in this pen. I need to gather and bring them, too. They'll also recognize my voice. Then it will be one flock, one Shepherd.  (from THE MESSAGE: The Bible in Contemporary Language © 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson. All rights reserved.)

Jesus needs to gather His sheep, his other sheep, into His pen. He will be the only shepherd. The prophecy of Ezekiel says the same thing, Yahweh will set up the sheepfold.

Ezek 34:22-25 Therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle.23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.24 And I the Lord [Yahweh] will be their God [Elohim], and my servant David a prince among them; I the Lord [Yahweh] have spoken it.25 And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods. KJV

We have studied the sheepfold before. We are going to go a bit further to understand the story of Argo and the redeemed. Jesus said he had other sheep. Where were they? Obviously not in Israel. Who does the gathering? Jesus. This is important because while we humans evangelize the unsaved, Jesus is the one who gathers the sheep. Today we hear of stories of Jesus meeting with people in closed countries places where Bibles are not allowed and Christians are not allowed to preach. Surely, it is miraculous that people are becoming redeemed by meeting with Jesus and then sharing their stories with others. Also, we need to keep in mind that it is not our job to force salvation on anyone because the sheep hear Jesus’ voice. While we may have great programs for winning the lost, we also have to allow Jesus to call the sheep. When the people come into the fold or pen, the people become one flock. There is no longer Jew and non-Jew, male or female, bond or free, we are all one in Christ. One flock. One group who will, during the kingdom of God, live in safety.

EW Bullinger notes the significance of Argo citing Aratus’ poem Phaenomena. Aratus lived around 300 BC, about the same time the Septuagint was commissioned and scribed.  Bullinger adds scripture reference to Aratus’ poem. Note, Jason is another name for Jesus. Later Bullinger mentions the misunderstanding of the largeness of this constellation. Modern day astronomers have split Argo into three constellations but Ptolemy lists it as one (300 BC era). It is and should be one constellation, hence Bullingers frustration.
ARATUS sings of Argo:
"Stern-foremost hauled ; no mark of onward-speeding- ship. Sternward she comes, as vessels do When sailors turn the helm On entering harbour: all the oars back-water, And gliding- backward, to an anchor comes. "
It tells of that blessed home-coming, when---
"The ransomed of the LORD shall return And come to Zion with songs, And everlasting joy upon their heads; They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away." (Isa. xxxv. 10.)
It tells of the glorious Jason,* (The Greco-Judean equivalent of Joshua or Jesus) of whom it is asked:
"Art thou not it which hath cut Rahab, And wounded the dragon ? Art thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; That hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over ? Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, And come with singing unto Zion," etc. (Isa. li. 9-11.)
"For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, And ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he. Therefore they shall come and sing- in the height of Zion, And shall flow tog-ether to the goodness of the LORD." (Jer. xxxi. u, 12.)

This is the return of the great emigrant-ship (Argo) and all its company of travellers (for this is the meaning of the word Argo}.
In Kircher’s Egyptian Planisphere Argo is represented by two galleys (as we have two sheepfolds), whose prows are surmounted by rams heads ; and the stern of one of them ends in a fish s tail. One of the two occupies four segments of the sphere (from Taurus to Virgo), while the other occupies the four from Leo to Capricorn. One half of the southern meridians is occupied with these galleys and their construction and decorations. Astronomers tell us that they carry us back, the one to the period when the Bull opened the year (to which time VIRGIL refers); and the other to the same epoch, when the summer solstice was in Leo " an era greatly antecedent to the Argonautic expedition. How else, they ask, do we account for the one ship having her prow in the first Decan of Taurus, and her poop in the last Decan of Leo ? or for one galley being freighted with the installed Bull, and the other with the sol stitial Lion? 1 * (Jainieson’s Scientific Display, &c. . p. 58. )
These are the words of an astronomer who knows nothing whatever of our interpretation of the heavens which is set forth in this work.
It will indeed be a large vessel, the true Argo, with its company of travellers, "a great multitude which no man can number." All this is indicated by the immense size of the Constellation, as well as by the large number of its stars. There are 64 stars in Argo (reckoning by the Britannic catalogue) ; one of the 1st magnitude, six of the 2nd, nine of the 3rd, nine of the 4th, etc. Only a small part of the ship’s poop is visible in Britain.
Its brightest star, a (near the keel), is called Canopus or Canobus, which means the possession of Him who cometh. Other star-names, not identified, are Sephina, the multitude or abundance; Tureis, the possession; Asmidiska, the released who travel; Soheil (Arabic), the desired; and Subilon, the Branch.
Is not all this exactly in harmony with the rest of this sign? And is not this what is written in the Book?
" Therefore, fear thou not, O My servant Jacob, saith the LORD; Neither be dismayed, O Israel : For, lo, I will save thee from afar, And thy seed from the land of their -captivity; And Jacob shall return and be in rest, And be quiet, and none shall make him afraid, For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee." (Jer. xxx. 10, H.)
" Lift up thine eyes round about, and see ; All they gather themselves together, they come to thee; Thy sons shall come from far, And thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side, Then thou shalt see, and flow together, And thine heart shall fear and be enlarged ; Because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee. . . .
Who are these that fly as a cloud? And as doves to their windows ? Surely the isles shall wait for me, And the SHIPS of Tarshish first, to bring- thy sons from far." (Isa. Ix. 4, 5, 8, 9.)

The whole chapter (Isa. Ix.) should be read if we wish to understand the great teaching of this Sign, which tells of Messiah’s secured possessions, the safe folding of His blood-bought flock, the blessed return of His pilgrims, and their abundant entrance into everlasting rest.

Argo, the ship that carries the weary travelers’ home is the harpazo, the day Jesus calls from the clouds for the redeemed. The reason Argo spans such a large area is that travelers from all over the world are gathered. We have to understand the enormity of this idea. It is not simply about one little piece of land, Israel, it is about the entire world. The living and dead are called and gathered, the dead rising first and the living joining the party on the way to heaven. This huge constellation has been ignored and the devil has attempted to hide its meaning. This is not new knowledge, it is knowledge that has been hidden. The ancients looked into the sky believing the Messiah would come and then one day bring the redeemed home.

Joseph Seiss gives a more prophetic understanding of the Greek myth of Jason/Jesus, he also mentions Homer. Remember that Homer lived about 850 BCE or possibly as far back as 1102 BCE, so we must understand time and a timeline here. These stories were told long before Jesus came to earth. The story of Jason and the Argonauts may date back to the time of Solomon. Solomon wrote of the coming Savior, so we have to understand that the ancient world was looking for a savior because it was written in the heavens. As we have studied, these are the redeemed of the Old Testament, one of the two branches of Pisces. The redeemed of the New Testament are still increasing until the day the dead in Christ rise first, and the living join them in the air. The travelers are gathered together and taken home.
Argo.
And to make this the clearer, the third Decan of Cancer was framed. This is Argo the mysterious ship of the mysterious Argonauts returned from their successful expedition to recover the Golden Fleece. Since the time of Homer, and long before Homer lived, the world has been full of noise about this ship and these gods and demigods of the Argonautic Expedition. But that same world till now has been floundering about to find a key to unlock the mystery in which the story is enveloped. Many are the suggestions to explain it, but all as empty of satisfactoriness as they are beneath the importance and significance always and everywhere attached to it. The trouble is, that men have ever persisted in trying to interpret it with reference to the affairs of ordinary human history or of some wild conceits of dreaming poets; whereas it belongs to the mystic, spiritual, and prophetic ideas frescoed on the stars, and to nothing else under heaven.

Taken in these relations, and construed with the rest of these signs as we found their true application to be, we can have no difficulty. That Golden Fleece was the lost treasure of human innocence and righteousness, of which the subtlety of the Serpent had bereft man- kind in the Garden of Eden, and so held and guarded it that no mere men could ever find or recover it. In the grove of Mars, the fierce god of justice, at Colchis, the citadel of atonement, it lay, the Serpent watching it with jealous and ever- wakeful eyes. Nor was there a mortal to be found able to approach it until the true Jason, the Recoverer, the Atoner, the Healer, even Jesus, came, organized His Argo, His company of traveller's, made up of heroes under His command and leadership, and went forth through various trials, conflicts, and sufferings, helped by the holy oracles that went along, and sustained by the heavenly ointments and powers to heal the wounds and hurts that had to be encountered, and took the precious prize, and then through varied fortunes brings the heroes back victorious to his own home-shores.

