Run to Yahweh; False Hope in Dead Things; Elijah the Priest; True to Your Word

When we start a new year we think about what our personal theme for the year might be. One theme we cannot fail with is “Run to Yahweh”. If this year we set our heart and soul on running to Yahweh, we will be blessed. Our first order of business in this new year is understanding faith and hope, and to put away wishes. There is believing, there is expecting, and there is wishing. There is no magic about hope and faith, it is simply part of every believers’ life. But there is a line that must be observed between believing and wishing. Wishing usually stems from lusts or desires of our own whereas faith and expectation stem from what Yahweh has told us. Our expectation is not in what we want but it is in Yahweh himself. The best way for us to know that something is from Yahweh is to run to Yahweh in everything. Elijah is a great example for us to follow. Elijah was a Nazarene Zadok/Zedek priest out of Heshbon, the city of Levites. If we want to change the world we have to start with the church. Judgment must start with us. We individually must judge ourselves as if we are going to meet Jesus within the hour.

How far would you run to find Yahweh? It is a funny question as today no one “runs” to find Yahweh. People run for exercise and fitness but not to find Yahweh. However, if there was a place where we knew that Yahweh showed up for someone else would we also run there to find Yahweh? Elijah did. Elijah was hearing from Yahweh regularly. He performed miracles and killed the prophets of Baal. Jezebel was threatening Elijah’s life and it seems that he wasn’t hearing his next directions. Was Yahweh quiet? Was Yahweh trying to see what Elijah would do next? We know what Elijah did. Elijah ran 411 miles. He ran to Horeb, to find Yahweh. Elijah did not walk. He did not stroll. He did not hitch a ride in a caravan. Elijah ran.

Today we might take modern transportation, like a plane and/or a car, to the place where we believe that Yahweh will show up. This shows the desperation that Elijah had for Yahweh. I’m not sure that in our age of the fat, happy, and blind church that we would make any effort to find Yahweh. Are we lazy? Are we tired? Elijah and his servant were probably exhausted from killing the false prophets, but they ran anyway. Elijah didn’t run alone, his servant, the boy he raised from the dead, went part of the way with him. The boy/servant was from Sarepta/Zarephath/Tsarpath, the place that his mother hid Elijah in her attic. At times we may need someone to run with us, just to encourage us along the way. We might ask ourselves if we would be a running partner for someone else. Would/Could we do that for another person?

Once Elijah gets to Horeb he goes into a cave and rests. Horeb makes up the entire region of Mount Sinai, Jebel Musa, the mountain of Moses. Why did he go there? Was Elijah thinking that Yahweh would speak to him there? If the ten commandments were given there could Yahweh visit again?

1 Kings 19:9 G2532 And G1525 he entered G1563 there G1519 into G3588 the G4693 cave, G2532 and G2647 rested up G1563 there. G2532 And G2400 behold, G4487 a word G2962 of the lord G4314 came to G1473 him. G2532 And G2036 he said, G5100 Why are G1473 you G1778.2 here, G* Elijah?

Elijah received a rhēma, an utterance, from Yahweh. He was right, Yahweh was speaking to him there. Yahweh wants to know why he is at mount Horeb. Apparently Yahweh didn’t tell him to go there. Yahweh will ask him again after some surprising commotions.

What is fascinating is that Elijah has a word from Yahweh. Technically he can leave now. But Yahweh asks a funny question when they meet face to face. Yahweh sees the effort that he made, running 411 miles, and he will reveal himself to Elijah. But does Elijah see him?

1 Kings 19:10 G2532 And G2036 Elijah said, G*   G2206 Being zealous, G2206 I am zealous G3588 for the G2962 lord G3841 almighty, G3754 for G1459 [4abandoned G1473 5you G3588 1the G5207 2sons G* 3of Israel]. G3588   G2379 Your altar G1473   G2679 they razed, G2532 and G3588   G4396 your prophets G1473   G615 they killed G1722 by G4501 the broadsword, G2532 and G5275 [3am left G1473 1I G3441 2alone], G2532 and G2212 they seek G3588   G5590 my life G1473   G2983 to take G1473 it.

Elijah says “Zealous zealous Yahweh Pantokratōr”. Pantokratōr is a compound word meaning “all” and “mighty”. Elijah went to Horeb because he is zealous or excited about Yahweh All Mighty. It must have seemed to Elijah that if Moses received the commandments there then Elijah could hear from Yahweh too. Elijah tells Yahweh that Israel abandoned Him, Yahweh. He believes that he himself is all alone because Elijah thinks that Jezebel killed all of the prophets of Yahweh. Yahweh has directions for Elijah.

