In our perspective it seems that time continues with the same number of days per year and the same number of hours per day, but looking backward seems to make time look inconsistent. When we try to set dates for time we have to realize that what we see today is not what has always been. Because our universe is not as stationary as we imagine from the viewing our short life span, we tend to think that the way things look now is how they have always been. I’m thinking of our earth year. Prior to Adam at 4,000 BC we know there were several things that were different. We know there was an ice age around 13,000 years ago, or at or about 11,000 BC. We also know that our earth year was 290 days long. After the flood of Noah in 2400-2300 BC the earth year lengthened to 360 days. Why and how does that happen? Our earth has changed positions several times over the course of its lifetime. For example we know that Alaska was at one time on the equator, and that Denver Colorado was a tropical climate. The Rocky Mountains were at least twice their height and as they broke apart, rock filled in the valley causing a high plain around the mountains. We also know that there was an ocean from New Mexico to Wyoming, in the Rio Grande Rift area, as evidenced by ammonites the size of truck tires found North West of Denver in a suspected breeding ground. We know that the pacific plate shifted towards the east and caused the mountains to rise, eliminating the western inland ocean. We also know that there is a stretching of the very same area as evidenced in New Mexico where the Rio Grande Valley is separating which could cause another inland ocean. Microbial oceanic evidence also exists in New Mexico springs. So what we see today has not always been the way it is.
Can the planets change their orbits slightly enough to make things change on earth? At one time Mars was closer to earth and made near pass by’s every 108 years. Because Mars and Earth were on the same resonate orbits this caused catastrophic events until about 701 BC. Eventually a correcting took place when at its closest pass by Mars was pushed further away from Earth. Mars has two moons, Deimos and Phobos; Phobos orbits backward. There are many Hebraic traditions regarding this last pass by, happening on Passover, of a full moon on the 13th of Nisan, our March 20th. Since pole shifts, flooding, earthquakes, and other catastrophic events occurred as Mars passed by people began to fear Mars and developed stories about the red planet. The obvious instability of our planet also puts into perspective how geologists can tell us there were oceans where we see none today.
311 years ago we had a huge earthquake on the Casdacian Subduction Zone (our North West Pacific area) which caused tsunami’s and killed people in Japan. But in 1700 that part of North America had not been explored yet, so no one would accurately know how many people were killed. According to news reports, the earth is ready for another quake in that area. Also this week CNN aired a story on Yellowstone’s super volcano, how the earth has risen 10 inches recently. It erupts every 620,000 years and we are at or around 620,040 years since the last eruption. Our earth is not a stable place we just haven’t had long enough record keeping to understand that there are many different things going on that could cause the earth to move and quake. In the past when things happened that seemed unexplained we seem to believe people attributed the happenings to mad gods, or demon deities. What we find however is that our predecessors had an accurate understanding of the movements of the planets and the earth, even predicting those movements well into the future as the Maya did. Not only did the Maya predict planetary movements but earth upheavals and travails. The Maya were accurately able to create calendars in stone that showed our time. Unfortunately when the Spaniards arrived in the 1500’s they decided to burn almost all of their written documents. This was not unusual as it would seem every time a culture was overtaken, the dominating armies wiped out all documentation and written records. The only records that we have which have lasted throughout the ages are records written in stone. What we do know, apart from the Holly Wood money making versions of Maya history, is that the Maya did not predict the earth would end on December 21, 2012. What they did predict is that there would be some very dramatic earth events but that this was the start of a new cycle or age. The belief is that we have been in an era of “dark ages” the downward swing of a thirteen thousand year cycle, the second half of a processional cycle, and that on December 21, 2012 we will start another 26,000 year processional cycle, and we will be on the upswing of a renaissance. I direct you to the work of John Major Jenkins as he is an expert in the Maya culture, you can find books and interviews by him on line. I’ve read a few of his books a couple of years ago and I think he has done great job decoding the Maya.
Our culture today has very little written in stone. If our culture were devastated by natural disaster or war we would not have a written record of our life or beliefs. The only things we write in stone are memorials and gravestones. There is one large stone in Georgia called the Georgia Guide Stone that someone decided to erect in 1980, it will last through fire, or water, or probably an earthquake. I encourage you to look it up, I don’t personally agree with what was written but it is interesting to see what someone with a lot of money thinks is the correct way to live. I am offended however by the idea that someone thinks there should only be 5 hundred million people on the earth for sustainability when we already have over 6 billion.
