Peter planted churches to whom he wrote two letters. We don’t think of Peter as being scholarly but we should. Peter was a well-off businessman in his day. Although Peter was not a religious leader his letters are incredibly deep and filled with knowledge. One of the ideas that Peter presents is that angels peered over the shoulders of the prophets to try and understand what this age would look like. The prophets and people of their era did not receive what we receive today. This causes us to question some things that we don’t normally think about. Why don’t angels know what the future holds? In Peter’s second letter he tells his churches that angels sinned. So with that knowledge in mind we can start to understand why angels were looking over the prophets’ shoulders as they prophesied about the Messiah and our age. We who believe on Jesus as Lord and that he rose up on the third day are being rescued. This rescue is a little different than those who lived under the old covenant. But we have to realize that Jesus Messiah only came to rescue humans, not angels. Peter also tells us that the living logos abides and the rhēma abides, but also that the rhēma is in us. We will compare the AP to the LXX-WH as the LXX-WH is more specific in pronoun use. Also in this letter it is easy to see that translators separated sentences in odd places.
Peter was not a rabbi or a Pharisee. The Pharisees and Counsel at Jerusalem saw the disciples of Jesus as laymen, day workers. Peter, Andrew, James and John were business partners working in the fishing industry and were well off, owning boats and homes. Peter was married to Perpetua, who according to Clement, accompanied Peter on his journeys. Peter and Perpetua also had children. Clement says Perpetua was martyered. Jesus called Peter “a rock”, denoting what he would later become. Peter was not accepted by the religious leaders of his day because he was not one of them. He and John healed a lame man which showed the power of the Holy Spirit working in believers in the Messiah, which was something that the religious leaders could not do.
Peter planted five churches in the region of Asia Minor. He writes his two letters to those churches. While it seems odd to us that Peter lived for a time in Babylon, it really was an important place for Peter to evangelize because there was a large Jewish culture there. Why? Because after the seventy years of captivity, when Babylon was overtaken by Assyria, Babylon became a prosperous city once again. Many people who left Judah in the captivity stayed in Babylon. Some had married people from different races and as we know from Ezra and Nehemiah those families would have been separated if they came back to Jerusalem. What the returning Jews faced was a destroyed wasteland with many hardships to overcome and a rebuilding job. While those that stayed in Babylon continued to grow their business. This is why Peter established Christianity in Babylon and Asia minor.

Peter tells us who he is, “an apostle of Jesus Messiah”. He is writing to eklektos “select" parepidēmos “aliens alongside”, “select people from the side of the country” of the diaspora “dispersion”, or “scattered”. Early on in the church people first witnessed to the scattered Israelites, or the lost sheep of the house of Israel. They had been dispersed during the two captivities and now lived in several different Roman cities. Yet they knew about what happened in Jerusalem as many were probably there for Pentecost. Pontus is in the north of Asia Minor, bordering the Black Sea. Galatia is in central Asia Minor. Cappadocia is in central Asia Minor. Asia is western Asia Minor. Bithynia is north west Asia Minor south west of the Black Sea. These are all Roman provinces north of Syria and south of the Black Sea.

“Downward forethought Elohim Father in purification Spirit into compliance and ceremonial aspersion blood Jesus Messiah. Grace to you and peace increase.”
Downward forethought prognōsis is knowledge received beforehand, downward from heaven to earth. In this case it is regarding the Father Elohim and the purification of the Spirit which is through compliance and the sprinkling of Jesus Messiah’s blood. Peter summarizes this chapter with these three things.
Heb 11:28 Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
Heb 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
There are two things here that the scattered Israelites would understand. The first is the requirement of Passover, the sprinkling of blood to keep the Destroyer away. And Jesus’ blood covenant which is shed for us, for our redemption and forgiveness of sins. Peter is addressing these people with the knowledge of the former, Passover, and the latter, the new covenant.
Heb 10:28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
Jesus’ blood is the pure blood that sanctifies or purifies us once, for all time. Many non-believing Jews rejected Jesus and his blood sacrifice. They will die without mercy. The foreknowledge of Jesus’ blood comes downward from heaven to us. This means that the Jesus rejecters are not connected to heaven, but instead to their own religions.

