Terms and Conditions; Promises Forfeited; Melchizedek’s Order; Requirement of Faith and Confession

What it would be like to hear the voice of Yahweh Elohim speaking to an entire nation? Would we believe what he said and would we be motivated to follow through on doing what he said? The Israelites heard Yahweh Elohim speak and yet shortly after hearing him they decided not to follow Yahweh Elohim. Yahweh loves all people, that is unconditional. While Yahweh Elohim’s love is unconditional and his salvation is available to everyone, we have to choose to do what he established in order to receive salvation. There are conditions to receiving what Yahweh has for us. Faith is one requirement. Today confession is another. If we deny his plan then there is no other way to receive what he has for us. We humans act like toddlers negotiating for a later bed time or another cookie. Yahweh establishes one way, then humans try five different ways to get the result that Yahweh promised. It does not work that way. Promises are conditional. We have to do exactly what we are asked to in the age when we are asked to do it in order to receive the benefits that we are promised. It is always our choice. Love is unconditional. Grace and mercy are for his saints, while the ungodly receive the punishment of their own evil. These are the terms and conditions that we live under. Yahweh changes his promises when the terms are unfulfilled. Yahweh also changes his promises when the age is going to change.

Wis 3:9  They that put their trust in him shall understand the truth: and such as be faithful in love shall abide with him: for grace and mercy is to his saints, and he hath care for his elect.

Wis 3:10  But the ungodly shall be punished according to their own imaginations, which have neglected the righteous, and forsaken the Lord.

Unearned favor is for the saints. Mercy or compassion is for the saints as well. The conditional part is becoming a saint verses being an unbeliever. Paul explains in Romans.

Romans 9:14 What shall we conclude then? Is there injustice upon God’s part? Certainly not!

15 For He says to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy and I will have compassion (pity) on whom I will have compassion. [Exod. 33:19.]

16 So then [God’s gift] is not a question of human will and human effort, but of God’s mercy. [It depends not on one’s own willingness nor on his strenuous exertion as in running a race, but on God’s having mercy on him.]

Compassion is un-earnable, meaning we can’t do things to earn it, like repetitive prayers or ritual service. We become children of the Elohim by faith. Faith is what is required for salvation. Humans received mercy by allowing the nations to come into salvation and by faith humans are saved.

Romans 9:30 What shall we say then? That Gentiles nations who did not follow after righteousness [who did not seek salvation by right relationship to God] have attained it by faith [a righteousness imputed by God, based on and produced by faith],

31 Whereas Israel, though ever in pursuit of a law [for the securing] of righteousness (right standing with God), actually did not succeed in fulfilling the Law. [Isa. 51:1.]

32 For what reason? Because [they pursued it] not through faith, relying [instead] on the merit of their works [they did not depend on faith but on what they could do]. They have stumbled over the Stumbling Stone. [Isa. 8:14; 28:16.]

33 As it is written, Behold I am laying in Zion a Stone that will make men stumble, a Rock that will make them fall; but he who believes in Him [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] shall not be put to shame nor be disappointed in his expectations. [Isa. 28:16.]

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Ro 9:14–33.

The nations attained to salvation by faith, but the Jews continue to pursue works. Therefore by faith the nations receive, while the unbelieving do not. Faith is one condition that is met for salvation. Paul will explain shortly.

Yahweh Elohim gave the Israelites many opportunities to believe on Him but what we see is that they denied him repeatedly. When the exodus group made it to Sinai, Moses went to talk to Yahweh Elohim on mount Sinai. Yahweh gave Moses instructions.

Exodus 19:1 IN THE third month after the Israelites left the land of Egypt, the same day, they came into the Wilderness of Sinai.

2 When they had departed from Rephidim and had come to the Wilderness of Sinai, they encamped there before the mountain.

3 And Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him out of the mountain, Say this to the house of Jacob and tell the Israelites:

4 You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.

5 Now therefore, if you will obey My voice in truth and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own peculiar possession and treasure from among and above all peoples; for all the earth is Mine.

