The Order; Chief Priest; Eternal Priesthood; The Opened Holy of Holies

Melchizedek’s order is the original priestly order. Jesus is a High Priest from heaven to earth in this holy order. What is this order? What are the precepts? We know all about the Mosaic Laws but they are an inferior order. Jesus is an eternal High Priest and it is to our benefit to understand His priesthood. He calls his redeemed children “kings and priests”, but not under a fallible order, but under a holy eternal order. Before we look at the intricate details regarding the exact doctrines of this order we have to solidify our understanding on the order itself. What is an “order” what is “perpetuity”, and why the Zedek/Zadok order is the millennial order.

As we know from Ezekiel the Zadok priesthood is the priesthood that ministers in the millennial temple. The levitical priesthood is outside the temple being re-educated while making sacrifices for people’s sins. Yes, there will be sin in the millennial kingdom. If the Zadok/Zedek priests are the ones ministering to our Lord and Savior Jesus Messiah in Jesus’ millennial temple during his millennial reign, then we are obligated to understand that priesthood. Jesus himself is the Chief Priest of that order. It is only logical that Jesus would have the truly holy sanctified priests minister in his millennial temple. This then is the order in which we are made kings and priests. We are not priests after the levitical order, nor are we priests under Mosaic laws, we are priests in the order of our High Priest Jesus Christ our Messiah and Lord.

Since we do not have a “book” from Melchizedek, or a list of procedures, we will have to hunt for those clues in the coming weeks. I do not doubt there was a scroll at one time, but it was probably destroyed so that no one could follow that priesthoods order and then instead have to follow the levitical order. As we previously noted there were both priests and levites in the temple and as the levites were a tribe of blood they were the ones sacrificing the animals. The priests were merged by David and Solomon in service to Yahweh both at Gibeon and in the temple.

From G2413; a priest (literally or figuratively) KJV Usage: (high) priest.

What is a Chief Priest? The title is a compound word. Archē denotes someone in the “beginning origin, the original, and first in place or rank” while hiereus denotes someone who ministers to the Elohim or some other god. We know that in temple service the priests ministered in service to the Elohim but also served other idols and defiled practices until the temple was destroyed. Today Christians are displayed as on the table of shewbread according to Paul. We are always before the Elohim displaying his kaleidoscope wisdom.

If Jesus is the Chief Priest, or the High Priest, in the religious order of Melchizedek we then should be interested in His religious service. The problem Christians face is being deceived into thinking that we have to function in the religious order of Mosaic Law. This is a blatant deception intended for Christians to live without the knowledge of our High Priest and His order. The people who reject Jesus and His religious order are unsaved and destined for Hades. No one can reject Jesus as Yahweh and Messiah and go to heaven, nor can anyone rejecting Jesus have the Holy Spirit within them. The people that demand Christians follow the law or should tie the shoes of the Jews are intentionally pushing false fables intended to keep Christians from knowing Jesus.

Jesus is not just a priest like an earthly priest, he is a High Priest forever. This means that if we get it wrong here on earth then we will be ashamed throughout eternity, as Jesus rules and reigns in his millennial kingdom and in Heaven. And if someone rejects Jesus as Yahweh Messiah, that one will reside in Hades.

τάξις

taxis tax'-is From G5021; regular arrangement, that is, (in time) fixed succession (of rank or character), official dignity KJV Usage: order.

An “order” in the priestly sense is an office or an arrangement. There is a prescribed arrangement of rules or procedures that the priests would follow. Shem/Melchizedek is the originator of this order. He built the first temple as we saw last week. Whatever his rules and procedures were they were well pleasing and acceptable to the Elohim, which is why Melchizedek’s order and his priests, Zedeks, are going to minister to the Elohim again in the millennial temple. This same order will have Jesus as its High priest. David prophesied about  the future Messiah being established in the eternal order of Melchizedek.

When is the day of wrath? The day of wrath is during the tribulation. The saints are not part of the day of wrath, they are preparing for their return as the army.

Psalms 110:6 G2919 He shall judge G1722 among G3588 the G1484 nations; G4137 he shall fill up with G4430 corpses; G4917 he shall fracture in pieces G2776 heads G1909 upon G1093 the earth -- G4183 many.

