Their Secret Game; the Twisted Heart; the Unclean Soul; Public Rebuke

We have been studying history regarding Israel and their struggle to remain faithful to Yahweh. We have seen the results of their poor decisions and we start to wonder about intentional corruption. When the acts of worshipping the baal’s start to become a culture and a habit, ritual laws and a “religion” are formed. The new religion becomes a societal law as well. We see people who band together and behave in a domineering and manipulative way to harm and lord over the masses. Their behavior can be noted as intentional evil. One of our naïveté’s of being a child of the Most High God, is that we do not think like the children of wrath. We perceive the world though our own lens and do not look at evil and the evil dealings the children of wrath are performing. We assume everyone thinks the way we do. That is not the case. Solomon warns of people with corrupted hearts and unclean souls. He tells us how evil people go about manipulating the masses and tells us to expose them.

Imagine the spiritual war that surrounds us. On the one side we have children of wrath, also called sons of Belial, scheming, planning, plotting, dominating, intimidating, and manipulating. On the other side we have the children of the Living God, who aren’t even sure there is a physical enemy. They hesitate to call anyone an enemy as everyone can be saved, and they certainly don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. The children of the Living God are wondering why they themselves are oppressed, burdened, beat down, and impoverished. Instead of looking at the true enemy, the children of the Most High look among their own ranks and attack one another. Let’s see if we can shed some light on our hidden enemies.

Proverbs 6:12-19 (KJV)
12  A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.
13  He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers;
14  Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord.
15  Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.
16  These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17  A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18  An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19  A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

We might be familiar with this section of Proverbs from the King James Version, but it reads a little differently in the Septuagint. We can claim God hates things, but the point of this section is the person with this perverse heart is in irretrievable ruin due to the impurity of his own soul. The context here is a foolish man and a transgressor

Proverbs 6:12 A foolish man and a transgressor goes in ways that are not good. 13 And the same winks with the eye, and makes a sign with his foot, and teaches with the beckonings of his fingers. 14 His perverse heart devises evils: at all times such a one causes troubles to a city. 15 Therefore his destruction shall come suddenly; overthrow and irretrievable ruin.
16 For he rejoices in all things which God hates, and he is ruined by reason of impurity of soul. 17 The eye of the haughty, a tongue unjust, hands shedding the blood of the just; 18 and a heart devising evil thoughts, and feet hastening to do evil, —are hateful to God. 19 An unjust witness kindles falsehoods, and brings on quarrels between brethren.

Let’s take this apart.

Proverbs 6:12 G435 A man, G878 a fool G2532 and G3892.1 a lawbreaker, G4198 shall go G3598 by ways G3756 not G18 good.
  13 G3588 And the G1161   G1473 same G1770 beckons G3788 with the eyes,…

1770 LSJ Gloss:ἐννεύω to make signs to, to ask by signs
Dodson:ἐννεύω I make a sign to by nodding.
Thayer:
1) to nod to, signify or express by a nod or a sign

ἐννεύω
enneuō en-nyoo'-o From G1722 and G3506; to nod at, that is, beckon or communicate by gesture KJV Usage: make signs.

A man, and/or a senseless, stupid person, and/or a lawless person, doing illegal things, is the context that we are speaking about here. This proverb is about people intentionally doing things that are not good. Solomon calls them foolish. He also calls them lawbreakers. Not simply those who break the laws of God but also break the laws of society. They use secret ways to communicate so that others don’t understand them. They use their eyes to communicate with gestures to signal to a co-conspirator.  Proverbs also says that the signaling of the eye with treachery gathers distress for men. The remedy is to openly reprove these people.

Proverbs 10:10 G3588 The G1770 beckoning G3788 eye G3326 with G1388 treachery G4863 gathers G435 [2for men G3077 1distresses]; G3588 but the G1161   G1651 one reproving G3326 with G3954 an open manner G1517 makes peace

Proverbs 10:10 He that winks with his eyes deceitfully, procures griefs for men; but he that reproves boldly is a peacemaker.