6 And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests, a holy nation [consecrated, set apart to the worship of God]. These are the words you shall speak to the Israelites.

7 So Moses called for the elders of the people and told them all these words which the Lord commanded him.

8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that the Lord has spoken we will do. And Moses reported the words of the people to the Lord.

9 And the Lord said to Moses, Behold, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you and believe you and remain steadfast forever. Then Moses told the words of the people to the Lord.

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Ex 19:1–9.

Here is what Moses told the Israelites. The conditions to all the promises being made are for the Israelites to obey and keep the covenant. Then they will be a peculiar possession, a treasure, and will be a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation.

Exodus 19:5 G2532 And G3568 now, G1437 if G189 in hearing, G191 you should hear G3588   G1699 my G5456 voice, G2532 and G5442 guard G3588   G1242 my covenant, G1473   G1510.8.5 you will be G1473 to me G2992 [2people G4041 1a prized] G575 from G3956 all G3588 the G1484 nations. G1699 [6mine G1063 1For G1510.2.3 5is G3956 2all G3588 3the G1093 4earth].

  6 G1473 And you G1161   G1510.8.5 shall be G1473 to me G934 a royal G2406 priesthood, G2532 and G1484 [2nation G39 1a holy]. G3778 These G3588   G4487 words G2046 you shall say G3588 to the G5207 sons G* of Israel.

If. If they kept the covenant they would be a special people, specially chosen and treasured away from all nations, meaning they would be set apart as extra special. They would be a royal or kingly priesthood. All the people, men, women, and children, would become kingly priests in the order of Melchizedek/Adonizedek, who was Lord of the Zedek/Zadok priests. The entire nation was to be holy, sanctified. Picture this, the entire nation in service to Yahweh Elohim.

Because they did not obey the Elohim’s voice and keep the covenant, they did not become a peculiar possession, a treasure, nor a kingdom of priests, and they did not become a holy nation. Now however, no amount of manipulations can change the terms and conditions, and the promise is past it’s time. On the third morning Yahweh shows up on Sinai and speaks.

Exodus 19:16 The third morning there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast, so that all the people in the camp trembled.

17 Then Moses brought the people from the camp to meet God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.

18 Mount Sinai was wrapped in smoke, for the Lord descended upon it in fire; its smoke ascended like that of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.

19 As the trumpet blast grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and God answered him with a voice. [Deut. 4:12.]

20 The Lord came down upon Mount Sinai to the top of the mountain, and the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Ex 19:16–20.

Now the Elohim speaks all the commands to the people. The people heard what the Elohim spoke.

Exodus 20:1 THEN GOD spoke all these words:

2 I am the Lord your God, Who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 You shall have no other gods before or besides Me.

4 You shall not make yourself any graven image [to worship it] or any likeness of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;

5 You shall not bow down yourself to them or serve them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me, [Isa. 42:8; 48:11.]

6 But showing mercy and steadfast love to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commandments.

7 You shall not use or repeat the name of the Lord your God in vain [that is, lightly or frivolously, in false affirmations or profanely]; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

8 [Earnestly] remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy (withdrawn from common employment and dedicated to God).

9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,

10 But the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, your daughter, your manservant, your maidservant, your domestic animals, or the sojourner within your gates.

11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. That is why the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it [set it apart for His purposes].

12 Regard (treat with honor, due obedience, and courtesy) your father and mother, that your days may be long in the land the Lord your God gives you.

13 You shall not commit murder.

14 You shall not commit adultery. [Prov. 6:25, 26; Matt. 5:28; Rom. 1:24; Eph. 5:3.]

15 You shall not steal. [Prov. 11:1; 16:8; 21:6; 22:16; Jer. 17:11; Mal. 3:8.]

16 You shall not witness falsely against your neighbor. [Exod. 23:1; Prov. 19:9; 24:28.]

17 You shall not covet your neighbor’s house, your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant, or his maidservant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s. [Luke 12:15; Col. 3:5.]

