Always a Judas Among Us; Filled With What; Complete In All Completion; The Enemy Revealed

We are all going to be filled with something, whether it is knowledge, zeal, Satanas, or the Holy Spirit. Jesus gave us the keys to eternal life. Yet oddly there always seems to be a traitor among the godly. It seems that the efforts of the righteous are always marred by an enemy filled with Satanas. Maybe it is not so much that there are enemy infiltrators, but that those infiltrators are filled with something other than the Holy Spirit. We should consider that we cannot keep Judas’ from showing up, but that their presence is a sign that we have an enemy. One who does not have a better plan than to twist someone’s mind which eventually leads to exposure of the enemy himself. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit and with Christ we are an image to all the sons of God of Christ’s divinity and His power. Jesus explains how to fill ourselves with Him. Jesus is our bread of life and we are to fill our soul with Him.

Jesus was teaching in the synagogue at Capernaum. Towards the end of his teaching he notes that one of the disciples is a devil. To understand what Jesus was saying, and John’s hindsight recording of Judas, we want to look at the context. Jesus is the bread of life.

Joh 6:43  Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.

Joh 6:44  No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:45  It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

Joh 6:46  Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

Joh 6:47  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

Joh 6:48  I am that bread of life.

Jesus is explaining to the synagogue and his disciples that he is our nourishment, and that the Father draws people to Jesus. No one has seen the Father, but anyone who believes on Jesus has eternal life.

Joh 6:49  Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

Joh 6:50  This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

Joh 6:51  I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Joh 6:52  The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

Jesus explains that he is living bread, and living bread provides eternal life for anyone in the world.

Joh 6:53  Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

Joh 6:54  Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:55  For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

Joh 6:56  He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

Joh 6:57  As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

Joh 6:58  This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

Joh 6:59  These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

Jesus is contrasting the manna from heaven that the exodus generation ate for nourishment in their current generation.

John 6:53 G2036 [3said G3767 1Then G1473 4to them G3588   G* 2Jesus], G281 Amen, G281 amen, G3004 I say G1473 to you, G1437 Unless G3361   G2068 you should have eaten G3588 the G4561 flesh G3588 of the G5207 son G3588   G444 of man, G2532 and G4095 should have drunk G1473 of his G3588   G129 blood, G3756 you shall not have G2192   G2222 life G1722 in G1438 yourselves.

Jesus is saying that we are to “devour” him or “consume” him. To drink is to receive into one’s soul. This is a key understanding for us. We are to fill ourselves with Jesus.

John 6:56 G3588 The one G5176 chewing G1473 of my G3588   G4561 flesh, G2532 and G4095 drinking G1473 of my G3588   G129 blood, G1722 [2in G1473 3me G3306 1abides], G2504 and I G1722 in G1473 him.

In the literal, it sounds grotesque, but in the figurative we are to munch on Jesus’ human nature, or his material being. We are to understand how one can come from heaven, infill a human body, work miracles among men, and then be risen on the third day. Chew on these things. Then we are to drink or take into our soul Jesus’ atonement for our sin, his shed blood is our release by ransom, our redemption. Receive Jesus’ payment for our atonement into our soul. These two things bring eternal life to us. We can imagine all the heads exploding over Jesus’ teaching of this in the synagogue at Capernaum.

Joh 6:60  Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?

Joh 6:61  When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?

We can see how in the literal the people would have not understood. We are viewing this from hindsight, knowing what Jesus did while he was on the earth, knowing the testimony of many disciples who saw him on the cross, and then saw him later in his resurrected body, and saw his ascension. We are looking back, but these people are not aware of what will take place in the future. These words that Jesus spoke did offend and separate people. We now know that those who stayed with Jesus had an incredible ride.

Joh 6:62  What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?

So far people have barely grasped the idea that Jesus was with the Father before he came to earth. They did not understand he is Yahweh Elohim. This in itself was difficult for people to understand. They were probably thinking how could anyone be with the Heavenly Father, then come to earth, let alone return to the Father. Yet again, in hindsight we know that many did see Jesus ascend to the Father.

Joh 6:63  It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

John 6:63 G3588 The G4151 spirit G1510.2.3 is G3588 the one G2227 restoring to life, G3588 the G4561 flesh G3756 does not G5623 benefit G3762 anyone; G3588 the G4487 sayings G3739 which G1473 I G2980 speak G1473 to you -- G4151 it is spirit, G1510.2.3   G2532 and G2222 it is life. G1510.2.3

Jesus says “The Spirit makes alive.” The Holy Spirit brings life zōopoieō “makes a living thing”. If we understand Jesus’ flesh, his humanity, consume his lifecycle of coming from the Father to earth, and we take in Jesus’ atoning sacrifice (his crucifixion), we can be made alive by the Holy Spirit.

