People make up all types of religions. Some religions, which believe they have a root in the Bible, have grown up out of misunderstandings of who Drakōn and Satanas are due to alterations of scripture. If the church doesn’t understand the truth, certainly the non-Christian won’t understand the truth. We have countless secular suppositions as to who the leaders of these false religions are, but all are based on imagination and not scripture. As we studied last week, there are differences between people who are possessed by demons and people who are actively participating in their own adoption by Satanas. If we reflect back on the questions as to whether the Mighty Almighty created evil, created the satan, or created demons, we can now see that he did not. All three came into existence when the sons of God defected from service to Yahweh when they were enticed by Drakōn, the devil. Some of the sons of God mutinied and attempted to use Yahweh’s creation as their own. As a result, the disembodied spirits of the heirs of the fallen sons of God became evil spirits on the earth, desiring a warm body to live in. Satanas became their leader, as well as the leader of the children of disobedience. The children of disobedience follow religions of wrath, which are made up procedures of service, and made up images of fallen beings. Let’s review a few things about these beings that people are mistakenly following. We will start with Satanas. We will also note Lucifer, and Drakōn.
Firstly, Satanas was not a worshipper or a worship leader. That idea is derived from Masoretic alteration of the Biblical text. There is a deeper reason as to why this was altered which has to do with their own hoarding of gold. Also, if Christians fear worship they will not worship, which is an evil trick to play on others.

There is no discussion of “timbrels and pipes” in verse 13, but instead storehouses and treasuries filled with gold. This does not tell us that satan was a worship leader or even a worshipper. Instead it says that he is stocking up on gold. That suggests greed. This is a clever distortion. Who is hoarding gold? The king of Tyre, and satan. Satan seems to be the one who enjoys precious stones and metals. Somehow we got the notion that satan was a singer, but that is not even suggested here. Oddly, the one thing that regular people are told to do when religious leaders try to dominate and scare us regarding the markets and monetary systems is to stock up on gold. But satan hoards gold, and so we are told to hoard gold too? If we did hoard gold, someone would just steal it from us anyway.
The idea of satan as a worshipper in the temple is a misrepresentation that causes people to also think more highly of satan than is warranted. This has brought into our culture, churches, societies, and all kinds of fairy tales. Then, across the board, we have some church groups that do not like secular music, some church groups do not believe in using instruments in their worship, and some church groups make worship look like a rock concert. If satan was not a worship leader then no one should fear worshipping incorrectly or listening to non-worship music. Maybe we should be more concerned with worship services that attempt to manipulate people into an emotional experience with smoke and lights. And maybe the issue of instruments, or no instruments is not a concern at all.

This is interesting as satan was not created as an anointed cherub, but with or in consecutive order following the cherub. Instead of being a cherub he was created with the cherub. That is very different than what we all have been led to believe. It seems likely that satan would like to puff himself up, as in the story of Hesperus, he wants to be something that he is not. Just as the constellation of Scorpio was probably not the dominant constellation, as the sun on the ecliptic path only runs through Scorpio for six days. Ophiuchus is the dominant constellation, as the sun on the ecliptic runs through Ophiuchus seventeen days. Doesn’t satan only have a six thousand year lease on the earth? So it seems possible in this distortion of his character that he wanted people to believe that he was greater in power than he actually was. He is not an anointed cherub, but instead was created with or after the cherub. In other words, just to be clear, the cherub was created first, then satan was created. Satan was housed, or quartered in the temple. He was put on the sacred mountain and was birthed in the middle of the flaming stones. Well that is quite a story, obviously not a story of a human, but of a spiritual being. Here is a more literal idea.
From the day you (satan) were created and built, with or after the cherub, being anointed, you were alongside of God in the quarters of the tabernacle or the tabernacle dwelling. I even put you among the holy or sacred mountain or hill of God. You were born or came into existence among the middle of the flaming stones.