And here, in the constellation of Argo, we have the picture of that return — the ship and the brave travellers come home, with the lost treasure regained, their toils and hazards and battles over, and blessed rest their lasting inheritance. Here the story fits in every part. It is the old ship of Zion landed in the heavenly port. Understand it so, and every feature takes on an evangelic light and a meaning commensurate with its fame. Nor is it possible to contemplate the vivid correspondence without wonderment at the prophetic knowledge and spiritual understanding and anticipations of those primeval sages who framed these signs and gave out their meaning.

The Names.
And what we thus read in the story of the Argonauts is confirmed by the names in the constellation itself. The brightest star in the group is Canopies or Canobns. And this is the name of the great hero and helmsman, who died from the serpent's bite, but whom the Egyptians worshipped as a divine being. The name itself means the possession of Him who cometh, and thus explains why the Egyptians represented Canobus by a great treasure-jar. Other names are also here which tell us what we are to understand. Sephina means multitudinous good, the very abundance of the seas and of treasures referred to by Moses under the sien of Issachar. Tureis means the firm possession in hand, the treasure secured. Asmidiska means the travellers released. And Soheil means what was desired.

In the Dendera Zodiac we have here the figure of a great ox enclosed, with the cross suspended from his neck, the symbol of the great possession marked with the ancient token of immortality and eternal life. And the name of this figure is Shes-en-Fent, rejoicing over the Serpent. All this expresses exactly what I have said is the great subject of Cancer.

In the Persian Zodiac we have here three young women walking at leisure, the same with the daughters of Aish, signifying the Church in its final inheritance.

Thus the whole presentation binds up and links together from all sides to fix upon the sien of Cancer and its Decans the intention to make it the recorded symbol, prophecy, and hope of the heavenly rest for the redeemed which shines so conspicuously in all the scriptural promises. It is the star-picture of the multitudinous seed of faith at length possessing the gate of the enemy, rejoicing over him in life eternal, and going forth in abundant peace and blessedness, with the Serpent's head effectually trodden beneath their feet.

A Sweet Consolation.
It is a blessed consolation to the oft-weary toilers and travellers in this world to know that there does remain a rest for the people of God. With all the trials and hardships to which they are subjected here, there is to come a blessed recompense. Jesus says : "Let not your heart be troubled; in my Father's house are many mansions. I go to prepare a place for you ; and if I go, and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am ye may be also" (John 1 4 : 1-3). Isaiah sings: "The ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads : they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away" (25 : 10). John in prophetic vision looked over into that other world, and writes: " I beheld, and lo, a great multitude which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and peoples, and tongues stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands. These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple : and He that sitteth upon the throne shall dwell among them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more ; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes" (Rev. 7:9-17); "And there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain : for the former things are passed away" (21 : 4). And even from His throne in glory the Saviour sends word to His struggling people: "To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in His throne" (Rev. 3:21). Such are the great and precious promises given to us, and such the possession to which we aspire, They are promises also that shall surely be fulfilled. God has pledged himself by His oath to make them good. They are the same that glowed in the hearts of the primeval patriarchs, who saw them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were pilgrims and strangers on the earth. On these imperishable stars they hung and pictured their confident belief and anticipations, whereby they, being dead, yet speak — speak across these many thousands of years — speak for our comfort on whom the ends of the world have come. Let us, then, be encouraged to believe as they believed, to hope as they hoped, laboring and looking for entrance into that same holy rest, even the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The stories of the ancient world looked to the Day of Redemption as a ship coming to take the heroes home after many hardships and trials. The redeemed heroes go to a place of rest and to receive their inheritance. But we haven’t quite understood who these redeemed heroes are. These are people who come from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation. These are the people, the sheep, Jesus is going to call and bring to the pen.

When we look at the gathered in heaven, we notice something important. They are all there at the same time watching and waiting for the lamb to open the first seal. We have studied the mistranslation regarding Revelation 5 previously and noted that depending on the translators beliefs this particular section was translated differently in many versions including the TR, the NA27, the Eastern and Western Aramaic, as well as the Northern Aramaic. It is important for us to know this study as it will explain the “strike trough’s” I included in the verse below.

The big picture we want to explore is who are these people from every kindred, tongue, people, and nation? Why are they all in heaven singing about being kings and priests? Why are they singing about being redeemed by Jesus’ blood? We have to answer the question; who can be redeemed? Can angels be redeemed? No. Can Cherubim, Seraphim, or Ophanim be redeemed? No. Can beasts and elders be redeemed? No. Can demons be redeemed? No. Jesus came and shed his blood to redeem humanity, that is it. Humans are the only ones who can be redeemed. Humans are the redeemed in heaven.

Rev 5:8-10 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.9 And they that sung sing a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred [5443], and tongue [1100], and people [2992], and nation [1484];10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. KJV

NT:5443  phule (foo-lay'); from NT:5453 (compare NT:5444); an offshoot, i.e. race or clan: KJV - kindred, tribe.(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003, 2006 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

NT:1100 glossa (gloce-sah'); of uncertain affinity; the tongue; by implication, a language (specially, one naturally unacquired): KJV - tongue.(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003, 2006 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

NT:2992 laos (lah-os'); apparently a primary word; a people (in general; thus differing from NT:1218, which denotes one's own populace): KJV - people.(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003, 2006 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

NT:1484 ethnos (eth'-nos); probably from NT:1486; a race (as of the same habit), i.e. a tribe; specially, a foreign (non-Jewish) one (usually by implication, pagan):KJV - Gentile, heathen, nation, people.(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. The only one worthy to take the book and open the seals is Jesus, the Lamb of God. He redeems humans out of every race or clan. There were clans from the time of Adam up to now that are redeemed. He redeems humans from every language group. Think about how many different languages have been lost, but there are people who believe on Jesus from every one of them. He redeems people, not just one group like the Jews, human beings from everywhere. He redeems humans from every non-Jewish ethnic group. When we see a listing of words that are all similar such as these we get the understanding that he is not leaving any redeemed humans out of the picture. As long as one believes on Jesus as Messiah, Christ, Lord, that one is redeemed. By covering all the bases here, Jesus is saying (as John is scribing) it does not matter who your mother or father were, where you lived, or where you were born, nor what language you spoke. Jesus has a sheepfold filled with diverse humans. This was the contention of the Jews since before Jesus came to earth. The Jews thought themselves to be special, set apart simply by birth. That is not the case. As Jesus explains in John 10, he is making a sheepfold, not just from Israel, but from humans from other parts of the world also. The Israelites didn’t know the other sheep, they thought they would be the only ones, but they are not.

Jesus did a new thing here. He changed the dynamics of the administration they were living under. People were not subject to the Temple for worship or ritual practice, they were all included into a personal relationship with Jesus. Think about this, we do not have to go to men or a man to become acceptable to Jesus, His blood was the price he paid for us and it makes us acceptable. Jesus changed the dynamics of spiritual practice, aka the administration/dispensation/age. Jesus had the power to change how humans would worship and come to him. Humans do not have that power or authority, but all through history, we humans make up rules and practices and then say “Here God this is how I will worship you”. Rather, we should ask the question, “Jesus, how shall I worship you?” The answer is as unique as human fingerprints. Jesus changed the way we were to do things on earth. It doesn’t matter if you believe it or disagree with it, he made the changes and we can either accept them or not. His sheep hear his voice.

The interesting thing about the constellation of Argo is that it is the biggest, and broadest witness of Jesus’ goodness to humanity. No one needs a huge ship if the cargo is small and light. The reason the ship has to be so big is to accommodate the redeemed from every kindred, tongue, people, and nation. Surely the ancients understood that there would be more than just Jews on board, especially those who were not from one of the twelve tribes but knew the star gospel. Abraham had eight sons. That in itself makes for a lot of people on board. The great news is that Jesus never asks people to deny their ethnicity. Jesus does not ask people to change who they are and where they are from. Jesus doesn’t ask us to adopt old rituals and religious practices. Jesus doesn’t ask us to change our names, our hair, our clothing style, or our locations to become redeemed.