“Worthy of praise the Elohim and Father, the Yahweh of us Jesus Messiah, the downward the much his compassion births us into expectation alive through raising up Jesus Messiah from out of dead body.”
Jesus’ compassion comes down from heaven and births us into hope/expectation to live. We have confidence/hope to live because Jesus Messiah was raised up with his dead body. Remember the tomb was empty and people heard about it.

“into heirship un-decaying and undefiled and unfading, guarded in heaven into you.”
This statement should be connected to the previous verse. The expectation/hope that we have leads us into inheritance or heirship, which is guarded in heaven for us. In other words, of all the things that one can inherit as an heir of a deceased person, we get an inheritance that doesn’t corrupt, won’t defile and won’t fade. It is everlasting.

“The in miracle power Elohim guarded through faith into rescue ready revealed (apokaluptō) in proper time final.”
The power of the Elohim has been guarded through faith. Meaning that if one does not have faith one does not receive salvation that will be revealed in the proper final time. Even if someone claims that they are saved they may not be and their salvation will be revealed at the harpazo. This is how our rescue is ready or adjusted, according to our own faith.

“in this jump for joy.”
“Briefly now, whether it is necessary to be distressed in various tests.
The first phrase should be attached to the last verse and a new verse started here with “Briefly”. Peter tells the churches to jump for joy or rejoice over our salvation. It is only briefly that we suffer these various tests. Compared to eternity, we are only on the earth briefly. We are tested and tried by Satanas just to make us fall away from Yahweh.

“In that place the testing of your the faith extremely valuable piece of gold the destroy through fire but proved to find into commendation and honor, and value in revealing Jesus Messiah.”
Our testing turns out to be a valuable piece of gold. It won’t be destroyed by fire.
1Co 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1Co 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
1Co 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
1Co 3:14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
1Co 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
Whatever is destroyed by fire is lost, but whatever survives is for commendation, honor, and value in revealing Jesus Messiah. Paul tells us that our foundation is Jesus Messiah, and we are the temple of the Elohim and the Spirit of Elohim dwells in us. Therefore we should not desire the times of testing, but recognize that it will give us more gold or treasure that won’t be destroyed by fire. Testing reveals the Messiah to us.

“This not look upon, love, into this just now not look upon, but believe. Jump for joy, full of joy, joy unspeakable, and glorious.
Although we haven’t seen the Messiah face to face like Peter and the disciples did, we love Him. Even though we can’t look at him now, we believe in him. Peter thinks that we should be jumping for joy, be full of joy, have joy unspeakable and glorious. Why? Because we are rescued.
1 Peter 1:9 G2865 carrying on G3588 the G5056 end G3588 of the G4102 belief G1473 of yours -- G4991 deliverance G5590 of your souls.
“Take care of the fulfillment the faith of your rescue breath life (soul).”
Take care of the fulfillment of our faith regarding salvation. Keep on believing. By doing so Jesus rescues our soul. This is our choice and our decision.

“Around this rescue, investigate and examine carefully, prophets the around the into you grace prophesy.”
Peter says that around this rescue the prophets investigated and examined the future time that we now live in. They did not quite understand what would take place after the Messiah came. What they did know is that it would be a different administration, a time of grace. They believed that Yahweh Messiah would come. In their time they were saved by their belief and by remaining sinless. David declares this and Peter recited it to the people in Jerusalem on Pentecost.
Psa 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
David knew that because of his belief in the coming Messiah he would not be left in Hades, or more specifically, Abraham’s Bay. The prophets understood this. What they did not understand is the coming Holy Spirit.

“Investigate into who or what sort occasion make plain, the in them Spirit of Messiah, witnessed in advance the into Messiah suffering, and the with these things glory.”
The prophets investigated at what time the Spirit of the Messiah would be made plain. Recognize that Daniel prophesied the exact date, via the angel Gabriel, that the Messiah would ride into Jerusalem on a donkey. Daniel was correct. The prophets understood that the Messiah would be killed. They also understood how that would bring glory and salvation. What they didn’t understand is the Holy Spirit residing in every believer.
The prophets looked at this time and realized it was not for them or their time, but for us. They were serving the future Body of Christ by their investigation.