Elijah, the Nazarene Zadok/Zedek Priest, explains to Yahweh that he is zealous, repeated twice, thus it’s established. Elijah seeks, and desires eagerly, Yahweh. That is why he ran. Elijah is eager for Yahweh. Are we eager for Yahweh? Are we desperate for Him? Even if the world we live in is circling the drain like it did for Elijah we have one place to go, to Yahweh. Yahweh tells Elijah what to do next.

1 Kings 19:11 G2532 And G2036 he said, G1831 You shall go forth G2532 and G2476 stand G1799 before G2962 the lord G1722 in G3588 the G3735 mountain! G2532 and G2400 behold, G2962 the lord G3928 will go by…

Elijah is to “come out” and “stand”, histēmi, “before the face of”, enōpion, Yahweh in the mountain. Yahweh told him to come out to the front of the cave to stand in the face of Yahweh because Yahweh was coming for a visit. Yahweh will pass by. Yahweh is already talking to Elijah, but now Yahweh is going to come in person. When Yahweh shows up it is unmistakable.

At this point Elijah didn’t need the visitation but he was found worthy. Elijah is an incredible believer. His faith and his expectation in Yahweh are amazing. Elijah the priest performed many miracles among the nation that turned its back on Yahweh. The people were mixing among the surrounding nations. The people did not worship Yahweh, and by this time Ahab had destroyed the altars for sacrifice in the region. There was no place to atone for sin. Yet Yahweh was hiding prophets in caves. Elijah thought that he was the only one left who served Yahweh.

...G2532 And G4151 [3wind G3173 1 there was a great G2900 2strong] G1262 parting G3735 the mountains, G2532 and G4937 breaking G4073 rocks G1799 before G2962 the lord; G3756 [2 was not G1722 3in G3588 4the G4151 5wind G2962 1 but the lord]. G2532 And G3326 after G3588 the G4151 wind G4952.2 a rumbling; G3756 [2 was not G1722 3in G3588 4the G4952.2 5rumbling G2962 1 but the lord].

There was a wind so strong that it dispersed the mountains and crushed rocks, or was it actually the Holy Spirit? The words megas krataios pneuma can be a great powerful wind or a great powerful spirit. The Holy Spirit came and dispersed mountains and crushed rocks before the face of Yahweh. The word “before”, enōpion, means “in the face” or “before the face of” or “in the presence of”. The wind came before the presence of the Lord. Read this as the time or the sequence of the event, the wind came before the face of Yahweh was seen. Yahweh was not in the wind, the Holy Spirit was.

The next thing that happened was a rumbling or a concussion, sysseismón. This is not quite the word for earthquake, seismos, it was something more, like a violent convulsion in the atmosphere. The rumbling was not coming from the earth. Because Elijah had heard this sound before then he would not have been alarmed when he heard it again. It was common knowledge that when Yahweh shows up there is rumbling, sysseismón

The Greek is very specific; they differentiate sysseismón from an actual earthquake. It is the sound and the violent convulsing coming from heaven not from within the earth. It comes from above the ground, not from below the earth’s surface up to the surface of the earth. The rumbling is a sonic boom. A sonic boom is a shock wave from something traveling through air faster than the speed of sound. Think lightning. When Yahweh and the military show up they travel faster than the speed of sound. Yahweh was not in the sonic boom. Elijah is saying that he saw the effects of the wind, but did not see Yahweh. He heard the sonic boom but did not see Yahweh.

Imagine standing in a cave hearing rocks falling and a sonic boom. There is nothing quiet about Yahweh showing up. Yahweh is deafening. The privilege of a visit with Yahweh is more than we understand. It is a big deal. Elijah had the rhēma from Yahweh, but Yahweh wanted to bless Elijah with a visit. We can see why Elijah is chosen to come back with Enoch during the tribulation, because Elijah ran to find Yahweh.

1 Kings 19:12 G2532 And G3326 after G3588 the G4952.2 rumbling G4442 a fire; G3756 [2 was not G1722 3in G3588 4the G4442 5fire G2962 1 but the lord]. G2532 And G3326 after G3588 the G4442 fire G5456 a sound G838.1 [2breeze G3016 1of a fine] -- G1563 there was G2962 the lord .