In I Corinthians 7 we miss the point when we read King James English. This section is about us being OK just as we are. We are not talking about circumcision as the technical act of circumcision, but circumcision as the comparison between Jews and non-Jews. Let’s read this in the Message as it flows better.

1 Cor 7:18-22 Were you Jewish at the time God called you? Don't try to remove the evidence. Were you non-Jewish at the time of your call? Don't become a Jew. 19 Being Jewish isn't the point. The really important thing is obeying God's call, following his commands.
20 Stay where you were when God called your name. 21 Were you a slave? Slavery is no roadblock to obeying and believing. I don't mean you're stuck and can't leave. If you have a chance at freedom, go ahead and take it. 22 I'm simply trying to point out that under your new Master you're going to experience a marvelous freedom you would never have dreamed of. On the other hand, if you were free when Christ called you, you'll experience a delightful "enslavement to God" you would never have dreamed of.
(from THE MESSAGE: The Bible in Contemporary Language © 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson. All rights reserved.)

Don’t become Jewish. Don’t become a Jew. Don’t change your name or wear silly clothes just to make others think you are something you are not. Being Jewish isn’t the point. Being Jewish isn’t necessary to get on board Argo. Being Jewish isn’t anything you need to do to be redeemed. Under Jesus’ Lordship, you do not need to change anything about yourself. However, you are free from the devil’s grip and you do not have to be subject to him or under his control. Let’s go on.

1 Cor 7:23-24 All of you, slave and free both, were once held hostage in a sinful society. Then a huge sum was paid out for your ransom. So please don't, out of old habit, slip back into being or doing what everyone else tells you. 24 Friends, stay where you were called to be. God is there. Hold the high ground with him at your side.
(from THE MESSAGE: The Bible in Contemporary Language © 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson. All rights reserved.)

Those are some very powerful ideas. We don’t have to do what others tell us, we don’t have to leave unless Jesus tells us to. We don’t have to change unless Jesus tells us to. We don’t have to listen to anyone else unless Jesus tells us to. How liberating is that? A huge sum was paid for our ransom. We are to hold the high ground with Jesus at our side. That is why Jesus used the constellation of Argo to communicate the hugeness of what he was going to do. This is why the devil has attempted to hide the meaning of Argo and attempted to dissect it.

Joseph Seiss’ prophetic message relating to Jason and the Argonauts is a message we should be telling today. The heroes who have gone through various trials are gathered onto Argo and brought home. Jesus telling us he has other sheep to bring into the pen is that same story. Jesus is the master of diversity. When we attempt to become more diverse as a culture or a church we usually fall short, but not Jesus. He wants us to stay where we were called and be the diverse population we were called to be. I hear the words of Billy Joel in the background “Don’t go changin’ to try and please me, ……I love you just the way you are”. If Argo isn’t a sweet message to the followers of Christ I don’t know what is. If you live on a farm in India, or in a city in China, or on the beach of Vanuatu, or an encampment in the desert, stay there unless Jesus tells you something different. Do not become like someone else, stay as you were when you were called. Jesus is about diversity, other sheep. We are not to become carbon copies of stereotypical religious people, we are unique individuals and we are called to worship him in our own unique way.

One more very important point is that no human has the power or authority to allow or deny passage on Argo. Not your Pastor, Minister, or Priest. No human has the ability or capability to control the ramp onto the ship. No one has the exclusive rights to the dock either. Humans have a tendency to want to make followers of themselves, but Jesus wants a diverse population. The only one who can allow or deny passage is Jesus. The only one you are exclusively accountable to is Jesus. The only one who can ransom you is Jesus. He told the Israelis’ he had other sheep, when we read that do we think they all must look like Israeli’s? The Magi didn’t look like Israeli’s. No, we do not have to look like or act like any other people group. Jesus expects a diverse group for the kingdom of Heaven and the kingdom of God. We cannot let ourselves be deceived by men or by demons or by the devil. Jesus’ other sheep are seen worshiping him in heaven as he is ready to open the seals, from every kindred, tongue, people, and nation. Diversity.

The Antithesis of Sodom and Our Misguided Judgment; Culture and Righteousness in the Kingdom; Reconciliation

Shangri-La or Shambhala is a fabled earthly paradise where people live a beautiful, harmonious existence nearly to immortality. It is the place our dreams take us. The fairy tale idea of Shangri-La, a lush earthly paradise where people live long pleasant lives, is the concept that exists in almost all cultures. It is known as Shambhala in Buddhism, the realm of harmony between man and nature. Shambhala or Shangri-La is a deep rooted yearning which all humanity desires. Love that flows through all living beings and touches our very core is the longing of all people. This is the antithesis of Sodom. While people have wished for the opportunity to get back to the Garden of Eden, a place of pure unadulterated life without sin, our reality is a stark contrast to Shangri-La. We live in a world that is slightly less evil than Sodom but far from Paradise. Our inhabited world has been polluted by some of the Sons of God, the Angels who fell, who are different than humans. Man’s very creation in the Garden is an imprinted remnant on our DNA which drives humans to seek and search for Shambhala. Made from red earth, we feel the travailing and birth pangs of earth. When multiple breaches of sin and violations entered the earth and humanity, it corrupted Eden, the Shangri-La that had been created for us. Just as the earth spins, witchcraft spins and twists us into a dizzying melody causing us to forget our place of origin.

While in our present state of earth’s rulership by satan, we will never see a complete Shangri-La, but there are glimpses of Shangri-La that we can be a part of on earth. While we live on earth we can bring those glimpses of Shangri-La to others as well. It is called the ministry of reconciliation that brings us into harmony with our creator. Many eastern religions have tried without success to form a place on earth where people would live by certain rules and practices which was to bring about Shambhala on earth. But they have never succeeded. While their original intents were well meaning, the god of this world would never allow a Paradise on earth. And because men are fallible, all people have been left with broken dreams and hearts. Remembering Sodom’s lost example, witchcraft, which is manipulation, intimidation, domination, and regularly scheduled drug and orgy parties as well as rape, we can see how evil perpetuated itself in the region. It has now infiltrated every culture and society on the earth to a lesser degree. We know the very purpose of the tribulation period is to filter and weed out those who will stand with Jesus and those who will not. However, there is a small remedy which when applied in purity, always brings humans one step closer to Shangri-La or Shambhala. This is what should be making the church look different to the non-believer. This is what people should see when they meet us. This is what the world longs for. Let’s look at what people know to be true but cannot understand.

Rom 8:22-23 All around us we observe a pregnant creation. The difficult times of pain throughout the world are simply birth pangs. But it's not only around us; it's within us. The Spirit of God is arousing us within. We're also feeling the birth pangs. 23 These sterile and barren bodies of ours are yearning for full deliverance.  (from THE MESSAGE: The Bible in Contemporary Language © 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson. All rights reserved.)
Rom 8:22-23 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. KJV

It wasn’t supposed to be this way, groaning and travailing in pain will end on the day of redemption for the redeemed. The un-saved are not redeemed and they have no hope of redemption. But Yahweh thought of all of us, all of humanity, before the foundations of the earth and we were the focus of His love. Every single one of us. Redemption is not just for a special group it is for everyone.

Eph 1:4-6 Long before he laid down earth's foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. 5 Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) 6 He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.  (from THE MESSAGE: The Bible in Contemporary Language © 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson. All rights reserved.)

Long before the foundations of the earth were formed, humanity was the focus of Yahweh’s love. We have a hard time understanding love as we humans usually have to know someone, how they behave, and if they match up to our expectations before we love them. But Yahweh loved us before we were even born. No matter if we were born rich or poor, or whether we grew up to be nice or mean, Yahweh loves us. Loves brings a harmony into our lives that connects us with our Creator, the Holy Spirit, and each other. That seems simple enough. Yahweh loved us, me, my friends, my family, and people that I know and like. But does Yahweh love people that don’t believe like I do or act like me? Does Yahweh love people with different opinions and lifestyles than me? Isn’t this what separates all Christians? Baptists from Pentecostals, Catholics from Evangelicals; we are all the Body of Christ and yet we are all fractured and splintered.

