Our Father Abraham showed us what faith is. Abraham is our father if we have faith in Yahweh Jesus Messiah. Abraham may or may not be our father genetically, but anyone in a relationship with Yahweh Elohim before Jesus came, and anyone who believes on Jesus Messiah after Jesus’ crucifixion, is an heir of Abraham. We have talked about Genesis 12, Yahweh telling Abram that he would bless those who bless Abram, and the mistaken belief that everyone on earth has to bless one grandson of Abram. Instead, Abram/Abraham was the father of many nations, physically and spiritually, through faith. Abraham would produce one seed, the Messiah, to bring salvation to the world. Yet there are some people claiming to be heirs of Abraham who do not have the same faith as Abraham and his Messiah heir. They are Messiah rejectors. Instead, these Messiah rejectors demand the following of the law. We have to remember the era and age when Abraham lived. There was no law. Abraham had a relationship with Yahweh. Abraham was taught and grew in faith from living with Noah and Shem. Abraham did not have a temple or a tabernacle to worship in. Abraham did not eat “kosher” as he served the Lord milk and meat. Abraham simply lived and communed with Yahweh Elohim. The Pharisees rejected Jesus Messiah, the one seed, and substituted Jacob by lineage. What would the Pharisees say about Abraham’s unrestricted lifestyle? What would they say about his food choices, and what would they say about living by faith that he, Abraham, would rise?
Abraham grew in his faith as we have to grow in our faith, from credence to loyalty. We start out accepting that Yahweh Elohim is true and we grow to have loyalty and serve him.
Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Equity for the Elohim is uncovered in us, from out of credence into loyalty.
“Righteousness for Elohim uncovered (apokaluptō) in us, from out of faith into faith just as written ‘but the just live from out of faith’”.
“Righteousness for Elohim uncovered in us, from out of persuasion into persuasion, just as written ‘but the just live from out of persuasion’”.
The gospel is the miraculous power of salvation for all, and righteousness/equity/fairness/impartiality for the Elohim is revealed in us from out of persuasion into moral conviction. From out of confidence into reliance. From out of confidence into trust. From out of belief into fidelity. Faith is not just a thing that one has regarding Jesus, it grows deeper from believing that Jesus is Lord to fully knowing that Jesus is Lord. What is revealed in us? What is the apocalypse in us? Righteousness. Why? It is credence to fidelity. Faith is not just accepting that something is true but devotion and continued loyalty to said truth. From out of faith into faith. Both the centurion and the Canaanite woman went from out of faith, talking to Jesus asking for a miracle, into faith when the miracle of healing took place. Do you think that they both were devoted to Jesus after that day? Yes. Unlike the Israelites who saw miracles and still rejected Jesus, we are to deepen our faith so that we are not dying sheep.

Paul helps our understanding in faith and tells us that the unbelievers do not nullify the truth of the faith we have.
What if someone does not have faith?
Romans 3:3 G5100 For what G1063 G1487 if G569 some disbelieved? G5100 G3361 Does G3588 G570 their unbelief G1473 G3588 [2the G4102 3belief G3588 G2316 4of God G2673 1cease to work]?
Paul is asking, what is so great about being a Jew? His answer is that there is no benefit to circumcision, however the Jews did receive the oracles of God. Paul says that if they disbelieve the prophecies, then it does not render useless, sever, or abolish, the faith of God. Just because someone does not believe in God it doesn’t erase God from the universe. Just because the Jews want to practice circumcision does not make them special, and if they don’t believe in Jesus they still can’t stop what he is doing in us.
The Jews received the oracles but they didn’t believe them. Paul now explains that the writings are a witness.
Romans 3:21 G3568 But now G1161 G5565 [4separate G3551 5of the law G1343 1 the righteousness G2316 2of God G5319 3has been made apparent], G3140 being witnessed G5259 by G3588 the G3551 law G2532 and G3588 the G4396 prophets;
So the law and the prophets, the oracles, are a witness to the righteousness of God being made manifest separately or apart from the law.
Romans 3:22 G1343 even righteousness G1161 G2316 of God G1223 through G4102 belief G* of Jesus G5547 Christ, G1519 unto G3956 all G2532 and G1909 for G3956 all G3588 the ones G4100 trusting; G3756 [3not G1063 1for G1510.2.3 2there is] G1293 a difference;
23 G3956 for all G1063 G264 sinned G2532 and G5302 lack G3588 the G1391 glory G3588 G2316 of God;
But the righteousness of God through faith of Jesus Christ into all and on all those trusting, for there is no distinction, for all sin and fall short of the glory of the Elohim. The righteousness of God is through faith in Jesus Christ. It is into all and on all those trusting. There is no distinction between Jews and the nations. All people have sinned and fall short, yet we are being justified without charge.