If the behavior of corrupt people is openly and boldly reproved, their plans will be exposed and stopped. Then there will be peace in that city or country. Open rebuke is the only remedy. Bold reproof makes peace. Whatever gets exposed to light is revealed.

Proverbs 6:13...G4591 and makes signs G1161   G4228 with the foot,…

4591 LSJ Gloss:σημαίνω to shew by a sign, indicate, make known, point out
Dodson:σημαίνωI signify, indicate I signify, indicate, give a sign, make known.
Thayer:
1) to give a sign, to signify, indicate
2) to make known

σημαίνω
sēmainō say-mah'ee-no From σῆμα sēma (a mark; of uncertain derivation); to indicate KJV Usage: signify.

They make a mark or an indication with their foot. This is another way to signal to co-conspirators. Today a certain group of people wear red shoes, signaling their perverted behaviors. Some have red soles on their shoes. They even go so far as to create artwork with their symbolism. There is nothing new under the sun. Usually when we are speaking with someone we watch their face not their feet.

Proverbs 6:13...G1321 and teaches G1161   G3505.2 with the beckoning G1147 of his fingers.

1321 LSJ Gloss:διδάσκω to teach
Dodson:διδάσκω I teach I teach, direct, admonish.
Thayer:
1) to teach
1a) to hold discourse with others in order to instruct them, deliver didactic discourses
1b) to be a teacher
1c) to discharge the office of a teacher, conduct one's self as a teacher
2) to teach one
2a) to impart instruction
2b) instill doctrine into one
2c) the thing taught or enjoined
2d) to explain or expound a thing
2f) to teach one something

διδάσκω
didaskō did-as'-ko A prolonged (causative) form of a primary verb δάω daō (to learn); to teach (in the same broad application) KJV Usage: teach.

They teach or admonish with their fingers. Some people wear rings that show an allegiance to a group or organization. Sometimes they “talk with their hands” or point. Sometimes their “cue” to someone else is scratching of the nose or a wiping of the brow. Eyes, feet, and fingers, are the tools used by people in evil secret societies to communicate without words. Remember that foolish and lawless people do these things and while the general population and the children of the Living God do not notice or see these gestures, Yahweh does. Generally we see these behaviors acted out in movies, but in reality there are people signaling things to others that are centered around the worship of the baal’s. This is because their heart is corrupt.

Proverbs 6:14 G1294 [3being perverted G1161 1And G2588 2a heart] G5044.1 contrives G2556 evils;…

2556 LSJ Gloss:κακός bad
Dodson:κακός bad, evil bad, evil, in the widest sense.
Thayer:
1) of a bad nature
1a) not such as it ought to be
2) of a mode of thinking, feeling, acting
2a) base, wrong, wicked
3) troublesome, injurious, pernicious, destructive, baneful

κακός
kakos kak-os' Apparently a primary word; worthless (intrinsically such; whereas G4190 properly refers to effects), that is, (subjectively) depraved, or (objectively) injurious KJV Usage: bad, evil, harm, ill, noisome, wicked.

These people have a twisted heart and they contrive evil or harm. The distortion and perversion of the heart is key. The Lord knows what is in a mans heart, and he knows if one’s heart is corrupt. If Yahweh says that there are people with twisted hearts, then we, the body of Christ, should understand this. This is a foundational understanding in spiritual warfare. Let’s note the physical body parts engaged here, the heart, the eyes, the feet, and the fingers. This is a deliberate engineering of one’s whole being. This is their craft. They plan trouble and injury and it stems from their heart.

Proverbs 6:14… G1722 at G3956 all G2540 time G3588   G5108 such a one G5016 [2disturbances G4921 1concocts] G4172 to a city.

συνιστάω, συνιστάνω, συνίστημι
sunistaō sunistanō sunistēmi soon-is-tah'-o, soon-is-tah'-an'-o, soon-is-tah'-ay-mee From G4862 and G2476 (including its collateral forms); to set together, that is, (by implication) to introduce (favorably), or (figuratively) to exhibit; intransitively to stand near, or (figuratively) to constitute KJV Usage: approve, commend, consist, make, stand (with).