Yahweh was not in the noise of a sonic boom, he travels ahead of the speed of sound. The cracking of the atmosphere around him is like a bolt of lightning striking a tree. After the rumbling there was a fire or lightning. Yahweh was not in the fire. Elijah did not see Yahweh as the lightning was striking.

Then there was a voice or sound of a light aura, not a breeze, an aura. Late middle English used the word aura as a “breeze” or “breath”. We could think of it as spirit like pneuma, an apparition with no form, just light or color. It would look like an incorporeal being, air, aether, fire, or light. The tone, phōnē, of a small aura in that place was Yahweh.

The writer who told of these events is trying to express the exactness of Yahweh’s passing by. There was a wind, but that was not Yahweh; there was a sonic boom, but that was not Yahweh; there was lightning, but that was not Yahweh; then finally there was a light sounding aura, then there was Yahweh. The point is not that Yahweh is a small light aura, but that after the big commotion everything settled down, and that is when Yahweh was seen.

We have tried to be philosophical about this chain of events, but let’s put them together literally. First there was a mega strong Spirit that moved and crushed rocks, a sonic boom, lightning, and a light sound aura. It sounds more like something broke into the atmosphere displacing the rocks and the mountains, it created a sonic boom as it entered and was heard after it entered, and it had fire, like the lightning chariots, and then everything calmed down and there was sound or language from a small aura or a glow. And “there”, “in that place”, “yonder”, “tither”, ekei, was Yahweh. There was no “still small voice”, there was a loud sound-barrier shaking and quaking with lightning, and then a distinctive tone in the atmosphere, and then Yahweh was perceived. It was Yahweh meeting with Elijah face to face.

We have all heard the sermons about “God is in the still small voice” but that is technically incorrect. He may speak to us quietly, but notice what happened, he was speaking to Elijah. Elijah told Yahweh why he was there at Horeb. Elijah told Yahweh that Israel, the northern kingdom, deserted Yahweh. They were conversing. Elijah wasn’t looking for a “still small voice”, he was already communicating with Yahweh.

Yahweh didn’t come in a quiet voice that we have to strain to hear, he came loud and proud. He came with a convulsive commotion. He told Elijah to go and stand before Yahweh, then he came with enough power to knock Elijah’s socks off. This is a little different than Moses seeing the backside of Yahweh’s glory. This is an event like lightning striking the hillside, and there is Yahweh.

Elijah is ready to meet Yahweh so he does something rather odd. Elijah covers his face with his sheepskin, not a veil that that he could see through, but a dense leathery and woolen covering. We see Elijah’s priestly humility. He does not walk up to Yahweh as if they are on equal terms. We in the church have a pride problem in the way that we approach Yahweh. Elijah is our example. We are not worthy to stand before Yahweh as if we are something special, we are truly dust to our Creator. We should be respectful of our position in the universe, before the Creator.

1 Kings 19:13 G2532 And G1096 it came to pass G5613 as G191 Elijah heard, G*   G2532 that G1943 he covered over G3588   G4383 his face G1473   G1722 with G3588   G3374 his sheepskin, G1473   G2532 and G1831 he went forth G2532 and G2476 stood G3844 by G3588 the G4693 cave. G2532 And G2400 behold, G4314 before G1473 him G5456 was a voice, G2532 and G2036 he said, G5100 Why are G1473 you G1778.2 here, G* Elijah?

As Elijah comprehends what is going on he covers his face and went out and stood alongside the cave. Now remember, Elijah doesn’t actually see Yahweh because he has his sheepskin over his head. Coming towards Elijah was a sound/voice/tone/language that said “Why you here Elijah?” It’s kind of comical. Yahweh was already talking to Elijah and had asked why he was there at Horeb. Then he told Elijah that he would pass by. Yahweh shows up after a violent commotion and asks Elijah why he is there. It’s funny. Elijah knows that this is Yahweh as Yahweh asked the same question that he asked before. Elijah says nearly the same thing that he had said before. He has two additions.

1 Kings 19:14 G2532 And G2036 Elijah said, G*   G2206 Being zealous, G2206 I am zealous G3588 for the G2962 lord G2316 God G3841 almighty, G3754 for G1459 [4abandoned G3588   G1242 5your covenant G1473   G3588 1the G5207 2sons G* 3of Israel], G3588   G2379 your altars G1473   G2679 they razed, G2532 and G3588   G4396 your prophets G1473   G615 they killed G1722 by G4501 the broadsword, G2532 and G5275 [3am left G1473 1I G3441 2alone], G2532 and G2212 they seek G3588   G5590 my life G1473   G2983 to take G1473 it.