Romans 3:24 G1344 being justified G1431 without charge G3588 by G1473 his G5484 favor, G1223 through G3588 the G629 release by ransom, G3588 of the one G1722 by G5547 Christ G* Jesus;
25 G3739 whom G4388 God set forth G3588 G2316 G2435 as an atonement G1223 through G3588 the G4102 belief, G1722 in G3588 the one G1473 of his G129 blood, G1519 for G1732 a demonstration G3588 G1343 of his righteousness G1473 G1223 through G3588 the G3929 letting pass G3588 of the G4266 preceding G265 sins,
26 G1722 in G3588 the G463 forbearance G3588 G2316 of God, G4314 for G1732 a demonstration G3588 G1343 of his righteousness G1473 G1722 in G3588 the G3568 present G2540 time; G1519 for G3588 G1510.1 his being G1473 G1342 just G2532 and G1344 justifying G3588 the one G1537 of G4102 belief G* of Jesus.
We are not charged for our sins, instead we are released by ransom in Christ Jesus because the Father set him forth as an atonement if we believe in Jesus and his blood. If the Jews don’t believe in Jesus and his blood atonement, it does not negate Jesus or his blood atonement. This is what Paul is explaining in a very wordy run on sentence type of way. Jesus shedding his own blood was a demonstration of his righteousness by means of the remission of our previous sins in the tolerance of the Elohim. It is a demonstration of the Father’s righteousness now in the proper time into his being just and justifying from out of the faith of Jesus.
Paul now comes back around to his original point, that there really is no reason to boast. Boasting as a Jew is shut out. It doesn’t matter how many works a Jew does there is only one law.
Romans 3:27 G4226 Where G3767 then G3588 is the G2746 boasting? G1576 It was excluded. G1223 Through G4169 what kind G3551 of law? G3588 Of the law of G2041 works? G3780 No, G235 but G1223 through G3551 a law G4102 of belief.
“Really where the reason to boast excluded on account of what sort law, the work, by no means, but on account of law faith.”
Paul says that there is no reason to boast, the law of Moses brings the full knowledge of sin (vs.20) and no one can be justified by works. However there is a new law in this new age, the law of faith.
Romans 3:28 G3049 We consider G3767 then G4102 [3by belief G1344 2to be justified G444 1a man], G5565 separate from G2041 works G3551 of law.
Paul says that he reckons manfaced is justified by faith apart from the works of the law. This is a big statement for his day. People were pressured by the Pharisees in works, but not in faith. The new law for the new administration is faith.
Romans 3:29 G2228 Or G* [3of Jews G3588 G2316 1 is God G3440 2only]? G3780 But is he not G1161 G2532 also G1484 of nations? G3483 Yes, G2532 also G1484 of nations.
No the Elohim is not only of the Jews, but he is also of the nations.
As we continue to recognize that Judaism and Christianity are not equal religions, and that the Jews will die in their sins if they reject Jesus Messiah while Christians will receive salvation, we have to remember that the Elohim is the Elohim for all nations, tribes, and peoples. There is no exclusivity of the Elohim towards the Jews, the Jews have to be saved by faith like everyone else. If their pride stops them then they are no better off than any other nation, tribe, or people, who will die in their sin. If the Jews insist on relying on rabbis of long ago who altered scripture and misled their entire faith for over a thousand years then they are without the Elohim. Abraham is the leader of faith, he is the father of our faith, and he is the father of all who have faith. Abraham is not the father of the Messiah rejecters.
Romans 3:30 G1897 Since indeed there is G1520 one G3588 G2316 God G3739 who G1344 shall justify G4061 the circumcision G1537 of G4102 belief G2532 and G203 uncircumcision G1223 through G3588 the G4102 belief.
Paul says that there is one God who will justify people who are circumcised from out of faith and uncircumcision through faith. Either way, the Elohim will justify those who have faith. Circumcision is irrelevant, faith is relevant.
Romans 3:31 G3551 Law G3767 then G2673 do we render useless G1223 through G3588 the G4102 belief? G3361 May it not be, G1096 G235 But G3551 [2law G2476 1we establish].
Romans 4:1 G5100 What G3767 then G2046 shall we say G* Abraham G3588 G3962 our father G1473 G2147 has found G2596 according to G4561 the flesh?
2 G1487 For if G1063 G* Abraham G1537 [2of G2041 3works G1344 1was justified], G2192 he has G2745 boasting, G235 but G3756 not G4314 towards G3588 G2316 God.