These are the commands that they were to obey. They broke the first command in record time.

Exodus 20:18 Now all the people perceived the thunderings and the lightnings and the noise of the trumpet and the smoking mountain, and as [they] looked they trembled with fear and fell back and stood afar off.

19 And they said to Moses, You speak to us and we will listen, but let not God speak to us, lest we die.

20 And Moses said to the people, Fear not; for God has come to prove you, so that the [reverential] fear of Him may be before you, that you may not sin.

21 And the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was.

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Ex 20:1–21.

The people heard the Elohim speak. They heard all the commands. They ran backwards because they were frightened. They wanted Moses to be a mediator for them. Moses spoke the commands and the precepts of several laws. The Elohim tells Moses to come up and bring the elders. Moses then tells the people what Yahweh Elohim says and they agree to all of it. They agree to the commands, they agree to the other laws about altars, slaves, restitution, societal justice, the sabbath, holy days, and what Yahweh will do for them to enter Canaan. They agree to it all. Moses leaves the people in what he thinks is a good place.

Exodus 24:1 GOD SAID to Moses, Come up to the Lord, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu [Aaron’s sons], and seventy of Israel’s elders, and worship at a distance.

2 Moses alone shall come near the Lord; the others shall not come near, and neither shall the people come up with him.

3 Moses came and told the people all that the Lord had said and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, All that the Lord has spoken we will do.

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Ex 24:1–3.

Now that the people agreed to adhere to the Laws the Elohim gave them, Moses went up the mountain with the elders and Aaron’s two sons. Moses goes further up the mountain and receives the commands on stone tablets. The people thought Moses and the gang were taking too long so they decided to make a golden calf. They transgressed the first command. Yahweh Elohim is mad. The Israelites rejected all they agreed to just a short time earlier when Yahweh came to meet with them. While Moses was receiving the entire blueprint for the nation’s spiritual and societal laws, the people were partying with their new god.

Why did they make their own god? Maybe because this golden calf would not speak to them. Maybe because they appreciated that the dumb idol would stay dumb. Maybe they didn’t like a Holy God who would speak with thunder, lightning, smoke, and trumpets. Maybe the political leaders wanted to stay in their sin, maybe they enjoyed their sin, and maybe they wanted others to partake with them. This Living Almighty Elohim was interrupting their sin. Maybe the evil political rulers convinced everyone to worship a hand made god, so they could continue to manipulate the people into being pawns for their sin.

Exodus 32:17 And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, There is a noise of war in the camp.

18 But Moses said, It is not the sound of shouting for victory, neither is it the sound of the cry of the defeated, but the sound of singing that I hear.

19 And as soon as he came near to the camp he saw the calf and the dancing. And Moses’ anger blazed hot and he cast the tables out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain.

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Ex 32:17–19.

Why were they singing and dancing around a golden calf? What kind of a celebration was this? Was there alcohol and drugs involved? Did the golden calf tell them to do this? If the golden calf didn’t say anything who then prompted the singing and dancing? The people had just agreed to the commands to become a holy nation and now they are worshipping an idol.

Moses gives a recap of all the commands and laws in Deuteronomy. This first promise of what Yahweh Elohim wanted for the nation of Israel was based on them being obedient and faithful to what Yahweh told them to do. They will not be a kingdom of priests, and they will not be a holy nation. They will not receive the benefits of being a peculiar possession or a treasure. Because they weren’t faithful or obedient they would suffer as Moses tells them in chapter 28 of Deuteronomy. Moses tells them what their life would be like if they are obedient and what it will be like if they are not obedient.