In the days of Jared the children of Seth started joining the children of Cain in defilement. Jared warned the children of Seth’s line but Cain’s children enticed Seth’s children off the mountain they lived on by playing music and wearing colorful clothes and dancing. By the time Noah was ready to board the ark the world was in chaos.

26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord. KJV
I am pointing out the word began here because it is significant; the word does not denote the start of time but means profane. A word study on this word shows its significance in Levitical laws as well as in reference to Nimrod. Sometime between the time of Enos and Noah there were watchers, sons of God, that saw the women, daughters of Adam, and took them as wives. I ask the question here did the watchers take the women because there was already profanity on the earth or was the profanity when the watchers took the women as wives? There was a genetic alteration that took place here; there was a mixing of genes. The sons of God mixed their genes with the daughters of men and a race was born called the Nephilim.

4 The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them: the same were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown.

It is interesting to note here in verse 3 that when the bible says man’s days shall be an hundred and twenty years God did not mean all men would live to 120 years of age. Instead the book of Jubilees states repeatedly that at that time God told Noah there would be 120 years until the flood and to tell everyone. When the flood came and people cried to Noah, Noah told them they had 120 years to repent but they didn’t.
4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
Notice here the word giants, while the Nephilim were large the Hebrew word actually means one who fell, a bully or tyrant. Also the bible says they were in the in the land at that time and after that. There were giants in the land after the flood. Mighty men-meaning warriors and tyrants.
5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Every thought and imagination of man is evil continually. That seems to be like the profanity of the days of Enos, so again was the wickedness of man what brought the son’s of God to take the daughters of Adam? In a previous post I wrote about some of the herbal drinks women took so that they would not bear children and that childbearing women were put away, thereby not heeding God when he said to be fruitful and fill the earth.
6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. KJV
Now to go backwards a bit, Enoch tells us about the watchers that started the race of Nephilim, and describes the things they taught man. We will look into this further next time. So far our time line is being built to give us perspective on time. So often we dismiss things we don’t understand because we try to put things into a modern era that should be seen in an ancient time.
What is helpful to me is to see things laid out, so when I read about a culture or civilization I can understand what time period they existed in and what could be happening. In my poor historical training I was led to believe that Neanderthal man was the first man made, Adam. Then I was led to believe that we couldn’t have been decedents from cave men because Adam was created in the garden. But in school I was taught my ancestors were lumbering around in caves grunting over accidental fire. However when we say ancestors, we are talking about the existence of beings that lived around 600,000 years before Christ! Neanderthal Man lived at or just after the time of the last super volcanic eruption of Yellowstone. Adam lived 4,000 years before Christ. We will see why this is significant to our understanding as we look at other civilizations and cultures. My dates here are just a small snapshot in understanding that there were civilizations before Adam, and that sometime between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 everything was destroyed. It would seem that when the flood of Noah took place there were several things that happened, continental plates moving causing water under the earth to shoot upward, which in turn caused the piercing of the firmament above causing water to fall from above as well as below. There were earth movements and ice melting. There was such great destruction that everything was destroyed, man and animals and birds. We will see why everything was destroyed as we move ahead.

As was mentioned earlier, red was the color of the face of Mars especially when seen by Greeks through an Earth atmosphere, clouded with smoke from prairie fires, forest fires and volcanic ash. On the other hand, black was the color of the backside of Mars, as it rotated into its night time posture.
Is it by chance that these two colors, red and black, were the traditional colors of the religion of Baal, the Phoenician belief system. It was also the colors of the belief system of their colonists, in Carthage. They, like many others in their different ways, were first of all, Mars-worshipers. Second in their pantheon was Astarte, Venus. Following those two was the host of heaven, including Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, the Sun and the Moon.
The Hebrews were otherwise, or at least they were supposed to be otherwise, non-conformists if they followed the messages of Moses and the prophets. The Creator (and His creation), not the planets, were to be venerated. On this particular point, Abraham's faith departed radically from his Chaldean civilization, and from the teachings of his forefathers.
As Mars approached the Earth in a March flyby geometry, its tail followed it. Mars and its fleece looked like an approaching, onrushing whitish, yellowish, glistening pillar. But after it passed the Earth, its tail appeared more like a cloud, from the rear, with its tail visually engulfing its nucleus. This was the pillar of “fire by night” and the “cloud by day” of the Exodus catastrophe.
The Exodus story features both descriptions. It was during just such a destructive flyby of Mars, a “Passover” (of Mars, the angel of death). A careful reading of Exodus chapter 14 is instructive. The appearance of the cometary tail of Mars shifted from a “pillar of fire” to a “cloud”.