We have allowed the devil to break us up and break us down, and to twist us into many small units rather than one body of love. We have to come to some foundational understandings in order for us to unify ourselves and see those glimpses of Shangri-La on earth. We should be showing the way to Paradise and Heaven to everyone who is un-redeemed. We should be bringing the knowledge of the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God to the world. We have the words of reconciliation, that very harmony with Yahweh to share with everyone. Jesus came for sinners, not for the righteous or those who were able to keep the required works of right living. Today, no one can keep the required works of right living because there is no temple. Everyone needs Jesus to redeem them.

Matt 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous [1342], but sinners to repentance. KJV

Luke 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just [1342] persons, which need no repentance. KJV

NT:1342  dikaios (dik'-ah-yos); from NT:1349; equitable (in character or act); by implication, innocent, holy (absolutely or relatively):KJV - just, meet, right (-eous).(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. NT:1349  dike (dee'-kay); probably from NT:1166; right (as self-evident), i.e. justice (the principle, a decision, or its execution):KJV - judgment, punish, vengeance.(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Jesus came to make sinners righteous, we can all agree on this point. Therefore, if Jesus came to make us righteous and we believe he is the Messiah, we are made righteous. The words used here are innocent, holy, and just.

Rom 5:6-8 While we were yet in weakness [powerless to help ourselves], at the fitting time Christ died for (in behalf of) the ungodly. 7 Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to give his life even for an upright [1342] man, though perhaps for a noble and lovable and generous benefactor someone might even dare to die. 8 But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us. AMP

God proved His love for us. When we believe on Jesus we are now brought into right relationship with God. This is why we are saved from the wrath to come, the wrath of the Lamb and the wrath of God during the tribulation. We are saved because we are made righteous.

Rom 5:9 Therefore, since we are now justified [1344] (acquitted, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God) by Christ's blood, how much more [certain is it that] we shall be saved by Him from the indignation and wrath of God. AMP

NT:1344 dikaioo (dik-ah-yo'-o); from NT:1342; to render (i.e. show or regard as) just or innocent: KJV - free, justify (-ier), be righteous.(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003, 2006 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

We were reconciled because of Jesus, daily delivered from sins’ dominion. We don’t have to live like Sodom, we don’t have to live in Sodom either. We can live a new way, the way of those made righteous, as reconciled to the Father through the blood of Jesus.

Rom 5:10-12 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, it is much more [certain], now that we are reconciled, that we shall be saved (daily delivered from sin's dominion) through His [resurrection] life. 11 Not only so, but we also rejoice and exultingly glory in God [in His love and perfection] through our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom we have now received and enjoy [our] reconciliation. [Jer 9:24.] 12 Therefore, as sin came into the world through one man, and death as the result of sin, so death spread to all men, [no one being able to stop it or to escape its power] because all men sinned.  AMP

But sin wasn’t in the original plan, when the foundation was laid the plan was to live in Eden, in celebration of His love, in fellowship and communion with the Elohim. Sin came into the world. Then the fallen angels exacerbated the situation by perpetuating witchcraft behaviors among men. The earth became a mess. But we have exoneration from the sin we were born into.

Rom 5:18-19 Well then, as one man's trespass [one man's false step and falling away led] to condemnation for all men, so one Man's act of righteousness [leads] to acquittal and right standing with God and life for all men. 19 For just as by one man's disobedience (failing to hear, heedlessness, and carelessness) the many were constituted sinners, so by one Man's obedience the many will be constituted righteous [1342] (made acceptable to God, brought into right standing with Him).

Jesus brought us into right standing, no matter our heritage, no matter our nationality, no matter our past, Jesus changed the dynamic of death for all who believe on Him. When the law came, sin increased. Yet that made grace abound more.

Rom 5:20 But then Law came in, [only] to expand and increase the trespass [making it more apparent and exciting opposition]. But where sin increased and abounded, grace (God's unmerited favor) has surpassed it and increased the more and superabounded, 21 So that, [just] as sin has reigned in death, [so] grace (His unearned and undeserved favor) might reign also through righteousness (right standing with God) which issues in eternal life through Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) our Lord. AMP

Now all who believe on Jesus are in right standing with Yahweh. That is the importance of the administration/dispensation/time period we live in. Before Jesus came we were not made righteous by his sacrifice, obviously. We could only be righteous by our behavior. Yet Jesus said he didn’t come for the righteous, he came for the unrighteous. Here is the critical question we have to think through. Once we are made righteous can we become unrighteous?

Be careful how you answer that. The unrighteous do not inherit the kingdom of God. That would mean anyone who lies or commits adultery is in jeopardy of not entering the kingdom of God. Unless, when Paul speaks of the unrighteous he is speaking of those who do not believe Jesus is the Messiah. (1 Corinthians 6:9, 1Timothy 1:9; we will read these a bit later) Ah, now we are getting somewhere. We cannot be in right standing and wrong standing at the same time. This is one place the Body of Christ fractures. The Law was about behaving rightly to become righteous, but Jesus’ blood makes us righteous once and for all; for all who believe. It is not by works but by grace. Isn’t that exactly what Paul just said? The Law was about works and it made more sin, but since Jesus’ death there are no longer any works for righteousness. Therefore, when Paul talks about the unrighteous he is speaking about those who do not believe on Jesus as Messiah.

Now think this through. How many Pastors have committed adultery and also lied about it. Are we to believe that they are no longer going to be reconciled? Can they become un-reconciled? Why then do we restore fallen Pastors to Pastoral positions if they are booted out of the redeemed group? What if a young adult lies? Are they going to be disqualified from the kingdom of God for their lie? We have to understand that we humans are not put in charge of the doorway into the kingdom of God or the kingdom of Heaven. Therefore, it is not up to man to decide for all humanity who is allowed into the kingdoms, it is up to Jesus. And Paul is writing regarding the un-redeemed, not the redeemed. Redemption is not un-doable. It is not based on our lifestyles or behaviors, it is based on Jesus’ blood. Rewards for the kingdoms are based on our behavior.

Some things we have regarded as unrighteous behavior, Yahweh does not have an opinion about. Most of these things are cultural or societal in nature. There were many people in the Old Testement times who had multiple wives, many also had servants that bore them children. Many people of the Old Testament times owned slaves. Some visited prostitutes. Joseph’s brothers thought they would find him as a prostitute at the city walls as he was a good looking young man. As we know, there were many crazy behaviors in the temple for over 300 years, like male and female prostitution; and again Yahweh did not harm anyone. Hair, head coverings, beards, and women teaching the Bible are all issues that are cultural. We have to keep in mind that women were not allowed in the temple, only the court of women. Therefore women were not necessarily privy to Biblical teaching. Women could observe ceremonies from a distance but never participate in them. Women were of a low class as taught by the Rabbi’s and were not to be greeted and were required to walk six paces behind a man. Also if her head was uncovered she was considered a harlot. The Body of Christ invites all people into the Holy of Holies. Jesus told us that harlots and tax collectors would enter the kingdom of God ahead of the chief priests and elders. That means many women enter the kingdom ahead of the chief priests and elders. Think about this, for a woman to be caught in adultery she would have had to have a man committing adultery with her, yet culturally it was acceptable for the man to visit a prostitute but not acceptable to be a prostitute. What? In the temple, booths were set up for the male and female prostitutes from the time of the kingdom split to the time of Ezekiel. I don’t think we can say that only the female prostitutes were bad and the male prostitutes were acceptable. I don’t think we can say the visitors to the male and female prostitutes in the temple were acceptable either.

We have another aspect to consider in regards to bringing us closer to Shangri-La, the opposite of Sodom. The Holy Spirit came into the earth to convict the world of sin. That means it is the Holy Spirit’s job to lead the world and truly we are a better world than we used to be. I know some would disagree, but think this through. Humans have always violated the rights of other humans, however today many oppose those violations and attempt to stop others from committing the witchcraft type sins of Sodom. With media support people’s violations are known worldwide and many times actions are taken to stop those violations.

Now what if the church actually did what Jesus said. That would turn Christianity from being a petty judgmental group of haters, to lovers. Would unsaved people catch a glimpse of Shangri-La if the Body of Christ did what Jesus suggested? Jesus advised a few things we should consider. Let’s read it in the Message.

