We all have brain damage. It is inevitable living in the chaotic world ruled by Satanas that our brains would be continually damaged. Deeply rooted in every human is the desire to live in Eden, utopia, or Shangri-La. Because we cannot force our world to conform to this longed for paradise, we focus on the negative aspects of our existence, as our world was corrupted and continues in corruption, groaning and travailing until the day the Sons of the Elohim are revealed. Our brains are repeatedly damaged because we live among people with unsound minds, who reject Jesus Messiah. We cannot change the behaviors of people in our societies until our societies are permitted to teach freely about Jesus, King of kings and Lord of lords. People with unsound minds will attack Christians regularly which then causes our brain to be further damaged. We are always under spiritual assault and we live with spiritual trauma. In the physical, if we are assaulted we develop an aversion to that trauma. Spiritually we are assaulted in many different ways which can make us hypersensitive to spiritual attacks. If we take our emotions out of the equation we can heal our brains’ thought pattern and we can become stronger and resistant. Since our brains are basically plastic (neuroplasticity) we can change our thought patterns to align with the logos of the Elohim. We need to deaden and divest ourselves from our old man. Then we can heal our brain by renovating our thought process and transfiguring ourselves into His image.
Every Christian has to go through a process of renovating and restoring our brain. Our heart is the seat of our personhood, who we really are. Our heart has thoughts and intents. Our kidneys are known as our “reins”, like horses reins. The kidneys are the seat of our emotions. We should not be ruled by our kidneys, but by our heart instead. Since the Bible calls them “reins” we should understand that we can pull back on our emotions, like pulling back on a horses reins to make the horse stop. If our heart desires to be a child of the Most High, and desires to live for Him, then we will have to force our brain to align with that desire. The thoughts in our brain can take us in the opposite direction away from our hearts’ desires. But we are not our brain, we are our heart. The heart should have dominance over the brain to make it align with Jesus Christ our Lord. This is called transformation or transfiguration. Everyone can do it if their heart is willing. Let’s explore.

Paul’s exhortation is for us to present our flesh to the Elohim as living sacrifices. Paul then says to not be conformed to this age. In order for us to conform it would indicate that we are not like the age, we have a different form, naturally. We are not in the formation of the age. Therefore we are not to conform to the age. The word suschēmatizō means to “fashion together” or “appear in company with”. Therefore we are not to be fashioned together with this age or appear in company with this age.

We are to be transformed or transfigured, metamorphoō. which literally means “joined shape” or “with form”. We transfigure by renewing, anakainōsis, or renovating our mind. We renew our mind into proving, or putting to the test, or examining the good and acceptable completely perfect desire of the Elohim. We do a renovation of our mind into proving and testing what the Elohim desires.
This is speaking of the brain not the heart. Our heart has thoughts and intents and the logos of the Elohim discerns those thoughts and intents. But renewing the mind, doing a renovation on our thinking patterns, is what we are to prove and test. What is good and acceptable and complete to the Elohim? Is chaos and confusion good, acceptable, or completely perfect? Or is love, peace, and mercy, good, acceptable, or completely perfect? In everyday life we have to judge according the word of the Elohim as to what is good, acceptable, and completely perfect.
What is the transformation that takes place? When we do the work of renovating our brain waves, we mirror or reflect, katoptrizomai, literally from heaven to earth, downward appearing, the splendor of Yahweh.

“But we all unveiled face the splendor Yahweh mirror His image transfigured away from splendor into splendor even as away from Yahweh Spirit.”
As we mirror the splendor of Yahweh we are formed into His image. This is the idea of transfiguration. If we can align our brain and our emotions with our heart we will transform. Jesus was transfigured.

Jesus’ face shone, lampō, like the sun. If we correct our brainwave patterns to transfiguration mode, we not only mirror His image we transform into His image, radiance and light. Reflecting Jesus is the best thing we can do to encourage people to receive Jesus as Lord. The downside is that people who reject Jesus, anti-Christs, are spiritually triggered by the reflection of Jesus and become hostile. We live in the chaotic fallen world ruled by a usurper, naturally his minions react negatively to us. This however should not cause us brain damage because we restrain our emotions, pulling back on the reins, and control our thoughts and move on.