Satan was born blameless, from the day in which he was manufactured until evil doings were found in him. Offences are “crimes or misdeeds”. Satan became a criminal. Satan had a job of some sort, and as we saw he was filling his storerooms with gold, he was doing it by lawlessness. It may be that the king of Tyre is also thought of here, but the preceding and following context would not support this being an earthly king.

This word for storerooms means “secret chamber” and the word for lawlessness means “illegality”, or a “violation of law”. Verse 15 says that satan was birthed in the middle of the fiery stones, and here in verse 17 he is led away wounded from out of the middle of the fiery stones. Who led satan away? The overshadowing cherub. Fascinating. The secret sin that satan had was lawless trafficking, which caused him to be wounded and removed from the place of his creation, the middle of the stones of fire. Here is another literal look.
From the abundance of your trade or trafficking, you filled your secret chambers with illegality and sinned. You were wounded from off the mountain of God, led away by the overshadowing cherub, out from the middle of the fiery stones.
This is such a different look at satan, isn’t it? Instead of being a big anointed overshadowing cherub he is a different created being, who was wounded and taken out from that portion of the heavenly realm. He had secret places where he did illegal things, but really nothing is a secret from Yahweh. Let’s go on.

Heart is the word kardia, and as we noted earlier, “inner thoughts and intentions” is used just as in Isaiah. As we have studied previously, there are thoughts in the mind and thoughts in the heart, here it is specifically mentioned that satan’s heart was lifted up due to his beauty, and his higher knowledge was destroyed because of the large number of his sins. From our psychological understanding, it sounds like satan was beautiful which led him to narcissistic behavior, further leading to a lot of illegal sinfulness. Narcissists typically gather a following, manipulating others into believing in them. Narcissists hate those who do not follow them. That seems to explain a lot doesn’t it? The idea of one’s own beauty seems to cause one to think more highly of him or herself, and this led to the destruction of satan’s higher knowledge. Satan was tossed or hurled upon the earth in view of kings. Obviously, the king of Tyre was not birthed among the fiery stones and was not in the heavenly temple, nor tossed to the earth, but we could say that he may have thought of himself as beautiful. He might even have been a narcissist, as many kings and leaders are. But truly this section is hard pressed to be all about the king of Tyre. However, the spiritual father behind the king of Tyre fits this description very well.

To review, due to Masoretic alterations people have mistakenly believed that Satanas was a worshipper or worship leader. People have been mistakenly led to believe that Satanas was a Cherub. Rather Satanas is not a Cherub, but was created alongside or after the Cherub. In reality Satanas is an incorporeal being who is not a musician. This altered text hid the important truth that Satanas is a hoarder of gold. There are many people who hoard gold as well. They do it to increase their wealth, while Satanas does it because it reflects his being. To be a worshipper of Satanas without knowing the truth about him is ridiculous. People have made up a religion that has no truth about the one they worship.
We have all heard of people who call themselves Luciferians or followers of Lucifer, but Lucifer was not a name of a being and it was not the name of the satan or Satanas. People who claim this allegiance are painfully ignorant. Lucifer means “evening star”. The Masoretes tried to alter text to call Jesus Lucifer simply because they hated Jesus. The “morning star” 2193.1 εωσφόρος is Eosfóros in the Greek translated Hesperos or Vesper. In most of its usages it denotes a point in the time of day. Let’s remind ourselves of this study.