“From out of winter torrent in path, drink through this to lift high the head.”

David’s last sentence is not about the Messiah drinking out of a stream. It is about the reader. You and I are to drink out of a winter torrent. The words “He shall” are a translators’ inference, not in the text. Sometimes we use the expression that something is like “drinking out of a fire hose”. A winter torrent is the spring snow melt. Drink from the rushing water through this prophecy to lift high the head. Who is the head? The cornerstone, the Messiah.

https://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2020/01/melchizedek-order-winter-torrent-of.html

The writer of Hebrews continues to explain Jesus’ position as the Chief Priest for eternity, in perpetuity.

Hebrews 7:21(AMP) For those who formerly became priests received their office without its being confirmed by the taking of an oath by God, but this One was designated and addressed and saluted with an oath, The Lord has sworn and will not regret it or change His mind, You are a Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. [Ps. 110:4.]

The Elohim swore an oath, that Jesus Messiah is the eternal priest in the Melchizedek order.

Hebrews 7:22 In keeping with [the oath’s greater strength and force], Jesus has become the Guarantee of a better (stronger) agreement [a more excellent and more advantageous covenant].

23 [Again, the former successive line of priests] was made up of many, because they were each prevented by death from continuing [perpetually in office];

24 But He holds His priesthood unchangeably, because He lives on forever.

25 Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them.

Anyone who confesses Jesus is Lord and believes in his own heart that the Elohim rose him up on the third day will be saved and have eternal life. There will be one High Priest, Jesus Christ, forever.

Hebrews 7:26 [Here is] the High Priest [perfectly adapted] to our needs, as was fitting—holy, blameless, unstained by sin, separated from sinners, and exalted higher than the heavens.

27 He has no day by day necessity, as [do each of these other] high priests, to offer sacrifice first of all for his own [personal] sins and then for those of the people, because He [met all the requirements] once for all when He brought Himself [as a sacrifice] which He offered up.

Jesus had no sin. Various Levites and priests in the temple did have sin. Jesus also overcame death. No other High Priest under Mosaic Law rose up from the dead.

Hebrews 7:28 For the Law sets up men in their weakness [frail, sinful, dying human beings] as high priests, but the word of [God’s] oath, which [was spoken later] after the institution of the Law, [chooses and appoints as priest One Whose appointment is complete and permanent], a Son Who has been made perfect forever. [Ps. 110:4.]

Hebrews 8:1 NOW THE main point of what we have to say is this: We have such a High Priest, One Who is seated at the right hand of the majestic [God] in heaven, [Ps. 110:1.]

2 As officiating Priest, a Minister in the holy places and in the true tabernacle which is erected not by man but by the Lord.

Hebrews 8:6 But as it now is, He [Christ] has acquired a [priestly] ministry which is as much superior and more excellent [than the old] as the covenant (the agreement) of which He is the Mediator (the Arbiter, Agent) is superior and more excellent, [because] it is enacted and rests upon more important (sublimer, higher, and nobler) promises.

7 For if that first covenant had been without defect, there would have been no room for another one or an attempt to institute another one.

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Heb 7:21–8:7.

The actual first temple was Melchizedek/Shem’s in Salem. Shem died before Jacob went to Laban’s house, but even after Shem’s death Jacob continued ministering with Eber in the tents of Shem. There was a holy order, but when Jacob’s heirs went into Egypt they lost all connection with Yahweh Elohim. When they came out of Egypt Yahweh met with them in the wilderness but within a week of Moses giving them the covenant, they broke the first command and made an idol. The covenant had defects, because humans are defective. They corrupted themselves immediately even before reaching Canaan. For over four hundred years the temple Solomon built was defiled with all manner of evil. Jesus was not part of the levitical or priestly order in Jerusalem. Jesus studied with the Assideans/Essenes and the Nazarenes. Jesus was a Nazarite, the same order as Shem/Melchizedek.

Hebrews 9:7(AMP) But into the second [division of the tabernacle] none but the high priest goes, and he only once a year, and never without taking a sacrifice of blood with him, which he offers for himself and for the errors and sins of ignorance and thoughtlessness which the people have committed. [Lev. 16:15.]