And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them. Exodus 14:19
On that night of March 20-21, Mars made a close flyby between the Earth and the Sun; the Moon was at full on the other side, out of the way. Prime time that night was when the Western Hemisphere including the Mayans in Mexico faced Mars and the Sun. For the Hebrews in Egypt, the crisis hour of the flyby was during the night of the Near East.
Ch 8 PREDICTION VIII. It is predicted that when research is completed among the Indian tribes of North America, and collated, no less than thirty different Indian tribes will be found with stories of ancient catastrophic ages, interrupted by catastrophes featuring a change in the Sun's path across the sky.
This all includes sudden climatic changes and sudden latitude shifts. In Volume III, data is cited suggesting that during the closest of all of the Mars flybys, the North Pole shifted 3,000 miles from the North Pacific to the Arctic Basin. Particularly rich will be data in the form of ancient traditions of the Innuit (Alaskan Eskimos), the Mayans, the Hopi, the Algonquins and the Sioux.
CH 11 This model states that the Moon's position was at “full moon” during the Final Flyby on the night of March 20, 701 B.C.E. It was the Hebrew Passover, and the Moon always was full on Passover nights. On the Hebrew Nisan calendar, it was Friday, the 13th of Nisan, our night of March 20. According to ancient Hebrew literature, each of the twelve months had 30 days. The night of the 7th was always a new moon, and the night of each “Passover” was always during the full moon in the month of Nisan.
This catastrophic flyby was on the anniversary of a long series of anniversaries of “unlucky” Friday the 13ths. In the modern era, the myth of bad experiences of this particular night, Friday the 13th, comes down to our age through Hebrew folklore. It was in an era when cosmic developments of that night really were a bad experience.
“It’s been 300 years,” Bill Steele said Tuesday. “We have a fully loaded subduction zone.”
Actually, it’s been 311 years since the Great Cascadia Earthquake of 1700.
Steele, a University of Washington seismologist and spokesman for the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, said scientists have determined the monster quake occurred Jan. 26, 1700 — 311 years ago tonight.
It happened off the Northwest coast, and created huge tsunamis that devastated shorelines here and in Japan.
What’s amazing is how much is known, considering that in 1700 there were no Europeans in the Northwest. British Capt. George Vancouver wouldn’t find his way here until 1792. The Lewis and Clark Expedition to the West didn’t start until 1804. Historians have no original account of the 1700 quake written from a Western perspective.
“There’s quite a detective story of how we know all that. It’s fantastic,” Steele said.
First, a quick explanation of what happened from the online encyclopedia HistoryLink:
“The earthquake ruptured what is known as the Cascadia subduction zone — the area of overlap between two of the tectonic plates that make up the Earth’s surface, the Juan de Fuca plate and the North American plate.” The 2003 HistoryLink essay by Greg Lange, citing scientists who studied the quake, said the event dropped the whole Pacific Northwest coastline 3 to 6 feet, and that the tsunami was as high as 33 feet.
Knowledge of all that comes from both recent science and long-ago legends and tales of American Indians. Ruth Ludwin, a former University of Washington geophysics professor, has studied and published evidence of the quake found in native lore, Steele said.
“There are a large number of Native American legends and tales of meadows reclaimed by the sea, of great shaking and landslides, and of whole villages wiped out with canoes found in the trees,” he said. “It may have killed tens of thousands of people, but there is no written record of that.”
Scientific evidence of the 1700 earthquake comes from Dr. Brian Atwater of the U.S. Geological Survey, Japan’s Kenji Satake and other researchers. Their work identifying “ghost forests” and an “orphan tsunami” is no less compelling than the Native legends.
“Brian Atwater uncovered a layer cake of soils,” Steele said. At Willapa Bay on the southwest Washington coast, he said, there are five layers where scientists see transitions from marshy tidal estuary to woody soil, indicating trees, all covered by layers of sand and bay mud.
The layers show places where land levels rapidly changed. And studies of the roots of trees in what Steele called “ghost forests” showed that trees died between the growing season of 1699 and before their sap would have come in 1700.
Steele said Kenji Satake, of the Geological Survey of Japan, found records of samurai lords, who kept track of rice harvests. Those detailed records, Steele said, showed that an “orphan tsunami” — a giant wave without any shaking in the area — hit the coast of Japan on Jan. 27, 1700. “It did kill a number of people in Japan,” Steele said.
By working with those records and wave speed, he said, scientists determined that the quake hit the Northwest coast about 9 p.m. Jan. 26, 1700.
“It’s quite a marvelous story, what happened and the impact. No one wrote about it in the West,” he said.