Hesperus is Vesper in Latin, again meaning “evening star”. Vesper in Latin denotes “evening song and devotions”. In Greek Mythology Hesperus was the evening star, while his brother Phosphorus was the morning star, which also means “light bringer”. The Latin word Lucifer was used as a name for the morning star, but Lucifer wasn’t a bad word or a bad name at this time. Clearly we have an interesting idea here. The 300 BC Jewish Scribes used Hesperus, evening star, here; while the Masoretic Jews 600+ AD used Phosphorus. This may not seem like a big deal but let’s consider that Latin was already a language that was used from the first century BC. The Masorete’s used the idea of Phosphorus as the morning star, or Lucifer in their translation. The 300 BC Jewish Scribes used Hesperus, the evening star. Now we can gain a bit of understanding regarding what Isaiah was communicating.
While other planets rise into the sky, Venus sets; this leads to myths of it being an inferior planet and it striving for a place among the other planets. But instead, Venus is cast down while the others rise. Look at the imagery here. Just like in The Letter to Aristeas, the picture tells the story. Here in Isaiah, satan and the king of Babylon are attributed to a small planet that cannot attain to great heights like the bigger planets. Instead, every night Venus falls down while the other planets ascend to the heights of heaven, making anyone who is associated with Venus smaller and weaker than the rest. When Hesperus fell off course in the heavens, Hesperus shattered the ethnos/people/tribes all over the earth. While the idea of two brothers, Hesperus and Phosphorus, are a way of communicating the idea of one being bad and the other being good, the Ancient’s knew that they were one and the same planet. While the morning star is bright and positive, the evening star is negative. Hesperus was striving to be like the bigger planets, but could not rise and instead it falls. But why would the Masorete’s change that? The Masorete’s repeatedly changed the Old Testament, especially the Book of Isaiah, to disregard Jesus as Messiah. The Romans didn’t believe Jesus was the Messiah until the time of Constantine, around 300 AD or so; the Masorete’s were already changing text in 300 AD. However the Jews of 300 BC were noting Isaiah 14:12 as Hesperus, the evening star who falls. It is also curious that some religions believe Jesus and satan are brothers, but clearly that is not the case as we well know. The truths here in this mythology of the two brothers is a way of telling a story since there were no movies, televisions, printed publications, or computers. The imagery of the falling weak one and the bright strong one is the story that the Masorete’s were trying to distort. Satan is the one who is the evening star spoken of here in Isaiah 14:12. In fact as we will see next week, satan is not even a Cherub. But let’s get back to the idea that is being communicated. The evening star is satan, the one who fell, and the morning star is Jesus.
You might have wondered why Jesus is known as the “day star” or the “bright and morning star” and why that is the same name as Lucifer, the one who is known as satan. Lucifer was not really a proper name, but a description until more recent years, as in Dante’s Inferno. The word lucifer means “light bearer”, and some modern translators took the liberty to translate this in Isaiah as “Lucifer Son of the Morning”. But as we see, it should have been “Evening Star, rising in the morning”. That description points to Venus. The Evening Star is not the same as the Morning Star, however the Evening Star and the Morning Star are both Venus which does rise in the morning in the east. Yet in its story of Hesperus and Phosphorus, Hesperus is the fallen and Phosphorus is the one rising.
It is hardly coincidental that someone attempted to make Jesus like satan, but this is even more amazing. 2 Peter 1 clears up any question as to who the fallen one is and who the bright morning star is. Jesus is Phosphorus.

Phosphorus should arise in our hearts, which is the steady, stable, prophetic logos. Phosphorus is a substance that shines and glows in the dark. Isn’t Jesus the light of the world? John 1. Jesus himself says that he is the “bright early morning star”, but he does not use either Hesperus or Phosphorus, he uses the literal words for rising, bright, and star.

Now we understand that no one can actually be practicing a religion started by a being named Lucifer as there was no such being. The level of deception here is amusing. Lucifer was not the brother of Jesus, the example of Hesperus (Lucifer) and Phosphorus (Jesus) is an analogy of opposites, however Jesus is the Son of the Most High God, as the demons always confess. All things were created by Jesus, all things in heaven and earth, visible and invisible. This includes Satanas himself. Jesus is before all things and by Jesus all things consist. And we are the mystery, that announces the manifold wisdom of God, which all principalities and powers come to know through the church. Therefore Luciferanism is a made up religion based on a misunderstanding of the Bible and is aided by the alterations of the Masoretes.
Something else that we have to understand about Satanas is that he is an incorporeal, he is air, aether, fire, or light, which is why he can transform himself into an “angel of light”. What people are worshipping is a being that has no form and no structure, yet people make all kinds of images of Satanas, as if he has horns, a pointy tail and an angry evil face. Instead he looks like air, aether, fire, or light, which is why he is a hoarder of gold, he is reflected in shiny metals.