These people compose disorder and confusion in cities. They put together plans of subversion or sedition in their region. At the time this was written, there was no news media other than the gathering of people in places like wells or markets. Today with the advent of social media the world is much smaller. We communicate farther and faster in a very short amount of time. People can contrive evil plans to cause a commotion in the entire world. We see people who engineer social outrages, or manufacture crises for the purpose of swaying public opinion. Within the last year, how many liars have been exposed trying to cause harm to someone innocent? These people have no conscience nor fear of retribution. They are willing to publicly lie and it almost seems that they are celebrated for what they say. They are also celebrated when their story turns out to be untrue. How strange. Bringing false accusations is against Mosaic law. Exodus 20:16, 23:1, Deuteronomy 19:16-19.

Jesus is a great example here as the religious leaders in their secret society oppressed people with made up rules and laws and also condemned Jesus for healing people. They then engineered a plan for Jesus’ death, orchestrating the situation to have the Romans murder him. They also started a social campaign against Jesus as a false prophet and healer so that the people became emotionally charged and wanted a zealot murderer released and Jesus crucified. People rallying and shouting against Jesus tells us that the people believed these religious leaders instead of the miracles that Jesus did. If it can happen to Jesus it can happen to anyone.

Once people make a commitment to worship one of the baal’s they then show their allegiance to their god with perversions and sacrifices. When these people are “trusted” they are given “responsibilities” to carry out. This is the foundation of how people get started in secret societies with the intent to harm the innocent. But the innocent children of the Living God have no idea anyone would behave this way, let alone believe that this behavior is intentional. It is time for Christians to rise up as the army of the Lord on the earth.

446.3 incurable, irretrievable

The destruction or crushing of an evil person comes suddenly and he is severed. This is an incurable position. What does this mean? The children of the Most High God always look to immediate justice. We get this distorted perspective from the Pharisees, as if after one slip God is ready to beat us over the head. This is an unfortunate distortion of Yahweh’s character.

This shattering is not immediate, it is sudden. The difference is that someone can be evil for a very long time, tormenting many people, but when this evil twisted person least expects it, he is severed from Yahweh. There is no chance for this person to repent and confess Jesus as Lord. Suddenly they are severed and irretrievable. They may be alive on earth but they are dead to Yahweh. Therefore it is possible to be so far from Yahweh that Yahweh cuts people off. At that point there is no turning back for the foolish person. It is an incurable and irretrievable state.

This is similar to what would have happened to the adam had he eaten of the tree of life after sinning. The adam would have been forever removed from the sight of Yahweh. The adam would have had life with eternal sin. https://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-cycle-of-cosmos-lower-air-jesus.html

Genesis 3:23 And God said, Behold, Adam is become as one of us, to know good and evil, and now lest at any time he stretch forth his hand, and take of the tree of life and eat, and so he shall live forever— 24 So the Lord God sent him forth out of the garden of Delight to cultivate the ground out of which he was taken. 25 And he cast out Adam and caused him to dwell over against the garden of Delight, and stationed the cherubs and the fiery sword that turns about to keep the way of the tree of life.

The adam would have spent eternity in a sinful state, separated and apart from the Living God. To keep the adam from being eternally severed from Yahweh, Yahweh Elohim blocked the way to the tree of life. The people who have twisted hearts, who conspire evil, who harm the innocent, will suddenly be severed. They do not know when they will be severed, but they will be severed and irretrievably broken, then eventually crushed and destroyed. They will be forever separated from the Creator because they are joyful over their evil scheming.

Remember Solomon’s wisdom from Ecclesiastes? He points out that sentencing by Yahweh against an evil work is not executed speedily.

Ecclesiastes 8:11 (KJV)
11  Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

Punishment for evil is not executed quickly. This is why people continue to do evil. The severing and incurable crushing of evil people from Yahweh does take place and they may seem to live without punishment on earth, but make no mistake they have been severed irretrievably because they rejoice in the things that Yahweh hates.

chairō khah'ee-ro A primary verb; to be full of “cheer” , that is, calmly happy or well off; impersonal especially as a salutation (on meeting or parting), be well KJV Usage: farewell, be glad, God speed, greeting, hail, joy (-fully), rejoice.