Our inner man is renovated day by day, but only when we take the action to overhaul our thinking, our brain waves. We can think of our brain waves as a house that we must maintain. We have to mow the grass, pull the weeds, fix the leaky plumbing, and repair the roof. This is our daily maintenance to keep our brain functioning properly for Yahweh. When a storm comes we take extra precautions to secure our home and ride out the storm. How do we do this? We put on the mind or the thinking of Jesus Christ.

Let this thinking, the exercising of the mind, be in us. This is the renovation process. We are to think, regard, consider, judge, observe, and care, as Jesus Christ would. Paul goes on to tell us that our afflictions make or manufacture an eternal weight of glory. The idea of an eternal weight or load of glory is in regard to heavy abundance.

When we renovate our thinking by putting on the thoughts of Christ, then we manufacture an eternal abundance of glory. Therefore our renovation while under affliction should direct our thoughts into Christ like thoughts which in turn manufactures eternal abundant glory.
We may face situations that cause us to feel hurt, but our feelings, our reins (our kidneys) do not dictate truth. We then have to unpack the negative situation and look at it with the mind of Christ. We look at the situation without our emotions. Then we can understand it as Christ does and move through the situation back into the light. Every negative dark attack we face forces us to choose to walk in light or continue in darkness. We do not have to walk in darkness, leaving those negative emotions in place, we can put them in the trash bin when we renovate our brain and we go back to transforming and transfiguring in the light.
Paul tells us how to deal with our body and our physical cravings.

Deaden, divest, and renovate. To divest, apekduomai, (away from, strip off) the old man. The old man is the way we lived and behaved before we became Christians by confessing Jesus Messiah as Yahweh and believing the Elohim raised him up on the third day. By divesting from the old way that we behaved we become renewed. We are new creations in Christ.

Old things, old behaviors, old ideas, old ways of thinking, pass away as we transfigure into His image. Then we become new. We put on new thoughts until they become a regular way of thinking. We put on new behaviors. We live in a new way as a new man. Paul tells us again to put away the old man.

The word translated renewed is ananēoō (upon new), which also means “renovate or reform”. To be renewed or renovated in the spirit of our mind tells us that this is something we can do. We can to it. Deaden, divest, and renovate. This is how we put on the new man. Our old man died with Christ on the cross that he was crucified on, proactively.

We are no longer slaves to sin, our sin is on the cross. The old man is crucified, we are free in Jesus Messiah. As we come back to Paul’s letter to the Colossians Paul explains what thoughts and actions we are to put on as a new creature in Christ.

Deaden, divest, and renovate. To replace the old brain pattern of thinking we put on, enduō, sink into or be clothed in, compassion, pity, grace, humility, gentleness, longsuffering, endurance, forgiveness, and most especially love. Walking in love retrains our mind and our behaviors to think like Jesus Christ. When we do this the peace of the Elohim arbitrates in our heart.

The peace of the Elohim governs our heart when we do the work of putting on the new man. If we remember that our heart is discerned by the logos, our brain has to be restrained and renovated. Paul gives us the big key next.

We let the logos of the Messiah inhabit, indwell, enoikeō, inside of us. The logos inhabits us when we read, sing, and also, in our heart, sing to Yahweh. We bring our heart into the mix to help heal the brain so that we are transfiguring into Jesus Christ’s image.

With everything we do, work, school, leisure, we do it in the name of Yahweh Jesus Messiah and we give thanks to the Elohim, the Father, through Jesus. Paul tells us more about how to control and dispose of our damaged brainwaves patterns.

We live on the earth in a damaged environment with damaged elements and damaged people. But we do not have to live as if we are only flesh and blood, we are spiritual beings first. We are to walk as spiritual beings, transfiguring ourselves into the image of Christ by renovating our mind. If we do a renovation based on the world’s standards it will be a bad renovation, but if we do a renovation based on the mind and thoughts of Jesus Messiah our renovation will lead to us being a new man, renewed, and changed into glory.

“For the tools the our warfare not carnal however powerful the Elohim towards demolishing strongholds.”
The tools of our warfare are not tools derived from the flesh. They are powerful and capable, dunatos, tools that demolish, kathairesis, strongholds, ochurōma. We create strongholds in our mind with wrong thinking, thinking that does not line up with the thinking of Jesus Messiah. Those strongholds of thoughts can be demolished. This is how we heal our brain damage. When we dwell on our damaged thoughts we make them our standard for living. Instead we have the power that tears these wrong thoughts down.
An example would be if someone was unkind and called another person stupid. The recipient of that idea might start to believe it about themselves. They may start telling others they are stupid. That damaged thought becomes part of their life to the degree that they don’t even question it. Jesus says that by putting on the new man we are restored in the full knowledge from heaven in the image of our Creator. We are no longer stupid.