Jesus then says that the flesh doesn’t benefit anything. This is odd as he just said that we are to consume His flesh. We can see how he is intentionally confusing people, changing from figurative to literal. Literally the flesh has no use, it has no advantage.

Jesus then gives us the entire key to the whole teaching. The rhēma he laleō’s is Pneuma and zōē. Jesus gives us the answer to so many questions. The patriarchs all believed that the Messiah would come down from heaven to earth, and return to heaven. Upon their death they were saved or spared from hades and in a special place called Abraham’s Bay until paradise was opened and Jesus took back the keys from death and hades. At the time that Jesus was speaking people could be saved in the same way. However after His death they were saved to paradise, where Jesus says he gives overcomers to eat of the tree of life. If one believed on the Messiah’s coming, that one received the Holy Spirit. Today if one believes on Jesus the Messiah, who already came, that one receives the Holy Spirit. The teaching that Jesus just uttered is Spirit and it is life.

Jesus knew some people would not believe.

Joh 6:64  But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

Joh 6:65  And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

Joh 6:66  From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

Jesus shook the tree. Jesus needed people to walk with him who had Spirit and life so that they could gain further understanding and teach others, making disciples also.

Joh 6:67  Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?

Joh 6:68  Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

Joh 6:69  And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

Joh 6:70  Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

Joh 6:71  He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.

Jesus says that he chose the twelve but that one was a diabolos. We again have the benefit of hindsight. Judas intended to hand Jesus over to the chief priests to be arrested. There is always a Judas around. Some people have said that you should keep your friends close but your enemies closer. Jesus gave us the greatest revelation, spoken in figurative language and yet Judas was planning, plotting, slandering, and falsely accusing Jesus to the chief priests.

This is our context into Judas. It is also our context as to what, or who, to be filled with. Notice what John says regarding Judas.

John 13:1 G4253 But before G1161   G3588 the G1859 holiday feast G3588 of the G3957 passover, G1492 Jesus knew G3588   G*   G3754 that G2064 [3has come G1473 1his G3588   G5610 2hour], G2443 that G3327 he should cross over G1537 out of G3588   G2889 this world G3778   G4314 to G3588 the G3962 father, G25 having loved G3588   G2398 his own, G3588 of the ones G1722 in G3588 the G2889 world -- G1519 unto G5056 the end G25 he loved G1473 them.

  2 G2532 And G1173 supper G1096 taking place, G3588 the G1228 devil G2235 already G906 casting G1519 into G3588 the G2588 heart G* of Judas G* son of Simon G* Iscariot, G2443 that G1473 he should deliver him up; G3860

By the time they were celebrating the passover on the 14th of Nisan (as they kept the Essene traditions of the calendar), diabolos had now already thrown into Judas’ heart to betray Jesus. The devil threw this plan into Judas’ heart. But look who else enters into Judas.

John 13:26 G611 Jesus answers, G3588   G*   G1565 That one G1510.2.3 is G3739 to whom G1473 I G911 having dipped G3588 the G5596 morsel G1929 shall give it . G2532 And G1686 having dipped G3588 the G5596 morsel, G1325 he gives it G* to Judas G* son of Simon G* Iscariot.

  27 G2532 And G3326 after G3588 the G5596 morsel, G5119 then G1525 [2entered G1519 3into G1565 4that one G3588   G4567 1Satan]. G3004 [2says G3767 3then G1473 4to him G3588   G* 1Jesus], G3739 What G4160 you do, G4160 do G5032 more quickly!

Jesus is giving food to the one betraying him. That is when Satanas enters him. The devil threw the plan into Judas’ heart, and then Satanas enters in or goes into Judas. Judas obviously missed that whole teaching regarding Spirit and life. Instead of the Holy Spirit filling Judas via his belief in the Messiah, he was receiving plans from Drakōn and then Satanas entered into him.