Think about what the exodus generation was supposed to look like. They were to be holy, set apart, and royal, in service to Yahweh Elohim, just as Melchizedek, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were. Jacob spent over thirty years in service in the tents of Shem/Melchizedek to Yahweh Elohim. Yahweh did not extract them from Egypt to be a happy ant farm of people, he led them out of Egypt to be an entire nation of priests who would teach the world about Yahweh. Yahweh was bringing them back to Shem/Melchizedek/Adonizedek’s land, where his school was so that they could take up the royal service of Shem. In the future millennial temple the Zedek/Zadok priest will be in service to the Elohim while the Levites will be in re-education on the outside of the temple.

After the Israelites finally entered the promised land they continued to deviate from the covenant. While they were supposed to remember the words Yahweh Elohim spoke instead they rejected Yahweh when they finally got to Canaan. They were basically un-identifiable when they entered the promised land. They went in and out of captivity to the Philistines as Yahweh Elohim’s way of teaching them obedience. Everyone did what was right in their own eyes. Samson married a Philistine woman.

Maybe there were too many Levites for all of them to have work so Jonathan, Moses’s grandson, worked in a house of idols.

The tribe of Benjamin gang raped a Levite’s wife until she died. The other tribes killed off the men of Benjamin.

Then Eli the prophet had two sons who were sleeping with women at the door of the tabernacle. Samuel took up the mantel of Eli and started to bring the nation back to Yahweh Elohim and eventually held a passover. The problem is the majority rules and there are no do-overs. Once the promises are rejected by rejecting Yahweh Elohim, the subsequent generations cannot go back in time to perform ritual works of service and appropriate the promises. There is no temple, so while people can attempt to fulfill the laws, ultimately they will die in their sins. No one can make a blood sacrifice for remission of sins today. Yahweh made another way to receive salvation and to become a holy nation of kings and priests. He has a condition though, it is faith, faith in the Messiah Jesus. Faith is still required.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. [Exod. 19:5, 6.]

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), 1 Pe 2:9.

The promise of being kingly priests and a holy nation was voided in the wilderness. There is no way to appropriate that promise from that time period. However, today there is a way to become a holy nation and kings and priests. Now, anyone who wants to serve in the order of Melchizedek, can. This new nation is not by heredity, it is built by faith.

Revelation 1:6 And formed us into a kingdom (a royal race), priests to His God and Father—to Him be the glory and the power and the majesty and the dominion throughout the ages and forever and ever. Amen (so be it). [Exod. 19:6; Isa. 61:6.]

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Re 1:6.

It is interesting that Yahweh makes this promise to all nations since Israel rejected him. This tells us that it is still Yahweh’s ultimate plan to have a special treasured people, a royal kingly priesthood, and a sacred nation.

Another requirement is confession with our mouth. As we come back to Paul’s continued thoughts from Romans 9 into chapter 10, Paul explains that no one can establish righteousness on their own, we have to submit and obey. There is no distinction between Jew and Greek, but all are the same in Yahweh who bestows riches on anyone who calls on Him in faith.

Romans 10:1 BRETHREN, [with all] my heart’s desire and goodwill for [Israel], I long and pray to God that they may be saved.

2 I bear them witness that they have a [certain] zeal and enthusiasm for God, but it is not enlightened and according to [correct and vital] knowledge.

3 For being ignorant of the righteousness that God ascribes [which makes one acceptable to Him in word, thought, and deed] and seeking to establish a righteousness (a means of salvation) of their own, they did not obey or submit themselves to God’s righteousness.

This is why it is unprofitable to continue in the works of the law. The law cannot be fulfilled without the temple and blood sacrifice. Jesus’ blood was spilled out for anyone who believes. The Messiah is the end of the law. The Messiah fulfilled the law. The Messiah was prophesied over and over again but rejected when he came.

Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the Law [the limit at which it ceases to be, for the Law leads up to Him Who is the fulfillment of its types, and in Him the purpose which it was designed to accomplish is fulfilled. That is, the purpose of the Law is fulfilled in Him] as the means of righteousness (right relationship to God) for everyone who trusts in and adheres to and relies on Him.