“This revealed that not themselves, to you but, serve thats all this now announce to you through the gospel you in Spirit Holy send out, away from heaven, into this lust after angels lean over (stoop sideways).”
The old testament prophets did not receive the Holy Spirit, sent out, away from, heaven. The Holy Spirit dwelt with or on prophets of the old covenant. If that one sinned, the Hoy Spirit left. We have David pleading not to take the Holy Spirit from him when David was confronted with his sin. The prophets were prophesying of the Messiah, but they did not prophesy about the Holy Spirit dwelling within the one who believes.
Psa 51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.
This is something so important that it was kept as a secret from the other sons of God, but now it is revealed. It is a point of contention in the church that many people reject the Holy Spirit or the gifts of the Spirit. Some churches do not teach the infilling of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. Peter understood the gifts of the spirit, which is why he could speak the words that the Holy Spirit wanted him to, so that a notable miracle would be performed that all could see. Angels do not receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Cherubim do not receive the infilling of the Holy Sprit. Seraphim do not receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Humans who believe on Jesus as Lord and believe that he rose up on the third day receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is part of the Elohim who dwells in us if we believe, and which makes us more powerful than the angels or other sons of the Elohim. We haven’t recognized our position in the universe yet. We humans were created specifically to reveal the multifaceted wisdom of the Elohim.
Eph 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
Eph 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Eph 3:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
Eph 3:11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
There was a plan from the beginning of creation. Some of the sons of the Elohim had been led astray, leading to the destruction of a civilization that Satanas once ruled over, the planet Rahab. Broken into pieces and left as an asteroid belt, we find that Satanas had sanctuaries and trafficked in beings there. Who did he traffic? Angels? Yahweh created a plan, us. When Satanas attempted to usurp the throne of the judgment of Yahweh he was cast down. He wanted to put his throne in the sides of the north to judge the sons of the Elohim, but now he will not judge anyone. Yahweh still meets in the mount of the congregation with the other sons of Elohim, inquiring as to what is taking place on the earth.
We know Drakōns job is to prick, goad, and sport with the angels. His job is to make them fall. This tells us that all beings have freedom of choice. The sons of Elohim all have freedom to choose what they will do and are not robots controlled by someone else. Satanas (an Incorporeal) fell, then stole creation from the adam. Yahweh knew exactly what would take place, He made a way to judge all the fallen beings. He made us. They will all be judged by us and in regards to us. We have the higher power of the Elohim in us. We are the plan. This is why angels were reading the writings of the prophets.
What an incredible statement; angels lust, stooping sideways, to peek at this knowledge as the prophets write it. Angels are not privy to the Elohims plans. Never think that angels know more than we do or that they have the same knowledge we do. They can read just like us. Angels can deliver a message from Yahweh, but not all angels are messengers from or for Yahweh. The angels were trying to figure out what the plan for manfaced would be after the Messiah came. We are created in the image of the Elohim; the angels, cherubim, seraphim, etc. were not. The other sons of Elohim see the Elohim when they look at us. They already knew that we look like the Elohim but now the Elohim resides in us, the Holy Spirit and the Messiah Jesus.
Angels are not all knowing or all powerful. Just because they are sent to minister to the heirs of salvation does not mean that all are good and benevolent. They can read the book of Revelation just like we can. That may be the limit to what they know of their future. Incidentally, we see from Revelation that the angels/stars will bow and prostrate when the heavens roll back as a scroll and everyone sees the Father on the throne and the wrath of the Lamb, Revelation 6. Then we see one third part of the stars/angels go dark, Revelation 8. In John’s summation of the events behind the scenes, he sees one third part of the stars/angels cast down to earth, and the angels that align with Drakōn and Satanas thrown out of heaven to earth, Revelation 12. Therefore we see that angels have free will to decide who to follow and align with. One third of the angels are not benevolent towards manfaced and Yahweh. They do not know their future beyond what we know. The one third who are cast out of heaven down to earth will have to fight against Michael and his angels.
Paul in his exasperation at an adulterous and semi-incestuous man in the church at Corinth, tells the congregation that they should be judging this matter, 1 Corinthians 6. Paul says to the church, don’t you know that you will judge angels? What was the common knowledge of the first century that we seem to not understand today? Angels sinned. Angels who were goaded into following Satanas, sinned. They sinned before the adam was created, and then helped to steal rulership of earth from the adam. They procreated with humans causing a hybrid race so that human DNA was altered. Let’s reflect on this. Angels do not procreate, there are no baby angels. Cherubim do not procreate, neither do Seraphim, or Ophanim, or the Incorporeals. The only beings that procreate are manfaced, who was made in the image and likeness of the Elohim. How can Satanas take over the manfaced population? One way is to distort manfaced’s genetics. Then those beings can become more susceptible to becoming his seed.
We want to think about this logically. Isn’t it a humiliation to the angels to be judged by inferior beings? That is the catch. We are not inferior, we just think we are. We think that the angels are superior to us, yet they are not made in the image and likeness of the Elohim. They do not have the Holy Spirit or the Messiah residing inside of them. They do not procreate among themselves. They have no foreknowledge, they must rely on manfaced prophets to find out their future, we are their judges. Now consider this as well; the Creator who created all things and all beings, came specifically to redeem manfaced only. Angels are not redeemed by the blood of the Messiah. Neither are other sons of Elohim. The only redeemed ones are humans who believe on Jesus as Lord and that he rose up on the third day. Even if angels believe Jesus is Messiah and Creator, they are not saved by Jesus’ blood. They are saved by their works which are judged. This is why Jesus created us.
Col 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Col 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
If then the judgment of angels is done by us humans then what are they judged on? Maybe they are judged as to whether they were goaded by Drakōn or not. Or whether they followed Satanas or not. Whether they ministered to humans correctly or not. Whether they, using their freedom of choice, chose Yahweh their Creator or not. There are angels in the heavens keeping the heavens running in working order. Are they judged on how well they lived and did their jobs? It is speculative, but something that Peter calls “deep thoughts”.