Jesus kept Judas around for a reason. Someone had to betray Jesus. But maybe there is a greater lesson here. Maybe we should recognize that there will be people who are sent by the devil with satan inside them, who are ready to attempt to betray the will of the Elohim. In the long run we recognize that Drakōn and Satanas cannot subvert the will of the Elohim, but their pawns are a reminder of their (Drakōn and Satanas’) existence. Did the devil and the satan really believe that they could eliminate the Son of the Most High God? Yes they did, but had they known the results they never would have crucified the Lord of Glory. Luke moves up the timing of Satanas entering into Judas.

Luk 22:3  Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.

Luk 22:4  And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.

Luk 22:5  And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.

Luk 22:6  And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.

Luke records the timing as to when Judas first spoke to the chief priests. I would suggest something here. It is probably not possible for Satanas to continually remain within a human. While demons can remain within a human, Satanas is of a different nature than demons. Demons are the disembodied sprits of the Nephilim while Satanas is an incorporeal, air, aether, fire, or light. What if, disguised as an angel of light, Satanas enters Judas to chat with the chief priests, then enters again at the table when Jesus hands him food? We see that by the time Jesus was condemned Judas literally changed his mind.

Matthew 27:3 When Judas, His betrayer, saw that [Jesus] was condemned, [Judas was afflicted in mind and troubled for his former folly; and] with remorse [with little more than a selfish dread of the consequences] he brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, [Exod. 21:32.]

4 Saying, I have sinned in betraying innocent blood. They replied, What is that to us? See to that yourself.

5 And casting the pieces of silver [forward] into the [Holy Place of the sanctuary of the] temple, he departed; and he went off and hanged himself.

6 But the chief priests, picking up the pieces of silver, said, It is not legal to put these in the [consecrated] treasury, for it is the price of blood.

7 So after consultation they bought with them [the pieces of silver] the potter’s field [as a place] in which to bury strangers.

8 Therefore that piece of ground has been called the Field of Blood to the present day.

9 Then were fulfilled the words spoken by Jeremiah the prophet when he said, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of Him on Whom a price had been set by some of the sons of Israel, [Zech. 11:12, 13.]

10 And they gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord directed me.

Judas would not have changed his mind if Satanas was still within him. Judas realized what he had done and returned the money, although he still hanged himself. It is possible that Judas mistakenly believed that if he forced Jesus into a position to stand before the chief priests that Jesus would reveal himself as king and magically depose and dispose of every corrupt person in Judah and overthrow the Roman rule. Peter then notes that the Holy Spirit told David that someone would act as a guide to those who would arrest Jesus. Judas acted as a guide because Satanas entered into him on a few occasions to broker a deal with the chief priests.

Acts 1:15 Now on one of those days Peter arose among the brethren, the whole number of whom gathered together was about a hundred and twenty.

16 Brethren, he said, it was necessary that the Scripture be fulfilled which the Holy Spirit foretold by the lips of David, about Judas who acted as guide to those who arrested Jesus.

17 For he was counted among us and received [by divine allotment] his portion in this ministry.

18 Now this man obtained a piece of land with the [money paid him as a] reward for his treachery and wickedness, and falling headlong he burst open in the middle [of his body] and all his intestines poured forth.

19 And all the residents of Jerusalem became acquainted with the facts, so that they called the piece of land in their own dialect—Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.

20 For in the book of Psalms it is written, Let his place of residence become deserted and gloomy, and let there be no one to live in it; and [again], Let another take his position or overseership. [Ps. 69:25; 109:8.]

The Amplified Bible. (1987). (Ac 1:15–20). La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation.

People in Jerusalem understood the field of blood. They knew Jesus’ blood was innocent. Judas will always be known for betraying the Messiah. He will always be known as someone who allowed the devil to fill him with thoughts. Judas will always be known as someone who allowed Satanas to enter him. Judas is famous in a bad way.

It is noted that Judas hanged himself, but after he died either the rope broke, or someone was trying to cut him down, and he fell face down, maybe falling onto a stump, his gut burst open in the middle, and his intestines poured out. It is described in detail as a gruesome end. However Judas does receive a portion for his service as Peter notes.

We can see that Judas was being fed ideas from the devil and then the satan entered into him. There is an urgency for people to believe on Jesus as Yahweh, and Christ, and for them to be filled with the Holy Spirit. This was the urgency with Paul. Paul was not filled with Satanas, but instead he was filled with zeal for his religion. Paul got healed, filled, and baptized, sealing his eternal life.

