Joel told us that the Holy Spirit would be poured out on
all flesh and not only would people have visions but dream dreams as well. Sometimes dreams are a look into the heavenly
realms, sometimes dreams are a foretelling of the future, and sometimes dreams
are instructional, just like visions. What we see many times is that the dreams
that people have which are prophetic and regarding future events are not
understood or fulfilled in their lifetime, and only people looking backwards in
time can understand those dreams. We are in a unique position to understand
dreams of the past as we are nearing the completion of this age. Now that we
can see how these past dreams were fulfilled it will give us a better understanding
and a broader perspective of future events of the dreams and prophecies that
will come to pass soon.

To dream literally means a “vision in sleep”. To dream
dreams is something that many will experience. Truly the dreams from the Lord
however are not the disjointed glimpses of things we live or are stressed
about. These dreams are from the Lord, poured out by the Holy Spirit and have
an important message.

Gen 28:12-15 And he dreamed that there was a ladder set up
on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven; and the angels of God were
ascending and descending on it! 13 And behold, the Lord stood over and beside
him and said, I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father [forefather] and
the God of Isaac; I will give to you and to your descendants the land on which
you are lying. 14 And your offspring shall be as [countless as] the dust or
sand of the ground, and you shall spread abroad to the west and the east and
the north and the south; and by you and your Offspring shall all the families
of the earth be blessed and bless themselves. [Gen 12:2-3; 13:16; 22:18; 26:4;
Acts 3:25-26; Gal 3:8,16.] 15 And behold, I am with you and will keep (watch
over you with care, take notice of) you wherever you may go, and I will bring
you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done all of which I
have told you. AMP
The Lord says Jacob’s descendants would spread over all the
earth. This is vitally important as we will see that someone else’s dream will
mention this as well. If we were to do any genealogical search for our own
families we would likely see that people did not always stay in one place too
long; we would all see that our families came from many different places. This
is what Jacob’s children did, they moved all over; to the west, east, north,
and south. Most went into the Promised Land and years later many moved out of
the Middle East into new lands where they will be gathered by the angels from
the four winds as Jesus tells us. We will explore this shortly, but for now
let’s move on from Jacob to Joseph. We know that the Lord brought Jacob’s children
into Egypt, and it was foretold to them that they would be under Joseph’s rule.

Since Joseph was the younger brother, we would not expect
his ten older brothers to bow to him just because he had a dream. Joseph had to
come to a position where he was given rule and authority. Imagine if Jacob’s
ten sons all bowed to Joseph at that time, being young and immature, and
without any type of authority, that would never have worked. Joseph had to go
through a bit of hardship to grow up and prove himself to Yahweh. Then with the
help of Yahweh Joseph was able to show the king of Egypt that the Lord was with
him. In our society we generally view hardship negatively, with the view that
something must be wrong in our lives, but really hardships only serve us to
become better for Yahweh.
Daniel as a young man went into captivity through no fault
of his own, but because the people had strayed far from Yahweh. Yet Yahweh
proved he was with Daniel and his friends and gave them extra understanding,
intelligence, wisdom, and perception in visions and dreams. Remember that
dreams and visions can be given to anyone, saint and sinner alike. But the
non-believer does not have the interpretation of the dreams, which is where the
believers like Joseph and Daniel come in.

Daniel sees various kingdoms, rising, conquering, and then
the Messiah receiving rule and dominion. We know that Jesus’ coronation is
still future as noted in Revelation 11:15-ff, when the angel announces that the
kingdoms of the world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and Christ’s, and that
he shall reign forever.
Dan 7:13-14 I saw in the night visions, and behold, on the
clouds of the heavens came One like a Son of man, and He came to the Ancient of
Days and was presented before Him. 14 And there was given Him [the Messiah]
dominion and glory and kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should
serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion which shall not pass away,
and His kingdom is one which shall not be destroyed. [Rev 5:1-10.] AMP
Once Jesus is crowned, there will be a time of war. The
Beast will make war with the Lamb in an attempt to overtake the world but it
will be in vain, he will not win. Then the saints will possess the kingdom.