“Wherefore gird up loins the deep thoughts your, keep sober without wavering. Expect on the bringing to you grace in revealing Jesus Messiah.”
We have deep thoughts within us. We want to know the mysteries of the cosmos. Peter says keep sober. We can have just as close of a relationship with Yahweh Jesus as David did, or as Paul did. We can have wonderful things revealed to us regarding Jesus Messiah, but we have to be sober.
There is a dangerous trend of doing certain drugs under the direction of a shaman that is supposed to reveal the depth of one’s soul. From a Biblical standpoint this is nonsense. Demons would love an opportunity to invade your body and mind. Stay sober, always. We can expect grace coming to us in revealing Jesus Messiah. There is no drug that one can take to reveal Jesus Messiah. He is revealed when we have faith.
1 Peter 1:14 G5613 being as G5043 children G5218 of obedience, G3361 not G4964 conforming to G3588 the G4387 former things G1722 in G3588 the G52 ignorance G1473 of your G1939 desires.
“like as children compliance not fashion alike the previous in the lack of knowledge of you inordinate desire.”
This sentence should connect with the last statement. Be like a child, be compliant. We do not fashion ourselves after our old nature which we lived in ignorance of our inordinate desires. We chased one lust after another. Instead we live holy.

“Otherwise downward the summons you holy and self holy in all behavior come into being.”
We are being called from heaven downwards to earth to be holy. This is how those under the old covenant lived without the benefit of the indwelling Holy Spirit.
1 Peter 1:16 G1360 Because G1125 it has been written, G39 [2holy G1096 1Become], G3754 for G1473 I G39 am holy! G1510.2.1
“Since ‘written holy will be that I holy I am’.”
How could we come to a Holy Elohim while being filled with sin? We now have Jesus’ blood to cleanse us as a once for all passover lamb. There are no rituals that we have to keep, simply live in relationship with Yahweh Jesus Messiah.
As a side note, angels have the choice to be holy or not be holy. The ones who serve Yahweh are holy, the ones who serve Satanas are not holy.