Paul says that the law is made useless by faith, but without faith the law stands. What did Abraham find out? Abraham was not justified by works, otherwise he could boast. He could say that he was rich, that he had multiplied his herds, and that he had many children as well. Abraham could say that he had a lot of servants and that he was a king. All of Abrahams boasting would be about himself, not God. However Abraham was not justified by his own works.
Abraham also found out that he would be a physical father to many nations, as he had eight sons in total. We do not know how many daughters Abraham had but Abraham had a start of eight nations. Abraham lived to see at least twenty two of his grandsons. Yet the physical sons of Abraham pale in contrast to his sons and daughters by faith.
Romans 4:3 G5100 For what G1063 G3588 does the G1124 scripture G3004 say? G4100 [3trusted G1161 1But G* 2Abraham] G3588 G2316 in God, G2532 and G3049 it was imputed G1473 to him G1519 for G1343 righteousness.
The scripture says that Abraham trusted, pisteuō, the Elohim and the Elohim counted him into righteousness. Abraham was righteous because he believed or trusted in the Elohim. Paul is making this case for the Jews who were rejecting Jesus and afraid to believe in him. Paul goes on to explain the promise made to Abraham and his seed.
Romans 4:13 G3756 For not G1063 G1223 through G3551 law G3588 was the G1860 promise G3588 to G* Abraham G2228 or G3588 to G4690 his seed, G1473 G3588 G2818 [3heir G1473 1for him G1510.1 2to be] G3588 of the G2889 world, G235 but G1223 through G1343 righteousness G4102 of belief.
The promise was not made through the law or works for Abraham to become ancestor of the world, but the promise was made through righteousness of faith. In other words, if the law had been written, Abraham would not have been justified or made righteous by the law or the works of the law. Abraham was born in Nimrod’s kingdom, but was under threat of murder from the night that he was born. Abraham was sent to live with Noah and Shem until he was in his late 30’s. At that time Abraham and some of his family left Babylon/Chaldea. Abraham believed in Yahweh without oracles or written scriptures. Abraham believed in Yahweh without the law. There were no works of the law for him to do. Abraham lived day by day from out of faith into faith, in a personal relationship with Yahweh.
Romans 4:14 G1487 For if G1063 G3588 the ones G1537 from G3551 the law G2818 be heirs, G2758 [3is empty G3588 1the G4102 2belief], G2532 and G2673 [3ceases to work G3588 1the G1860 2promise].
Now if Abraham had faith and was faithful, his heirs were not brought forth by the law but by Abraham’s faith in the promise. Is it the law or faith? If it is the law then faith is deprived of content, or made void. Who then cares what one believes, as long as that one fulfills the tenets of the law. That one can love or hate Yahweh. One can do works and be a murderer. One can do works and be a rapist. One can do works and be a wife beater. Is that one still justified? If he does the works of the law is he righteous? No, not without faith.
Romans 4:15 G3588 For the G1063 G3551 law G3709 [2wrath G2716 1manufactures]; G3739 for where G1063 G3756 there is no G1510.2.3 G3551 law, G3761 not even G3847 is there a violation.
The law produces anger. If there is no law then there is no transgression or violation of the law. That’s simple.
The people who always push Christians to follow the law apparently don’t know that the law produces wrath. There is no law that can be followed. Paul was writing this during the time when the temple was still standing. Today there is no temple, no cleansing from sins. Everyone who rejects Jesus’ offer of salvation through faith dies in their sin.
Romans 4:16 G1223 On account of G3778 this G1537 it is of G4102 belief, G2443 that G2596 according to G5484 favor, G1519 for G3588 the G1510.1 [2to be G949 3firm G3588 G1860 1promise] G3956 to all G3588 the G4690 seed, G3756 not G3588 to the one G1537 of G3588 the G3551 law G3440 only, G235 but G2532 also G3588 to the one G1537 of G4102 belief G* of Abraham, G3739 who G1510.2.3 is G3962 father G3956 of all G1473 of us,
“On account of this from out of faith in order that downwards through favor into the promise to be enduring all the offspring not from out of the law alone but and from out of faith Abraham who is ancestor us all.”
From out of faith favor came downward from heaven into the promise that would endure for all Abraham’s offspring. It came out of faith not the law.
Romans 4:17 G2531 (as G1125 it has been written, G3754 that, G3962 [3father G4183 4of many G1484 5nations G5087 1I have established G1473 2you],) G2713 in front of G3739 which G4100 he trusted G2316 God, G3588 of the one G2227 restoring [3to life G3588 1the G3498 2dead], G2532 and G2564 calling G3588 the ones G3361 not G1510.6 being, G5613 as G1510.6 being;
Abraham is a father of many nations. Abraham’s sons are Ishmael, Isaac, Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. During Abraham’s time that is eight nations. Abraham trusted or had faith in the Elohim because he trusted the one who could raise the dead. Abraham called what was not being, like as being, meaning he spoke and said that he would be a father of many nations even though he did not have any children. He spoke about the promise. He had faith that the promise would come to pass. Abraham went from out of faith into faith.