Dan 7:18 But the saints of the Most High [God] shall
receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever.
[Rom 8:17; 1 Peter 2:9; Rev 3:21.] AMP
Daniel wants to know more about one of the beasts and the
rulers, and he gets this explanation. At the first part of the tribulation, the
first three and one half years, the Body of Christ will be gone, but the Jews
will proceed to follow the laws, making perpetual sacrifice, and keeping the
holy days. Finally after so much time they will have a temple and can fulfill
their sacred laws, but then the sacrifice will stop and the son of perdition
will sit in the Holy of Holies, claiming himself to be god. Then the Jews will
know that they made a mistake and many will be martyred in the temple. During
the second half of the tribulation the beast will kill Babylon, then the beast
will attempt to make war against the Lamb.
Dan 7:25-27 And he shall speak words against the Most High
[God] and shall wear out the saints of the Most High and think to change the
time [of sacred feasts and holy days] and the law; and the saints shall be
given into his hand for a time, two times, and half a time [three and one-half
years]. [Rev 13:1-6.] 26 But the judgment shall be set [by the court of the
Most High], and they shall take away his dominion to consume it [gradually] and
to destroy it [suddenly] in the end. 27 And the kingdom and the dominion and
the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heavens shall be given to the
people of the saints of the Most High; His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and all the dominions shall serve and obey Him. AMP
Jesus will come with his saints to make war against the
beast and establish his kingdom on the earth. Then Jesus will reign for one
thousand years. The kingdoms of the world will be under His rule. He told us
that in those last days if anyone survives, not taking the allegiance or mark
of the beast, the angels will gather them from all over the world, Matt
24:30-31.
Ezra has a dream. In fact Ezra has many dreams. Ezra needs
understanding of his dreams, and like Daniel, he is frightened by what he sees.
He is to record his dreams and tell wise people about them so that they too may
know the secrets.
2 Esd 12:35 This is the dream that thou sawest, and these
are the interpretations.36 Thou only hast been meet to know this secret of the
Highest.37 Therefore write all these things that thou hast seen in a book, and
hide them:38 And teach them to the wise of the people, whose hearts thou
knowest may comprehend and keep these secrets. KJV
Only the wise should be told these dreams because they can
comprehend them. Sometimes people with positions of leadership in the Body of
Christ are just as unwise as unbelievers. Therefore if we communicate dreams to
unwise church leaders we will be told our dreams are not from the Lord. The
Holy Spirit should be the one who directs who we speak to about dreams. If Ezra
was in a typical church today, he might have been told that he was a witch, a spiritualist,
a devil worshipper and the like, because he was seeing and recording something
so far into the future, people would not accept it. The unwise are always first
to dismiss the messages of the Holy Spirit. Let’s read and observe.
2 Esd 13:1 And it came to pass after seven days, I dreamed
a dream by night:2 And, lo, there arose a wind from the sea, that it moved all the
waves thereof.3 And I beheld, and, lo, that man waxed strong with the thousands
of heaven: and when he turned his countenance to look, all the things trembled
that were seen under him.4 And whensoever the voice went out of his mouth, all
they burned that heard his voice, like as the earth faileth when it feeleth the
fire.5 And after this I beheld, and, lo, there was gathered together a
multitude of men, out of number, from the four winds of the heaven, to subdue the
man that came out of the sea KJV
What Ezra understands about this dream is that those that
remained were in greater torment than those who died sooner. Was he correct?
Let’s see.
2 Esd 13:15 Shew me now yet the interpretation of this dream.16
For as I conceive in mine understanding, woe unto them that shall be left in
those days and much more woe unto them that are not left behind!17 For they
that were not left were in heaviness.18 Now understand I the things that are
laid up in the latter days, which shall happen unto them, and to those that are
left behind.19 Therefore are they come into great perils and many necessities,
like as these dreams declare.20 Yet is it easier for him that is in danger to
come into these things, than to pass away as a cloud out of the world, and not
to see the things that happen in the last days…
Ezra’s understanding is incorrect. He needs the
interpretation to make it clear.