2) to be hated, detested

μισέω
miseō mis-eh'-o From a primary word μῖσος misos (hatred); to detest (especially to persecute); by extension to love less KJV Usage: hate (-ful).

These people are severed and their state is incurable because they rejoice, and are delighted in the things that Yahweh detests. From Solomons perspective as the richest, wisest, most successful king, these people are losing more than they have gained on the earth.

1b1) of impure motives

ἀκαθαρσία
akatharsia ak-ath-ar-see'-ah From G169; impurity (the quality), physically or morally KJV Usage: uncleanness.

The foolish and lawless followers of the devil are crushed and shattered because of the uncleanness of their soul, their very breath life. Remember, they have a twisted heart and they contrive evil within the thoughts of their heart. Their soul had become impure. This is what the army of Yahweh needs to understand. Solomon also reminds us that they will be punished.

Wisdom of Solomon 3:10 (DRV)
10  But the wicked shall be punished according to their own devices: who have neglected the just, and have revolted from the Lord.

There is a progression of evil in a person’s life that eventually leads to the irretrievable severing from Yahweh. At first someone worships an idol, and sees a reaction. Therefore that person does it again, and again. The next step is the intentional breech of Mosaic Laws, behaving in a corrupt manner intentionally. As this person continues to pursue evil, his heart becomes corrupted. Then his soul is corrupted. Once the heart and soul become distorted, the individual can be incurably severed from Yahweh. This is up to Yahweh, not us. We cannot decide this state.

Their heart deliberately calculates and computes evil. We have thoughts in our heart and this is where these people, the children of wrath, are different than the children of the Most High God. If we view people as inherently good, as we would like to, then we may miss our enemy who is calculating and conspiring to harm us.

A wicked, unrighteous, sinful, witness kindles deceit. We may remember how Jezebel found two people to be lying witnesses against Naboth. The men are called sons of Belial, I Kings 21:10. These people are violators of justice who spread falsehood and Yahweh does not like this behavior, which is why a bold public rebuke is important.

Proverbs 6:19 G2532 and G1967.2 brings in addition G2920 judicial cases G303.1 between G80 brethren.

These lying witnesses bring the innocent to court. We have seen this very thing happening in our present day, an accuser claiming someone was colluding with an enemy. The reality is the accuser is guilty of the very things they claim someone else did. False witnesses spreading falsehoods and starting fires of deceit against those who are in right standing with Yahweh. It is almost as if Solomon was writing this for our day. Where is the army of the Lord? Where are the children of the Living God? Are the children of the Most High still wondering if people can really be evil? If these are the schemes of the enemy, why isn’t there a unified march to spiritually subdue these evil people and their blatantly corrupt and twisted hearts and souls? Solomon called out the previous generation.

Wisdom of Solomon 12:3-7 (DRV)
3  For those ancient inhabitants of thy holy land, whom thou didst abhor,
4  Because they did works hateful to thee by their sorceries, and wicked sacrifices,
5  And those merciless murderers of their own children, and eaters of men's bowels, and devourers of blood from the midst of thy consecration,
6  And those parents sacrificing with their own hands helpless souls, it was thy will to destroy by the hands of our parents,
7  That the land which of all is most dear to thee might receive a worthy colony of the children of God.

It was the perspective of David and Solomon that they would turn the nation of Israel around for the Lord. They believed that building the temple would be the thing that united the nation in a positive way for Yahweh. It was their hope that with the temple the people would put off their evil ways, having a place to worship the Living God. But there were evil people in their day and it flourished again after Solomon’s death.

Proverbs 2:13 Alas for those who forsake right paths, to walk in ways of darkness; 14 who rejoice in evils, and delight in wicked perverseness; 15 whose paths are crooked, and their courses winding; 16 to remove thee far from the straight way, and to estrange thee from a righteous purpose. My son, let not evil counsel overtake thee, 17 of her who has forsaken the instruction of her youth, and forgotten the covenant of God. 18 For she has fixed her house near death, and guided her wheels near Hades with the giants. 19 None that go by her shall return, neither shall they take hold of right paths, for they are not apprehended of the years of life. 20 For had they gone in good paths, they would have found the paths of righteousness easy. 21 For the upright shall dwell in the earth, and the holy shall be left behind in it. 22 The paths of the ungodly shall perish out of the earth, and transgressors shall be driven away from it.