8 By this the Holy Spirit points out that the way into the [true Holy of] Holies is not yet thrown open as long as the former [the outer portion of the] tabernacle remains a recognized institution and is still standing,

9 Seeing that that first [outer portion of the] tabernacle was a parable (a visible symbol or type or picture of the present age). In it gifts and sacrifices are offered, and yet are incapable of perfecting the conscience or of cleansing and renewing the inner man of the worshiper.

10 For [the ceremonies] deal only with clean and unclean meats and drinks and different washings, [mere] external rules and regulations for the body imposed to tide the worshipers over until the time of setting things straight [of reformation, of the complete new order when Christ, the Messiah, shall establish the reality of what these things foreshadow—a better covenant].

When Jesus was crucified the veil of the temple was torn from top to bottom. The tear started at the top. The veil was opened for all to see inside. Jesus entered the Holy of Holies. He opened it for us.

Hebrews 8:11 But [that appointed time came] when Christ (the Messiah) appeared as a High Priest of the better things that have come and are to come. [Then] through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with [human] hands, that is, not a part of this material creation,

12 He went once for all into the [Holy of] Holies [of heaven], not by virtue of the blood of goats and calves [by which to make reconciliation between God and man], but His own blood, having found and secured a complete redemption (an everlasting release for us).

13 For if [the mere] sprinkling of unholy and defiled persons with blood of goats and bulls and with the ashes of a burnt heifer is sufficient for the purification of the body, [Lev. 16:6, 16; Num. 19:9, 17, 18.]

14 How much more surely shall the blood of Christ, Who by virtue of [His] eternal Spirit [His own preexistent divine personality] has offered Himself as an unblemished sacrifice to God, purify our consciences from dead works and lifeless observances to serve the [ever] living God?

Jesus the lamb of the Elohim took away all our sins. He cleansed us by His own blood. He entered once for all into the Holy of Holies.

Hebrews 8:15 [Christ, the Messiah] is therefore the Negotiator and Mediator of an [entirely] new agreement (testament, covenant), so that those who are called and offered it may receive the fulfillment of the promised everlasting inheritance—since a death has taken place which rescues and delivers and redeems them from the transgressions committed under the [old] first agreement.

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Heb 9:7–15.

The death of Jesus Messiah was about saving humanity, manfaced. Jesus did not come to redeem angels or demons, or any other son of God, he came to redeem humans. Today we live as redeemable humans. We do not need laws or sacrificial animals to be redeemed.

Hebrews 9:24 (AMP) For Christ (the Messiah) has not entered into a sanctuary made with [human] hands, only a copy and pattern and type of the true one, but [He has entered] into heaven itself, now to appear in the [very] presence of God on our behalf.

25 Nor did He [enter into the heavenly sanctuary to] offer Himself regularly again and again, as the high priest enters the [Holy of] Holies every year with blood not his own.

26 For then would He often have had to suffer [over and over again] since the foundation of the world. But as it now is, He has once for all at the consummation and close of the ages appeared to put away and abolish sin by His sacrifice [of Himself].

27 And just as it is appointed for [all] men once to die, and after that the [certain] judgment,

28 Even so it is that Christ, having been offered to take upon Himself and bear as a burden the sins of many once and once for all, will appear a second time, not to carry any burden of sin nor to deal with sin, but to bring to full salvation those who are [eagerly, constantly, and patiently] waiting for and expecting Him.

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Heb 9:24–28.

Christ, the offering, will appear a second time to bring full salvation. When is full salvation? At the harpazo, when the dead in Christ rise up first and the living join them to meet Jesus in the air. This is when all the living and dead in Christ enter the kingdom of heaven, full and complete salvation.

Hebrews 10:5 (AMP) Hence, when He [Christ] entered into the world, He said, Sacrifices and offerings You have not desired, but instead You have made ready a body for Me [to offer];

6 In burnt offerings and sin offerings You have taken no delight.

7 Then I said, Behold, here I am, coming to do Your will, O God—[to fulfill] what is written of Me in the volume of the Book. [Ps. 40:6-8.]

8 When He said just before, You have neither desired, nor have You taken delight in sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings—all of which are offered according to the Law—

9 He then went on to say, Behold, [here] I am, coming to do Your will. Thus He does away with and annuls the first (former) order [as a means of expiating sin] so that He might inaugurate and establish the second (latter) order. [Ps. 40:6-8.]