2 Esd 13:… And he answered unto me, and said, 21 The
interpretation of the vision shall I shew thee, and I will open unto thee the
thing that thou hast required. 22 Whereas thou hast spoken of them that are
left behind, this is the interpretation: 23 He that shall endure the peril in
that time hath kept himself: they that be fallen into danger are such as have
works, and faith toward the Almighty.24 Know this therefore, that they which be
left behind are more blessed than they that be dead. KJV
So what Ezra thought was that those left behind were in
great woe, but the interpretation is that those left behind are more blessed. Why?
Because they will enter the new kingdom on earth. They will not have taken the
mark of the beast, and they will be under the rule of the twelve Apostles. They
will have resisted and survived. Yahweh told Jacob he would bring his heirs
back to that land, didn’t he? Jesus said the angels would gather them from all
over the world, didn’t he? Those who take the mark and die, remain in hades one
thousand years until their earthly lives/works are judged at the time of the
white throne judgement. Those who were martyred, not taking the mark of the
beast during that time, will be in heaven waiting for the coming kingdom. So
truly the position of those who endure to the end is more blessed.
2 Esd 13:25 This is the meaning of the vision: Whereas thou
sawest a man coming up from the midst of the sea:26 The same is he whom God the
Highest hath kept a great season, which by his own self shall deliver his
creature: and he shall order them that are left behind.27 And whereas thou
sawest, that out of his mouth there came as a blast of wind, and fire, and
storm;28 And that he held neither sword, nor any instrument of war, but that
the rushing in of him destroyed the whole multitude that came to subdue him;
this is the interpretation:
First he explains what Ezra saw, then he gives the
interpretation. He is talking about the end times, the end of the tribulation
when the beast attempts to make war with the lamb.
2 Esd 13:29 Behold, the days come, when the most High will
begin to deliver them that are upon the earth.30 And he shall come to the
astonishment of them that dwell on the earth.31 And one shall undertake to
fight against another, one city against another, one place against another, one
people against another, and one realm against another.32 And the time shall be
when these things shall come to pass, and the signs shall happen which I shewed
thee before, and then shall my Son be declared, whom thou sawest as a man
ascending.33 And when all the people hear his voice, every man shall in their
own land leave the battle they have one against another. KJV
When Jesus is coroneted, Revelation 11, the real craziness on
earth will start.
2 Esd 13:34 And an innumerable multitude shall be gathered
together, as thou sawest them, willing to come, and to overcome him by
fighting.35 But he shall stand upon the top of the mount Sion.36 And Sion shall
come, and shall be shewed to all men, being prepared and builded, like as thou
sawest the hill graven without hands.37 And this my Son shall rebuke the wicked
inventions of those nations, which for their wicked life are fallen into the
tempest;38 And shall lay before them their evil thoughts, and the torments
wherewith they shall begin to be tormented, which are like unto a flame: and he
shall destroy them without labour by the law which is like unto me. KJV
Those who intend to make war with the lamb will be exposed
for their wicked thoughts and they will be destroyed. But the peaceable people
who lived during the tribulation, who initially rejected Jesus before the
tribulation started, will now accept Jesus as their Lord. They will realize
half way through the seven years that they made a terrible mistake. Remember
Daniel’s dream?
Once the war with the lamb has ended the angels will gather
people from the four winds, as Jesus says. He will gather Jacob’s heirs;
remember Jacob’s dream? Notice where they all went.