Notice the reference to fixing their house near death and that their course of action is near Hades along with the earthborn giants. People whose ways are warped bring their dwelling and their household near death. Their actions are near to Hades. Imagine a path that one would walk that is close to death and Hades. The evil people put their homes along that path. This is the same path that the earthborn giants, the Nephilim, took. Remember why their fathers fell? The fallen angels, the incorporeal satan, and other spiritual beings intentionally wanted to follow the devil. No one who lives and walks along this path returns to the righteous paths. They have twisted hearts and souls that become irretrievably severed from Yahweh.

Although the children of wrath live as if they will always be in charge of the earth, they will not. We know from our studies that the children of the Most High will rule and reign with the Lord Jesus, while the heirs of Jacob are brought back to Israel to be proved as to whether they will trust in Jesus as their Lord. For now, we are not to allow evil people all the free-reign on the earth that they want. We are to work together as a united army to subdue evil people and their evil plans. We are to reprove them, as Solomon told us. Paul tells us this as well.

Ephesians 5:11 G2532 And G3361 do not G4790 partake together with G3588 the G2041 [2works G3588   G175 1unfruitful] G3588   G4655 of darkness, G3123 but rather G1161   G2532 also G1651 reprove!
  12 G3588 For the things G1063   G2931 secretly G1096 taking place G5259 by G1473 them, G149 it is shameful G1510.2.3   G2532 even G3004 to speak.
  13 G3588 But G1161   G3956 all G1651 being reproved, G5259 [2by G3588 3the G5457 4light G5319 1are made manifest]; G3956 [4all things G1063 1for G3588 2the thing G5319 3manifesting] G5457 is light. G1510.2.3

Our mission is to expose the unfruitful actions of darkness. There are far too many quiet Christians. We are the ones who should be convicting evil behaviors, exposing evil hearts, evil souls, and evil spirits. Our silence allows evil to continue unhindered. The children of light are to expose the secret shameful things.

Solomon reminds us to keep our feet from evil, or in other words to walk the straight path.

Proverbs 4:27 Turn not aside to the right hand nor to the left, but turn away thy foot from an evil way: [for God knows the ways on the right hand, but those on the left are crooked:] and he will make thy ways straight, and will guide thy steps in peace.

Proverbs 4:27 G3361 You should not turn aside G1578   G1519 unto G3588 the G1188 right G3366 nor G1519 unto G3588 the G710 left; G654 but turn G1161   G4674 your G4228 foot G575 from G3598 [2way G2556 1an evil]! G3598 For the ways, G1063   G3588 the ones G1537 of G1188 the right, G1492 [2knows G3588   G2316 1God]; G1294 but the ones perverting G1161   G1510.2.6 are G3588   G1537 of G710 the left; G1473 but he G1161   G3717 [3straight G4160 1makes G3588   G5163 2your tracks], G1473   G3588   G1161 and G4197 [2your goings G1473   G1722 3in G1515 4peace G4254 1he shall lead before]

The idea is not to turn off the path of the Lord. Evil people are perverting the way on the left, and Yahweh sees it all and knows it all. The right hand path is a place of honor. The left hand path is comparatively the path that the crooked take. If one is filled with the Holy Spirit then that one is on an honorable path. Our goal is to make disciples, but we must realize that there are some people who refuse Yahweh and follow the devil, worshipping the baal’s and themselves. If their heart and soul are distorted, perverted, and twisted, those individuals will be severed. Yet we can subdue them. Remember that we have exousia and dunamis. We have the authority as super human potentates over evil people, evil spirits, and the elements. We can boldly expose their schemes so that we can have peace in our cities, countries, and worldwide. Arise Church in boldness for Yahweh, the Most High Living God.