5 For Moses writes that the man who [can] practice the righteousness (perfect conformity to God’s will) which is based on the Law [with all its intricate demands] shall live by it. [Lev. 18:5.]

6 But the righteousness based on faith [imputed by God and bringing right relationship with Him] says, Do not say in your heart, Who will ascend into Heaven? that is, to bring Christ down;

7 Or who will descend into the abyss? that is, to bring Christ up from the dead [as if we could be saved by our own efforts]. [Deut. 30:12, 13.]

8 But what does it say? The Word (God’s message in Christ) is near you, on your lips and in your heart; that is, the Word (the message, the basis and object) of faith which we preach, [Deut. 30:14.]

What did Moses say in Deuteronomy 30? If. The qualifier is if. When the majority turns away from Yahweh, His promises are rescinded. There is no way to try and fulfill Yahweh’s commands now. They forfeited the promises by their own choices. The point is simply to have faith now, and confess now. Then salvation is received.

Romans 10:9 Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.

11 The Scripture says, No man who believes in Him [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him] will [ever] be put to shame or be disappointed. [Ps. 34:22; Isa. 28:16; 49:23; Jer. 17:7.]

12 [No one] for there is no distinction between Jew and Greek. The same Lord is Lord over all [of us] and He generously bestows His riches upon all who call upon Him [in faith].

13 For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord [invoking Him as Lord] will be saved. [Joel 2:32.]

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Ro 10:1–13.

There is another requirement congruent to faith. It is confession. Everyone calling on the name of Yahweh will be saved because of faith and confession. If we confess Jesus Messiah, Jesus will confess us.

Matthew 10:32 Therefore, everyone who acknowledges Me before men and confesses Me [out of a state of oneness with Me], I will also acknowledge him before My Father Who is in heaven and confess [that I am abiding in] him.

33 But whoever denies and disowns Me before men, I also will deny and disown him before My Father Who is in heaven.

34 Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Mt 10:32–34.

Jesus is talking about bringing a sword because confessing Jesus as Messiah will divide people, families, and friends. In our time, Yahweh is not expecting an entire nation or a majority of people in a nation to confess so that everyone else receives the blessings and salvation, it is individuals who believe and confess who receive. Hence the sword. We may have friends and family who will be denied and disowned by Jesus Messiah. While this doesn’t sound nice, it is up to each one to choose.

Luke 12:8 And I tell you, Whoever declares openly [speaking out freely] and confesses that he is My worshiper and acknowledges Me before men, the Son of Man also will declare and confess and acknowledge him before the angels of God.

9 But he who disowns and denies and rejects and refuses to acknowledge Me before men will be disowned and denied and rejected and refused acknowledgement in the presence of the angels of God.

10 And everyone who makes a statement or speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit [that is, whoever intentionally comes short of the reverence due the Holy Spirit], it will not be forgiven him [for him there is no forgiveness].

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Lk 12:8–10.

Luke points out that Jesus will confess us before the angels of the Elohim but that even in this age, if we speak against Jesus we will be forgiven. We will not be forgiven if we speak against the Holy Spirit.  We might say that confession is a key element for salvation. Even Ezra spoke about people who have confessed the name of the Elohim.

2Es 2:43  And in the midst of them there was a young man of a high stature, taller than all the rest, and upon every one of their heads he set crowns, and was more exalted; which I marvelled at greatly.

2Es 2:44  So I asked the angel, and said, Sir, what are these?

2Es 2:45  He answered and said unto me, These be they that have put off the mortal clothing, and put on the immortal, and have confessed the name of God: now are they crowned, and receive palms.

Jesus Messiah was prophesied by Ezra so that the Israelites who came back into Judah would receive salvation. They knew what to look for and should have been expecting the Messiah but they rejected him, they wanted a different Messiah. Again there are no do-overs, and no re-negotiations. We can accept the Messiah that he gave as our Lord, or not, it is our choice.