2 Esd 13:39 And whereas thou sawest that he gathered
another peaceable multitude unto him;40 Those are the ten tribes, which
were carried away prisoners out of their own land in the time of Osea the king,
whom Salmanasar the king of Assyria led away captive, and he carried them over
the waters, and so came they into another land.41 But they took this counsel
among themselves, that they would leave the multitude of the heathen, and go forth
into a further country, where never mankind dwelt,42 That they might there keep
their statutes, which they never kept in their own land.43 And they entered
into Euphrates by the narrow places of the river.44 For the most High then
shewed signs for them, and held still the flood, till they were passed over.45
For through that country there was a great way to go, namely, of a year and a
half: and the same region is called Arsareth.46 Then dwelt they there until the
latter time; and now when they shall begin to come, KJV
We looked into Arsereth/Arzereth previously to understand
migration. http://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2014/06/conquest-of-babylon-atheism-latter-days.html
First we have to keep in mind that not everyone from every
tribe left and crossed into the Americas, the West Indies and the islands, but
many did. People were not stationary, nor were they nomadic in this time period,
but they were willing to move to other lands rather than stay under captivity. Thinking
about what the Lord told Jacob, let’s read what the Lord said through Moses.
Deut 29:27-29 So the anger of the Lord was kindled against
this land, bringing upon it all the curses that are written in this book. 28
And the Lord rooted them out of their land in anger and in wrath and in great
indignation and cast them into another land, as it is this day. 29 The
secret things belong unto the Lord our God, but the things which are revealed
belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all of the words of
this law. AMP
The words another
land literally means another of a
different kind (heteros) of land. To
understand this, the Lord would cast them, (ekballo) “eject them”, from where
they were into a different place. It would not be the same land, as a land in
the Middle Eastern region, it would be a different land. And their journey took
a year and a half.
We even find paleo Hebrew artifacts throughout the Americas.
Who wrote in paleo Hebrew? Moses. So we understand that original inhabitants of
the West Indies, the islands, and the America’s (both north and south), are the
hidden peoples who came from Jacob and will be brought out from the four winds
in the last days. Remember what was told to Jacob; his people would go west,
east, north, and south. They will be brought out of those lands but they may
not be worshipping Yahweh now, they may not even know Him, but they certainly
won’t make an allegiance with the beast.
Something else we have to consider is that while in Egypt
there were many years that they were not slaves. They were merchants and
shepherds, they were free to move about. We also find artifacts from the twelve
tribes throughout Greece, Spain, and the British Isles. That is why Judges
tells us that Dan went out in ships as Deborah’s song mentions, they had
relatives in other places. Paul even visited the British Isles as we know. http://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2014/09/paul-apostle-beheaded-christian-history.html
So the people will dwell in these regions far from
Jerusalem until the very end, then they will come.
2 Esd 13:47 The Highest shall stay the springs of the
stream again, that they may go through: therefore sawest thou the multitude
with peace.48 But those that be left behind of thy people are they that are
found within my borders.49 Now when he destroyeth the multitude of the nations
that are gathered together, he shall defend his people that remain.50 And then
shall he shew them great wonders.KJV
Those that were left behind of Ezra’s people will come back
to Israel. When Jesus destroys the nations who tried to make war with him and
his saints, the left behind people will be defended and protected.
2 Esd 13:52 And he said unto me, Like as thou canst neither
seek out nor know the things that are in the deep of the sea: even so can no
man upon earth see my Son, or those that be with him, but in the day time. KJV
This is powerful, no man upon the earth can see the Son, or
those who are with him, but in that last day and time. Remember Jesus’
coronation takes place halfway through the seven year tribulation, after the two
witnesses are killed and the entire earth sees them rise from the dead. We know
that the only two people who still have their earthly bodies are Enoch and
Elijah, those two witness were translated. Once they are physically killed on
the earth, they will join the above
congregation, the episunogoge. But
no one on the earth will see Jesus crowned, or the wedding supper of the Lamb,
or his Bride, until the Beast makes war against the Lamb. http://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2013/03/benchmarks-for-end-two-witnesses.html
Ezra had this dream and learned its interpretation, but he
never knew of John’s revealing of the last days. Ezra never saw Jesus and would
never have heard the things that Jesus said regarding the people left behind.