Elijah says “Zealous zealous Yahweh Elohim Pantokratōr”. Elijah adds Elohim to Yahweh’s title. Then Elijah says that Israel abandoned Yahweh’s covenant, instead of what he said before, that Israel abandoned Him. Maybe it made more sense in the presence of Yahweh to clarify that it was the covenant and not Yahweh being rejected personally. Elijah again explains that the Israelites destroyed the altars of sacrifice. Remember that the temple was in Judah, not in the northern kingdom. Elijah believes that all the prophets were murdered. He believes that he is alone and that they are going to kill him. Yahweh gives Elijah an assignment.

With a leathery woolen skin over his face Elijah again establishes that he is eagerly seeking and desiring Yahweh. He doesn’t stand barefaced wagging his finger at Yahweh, he stands in humility. Elijah doesn’t actually see Yahweh, but he sees the aura or glow around Yahweh, as Elijah looks at the ground toward Yahweh’s direction. He expects Yahweh to answer, and give directions. It is not that Elijah is afraid to die at the hand of Jezebel, he already knows that he will be taken up by Yahweh, and that there is nothing Jezebel can do to harm him. Elijah is really seeking direction because he doesn’t think that there are any prophets who will call the people to come back to Yahweh.

1 Kings 19:15 G2532 And G2036 the lord said G2962   G4314 to G1473 him, G4198 Go, G390 return G1519 to G3588   G3598 your journey! G1473   G2532 And G2240 you shall come G1519 unto G3588 the G3598 way G2048 of the wilderness G* of Damascus, G2532 and G5548 you shall anoint G3588   G* Hazael G1519 as G935 king G1909 over G* Syria.

Yahweh says “travel, return, or turn around, into the road, and you come into the deserted road to Damascus”. Elijah is now going through the wilderness of Jordan to Damascus, Syria, which is around 415 miles distant. Hopefully he hitched a ride with merchants or traders. He is told to anoint Hazael as king over Syria.

1 Kings 19:16 G2532 And G3588   G* Jehu G5207 son G* of Nimshi G5548 you shall anoint G1519 as G935 king G1909 over G* Israel. G2532 And G3588   G* Elisha G5207 son G* of Shaphat G1537 of G* Abel-meholah G5548 you shall anoint G1519 as G4396 prophet G473 instead of G1473 you.

Elijah is to anoint Jehu as king over Israel. He is also supposed to anoint Elisha as a prophet as a substitute for himself. It would seem that Elijah knows he is leaving the earth soon. Yahweh already told him that he was going to be taken up in a chariot of lightning. People knew that prophecy about Elijah before he left Heshbon. Yahweh continues.

1 Kings 19:17 G2532 And G1510.8.3 it will be G3588 the G4982 one being delivered G1537 from G4501 the broadsword G* of Hazael, G2289 Jehu shall put to death. G*   G2532 And G3588 the G4982 one being delivered G1537 from G4501 the broadsword G* of Jehu, G2289 Elisha shall put to death. G*

Yahweh is going to do some housecleaning in the north. He wants Hazael to start the process, Jehu will continue the process, and then Elisha will finish the process. All of which takes place after Elijah is taken up. This is why Elijah needed direction, he needed to know what to do next. His run of 411 miles to find Yahweh was not about himself, it was about a plan for the nation of Israel. Elijah is our example. Run to Yahweh.

We want to look at some strange ideas that have crept into the church and what we might do to get ourselves on the right track for Yahweh. Our righteousness is revealed in us from out of acceptance to loyalty and that the just live from out of persuasion (Romans 1). Also, our persuasion is understanding expectation, deeds proof not seen (Hebrews 11). Faith and hope are interconnected, they work together, and we understand that what we do not see yet will still take place. Elijah went to Horeb with faith and expectation that he would hear from Yahweh.

There is an odd translation in Proverbs that people seem to use to dissuade others from hope/expectation. This is communicated incorrectly because of the misunderstanding of faith, hope, and wishing.

Pro 13:12  Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

The way this reads, it sounds as if someone is hoping for something but doesn’t get what he/she hopes for they become heart sick. However they become well if their desire comes to pass. We have to differentiate between what we need and what we lust for. Plus a poor translation makes it sound like Yahweh wants us heart sick and just strings us along when it comes to our desires. Let’s look at a correct translation.