Matt 5:13-16 "Let me tell you why you are here. You're here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You've lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.
14 "Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. 15 If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. 16 Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand — shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.  (from THE MESSAGE: The Bible in Contemporary Language © 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson. God is not a secret to be kept, but it seems the Body of Christ does exactly that. By making rules and rituals so complex, one cannot even find God in the church. Have you ever heard stories of people in closed countries being visited by Jesus? What then will those people find if they were to enter a church today? Sad. We are saved if we believe on Jesus, then the church brings in the “but”. Stop the “but”, there is no “but” to salvation and entrance into the kingdom, no matter what your grandmother, your best friend, or minister told you. Live generously. Wow, if the Body of Christ did that it would be amazing. Jesus goes on.

Matt 5:38-42 "Here's another old saying that deserves a second look: 'Eye for eye, tooth for tooth.' 39 Is that going to get us anywhere? Here's what I propose: 'Don't hit back at all.' If someone strikes you, stand there and take it. 40 If someone drags you into court and sues for the shirt off your back, giftwrap your best coat and make a present of it. 41 And if someone takes unfair advantage of you, use the occasion to practice the servant life. 42 No more tit-for-tat stuff. Live generously.

For goodness sake, bake the cake and make it the best cake you ever baked. Make the pizza and throw in a side of breadsticks. Shame on us for being so petty. Personally, I have a problem with liars and if I had a business that discriminated against liars I’d be out of business very quickly. Look, someone told us a lie. Marriage is not for the unbeliever it is only for the believer, so if one wishes to discriminate that is where the discrimination should be; between believers in Christ and non-believers in Christ. How many ministers and pastors have held marriage ceremonies officiating the union of two people who were not believers in Jesus as Messiah? How many un-saved people are married and accepted by the church and by the law when marriage was only consecrated for the saved. Boy, we sure have missed this one by a mile. Let’s let Jesus continue.

Matt 5:43 "You're familiar with the old written law, 'Love your friend,' and its unwritten companion, 'Hate your enemy.' 44 I'm challenging that. I'm telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer, 45 for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves. This is what God does. He gives his best — the sun to warm and the rain to nourish — to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty. 46 If all you do is love the lovable, do you expect a bonus? Anybody can do that. 47 If you simply say hello to those who greet you, do you expect a medal? Any run-of-the-mill sinner does that.

Do you expect a medal for not making a cake or a pizza for someone you judge to be unacceptable, but instead you serve the lying adulterous Pastor? How will anyone come to know the goodness of Yahweh when we behave like this? Now Jesus finishes with a great point.

Matt 5:48 "In a word, what I'm saying is, Grow up. You're kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you (from THE MESSAGE: The Bible in Contemporary Language © 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson. All rights reserved.)

Grow up, because we are kingdom subjects. Even before his death he was telling those who believed on Him to behave like heirs of the kingdom. Now we can live out our God-created identity. This realization as to who we are brings us closer to Shangri-La. This is why Paul says that by and through Jesus we are in right standing, reconciled to him. Not only that, Paul tells us that we have the ministry of reconciliation, that by our words and deeds we can bring others into harmony with Him.

2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come! 18 But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him].

Harmony, isn’t that what we are looking for, harmony with the Creator and His creation? Paul goes on.

2 Cor 5:19 It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor). 20 So we are Christ's ambassadors, God making His appeal as it were through us. We [as Christ's personal representatives] beg you for His sake to lay hold of the divine favor [now offered you] and be reconciled to God. 21 For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness]. AMP

If we are reconciled, we now have the pleasure of reconciling others to Yahweh. We have divine favor to do it as well. We should be examples of righteousness, but we seem to fall into Sodoms’ witchcraft type of thinking. There is so much manipulation in the church, the church needs an exorcism. Yes, I understand we individuals are the church, the called out; we gather as a group in a building and that is where it all goes awry.  We want to live in Shangri-La but we cannot even live in harmony with each other. We are longing for Christ’s return to make the change rather than change ourselves to be the bearers of reconciliation to the unsaved. Once people are reconciled they cannot be unreconciled. Again, why do we accept liars and adulterers and cast out others? Paul wasn’t speaking about the reconciled, righteous believer, he was speaking about the unrighteous who are not inheriting the kingdom.

1 Cor 6:5-11 I say this as bluntly as I can to wake you up to the stupidity of what you're doing. Is it possible that there isn't one levelheaded person among you who can make fair decisions when disagreements and disputes come up? I don't believe it. 6 And here you are taking each other to court before people who don't even believe in God! How can they render justice if they don't believe in the God of justice?
7 These court cases are an ugly blot on your community. Wouldn't it be far better to just take it, to let yourselves be wronged and forget it? 8 All you're doing is providing fuel for more wrong, more injustice, bringing more hurt to the people of your own spiritual family.
9 Don't you realize that this is not the way to live? Unjust people who don't care about God will not be joining in his kingdom. Those who use and abuse each other, use and abuse sex, 10 use and abuse the earth and everything in it, don't qualify as citizens in God's kingdom. 11 A number of you know from experience what I'm talking about, for not so long ago you were on that list. Since then, you've been cleaned up and given a fresh start by Jesus, our Master, our Messiah, and by our God present in us, the Spirit.  (from THE MESSAGE: The Bible in Contemporary Language © 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson. All rights reserved.)

Unjust people who don’t care about God will not be joining His kingdom, but Paul says that the Corinthian Church has been given a fresh start. Why? Because they came to receive Jesus as their Lord. Even if we disregard what Jesus says in Matthew 5 about giftwrapping our coat and making a gift of it if someone sues us for our shirt, we cannot mistake Paul’s words. We Christians seem to provide plenty of fuel for more wrong, injustice, and hurt to the Body of Christ. Paul says he is urging us to LOVE.

1 Tim 1:5-11 The whole point of what we're urging is simply love — love uncontaminated by self-interest and counterfeit faith, a life open to God. 6 Those who fail to keep to this point soon wander off into cul-de-sacs of gossip. 7 They set themselves up as experts on religious issues, but haven't the remotest idea of what they're holding forth with such imposing eloquence.
8 It's true that moral guidance and counsel need to be given, but the way you say it and to whom you say it are as important as what you say. 9 It's obvious, isn't it, that the law code isn't primarily for people who live responsibly, but for the irresponsible, who defy all authority, riding roughshod over God, life, 10 sex, truth, whatever! 11 They are contemptuous of this great Message I've been put in charge of by this great God. (from THE MESSAGE: The Bible in Contemporary Language © 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson. All rights reserved.)

Love that is uncontaminated by self-interest and counterfeit faith is how we should behave. Those who don’t do this set themselves up as experts on religious issues but are misguided and bringing hurt to the Body of Christ. We Christians have a little trouble reading things in context. Instead we pick and choose words out of context to manipulate others. Always read the Bible in context and do not distort the words the Holy Spirit had written to us. We may need to dig into the definitions of words to get to the original meaning, therefore don’t exclusively rely on the King James English or the Latin. Go back to the Greek and Aramaic for better understanding. We have all the free tools we could ever want, but we really are the Laodicean fat and happy church. Let’s make an effort to put the salve on our eyes so we can share this reconciliation that brings harmony with the Creator with others. We cannot bring the words of reconciliation if we distort the very words the Holy Spirit had scribed for us.

Here are some words of Paul’s that will help us behave rightly towards others.

Col 3:12-17 Clothe yourselves therefore, as God's own chosen ones (His own picked representatives), [who are] purified and holy and well-beloved [by God Himself, by putting on behavior marked by] tenderhearted pity and mercy, kind feeling, a lowly opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, [and] patience [which is tireless and long-suffering, and has the power to endure whatever comes, with good temper]. 13 Be gentle and forbearing with one another and, if one has a difference (a grievance or complaint) against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has [freely] forgiven you, so must you also [forgive]. 14 And above all these [put on] love and enfold yourselves with the bond of perfectness [which binds everything together completely in ideal harmony]. 15 And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ's] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always]. 16 Let the word [spoken by] Christ (the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds] and dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and admonish and train one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom [in spiritual things, and as you sing] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to God with [His] grace in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him. AMP

What if we really lived like that? Wouldn’t we be better connected to Yahweh ourselves? Then we really could share the ministry of reconciliation with others. This harmonious life would look and feel like Shangri-La or Shambhala rather than Sodom. While life will not be perfect as the devil is still the prince of the power of the air and he still has children of disobedience, we could probably convert them as they too long for Shangri-La. This is our misguided understanding of righteousness. We are righteous and kingdom bound, therefore treat others well. Love those who mistreat us as well as those who live differently than we do. Love the people who think differently and give them the glimpse of Shangri-La they long for. We should look different than the world. We need to honestly assess whether we exemplify the behaviors Jesus suggested or not. Because if we do not, we cannot give the world what they long for.