Think of the imagery of evil that exists in some art, none of it is accurate or Biblically based. Satanas is an incorporeal and Drakōn is a dragon. Therefore the art is demonically inspired and the imagery is put out on the earth to intimidate Christians and lure possible worshippers with the illusion of power. I won’t describe all the heinous art of evil that exists, but suffice to say that whatever one can imagine does not give Satanas a form or Drakōn a human body.
Jesus told the seventy that returned that he saw Satanas fall as lightning. What he was saying was that Satanas had to come fix his regiments of demons after the disciples actively and effectively cast them out of people. Satanas was rushing to earth, as he usually accuses us before the throne day and night. However the word for falling also means “prostrate”.

As Satanas left heaven to fix his demon army on earth is it also possible that he prostrated or bowed to Jesus? Did Satanas realize he had come under judgment? Jesus sent out the seventy with power. Notice what Jesus says after this.

No wonder Satanas bowed to Jesus, Jesus just exposed part of the mystery, that humans have the power of the Holy Spirit to cast out demons. It was like putting your pieces in the right positions to be able to call “check”. Satanas thought that his next move would be to murder Jesus, however because he is not omnipotent, it turns out his move ended in checkmate. Jesus baited Satanas into failure, as Satanas had free choice. The people who make an allegiance with Satanas are headed for eternal death.
Some people also make a religious allegiance with Drakōn, the devil. Remember that Drakōn was the only one who was created to be a prick or a goad. He is the only one who was created to sport with the angels. And he is a one of a kind being. There is only one dragon called Drakōn, who is the devil.
Wis 2:23 For God created man to be immortal, and made him to be an image of his own eternity.
Wis 2:24 Nevertheless through envy of the devil came death into the world: and they that do hold of his side do find it.
If people hold on to Drakōn’s side they find death, eternal death. This means that anyone who makes this decision is making an intentional decision. This is not a mistake.
We want to ask the question, did the Elohim make some people evil and some people good? No. The Elohim gave everyone freedom to choose. If one makes this choice to reject the Elohim, they make it willingly.
Diabolos is technically an adjective that is being used as a noun in many scriptural instances. This is where confusion comes into the text. Some people use diabolos as Drakōn and some use it as Satanas. The word is used as “slanderer” in the Book of Esther and “devil” in our oldest text, the Book of Job, as well as all other Old Covenant texts. When we are speaking of Drakōn, we are saying Drakōn is a slanderer or a backbiter. When we speak of Satanas, he is an adversary or an accuser. This tells us their methods of operation; Satanas accuses, and Drakōn slanders. In a way this is like a slap in the face because they are being identified as their behaviors instead of their names. It would be like calling someone chubby, or stinky, or moron. Using an adjective instead of a proper noun in this case is humiliating instead of dignifying. No matter what is said in relation to the person you are calling fatso, the adjective defeats them personally. That is the key here. We see confusion come in later because we address multiple people as this adjective, slanderer. But it is clear from scripture that Drakōn is a slanderer and is identified as diabolos.

The person who commits sin is of the slanderer because the slanderer sins from the beginning. Jesus was made visible to untie or release the works of the slanderer. Jesus’ blood releases us from the payment of sin. But there are people who intentionally sin. They are not of the Elohim.

The people who are of the Elohim are not intentional sinners because they have the seed of the Elohim birthed in them. The children of the slanderer are made apparent because they manufacture sin. They willfully and intentionally sin. Notice what Paul says to Elymas the sorcerer.

A magus is a magician, someone who intentionally wants to sin; and in this case Elymas didn’t want Sergius Paulus to hear about Jesus. His desire was to twist him in different ways.

Paul looked intently into him, not at him. Looking into someone is looking at the demonic entities residing within them. Paul then said that he was filled up with deceit, all wickedness, and that he is a son of the slanderer who is hostile to righteousness. That is a mouthful of truth. How can someone be a son of the slanderer? They sin in ways that twist people away from Yahweh. Next Paul pronounces the judgment of the Lord.