Pro 13:12  Better is he that begins to help heartily, than he that promises and leads another to hope: for a good desire is a tree of life.

Solomon is talking to people who say that they will do something but don’t. In other words, people who say that they will come over and help plant a field do not show up. They are the problem. They give false hope. Instead  we should all help one another from the heart. We could correctly teach this verse in church to help people understand not to give false hope, or say that they will do something that they do not really want to do. Stay true to your word.

Proverbs 13:12 G2908 Better G1728 is the one commencing G997 help G2588 in heart, G3588 than the one G1861 promising, G2532 and G1519 [2to G1680 3hope G71 1leads another]; G1186 [4 is a tree G1063 1for G2222 5of life G1939 3desire G18 2a good].

“More excellent commence on aid the heart the promise and lead into expectation for good desire/longing tree living”

Do not promise to do something and then fail to show up. The person who does promise and shows up is like a living tree. Solomon has a lengthy bit of wisdom explaining our problem with false hope. Solomon explains to us the process as to how we may become misled. In his examples, Solomon is speaking about those who make up their own “gods”, and while we do not make up our own “god” we can be misled by culture to think non-biblically about the Elohim. Solomon calls their hope “dead hope”, and yet there have been times when our hope or expectation was also amiss.

Wis 13:10  But miserable are they, and in dead things is their hope, who call them gods, which are the works of men's hands, gold and silver, to shew art in, and resemblances of beasts, or a stone good for nothing, the work of an ancient hand.

Solomon tells us that there are people who make their own gods. Sometimes it is called art. People were artistic back in Solomon’s time, as they are today. Art can be inspiring towards Yahweh or uninspiring towards Yahweh. In this case people made art then worshipped it.

Have you ever had an idea about Yahweh that was incorrect? How did that thought come to you? An example would be someone who thinks that if they believe hard enough somehow God will move in their situation. We don’t believe hard for Yahweh to move, we ask Yahweh were to go, and then we move. There was a time in the Body of Christ when people would cut a picture of a model out of a magazine, then paste their own face on that magazine picture. They thought that if they could picture themselves thin that their “believing” and “visualizing” would make them thin. Actually, not eating empty calories and junk food will help with that. This is not faith and hope this is wishing. Mental gymnastics will not make one slim. Our mind has no power outside of itself. Yahweh is not a genie in a bottle, and no amount of wishing will make something come to pass. We are to submit ourselves to Yahweh, then we do what he says. Solomon continues.

Wis 13:11  Now a carpenter that felleth timber, after he hath sawn down a tree meet for the purpose, and taken off all the bark skilfully round about, and hath wrought it handsomely, and made a vessel thereof fit for the service of man's life;

Wis 13:12  And after spending the refuse of his work to dress his meat, hath filled himself;

Wis 13:13  And taking the very refuse among those which served to no use, being a crooked piece of wood, and full of knots, hath carved it diligently, when he had nothing else to do, and formed it by the skill of his understanding, and fashioned it to the image of a man;

Wis 13:14  Or made it like some vile beast, laying it over with vermilion, and with paint colouring it red, and covering every spot therein;

Solomon is saying someone used scrap wood and made something out of it.

Wis 13:15  And when he had made a convenient room for it, set it in a wall, and made it fast with iron:

Wis 13:16  For he provided for it that it might not fall, knowing that it was unable to help itself; for it is an image, and hath need of help:

The man then hangs his scrap wood artwork on the wall making sure it is held up appropriately because he doesn’t want it to fall down. Obviously it cannot hang itself or hold itself up. This handmade god is pretty worthless.

Wis 13:17  Then maketh he prayer for his goods, for his wife and children, and is not ashamed to speak to that which hath no life.

Then he prays to his scrap wood artwork. There was a time when people would hang a picture on a wall of a car they wanted. They would look at the picture and pray about receiving that car. Although they did not pray “to” the car, they prayed “about” the car. The idea was that God can give us a car that we want. Again this is called wishing. Wishing is desiring or lusting for something.  Mental gymnastics. We have limited Yahweh to a narrow parameter with our wishes rather than asking Yahweh for whatever the best car might be for us. We have a problem when we focus our energies on a “thing”. We then cannot be grateful and thankful for something that is not that “thing”. Wishing is not faith, trust, or persuasion, it is not hope or expectation. Instead, “Zealous, Zealous”, we should be for Yahweh.