“Demolish reasoning and all presumptions lifted up and set on downwards the knowledge the Elohim and take captive all thoughts into the obedience/compliance the Christ.”
We destroy and demolish all of our reasoning and all of our presumptions that are lifted up, or come against the knowledge, from heaven to earth (downward), from Elohim. The knowledge from heaven to earth is attacked with our own reasoning and presumptions. We are to destroy these thoughts. Then we take captive or stop and review each thought and hold it up against the thoughts of Christ. We then make these presumptions and reasonings obedient to the thoughts of Christ.

“And hold in ready to avenge all disobedience whenever our obedience complete.”
The picture that Paul paints here is to have your weapons and tools in hand and immediately without hesitation, break any thought that tries to cause us to think incorrectly. The word disobedience is parakoē, meaning “inattention or imperfect hearing”, while the word obedience is hupakoē, meaning "hearkening, compliance, or submission”. Sometimes we don’t realize that we are thinking incorrectly as we have been brain damaged our whole lives. That means there is a lot of rewiring and renovating that we have to do. We may not realize it until the Holy Spirit shows us that we are thinking incorrectly, and then at that time we must be compliant, get out the renovation tools of reading and singing and putting on the thoughts of Christ, and rewire those thoughts. Be ready to do it any time and at any place the opportunity arises. In other words, when we realize we are thinking incorrectly, most likely by accident as we live in a fallen world, we should correct our thoughts immediately.
Paul helps us again in his letter to the Philippians. We start rewiring and renovating when we rejoice.

We are to let our forbearance or patience be known to everyone because the Lord is near. Patience is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. It grows within us when we are filled with the Holy Spirit and we change our brain patterns to think like Jesus Messiah. The fruit grows the more we feed it with the right thoughts leading to right actions. This is how we can become more patient and less anxious.
Philippians 4:6 G3367 Let no one G3309 be anxious, G235 but G1722 in G3956 all G3588 G4335 prayer G2532 and G3588 G1162 supplication G3326 with G2169 thankfulness G3588 G155 [2your requests G1473 G1107 1let] be made known G4314 to G3588 G2316 God!

To be anxious, merimnaō, also means worry, troubled, or distracted. We are not to be anxious or distracted. We train our mind to be instant in prayer, supplications, and thankfulness, and then the peace that passes understanding will guard our heart and mind.

We are not only to consider these things, we are to logizomai, think, take inventory, calculate, compute these things. Think on the truth, what things are honorable, righteous, pure, acceptable, well spoken, anything that is of moral excellence, anything that is praiseworthy. Then we do the things that Paul wrote to us and the Elohim will be with us. When we renovate our thoughts and transfigure into Jesus Messiah’s radiance the Elohim of peace will be with us. Why? Because our thoughts are aligned with the thoughts of the Messiah.
We want to heal our brain damage so that we can be connected to the Elohim. When we live in the damaged state the world pushes us into, it causes us separation. But now we do not have to be separated any longer.

Jesus fulfilled the law, his blood washed us from our sins, and because he rose up he broke the separation that we had from the Elohim. Now we are made new in Christ.

We have the gospel of peace. Every brain damaged person living on earth longs for peace. We have the good news because of Jesus Messiah. We now have access to the Father by the Holy Spirit.

When our thoughts do not align with Jesus’ we should consider being fellow citizens, holy members of the family of the Elohim. By focusing on what the Bible tells us our thoughts can be renovated and made right. Instead of being frustrated that the world is not becoming a utopia, we can look ahead to the utopia that Jesus is creating for us.

Think about being part of the holy temple of Yahweh Jesus Messiah. We are a dwelling for the Elohim in Spirit. Think on that. Renew and renovate the damaged brain and it will heal so that we can transfigure into the image of Jesus Messiah.
We cannot be in communion with the Elohim if our thoughts are anti-Christ thoughts. We live in a brain damaged world because the brain damaged ruler of this world doesn’t care if we are broken and miserable. We are in this world but our thoughts can be higher than this world. This is the reason we put on the new man, and we repeatedly renovate our damaged brains, and transfigure into Jesus Messiah’s image. We are to live as a reflection of Jesus on the earth, as beings with higher mental thoughts and restrained reins and pure hearts filled with peace.