This is what happened to Paul, he became blind. Paul thought that he was doing the will of the Lord by killing Christians, yet Paul repented. The Lord knew what was motivating Paul; it was his love for the Lord. Paul had been misinformed by the religious leaders. He thought that he was preserving Judaism, but in reality he was destroying what the Messiah started. Elymas the magician left the meeting blind, with other people leading him. What was in his heart? Paul saw deceit and wickedness when he looked into him.
Imagine, Elymas thought that his power was greater than the power residing in Paul which was the Holy Spirit. Elymas came to the meeting for a spiritual showdown of sorts. Yet Paul, via the Holy Spirit, defeated him quickly.

Jesus tells the Pharisees that they are from out of their father the slanderer, and the longing of their father they want to do. Think this through, they crave and lust for what their father the slanderer craves. The children lust for the things that their father lusts for.

The slanderer is a man slayer anthrōpoktonos, “manfaced murderer” from the origin of manfaced. That tells us that Drakōn did not care for humans, but wanted to get rid of them. Truth is not in the slanderer.

The slanderer speaks lies, he talks from out of his self because he is the father of lies. Now we understand why Jesus never cast any demons out of the Pharisees. They wanted to emulate the father of lies, the slanderer. They believed that Jesus was destroying the religion they had built when he was setting people free with truth. Since Drakōn is a man killer from the time that the adam was formed and the Pharisees were trying to kill Jesus, we can then see the parallel.
There is something that we want to consider here. While satanists, like the Pharisees, have demons residing within, they can control them, with the spirit of the slanderer. In other words, upon their adoption by Drakōn they have a stronger spirit than demons. This is why the Pharisees could watch people getting demons cast out of them, but they themselves did not shriek and cry out like others did. They did not writhe and confess that “Jesus was the Son of the Most High”. They may have become highly agitated, but they were not overcome by the power of the Holy Spirit insomuch as their demons came out of them. Instead they controlled the demons within them and their demons were not cast out. We see this today. Political leaders who are sons of the slanderer can go to a funeral for Billy Graham and not be overcome by the Holy Spirit. Why? Because the Holy Spirit does not force an exorcism on anyone. The person has to be willing to have demons extracted. But someone who has made this conscious decision to become a religious observer of Satanas or Drakōn is most likely in an irreversible state.

The commander of the power of the lower air, the spirit now working in the sons of apeitheia, willful unbelief. There is a spirit working in the apathetic, it is the commander of the authority of the lower air. This makes these sons children of wrath. They are in willful unbelief. This is why their state may be irreversible.

Children of inherent anger are people who do not have the Holy Spirit. Their religion is a religion of wrath, because they are intentional about not believing Jesus is Lord and that he rose up on the third day. We behaved sinfully before we had the Holy Spirit within us. This is the state that the children of wrath are in. The wrath of the Elohim will come upon them. Yet they do not want to change their situation.

Paul lists some of the things that the children of disobedience do, such as harlotry, uncleanness, desiring wealth, indecency, moronism talk, or obscene jokes, because these people do not have an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Therefore don’t be deceived, the wrath of God will come upon these people. The religion of wrath does not end well for them.
People can make up any religion they want. They can pretend to worship a being that has a body of a man with arms and legs, but has horns and a tail, or they can pretend to worship an imaginary beast with wings, but those are made up or pretend. Satanas is an incorporeal and Drakōn is a dragon, and there is no such person as Lucifer. As ridiculous as this is, the church has taken on the misrepresentation of these beings as well; although not worshipping them, they may use them to make the evil ones appear more intimidating so people don’t behave badly. It would be better for the Church to come out of the dark ages and stop playing pretend with the sons of the slanderer or the accuser. We have to start by teaching ourselves the truth so that we can then teach others also. People can have demons, but there are certain people who actually put themselves into service to Drakōn or Satanas. These people become children of wrath because they pursue a religion of wrath. They will truly be surprised and regretful when they actually see the real being that they are worshipping.