Sodom Part 2, Inbred Witchcraft, Blinded Victims, Nephilim & Fallen Angels

Remembering our look at Sodom from last week, there are a few observations that we should make before starting this study. One is that the entire community, four cities, were doing things backwards. Kindness was replaced with unkindness, friendliness was replaced with unfriendliness, and morality was replaced with immorality. In other words, everything that we know in our modern world as good and right was the opposite in the cities of Sodom. Witchcraft was the pervading order of business, as in manipulation, intimidation, and domination. An individual had no personal rights, and if someone wanted to violate another, that was not only acceptable, but the preferred behavior. The dominant person always got their way and the meek were used. As we saw, homosexuality was not the pervading issue, it was rape instead. Think through how many times we have been told something inaccurate regarding Sodom. We are going to see a few more surprising scriptures regarding Sodom and its surrounding cities. There is a connection to the giants of old here and we will search that out.  As we saw a few weeks ago, clouding over truth, using magic, and seducing others was not supposed to be a way of life for the children of Jacob and life in Sodom is a great example of why that is. The Bible tells us that the men of Sodom were morally culpable, which was not a character flaw but in actuality it was who they were.

Genesis 13:13 G3588But the G1161 G444men G3588 G1722inG*Sodom G4190were wicked G2532and G268sinners G1726before G3588 G2316God, G4970exceedingly. http://studybible.info/ABP_Strongs/Genesis%2013

NT:4190 poneros (pon-ay-ros'); from a derivative of NT:4192; hurtful, i.e. evil (properly, in effect or influence, and thus differing from NT:2556, which refers rather to essential character, as well as from NT:4550, which indicates degeneracy from original virtue); figuratively, calamitous; also (passively) ill, i.e. diseased; but especially (morally) culpable, i.e. derelict, vicious, facinorous; neuter (singular) mischief, malice, or (plural) guilt; masculine (singular) the devil, or (plural) sinners: KJV - bad, evil, grievous, harm, lewd, malicious, wicked (-ness). See also NT:4191. (Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Firstly, we questioned why Lot stayed in Sodom. We saw that Abraham’s servant Eleazar visited Lot at Sarah’s request because she was concerned about him. What we don’t know is why she was concerned for him. I believe as to what we saw, that the behaviors of Sodom and the way strangers’ and visitors were treated is something that was communicated socially through to the other communities and Sarah was concerned about whether Lot was living a morally upright life. Eleazar was not intimidated or bewitched by the witchcraft of Sodom. Then Abraham actually took his servants and went to war on Sodom’s behalf because Lot had been taken captive. Abraham’s actions in freeing Lot allowed Sodom to continue in its evil ways, and yet Lot continued to live there. Lot had several children, all daughters, and even after one of his daughters was killed for helping someone being starved to death Lot continued to live there. When the Angels came to destroy Sodom, Lot went to his daughters and son’s in laws to warn them to get out of the city, but none of them would leave. The bands and snares of witchcraft are very strong, and the Angels had to take Lot and his wife and young daughters by the hand.

Gen 19:12-16 And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord; and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it.14 And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the Lord will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.15 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the Lord being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city. KJV

What is interesting here is that Lot had to be led out of the city by the hand. I think that if angels visited any of us saying they were going to destroy the place we lived we’d all send out a mass email, a mass text, and posts to facebook and twitter, and then get out of town ahead of the angels. I don’t think anyone would have to hold our hands. We have to ask the question as to what happened to Lot’s servants. Remember Lot’s servants were fighting with Abraham’s servants over land and grazing which is why Lot chose to go in the direction of Sodom. Even though Lot was righteous, (unrighteousness was one of the issues of the cities of Sodom), he really didn’t want to leave. What is also interesting is that the cries of the people who were victimized in Sodom became so intense that Yahweh had to destroy this place of witchcraft. It is because the evil was inherent in those people. We will see why shortly, but for now keep in mind that these people were evil from within.  If we remember the negotiating that Abraham did with Yahweh on behalf of the righteous in Sodom, it came down to making a provision for the righteous to get them out while Sodom would still have to be destroyed. That begs the question, isn’t there any other way to break that level of witchcraft? The obvious answer is no, but regardless, witchcrafts tentacles have spread to other places and cultures.

Whenever a person behaves with evil intent it allows the devil entrance into that one’s life. Once that person makes an agreement with that bad behavior, that one is actually allowing evil spiritual influence into that one’s life. But witchcraft (as in manipulation, intimidation, and domination) becomes an addiction. If it works to manipulate someone to get something one wants, then that manipulator does it again and again. Like a sickness, it becomes the thrill of the hunt or the thrill of the manipulation. And like a kleptomaniac who steals for the thrill of stealing rather than out of necessity, the manipulator, dominator, or intimidator gets high on the practice. It becomes a drug to that one who operates witchcraft. It then becomes an insatiable desire that keeps one pursuing another high so the individual has to go bigger and better than before.

Now imagine that this practice is acceptable in a community and it is allowed by all officials and judges so that the entire community behaves this way. Is there any way to reform this community? If every stranger that walks into the city is stolen from, raped, and left to starve to death, is there a way to reform the thinking and behaviors of these four cities, or is the destruction and the making an example of these cities the only way to stop this lifestyle? What if the evil way they act is intrinsic in their very nature? In other words, what if they are born that way? Now let’s go one step further. If someone distorts the foundational premise of the example of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, and makes the example of destruction about homosexuality rather than witchcraft and rape, will witchcraft have free reign in societies and communities without the righteous being able to contest it? If witchcraft has become prevalent in our societies, it is because the example of Sodom has been lost. Today, entire communities are divided over the perceived example of Sodom as a morality tale about homosexuality rather than about witchcraft. Have you ever seen a dog chase his tale? That is what the devil has done to Christians, made Christians chase their tails rather than eliminate witchcraft. Remember again, the practice of sodomy was in the temple alongside the glory of the Lord for over 300 years. That is not what Sodom was about. Let’s look at an earlier time when people believed that Sodom and its cities were about inhospitality. Solomon used this idea in an example of how the Israelites behaved coming out of Egypt.

Wisdom 19:12-13 For quails came up unto them from the sea for their contentment.13 And punishments came upon the sinners not without former signs by the force of thunders: for they suffered justly according to their own wickedness, insomuch as they used a more hard and hateful behaviour toward strangers. KJV

This is in the context of the Israelites that had experienced many miracles, but they still behaved wickedly with hateful behaviors toward strangers.

Wisdom 19:14-17 For the Sodomites did not receive those, whom they knew not when they came: but these brought friends into bondage, that had well deserved of them.15 And not only so, but peradventure some respect shall be had of those, because they used strangers not friendly:16 But these very grievously afflicted them, whom they had received with feastings, and were already made partakers of the same laws with them.17 Therefore even with blindness were these stricken, as those were at the doors of the righteous man: when, being compassed about with horrible great darkness, every one sought the passage of his own doors. KJV

Douay-Rheims says this a little differently.

Wisdom 19:13-16 For they exercised a more detestable inhospitality than any: others indeed received not strangers unknown to them, but these brought their guests into bondage that had deserved well of them.14 And not only so, but in another respect also they were worse: for the others against their will received the strangers.15 But these grievously afflicted them whom they had received with joy, and who lived under the same laws.16 But they were struck with blindness: as those others were at the doors of the just man, when they were covered with sudden darkness, and every one sought the passage of his own door. Douay-Rheims

Detestable inhospitality.