Acts 9:17 G565 [3went forth G1161 1And G* 2Ananias] G2532 and G1525 entered G1519 into G3588 the G3614 house; G2532 and G2007 having placed G1909 [3upon G1473 4him G3588 1the G5495 2hands], G2036 he said, G* O brother Saul, G80   G3588 the G2962 Lord G649 has sent G1473 me, G3588 the one G3708 appearing G1473 to you G1722 in G3588 the G3598 way G3739 by which G2064 you came, G3704 that G308 you should gain sight, G2532 and G4130 should be filled G4151 [2spirit G39 1of holy].

KJV Usage: accomplish, full (. . . come), furnish.

The importance of being filled with the Holy Spirit is so that there is no place for Satanas to enter. Judas didn’t believe, he was not filled as Jesus mentioned. Paul didn’t believe at first, but then he did. Paul got filled with the Holy Spirit. Darkness and light do not co-exist. Darkness is extinguished by light. Fill up with the Holy Spirit and stay filled with the Holy Spirit.

KJV Usage: full.

Paul was plēthō with the Holy Spirit, but Elymas was plērēs with deceit and trickery. Elymas was a son of Diabolos. Obviously being filled with the Holy Spirit is far more powerful than being filled with treachery and villainy, and being a son of Diabolos. Someone who is a son of Diabolos may have more power than a human who is not filled with the Holy Spirit, but he does not have more spiritual power than a Son of the Most High God who is filled with the Holy Spirit. Barnabas was full of the Holy Spirit.

Peter asks why has Satan filled up their heart. The first century church tried to live as the Essenes, where everyone had all things in common. They tried to live communally and share in everything. This worked for the Essenes/Nazarenes/Damascus Community/Therapeutaes/Prophets because they were all holy people filled with the Holy Spirit. Here we see that Ananias and Sapphira had sold some property that they owned. There is nothing wrong with that, but what happened was that they kept some money from that sale for themselves. Again, there is nothing wrong with that unless you lie and tell everyone that you are giving them all the money from the sale of the property. They were fully aware that they were keeping part of the money but they laid the rest of the money at the apostles feet. This was a very hard thing for the apostles to manage. If everyone was to live like the Essenes they would not own their own things. They would share everything, even clothing. The disciples did not demand that anyone join in this way of living, but the people thought they should. Yet Ananias and Sapphira lied.

Acts 5:4 G3780 [4not G3306 1Remaining G1473 2in your possession G3306 3did it] remain? G2532 and G4097 for selling G1722 [2in G3588   G4674 3your G1849 4authority G5224 1it existed]? G5100 Why is it G3754 that G5087 you put G1722 [2in G3588   G2588 3your heart G1473   G3588   G4229 1this thing]? G3778   G3756 You did not G5574 lie G444 to men, G235 but G3588 to G2316 God.

The property was theirs and they could have kept it. Peter notes that they lied to the Elohim, not to men. Ananias dies, and then Peter confronts Sapphira directly and she dies. Peter asked Sapphira why she and Ananias harmonized to test the Holy Spirit. Isn’t that what lying is, testing the Holy Spirit?

Paul and Barnabas returned to Antioch preaching and many were secured into eternal life. But when the Jews saw how many people followed Paul and Barnabas they were filled with jealousy, or zēlos, which is also understood as “fierceness or envy and contentious rivalry”.

Acts 13:45 G1492 [4beholding G1161 1But G3588 2the G* 3Jews] G3588 the G3793 multitudes, G4130 they were filled G2205 with jealousy, G2532 and G483 spoke against G3588 the things G5259 [2by G3588   G* 3Paul G3004 1being spoken], G483 disputing G2532 and G987 blaspheming.

Paul and Barnabas told these Jews that they were unworthy of eternal life. They said that the nations unto the ends of the earth would receive salvation. The Jews stirred up more persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and then they left for Iconium, but the disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.

Acts 13:52 G3588 And the G1161   G3101 disciples G4137 were filled G5479 with joy G2532 and G4151 [2spirit G39 1holy].

We can see that there are many options for being filled. We can choose to be filled with the Holy Spirit or not. We can choose to be filled with joy or not. We can choose to let Satan fill our heart. But if we are saved, we can be filled with the Holy Spirit and all the fullness of the Elohim.

Ephesians 3:19 G1097 and to know G5037   G3588 [5 which G5235 6exceeds G3588 1the G1108 7knowledge G26 2love G3588 3of the G5547 4Christ], G2443 that G4137 you should be filled G1519 in G3956 all G3588 the G4138 fullness G3588   G2316 of God.