“And if Father invoke the impartially judge downward the every work in fear the the foreign residence of your time turn upside down.
We can enter the courts of heaven and call for a judgment when we are persecuted by Satanas. Sometimes our sins allow an attack against us. Many times there is no reason for our persecution. Take the case to Yahweh in the courts of heaven just like David did. Peter says ‘turn upside-down the foreign residence of your time in fear’. What does that mean? Do not live coexistent with evil. Turn upside down our region on the earth, making disciples, bringing the gospel news, ministering in the power of the Holy Spirit. Turn the world upside down because this place is a foreign residence to us. We do this not in fear of the enemy but in fear of Yahweh, who we invoke when we are persecuted in the courts of heaven. We should be actively turning this world upside down, we then will certainly be persecuted. If we invoke the courts of heaven when we knowingly and willingly sin then we should fear because we are only serving ourselves.
Think of David, he was slaying giants constantly. Yet many Israelites didn’t like him, especially people from the tribe of Benjamin. They did not understand what David was called to do. David eradicated so many Philistines that the Philistines didn’t rise up against Israel until Judah was going into captivity. David was called to do this, so any persecution that came against him for doing what Yahweh had asked he simply brought before Yahweh.

We were ransomed out of our vain traditions. The vain traditions of men passed down from generation to generation are simply worthless. They do not bring rescue. Peter says that gold and silver will not pay our ransom either. Plenty of religions tell their followers to pay indulgences. Indulgences do not rescue us at all.
1 Peter 1:19 G235 but G5093 by the esteemed G129 blood, G5613 as G286 of a lamb G299 unblemished G2532 and G784 spotless, G5547 of Christ;
“Otherwise valued blood like as lamb without blemish and without spot Messiah."
This is the only thing that rescues us, the valuable blood of our Messiah. Jesus the lamb without spot or blemish, who without having seen we love, and without seeing now we believe.

“I know beforehand, on the other hand, before conception cosmos render apparent but on outermost the time, by means of you.”
The plan was before the creation of the world to have a Messiah rescue manfaced. Yet now at Peter’s time the plan is made apparent in these last days for our benefit. We are nearly two thousand years since Jesus was crucified. But the plan itself will take seven thousand years, six thousand or so years for manfaced, one thousand years for Messiah to rule from Jerusalem, and then there will be a new heaven and new earth. Imagine creating a plan that would take seven thousand years to fulfill.

“The by means of his trusted into Elohim the raise up him from out of dead and glory this one offer so that the faith of your and expectation to exist into Elohim.
Jesus trusted the Elohim to raise him up. Once Jesus submitted to his death he relied on the Father and the Holy Spirit to finish the work of salvation. Now we are offered glory by Jesus Messiah because of our faith and expectation in the existence of the Elohim.

“The soul life of you cleanse away in the compliance the truth into brotherly love sincere from out of clean heart one another love strenuously.”
Our souls are cleansed by our compliance to the truth in love. This is why we should love one another strenuously from a clean heart, because our own soul is cleansed.

“Birth into new life not from out of sowing/parentage perishable otherwise imperishable on account of logos alive Elohim and remain.”
Peter says that we are birthed into new life out of parentage. What was perishable is now imperishable because of the living word of the Elohim which remains. The last few words of this verse do not appear in the LXX-WH. The living logos of the Elohim remains.

“On this account all flesh like as vegetation and all glory her like as flower vegetation dry up the vegetation and the flower drop away.”
We see this process every fall with plants and flowers. It is a cycle.
1 Peter 1:25 G3588 But the G1161 G4487 word G2962 of the Lord G3306 abides G1519 into G3588 the G165 eon. G3778 And this G1161 G1510.2.3 is G3588 the G4487 word -- G3588 the G2097 good news being announced G1519 to G1473 you.
“But the rhēma Yahweh remains into the ages but that it is rhēma the gospel into you.”
The rhēma of Yahweh remains into the ages. Why does Peter use logos and rhēma? The living logos is words written by the Holy Spirit. The rhēma of Yahweh is his uttered words, or the words that he said or says. That rhēma is the gospel into us, or, the rhēma of Jesus is in us today. Do the angels have the rhēma in them? Probably not. Angels are not charged with reading the gospel message of our rescue. We are the ones who should know every detail of our rescue.
Once again we see that we are better equipped than the angels, with the Holy Spirit in us, the Messiah in us, and Yahweh’s rhēma in us. Foreknowledge, compliance, and Jesus’ blood births us into a living expectation because Jesus rose up on the third day and we are heirs together in heaven, forever. This will be revealed at the proper end time. Jump for joy, our salvation is near. We can take time for deep thoughts because this is our story. The story of us being the hinge point where the sons of the Elohim are judged, and our salvation from the world ruled by the enemies of the Messiah. We are Jesus’ plan. Jump for joy with joy unspeakable and glorious.