2 Esd 7:30-36 And the world shall be turned into the old silence seven days, like as in the former judgments: so that no man shall remain.31 And after seven days the world, that yet awaketh not, shall be raised up, and that shall die that is corrupt32 And the earth shall restore those that are asleep in her, and so shall the dust those that dwell in silence, and the secret places shall deliver those souls that were committed unto them.33 And the most High shall appear upon the seat of judgment, and misery shall pass away, and the long suffering shall have an end:34 But judgment only shall remain, truth shall stand, and faith shall wax strong:35 And the work shall follow, and the reward shall be shewed, and the good deeds shall be of force, and wicked deeds shall bear no rule.36 Then said I, Abraham prayed first for the Sodomites, and Moses for the fathers that sinned in the wilderness: KJV

Again, when we take into account the things going on in the temple, the male and female prostitution, the idolatry, the worshipping of the cherubim, the incense burning, the child sacrifice, and the worshipping of the stars, it seems the sins of Sodom cannot be only homosexuality otherwise Yahweh would be a very unjust Lord and God. No the backwardness of Sodom was the entire sin, and Ezekiel points out that Sodom had everything they needed in abundance, but they didn’t take care of the poor and needy. Yet Ezekiel points out that Israel is worse than Sodom and worse than Samaria.

By this time the glory of the Lord had already left the temple (chapter 9) and Ezekiel sets up this correction by comparing Israel as sisters with Samaria and Sodom. Remember that the Israelites hated the Samarians because they were mixed people, not full blooded Israelites. When the northern kingdoms went into captivity in Assyria, the Assyrians sent their people (Assyrians) to the northern kingdom to live. Therefor the southern kingdom (Judea) hated the people who moved into that region. Here Ezekiel insults the Israelites by saying their mother was a Hittite and their father was an Amorite.

Ezekiel 16:44 These are all the things they have spoken against thee in a proverb, saying, 45 As is the mother, so is thy mother’s daughter: thou art she that has rejected her husband and her children; and the sisters of thy sisters have rejected their husbands and their children: your mother was a Chettite, and your father an Amorite. 46 Your elder sister who dwells on thy left hand is Samaria, she and her daughters: and thy younger sister, that dwells on the right hand, is Sodom and her daughters. 47 Yet notwithstanding thou hast not walked in their ways, neither hast thou done according to their iniquities within a little, but thou hast exceeded them in all thy ways.

Ezekiel says the Israelites exceeded the sins of the Samarians and the Sodomites. He is trying to draw a visual picture of how bad their behavior is. Israel was told the personal name of God, Yahweh, and they had the glory of the Lord residing with them in the temple. But the Israelites behaved so badly that the glory left and they were close to going into captivity for their bad behaviors. Let’s go on.

Ezekiel 16:48 As I live, saith the Lord, this Sodom and her daughters have not done as thou and thy daughters have done. 49 Moreover this was the sin of thy sister Sodom, pride: she and her daughters lived in pleasure, in fullness of bread and in abundance: this belonged to her and her daughters, and they helped not the hand of the poor and needy. 50 And they boasted, and wrought iniquities before me: so I cut them off as I saw fit.
51 Also Samaria has not sinned according to half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine iniquities beyond them, and thou hast justified thy sisters in all thine iniquities which thou hast committed. 52 Thou therefore bear thy punishment, for that thou hast corrupted thy sisters by thy sins which thou hast committed beyond them; and thou hast made them appear more righteous than thyself: thou therefore be ashamed, and bear thy dishonour, in that thou hast justified thy sisters. 53 And I will turn their captivity, even the captivity of Sodom and her daughters; and I will turn the captivity of Samaria and her daughters; and I will turn thy captivity in the midst of them: 54 that thou mayest bear thy punishment, and be dishonoured for all that thou hast done in provoking me to anger. http://ecmarsh.com/lxx/Jezekiel/index.htm

Israel was so sinful that she made Sodom and Samaria look righteous. This is what we are not seeing. We have been blinded so that we have never seen the things that went on in the temple and no one dares to teach it in the church. But it is time to be honest and simply read the Bible because the scheme and cloud of witchcraft is dividing Christianity and hiding the truth of what the sons of Sodom were about. Shame on us for letting the devil tear us apart. The sins of Sodom were witchcraft, manipulation, intimidation, domination, including evil behaviors and rape. Ezekiel says Israel has behaved worse.

If we understand that the people doing the abominable things in the temple were not foreigners but Israelites, we will understand Ezekiel’s words. There were no foreigners in Judea, they had not been captured and led to Babylon. There were no outsiders forcing their way into the temple of Solomon prostituting themselves, these were Israeli men and women. There were no aliens walking into the temple complex worshipping stars or burning incense or sacrificing children. There were no foreigners or strangers entering the Holy of Holies to worship the cherubim, these were Israelites. We need to teach the truth, not to condemn anyone, but to stop the twisting of witchcraft within the body of Christ. Even today Jews light a candle at the birth of a baby and pass the baby over the flame as in passing the baby through the fire. It is a shame that we somehow think the Jews had such a persecuted history without recognizing that they were responsible for their own behaviors. They were not born with this evil within, they mimicked evil witchcraft behaviors because they thought this was an advantageous way to act.  http://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2014/11/lucifer-worship-of-cherubim-star-gospel.html http://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2014/03/passover-male-prostitution-in-temple.html http://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2015/03/passover-abraham-isaac-and-jacob-in.html

Let’s look at Jesus’ words to his disciples as he sent them out to preach the kingdom of heaven. He told them to heal the sick, cleanse the leapers, raise the dead, and cast out devils. He had the twelve disciples showing the power of God to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. They were not to go to the nations or the Samarians, just to the people of Israel.

Matt 10:14-15 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. KJV

Sodom and Gomorrah will be judged less harshly compared to those who reject the disciples as they heal the sick, cleanse the leapers, raise the dead, and cast out devils. Jesus says to shake the dust off their feet from those places that reject them, which is technically cursing those cities. Again, Jesus chastises the cities where miracles were done because the people didn’t repent.

Matt 11:20-24 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.24 But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee. KJV

The miracles that were done at that time, had they been done in Sodom, the Sodomites would have repented and the city would still be in existence. That is a big deal, because surely if Sodom would have repented they would have put off the witchcraft that was common among them. Imagine if those same miracles were done in your town, what would happen? Many people would repent. That is the problem the body of Christ faces. People are divided because of incorrect Bible teaching. Truly, Israel has a right to exist, let’s not forget that. But Israel is no longer the poster child for Yahweh, the Body of Christ is. However, at the present, the Body of Christ is petty and angry and divisive. Sounds like a targeted spiritual attack that keeps everyone at odds with each other so that the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace is nonexistent.

Now let’s take this idea of Sodom’s sin problems one step further. We again mistake what the Bible is saying in Jude because we really don’t look at the words. Jude gives us further insight that we also see in the Book of Jasher regarding the Nephilim.

Firstly in Jude 6 we see that the angels that fell left their own oiketerion, which is the same word used in 2 Corinthians 5:2. Let’s look.

NT:3613 oiketerion (oy-kay-tay'-ree-on); neuter of a presumed derivative of NT:3611 (equivalent to NT:3612); a residence (literally or figuratively):KJV - habitation, house.(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003, 2006 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

2 Cor 5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: KJV

The houses the fallen angels left were their bodies, just like we look forward to being clothed with bodies that angels have. Jesus says that in heaven we will not marry or be given in marriage, but we will be like the angels. That tells us that the body the fallen angels left will be like the one we get. Yet when the fallen angels left their bodies they took earth women to procreate with which created the race of the Nephilim which were very large half breeds, half human half angel. This means they had the necessary parts to procreate with. In other words, angels are not devoid of sexual organs, but they don’t marry. We haven’t heard about angels procreating, but that doesn’t mean they are celibate. The second verse is a statement regarding Sodom and Gomorrah. Let’s look at a few words there.