Filled with all full measure in the Elohim or complete in all completion in the Elohim. To be complete with all completion means that there is no room for anything less. With the Holy Spirit we are competent to receive the width, length, depth, and height, and to know the love of Christ which exceeds knowledge. Do you think Paul learned this by experience? Yes. He learned the Spiritual side of life in his Essene schooling. There is more to choosing the Holy Spirit’s infilling than simply being marked for release by ransom. We can learn the dimensionality of Christ.

We can be filled with the Holy Spirit and the full knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.

Colossians 1:9 G1223 On account of G3778 this G2532 also, G1473 we G575 from G3739 which G2250 day G191 heard, G3756 cease not G3973   G5228 [2for G1473 3you G4336 1praying], G2532 and G154 asking G2443 that G4137 you should be filled with G3588 the G1922 full knowledge G3588   G2307 of his will, G1473   G1722 in G3956 all G4678 wisdom G2532 and G4907 [2understanding G4152 1spiritual];

Paul prays for the disciples to be complete, with full knowledge or recognition of His desire in all insight and non-carnal intelligence. We can have insight and spiritual intelligence, and be completely filled with it.

You might have experienced this when reading a chapter in the Bible and even though you may have read it many times, one day some things jump out at you and you see everything differently, or more clear. This is Paul’s prayer for us. We can be complete with full knowledge of His desires. We can have insight and non-carnal intelligence, so that we can walk in a manner worthy of Yahweh.

If we are filled with the Holy Spirit we are filled with the one who is the head of all sovereignty and authority. But Paul gives us a warning.

Colossians 2:8 G991 Take heed G3361 lest G5100 [2anyone G1473 4you G1510.8.3 1there shall be G3588   G4812 3robbing] G1223 through G3588 the G5385 fondness of intellectual pursuits G2532 and G2756 empty G539 deception, G2596 according to G3588 the G3862 tradition G3588   G444 of men, G2596 according to G3588 the G4747 elements G3588 of the G2889 world, G2532 and G3756 not G2596 according to G5547 Christ!

Someone might rob us of our fulness. Who would be inspired to rob people of our spiritual intellect? A Judas. A Judas will use a disguise of philosophia, sophistry, and empty apatē, delusion. A Judas will use sophistry and delusion to argue spiritual intelligence. A Judas will include traditions of men and the heavenly planets in the cosmos to steer the conversation away from Christ. Philosophizing over scripture is not spiritual intelligence, it is sophistry that can be twisted with traditions and the elements of the cosmos. This is the warning for the filled believers in Christ, watch for this behavior in a Judas.

Colossians 2:9 G3754 For G1722 in G1473 him G2730 dwells G3956 all G3588 the G4138 fullness G3588 of the G2320 deity G4985 bodily.

In Christ dwells the whole full measure, the divine nature corporeally or belonging to the body. In the Body of Christ resides the full measure of His divine nature. This is important. The divine nature of Christ does not dwell in one man, or one woman, such as your pastor or minister. The divine nature of Christ resides in the whole body of Christ. And each one of us is filled with Him.

Colossians 2:10 G2532 And G1510.2.5 you are G1722 [2in G1473 3him G4137 1being fulfilled], G3739 who G1510.2.3 is G3588 the G2776 head G3956 of all G746 sovereignty G2532 and G1849 authority;

We are made full or complete with the head of all archē, principalities, and exousia, powers. Jesus Christ is the head of all principalities and powers, all chiefs and authorities, all the sons of God in rank and position. That is who is in us. We are completely filled with the head of the principalities and powers. Remember, every spiritual being bows to Jesus when he comes on the Day of the Lord, even those who defected or mutinied and were aligned with Drakōn. Being filled with the Holy Spirit and with Christ, we are far stronger and more powerful than we imagine. Maybe the devil or the satan try to make us think that we are the lowest of spiritual life forms, but we are among the greatest because of the Anointed One and the Holy Spirit completely filling us.

Drakōn and Satanas do not have any new tricks. There will always be Judas’ around who will try to subvert the will of the Elohim. There will always be Judas’ who try to shut down and shut up others. There will always be one who has thoughts implanted by Diabolos and by Satan filling his/her heart to betray or sell us out. It is a reminder that we have an enemy. It is a reminder that we battle against spiritual wickedness. Those who are Judas’ are always exposed. Those who are Judas’ are always used for the good of the Elohim. Even though it is treachery, Judas always exposes the enemy of the Living God. We all choose who and what to be filled with. Choose wisely.