So this was a terrifying dream to Ezra, but to us it is another piece of a
puzzle we are seeing unfold in our time.
2 Esd 13:53 This is the interpretation of the dream which
thou sawest, and whereby thou only art here lightened.54 For thou hast forsaken
thine own way, and applied thy diligence unto my law, and sought it.55 Thy life
hast thou ordered in wisdom, and hast called understanding thy mother.56 And
therefore have I shewed thee the treasures of the Highest: after other three
days I will speak other things unto thee, and declare unto thee mighty and
wondrous things. KJV
Because Ezra ordered his life in wisdom, the wisdom of the
Holy Spirit, and made understanding like a maternal teacher, he received the
treasure of knowledge in dreams. Dreams are helpful for future prophetic
understanding and through these recorded dreams, from Jacob, Joseph, Daniel,
and Ezra, we can see that those who are left on the earth after the harpazo,
who are not in Israel or the Middle East, are still the Lord’s people.
There is another type of dream that is not just prophetic
or for a future generation. Just like there are visions with specific directions
(like Cornelius received), there are dreams with directions as well. Joseph,
the step father of Jesus, received several dreams with direction. Joseph was a
Nazerene/Essene, and he understood what it was to have a relationship with the
Lord. But there were some other people who were also in relationship with the
Lord. They traveled a long distance to meet Jesus.

treasure bags, they presented to Him gifts — gold and frankincense and myrrh.
12And receiving an answer to their asking, they were divinely instructed and
warned in a dream not to go back to Herod; so they departed to their own
country by a different way. 13 Now after they had gone, behold, an angel of the
Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, Get up! [Tenderly] take unto you
the young Child and His mother and flee to Egypt; and remain there till I tell
you [otherwise], for Herod intends to search for the Child in order to destroy
Him. AMP

There are six usages of this word for dream, and they are all dreams with instructions for the present.
This is also a type of dream one may receive. The important thing to remember here
is that these dreams given to the Magi and Joseph preserved Jesus’ life as an
infant. If these people had discussed their dreams with the unwise there might
have been a terrible outcome. Even so, in their culture, they understood the
necessity of obeying these dreams.
Today there are many who would disregard a dream with
instructions as explicit as these people’s dreams, but we should remember that
we have been conditioned by the world and religious leaders to disregard dreams
as “sleeping on a full stomach”. Remember these cultures did not have
television or motion pictures, so a dream was not compiled of images they may
have seen while they were awake. We tend to think in terms of television but
they were fortunate not to have anyone bombarding their minds with images. They
did not have a problem deciphering reality from pretend. Nonetheless, if we
were one of those people who did not know Jesus before the harpazo, and were on
the earth through the tribulation, we might need to receive direction to spare
our life; and dreams and visions are some of the ways in which we might get
those directions. Remember, those left to the end are more blessed then those
who made the wrong allegiance and died. And Yahweh will bring them back to
Israel.
Clearly, Jacob did not live to see his family spread out
west, east, north, and south. He probably could imagine that one day they would
move out across the globe, but I’m sure as a father of many sons, Jacob would
have loved to see them all living close together and getting along well. The
reality is that Jacob’s sons didn’t get along with one another or with Joseph,
but eventually they all came together in Egypt under Joseph’s successful rule.
By the time that the kingdom split and both halves of Israel went into
captivity, young Daniel was working hard to grow spiritually in Yahweh and His
ways. Daniel saw so many dreams and visions that related to our time and what
lies just ahead for us, we have the distinctive position of watching how dreams
and visions unfold. Ezra also gave us much to consider, especially when we
compare Daniel and Ezra’s dreams and visions to things that Jesus said, and that
Paul and John wrote for us. While the harpazo and the tribulation could be soon
or still many years away, we can see how the people of the world are being re-positioned
for that time. What we know is that there will be some people left on the earth
from the twelve tribes who will survive the tribulation and that they will be
blessed and brought back to Israel by angels.