Wis 13:18  For health he calleth upon that which is weak: for life prayeth to that which is dead; for aid humbly beseecheth that which hath least means to help: and for a good journey he asketh of that which cannot set a foot forward:

Wis 13:19  And for gaining and getting, and for good success of his hands, asketh ability to do of him, that is most unable to do any thing.

Solomon is quite logical. Hope is expectation. When we have hope that Yahweh will provide, we have an expectation that Yahweh will provide. We can rely on Yahweh. We cannot rely on magazine pictures of other people’s bodies and pictures of cars to force our mind to produce a result. Believing is faith, but not faith in the world, it is faith in Yahweh. We grow from acceptance to loyalty. Solomon gives us another example.

Wis 14:1  Again, one preparing himself to sail, and about to pass through the raging waves, calleth upon a piece of wood more rotten than the vessel that carrieth him.

A piece of wood more rotten than the boat? Solomon is getting stronger with his words.

Wis 14:2  For verily desire of gain devised that, and the workman built it by his skill.

It is for the desire of gain that the workman devised the rotten wood and it was was made an idol. What would happen if we received the things we want, by somehow sending telekinetic waves into the universe to obtain them? We would be asking Satanas, the prince of the power of the air to give us our desires of gain. Our mental gymnastics would “conjure” the god of this world, the ruler of the darkness to strike a deal with us. Our desire granted for our soul.

Wis 14:3  But thy providence, O Father, governeth it: for thou hast made a way in the sea, and a safe path in the waves;

Wis 14:4  Shewing that thou canst save from all danger: yea, though a man went to sea without art.

Yahweh makes a way in the sea. If there is something that we desire, we can follow Yahweh’s direction, which may include doing hard things, like learning self control with food and discipline with money. So we do not need “art” to inspire us.

Wis 14:5  Nevertheless thou wouldest not that the works of thy wisdom should be idle, and therefore do men commit their lives to a small piece of wood, and passing the rough sea in a weak vessel are saved.

Yahweh’s protection for his people is for those who understand his wisdom. If Yahweh says to get into the boat, then do not try to get on a plane instead. He has you covered if He tells you to set sail.

Wis 14:6  For in the old time also, when the proud giants perished, the hope of the world governed by thy hand escaped in a weak vessel, and left to all ages a seed of generation.

Noah and his family were the hope of the world and they escaped in a weak vessel. I’m sure that the waters were rough and the waves pushed that boat around quite a bit. Yahweh doesn’t promise calm seas, but he does promise a way through the storm.

Wis 14:7  For blessed is the wood whereby righteousness cometh.

Wis 14:8  But that which is made with hands is cursed, as well it, as he that made it: he, because he made it; and it, because, being corruptible, it was called god.

A corruptible being cannot make “god”. Making something on earth is already corruptible. If we beg and plead for Yahweh to do something for us, and it is a shortcut, Satanas will probably answer.

Sometimes our base desire is to be married. This is an area where Satanas easily deceives the lonely. There are people who believe that they are going to marry someone because it is their own desire. But Yahweh will not override another person’s freedom of will. Yet some people will claim that Yahweh told them they would marry so-in-so. This is not how Yahweh works. Just because you wish it to come to pass does not mean it will. This idea of wishing for one particular person is wrong. Trust Yahweh instead to provide the right person to marry.

Elijah did not feel that he could wait in Jezreel for direction from Yahweh so he ran to Yahweh. We have to be willing to run 411 miles to get an answer. We have to stop thinking that we can wish for things and make it so. We have to pursue Yahweh for the answer. Someone wrote a song that was sung on the steps ascending to the altar of sacrifice, possibly David. If we don’t have the answer that we need we can endure or we can run.

Psalms 130:5 G5278 [2waited G3588   G5590 1My soul] G1473   G1519 for G3588   G3056 your word. G1473

“My breath life endured/stand my ground into your logos. My breath life hope/expect/trust on Yahweh from early morning guard as far as nighttime.”

This song for ascending to the altar of sacrifice for atonement was a reminder for people to mentally endure. If you have to run 411 miles to talk with Yahweh, endure the hardness. If you want or need something from Yahweh then instead of wishing, begging, pleading, visualizing, and trying mental gymnastics, ask him to provide what you need, and with persuasion and expectation let Yahweh fulfill what you need. It will always be far more than you can ask or think. Run. Run to Yahweh. Run hard and run fast. He will show up for you.