10 And in accordance with this will [of God], we have been made holy (consecrated and sanctified) through the offering made once for all of the body of Jesus Christ (the Anointed One).

We are made holy because Jesus died for us. The only thing required of us is to confess him with our mouth and believe in our heart. No one is forced, but everyone is welcomed.

Hebrews 10:11 Furthermore, every [human] priest stands [at his altar of service] ministering daily, offering the same sacrifices over and over again, which never are able to strip [from every side of us] the sins [that envelop us] and take them away—

12 Whereas this One [Christ], after He had offered a single sacrifice for our sins [that shall avail] for all time, sat down at the right hand of God,

13 Then to wait until His enemies should be made a stool beneath His feet. [Ps. 110:1.]

14 For by a single offering He has forever completely cleansed and perfected those who are consecrated and made holy.

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Heb 10:5–14.

David prophesies about Jesus again.

Psalms 40:6 G2378 A sacrifice G2532 and G4376 offering G3756 you wanted not, G2309   G4983 but a body G1161   G2675 you readied G1473 to me; G3646 whole burnt-offerings G2532 and G4012 a sacrifice for G266 sin G3756 you did not G2212 seek.

“A sacrifice and offering no not desire an earlobe but downward fitted me a whole burnt offering (holocaust offering, wholly consumed) and concerning sin no not ask.”

A burnt offering is also called a “holocaust offering”. The shame of this is that there are people who still prefer animal sacrifices to Jesus Messiah who is our perfect sacrifice.

Psalms 40:7 G5119 Then G2036 I said, G2400 Behold, G2240 I come. G1722 In G2777 the chapter G975 of the scroll G1125 it is written G4012 concerning G1473 me.

“Then I said behold I hear in scroll papyrus roll written concerning me.”

Who is the entire Bible written about? Yahweh Jesus Messiah. From Genesis 3 to Revelation 22 the subject is our Savior, our Deliver, our Redeemer, who saves, delivers, and redeems us. While we know this to be true, there are alterations to our text made between 300-600 AD by a group of rabbis who rejected Jesus as the Messiah, which continues to hijack the salvation of Yahweh’s people.

Psalms 40:8 G3588   G4160 To do G3588   G2307 your will, G1473   G3588 O G2316 my God G1473   G1014 I wanted; G2532 and G3588   G3551 your law G1473   G1722 is in G3319 the midst G3588   G2836 of my belly. G1473

“The make the will your the Elohim my intend and the Law your in middle the my belly.”

https://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2024/11/sacrificed-messiah-complainers.html

Yahweh Jesus Messiah says that the Elohim’s law is in his belly. Notice this, the law is not written down on stones or scrolls and hidden so no one can see them. Instead, Jesus says the law is in his belly. It is within Jesus. Therefore Jesus is the embodiment of the law. This is where we find the order of Melchizedek. We do not find the law of the Elohim anywhere else because our High Priest embodies the law, it is in every fiber of his being. That is where we look for the priestly order.

Hebrews 10:19 (AMP) Therefore, brethren, since we have full freedom and confidence to enter into the [Holy of] Holies [by the power and virtue] in the blood of Jesus,

20 By this fresh (new) and living way which He initiated and dedicated and opened for us through the separating curtain (veil of the Holy of Holies), that is, through His flesh,

21 And since we have [such] a great and wonderful and noble Priest [Who rules] over the house of God,

22 Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water.

Hebrews 10:21 G2532 and having G2409 [2priest G3173 1a great] G1909 over G3588 the G3624 house G3588   G2316 of God,

We have full freedom and confidence to enter the Holy of Holies because of Jesus’ blood, as his flesh opened the way. Jesus is  a great, megas, priest over the house of the Elohim. Who is in the house, oikos, of the Elohim? Only the people who confess Jesus as Yahweh Messiah. The people who reject Jesus simply are not part of the house of the Elohim. Why follow Jesus rejecters who are not of the house of the Elohim?

Hebrews 10:23 So let us seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the hope we cherish and confess and our acknowledgement of it, for He Who promised is reliable (sure) and faithful to His word.