This brings us to the obvious problem of pseudo religions that believe everyone goes to heaven, or claim there is no hell, or that there is a special dispensation for heredity. First and foremost, in our age today, anyone who wants to go to heaven must confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that the Elohim rose him up on the third day. There is no other way to heaven. There are no negotiations or deals to be made.

There is a hell, more specifically Hades. Hades is used eighty two times in seventy nine verses in the AP Polyglot. That would be an awful lot of usages for something that doesn’t exist. And anyone who thinks that Jesus is not the Messiah has a lot to worry about as Jesus is the one who has the keys to death and Hades. Meaning, if one thought that they could just slip quietly into Hades without Jesus noticing then they are mistaken.

Revelation 1:18 And the Ever-living One [I am living in the eternity of the eternities]. I died, but see, I am alive forevermore; and I possess the keys of death and Hades (the realm of the dead).

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Re 1:18.

As to heredity saving someone, it is simply not true. Neither is someone believing that they must bear the iniquities of their forefathers, or in other words, generational curses. There are no generational curses or generational blessings. Yahweh Elohim changed the generational curse to individual responsibility for sins. Ezekiel 18 explains Yahweh’s new rule.

Ezekiel 18:19 Yet do you say, Why does not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son has done that which is lawful and right and has kept all My statutes and has done them, he shall surely live.

20 The soul that sins, it [is the one that] shall die. The son shall not bear and be punished for the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear and be punished for the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him only, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon the wicked only.

21 But if the wicked man turns from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all My statutes and does that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

22 None of his transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; for his righteousness which he has executed [for his moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation], he shall live.

23 Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked? says the Lord, and not rather that he should turn from his evil way and return [to his God] and live?

24 But if the righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? None of his righteous deeds which he has done shall be remembered. In his trespass that he has trespassed and in his sin that he has sinned, in them shall he die.

25 Yet you say, The way of the Lord is not fair and just. Hear now, O house of Israel: Is not My way fair and just? Are not your ways unfair and unjust?

26 When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity and dies in his sins, for his iniquity that he has done he shall die.

27 Again, when the wicked man turns away from his wickedness which he has committed and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his life.

28 Because he considers and turns away from all his transgressions which he has committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

29 Yet says the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not fair and just! O house of Israel, are not My ways fair and just? Are not your ways unfair and unjust?

30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, says the Lord God. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin and so shall they not be a stumbling block to you. [Matt. 3:2; Rev. 2:5.]

31 Cast away from you all your transgressions by which you have transgressed against Me, and make you a new mind and heart and a new spirit. For why will you die, O house of Israel? [Eph. 4:22, 23.]

32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him who dies, says the Lord God. Therefore turn (be converted) and live!

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Eze 18:19–32.

Now why did Yahweh change from what he said in Exodus 20:5, 34:7, Deuteronomy 5:9, and Numbers 14:18? Because the Messiah was coming and would take away the curse of the law. This change was in preparation for the coming of Jesus who would be a payment for all sins, even generational. From this point in Ezekiel everyone was to be responsible for their own sins.

This is why the idea of hereditary dispensational Judaism is not a means to salvation. Even if one wished to follow the Mosaic law there is still no atonement for sin. Yahweh Elohim prescribed one atonement for sin in the tabernacle of Moses which carried over to the temple. Then Yahweh prescribed another method for atonement for sin, based on faith. If one rejects it there is no other method for atonement. We can do all the works we want, but they will not atone for sin.

There is no way to fix what generations before us did regarding obedience to Yahweh Elohim. The covenant they rejected forfeited the promises made. The reboot of Yahweh Elohims desire to have a sacred nation, and a royal priesthood is a promise made to anyone who believes and confesses, which is the order of Melchizedek. Shem established holy service to Yahweh, and Jesus is a Nazarene priest after Shem’s order. By faith we are the kingly priests and a holy nation. Yahweh still desires a sanctified group of people to teach the nations about Him. We have the honor of receiving that promise by our faith and confession.