NT:1608 ekporneuo (ek-porn-yoo'-o); from NT:1537 and NT:4203; to be utterly unchaste: KJV - giveself over to fornication.(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003, 2006 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.)
NT:4203 porneuo (porn-yoo'-o); from NT:4204; to act the harlot, i.e. (literally) indulge unlawful lust (of either sex), or (figuratively) practise idolatry: KJV - commit (fornication).(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003, 2006 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

NT:4561 sarx (sarx); probably from the base of NT:4563; flesh (as stripped of the skin), i.e. (strictly) the meat of an animal (as food), or (by extension) the body (as opposed to the soul [or spirit], or as the symbol of what is external, or as the means of kindred), or (by implication) human nature (with its frailties [physically or morally] and passions), or (specifically) a human being (as such):KJV - carnal (-ly,  -ly minded), flesh ([-ly]).(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003, 2006 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

NT:2087 heteros (het'-er-os); of uncertain affinity; (an-, the) other or different: KJV - altered, else, next (day), one, (an-) other, some, strange.(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003, 2006 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

The word ekporneuo means ek- out from and porneuo-prostitute, probably where we get our modern word pornography from. We see an untranslated word prior to this and the word “in”, like “in manner or style” is what precedes this word ekporneuo. The next section says going after but literally means “going back to”. The word flesh is either animals or bodies, and the word strange is different. We somehow have thought of this as homosexuality but it is not. The word strange tells us it is a different kind of flesh. This is not human flesh, it is either animal or angelic flesh. It was a different kind of flesh, not the same kind of flesh. They behaved like prostitutes going after a different kind of flesh. The context of the prior verse tells us something here as well. Because the Bible tells us that the Nephilim/giants were on the earth in the days of Noah and after that, we don’t really have a time frame of the “after that”. There were more angels leaving their angelic bodies for procreation with humans and since Sodom and the surrounding cities were Canaanites, heirs of the fallen angels and humans, it seems Jude is pointing out that the strange or different flesh was angelic rather than human. This is why they were made an example of punishment.

Gen 6:4-5 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. KJV

OT:5303 nephiyl (nef-eel'); or nephil (nef-eel'); from OT:5307; properly, a feller, i.e. a bully or tyrant: KJV - giant.(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003, 2006 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

Moses had the benefit of writing Genesis from hindsight. He would have known whether all the offspring of the fallen angels were killed in the flood or whether some again came into existence. Moses also would have known that the Sodomites and Canaanites were going to be conquered because that was what Joshua was to do when the Israelites entered the Promised Land.

We see the characteristics of the Nephilim and the characteristics of Sodom are the same. They both seem to use witchcraft and were bullies and tyrants who had drugs and sex parties, and raped who they wanted. The Book of Jasher tells us that these were the behaviors of these fallen angels and God had to destroy the world with a flood. The evil was born in them, and that is what Genesis 13:13 tells us in regards to Sodom and the surrounding cities. Some angels congregated among the sons of Canaan and further procreated and propagated their witchcraft behaviors. Evil was born into their very life and Yahweh destroyed them as well. Yet their sins pale in comparison to Israel’s sins. Not all descendants of the Nephilim behaved evil, but evil was born within them. Abraham married a Canaanite women. Shem and Eber lived among them and had a good relationship with the Canaanites. Abraham knew Yahweh wanted to destroy them so Abraham told his six sons by Keturah to move south into the Arabian Peninsula. Joshua was supposed to kill them all but he did not. In the years of David they were known as the Philistines. Therefore the remnant of the Canaanites still resides in the region today. Yes there are descendants of the Nephilim on the earth in our modern day. These are people who have the characteristics of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboim. Sirach gives us a clue like Jude, comparing the times of the giants to the times of Sodom.

Ecclus 16:6-8 In the congregation of the ungodly shall a fire be kindled; and in a rebellious nation wrath is set on fire.7 He was not pacified toward the old giants, who fell away in the strength of their foolishness.8 Neither spared he the place where Lot sojourned, but abhorred them for their pride. KJV

While Jude tells us that the Sodomites were outwardly prostituting themselves with different kinds of flesh, Israel prostituted themselves in the temple with like flesh. When Yahweh called them out of Egypt it was to honor Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, because as we have studied all three were devoted wholeheartedly to Yahweh. The Israelites didn’t know that Yahweh and Moses were going to make Yahweh known to them. However, we know the story, Yahweh was ready to destroy the Israelites and use Moses as a great nation. Yet Moses defended them and Yahweh gave them rules to keep them holy, and gave them a tabernacle to worship in. Yahweh did not do this for any other people group. Then Jesus came and revealed himself to the Israelites and the religious leaders rejected him. This is why Jesus says that it will be better for Sodom on the day of judgement because the Sodomites would have believed Jesus was the Messiah had they seen him. Peter tells us that Sodom and the surrounding cities were made an example for us not to live ungodly.

2 Peter 2:6-9 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: KJV

Now notice what Peter says. The Lord knows how to deliver the righteous out of adversity and to reserve the unjust to the Day of Judgment. How will the Lord deliver the godly out of adversity now? I wonder if Abraham has become a better negotiator, brokering a deal for snatching up (harpazo) as many as possible before the tribulation begins. Jesus gave us great clues regarding the apocalypse.

Luke 17:26-33 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.32 Remember Lot's wife.33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it KJV

Just like in Jude and Sirach, we have a connection between the days of Noah and the days of Sodom. The context here is Jesus’ apocalypse. When the Parousia comes, the earth dwellers will be going about their normal business, but keep in mind the redeemed are not on the earth at this time. We are talking about the kingdom of God and the time of the millennial reign. The people on the earth will not know when Jesus is going to be revealed with his armies. They will be going about their business and normal daily activities just like in the days of Noah and the days of Sodom. Notice something here, just before the revealing of Christ, the Day of the Lord, Zechariah says people will be raped. http://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2015/02/eagles-martyrs-elect-and-sent-away.html

Zech 14:2-3 I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem, to lay siege against it. The city will be captured, the houses will be ransacked, the women raped, and half of the city will go into exile, but the remaining people will not be cut off from the city. ISV

I would venture to say that it will not only be women raped just before the Lord comes to deliver Israel, it will be everyone and anyone because the same inbred evil still exists within Israel’s enemies. And as we have studied, we know who the players are in this time period. This takes place at the end of the tribulation so let’s think this trough. The redeemed are harpazo’d at the beginning of the seven year tribulation. Those left on earth are Babylon and the Beast and the Jews, as well as very few who have no allegiance to anyone. The Beast kills those who do not align with him and then the Beast kills Babylon. The Beast then kills the Jews, and makes war with the Lamb, but the Lamb and His armies come to kill the Beast. The act of rape is a theme of dominance which is witchcraft, and we see that throughout the tribulation period as the Beast kills all who do not unite with him/them.

We now have an added understanding of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim that they were not only utilizing witchcraft to behave in an evil manner, they were also prostituting themselves with other flesh, fallen angels and the descendants of the fallen angels. The characteristics of the Nephilim are very similar to the characteristics of the Sodomites which is indwelling evil behavior and that tells us that they are related. This also means that if we finally recognize that the sins of Sodom were not homosexuality but witchcraft, we can then subdue the witchcraft on the earth today because we have the Holy Spirit on earth and indwelling us. If however we stay in the fog of bewitchment and believe a lie, we will be victimized by witchcraft in our modern times. The descendants of the Nephilim are still on the earth today so it isn’t a surprise that this behavior still exists as well. Once manipulations, intimidations, and dominations are an allowable lifestyle accepted by society, the godly and righteous will be persecuted. But at some point, the Lord will rescue the godly out of adversity. Keep in mind that he destroyed the earth with a flood to kill off the witchcraft, then he burnt up Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim with fire, and in the future he will also burn up Babylon and Babylon will become like Sodom, uninhabitable forever.

The trick of the enemy is to cause the body of Christ to attack itself, like an autoimmune disease. If we continue to allow ourselves to be blinded, we will harm ourselves. What if homosexuality was not the problem people have made it out to be? What if Jesus actually answered the question of people being born differently? Jesus actually did answer that question and we should be ashamed of ourselves for not knowing what he said. We are so lazy we take the Latin words at face value and don’t look at the original Greek words, shame on us. The enemy of the Body of Christ has bewitched us into believing Sodom was destroyed because of homosexuality and that is not true. Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim were destroyed because of witchcraft inherent within those people because they were descendants of fallen angels. Yahweh destroyed the earth with a flood the first time to stop the spread of witchcraft. Then he destroyed those four cities with fire to stop the spread of witchcraft the second time. The angels that left their bodies for earth bodies influenced humanity in a very bad way and that is the problem we have with Sodom. The Israelites behaved even worse because they had the knowledge of Yahweh but rejected Him. They also had Jesus the Messiah in their country working miracles and preaching the coming kingdom and Israel rejected Jesus. This is why Sodom will be judged less harshly because the Sodomites could not control who they descended from, but they would have repented if Jesus had done miracles there. It is up to us to teach the truth, to break the blindness of witchcraft and to unify against the spells of witchcraft.