24 And let us consider and give attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, studying how we may stir up (stimulate and incite) to love and helpful deeds and noble activities,

25 Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching.

26 For if we go on deliberately and willingly sinning after once acquiring the knowledge of the Truth, there is no longer any sacrifice left to atone for [our] sins [no further offering to which to look forward].

27 [There is nothing left for us then] but a kind of awful and fearful prospect and expectation of divine judgment and the fury of burning wrath and indignation which will consume those who put themselves in opposition [to God]. [Isa. 26:11.]

This is where we have to understand the difference between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of heaven. The entire universe is the kingdom of God, but the kingdom of heaven is inside the kingdom of God. As Jesus told us, there would be people outside in the outer darkness weeping and gnashing teeth. They would be able to see inside where Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, are, but the door will be closed. No matter what people perceive they did for Jesus, prophesying, casting out demons, etc., it will not matter if Jesus doesn’t know them. The kingdom of God is more desirable than Hades even if there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. The reason for the weeping and gnashing is regret. If someone once had the knowledge of truth, but rejected it in some way, there is some separation from the Elohim in heaven. They will not be on the inside but instead outside the dwelling of the Elohim. The message here is get to know Jesus.

Hebrews 10:28 Any person who has violated and [thus] rejected and set at naught the Law of Moses is put to death without pity or mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. [Deut. 17:2-6.]

29 How much worse (sterner and heavier) punishment do you suppose he will be judged to deserve who has spurned and [thus] trampled underfoot the Son of God, and who has considered the covenant blood by which he was consecrated common and unhallowed, thus profaning it and insulting and outraging the [Holy] Spirit [Who imparts] grace (the unmerited favor and blessing of God)? [Exod. 24:8.]

30 For we know Him Who said, Vengeance is Mine [retribution and the meting out of full justice rest with Me]; I will repay [I will exact the compensation], says the Lord. And again, The Lord will judge and determine and solve and settle the cause and the cases of His people. [Deut. 32:35, 36.]

31 It is a fearful (formidable and terrible) thing to incur the divine penalties and be cast into the hands of the living God!

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Heb 10:19–31.

We should not behave as if the gift of Jesus’ shed blood is routine or unimportant. It is something no man could have done. Every sin of every human was taken by Jesus’ body, every drop of blood cost him something, insomuch as he still looks like a lamb who was slain.

Hebrews 10:37 (AMP) For still a little while (a very little while), and the Coming One will come and He will not delay.

38 But the just shall live by faith [My righteous servant shall live by his conviction respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, and holy fervor born of faith and conjoined with it]; and if he draws back and shrinks in fear, My soul has no delight or pleasure in him. [Hab. 2:3, 4.]

39 But our way is not that of those who draw back to eternal misery (perdition) and are utterly destroyed, but we are of those who believe [who cleave to and trust in and rely on God through Jesus Christ, the Messiah] and by faith preserve the soul.

Hebrews 11:1 NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

2 For by [faith—trust and holy fervor born of faith] the men of old had divine testimony borne to them and obtained a good report.

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Heb 10:37–11:2.

In a little while the High Priest who is of Melchizedek’s priesthood will come. He will call from the clouds. How did the old covenant people obtain a good report? By faith. Our Chief Priest is the leader of our priesthood. We are fortunate to understand that the original and perfect priesthood is the one Jesus Messiah, King of kings and Lord of lords, embodies.

Hebrews 3:1 (AMP) SO THEN, brethren, consecrated and set apart for God, who share in the heavenly calling, [thoughtfully and attentively] consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest Whom we confessed [as ours when we embraced the Christian faith].

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Heb 3:1.

We should be calling the Jesus rejecters to consider Jesus Christ, Messiah, Apostle, and High Priest.

Hebrews 4:14 Inasmuch then as we have a great High Priest Who has [already] ascended and passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith in Him].

15 For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning.

16 Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].

The Amplified Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1987), Heb 4:14–16.

We can boldly draw near to the throne of grace. We have every right as born again children of the Most High Elohim to enter into the Holy of Holies. Drink from the rushing winter snow melt, the prophesies of Jesus, in the order of Melchizedek, who is our eternal Chief Priest. If we are faithful we can call Jesus the Son of God, Yahweh, Messiah, High Priest, and friend.