Here is the literal of Romans 4:17:
“Just as written that place you father many ethnos in front of this trust the Elohim the corpse make to live and invite the not being so that being.”
Abraham believed Yahweh Elohim would make the corpse to live. It is by faith Abraham could believe this. We believe this by faith as well. We know, deep down in our soul, that we will rise as Jesus did. Jesus did rise up on the third day. Abraham looked ahead to the Messiah rising up. Even though it hasn’t happened for us yet, we speak it as if it will. This is faith. The harpazo will raise the saints to heaven. Like Abraham, we do not know when, but we do know it will happen because we have been told by the written logos from the Holy Spirit.
Abraham was promised to become the Father of many ethnic groups or nations. In Paul’s day nations were not quite as mixed as they are today. Ethnic groups, ethnos, can be in any nation.
Genesis 17:5 G2532 And G3756 [2will not G2564 3be called G2089 4any longer G3588 G3686 1your name], G1473 G* Abram; G235 but G1510.8.3 [2will be G3588 G3686 1your name] G1473 G* Abraham, G3754 for G3962 [3father G4183 4of many G1484 5nations G5087 1I have appointed G1473 2you].
Yahweh told Abram that he was now Abraham. Adding the “h” or “Hey” in Hebrew is symbolized as a man with arms raised. It means “look”, “reveal”, or “breath”. Abram was now going to be a man worshipping. Abram was going to look to Yahweh and see him revealed, and Yahweh would breathe on Abram. We are Abraham’s seed. We have a relationship with Yahweh with our arms raised; we look and Yahweh reveals himself to us and then breathes on us.
Abraham was now established or put in place as a father of many nations. Abraham has the breath of Yahweh on him, he would now give life to those who hope/expect and trust in Yahweh.
Romans 4:18 G3739 who G3844 against G1680 hope G1909 [2upon G1680 3hope G4100 1trusted], G1519 for G3588 G1096 him to become G1473 G3962 father G4183 of many G1484 nations; G2596 according to G3588 the thing G2046 being said, G3779 So G1510.8.3 shall [2be G3588 G4690 1your seed]. G1473
"That from the side of expectation trust on expectation into the he comes into being a father many ethnos downward the say in this manner his offspring will be.”
Abraham from the side of expectation, trusted on expectation. I imagine it was pretty hard for Abraham to trust in his own ability at his age, but he expected that what Yahweh said was true. Abraham’s relationship with Yahweh is what Abraham’s trust was founded on.
Genesis 15:5 G1806 And he led G1161 G1473 him G1854 outside, G2532 and G2036 said G1473 to him, G308 Look up G1211 indeed G1519 into G3588 the G3772 heaven, G2532 and G705 count out G3588 the G792 stars, G1487 if G1410 you are able G1821.2 to count G1473 them! G2532 And G2036 he said, G3779 Thus G1510.8.3 will be G3588 G4690 your seed. G1473
Abraham’s view of the stars was far better than our view of the stars. Not by Abraham’s physical seed but by faith, Abraham became our father.
Abraham trusted in the Elohim which is why he is our father in the faith. Abraham’s trust made him count among the righteous. Our trust makes us reckoned among the righteous. But Abram/Abraham did not blindly trust. He developed a relationship with Yahweh; Yahweh spoke with him and he with Yahweh. This is our foundational message. We need to have the kind of a relationship with Yahweh that we speak with him and he with us.
Genesis 15:6 G2532 And G4100 Abram trusted G* G3588 G2316 in God, G2532 and G3049 it was imputed G1473 to him G1519 for G1343 righteousness.
We do not trust what or who we do not know. We trust who we do know. If someone were to betray our trust we would be cautious and not want to trust them again. We trust Yahweh because we surrender to Him, the Creator, not because he is like a candy machine and will do what we want. Abraham surrendered to Yahweh’s plan. We should surrender to Yahweh’s plan, but it is always easier when we have a relationship with Yahweh.
Hebrews 11:6 G5565 But apart from G1161 G4102 belief G102 it is impossible G2100 to well-please; G4100 [6to believe G1063 1for G1163 2it is necessary G3588 3for the one G4334 4coming forward G3588 G2316 5to God] G3754 that G1510.2.3 he is; G2532 and G3588 to the ones G1567 seeking after G1473 him G3406 [2a paymaster G1096 1he becomes].
This is Enoch’s story, Abraham’s story, Noah’s story, and our story. We move from credence to fidelity, or acceptance to loyalty, and then our relationship grows. Without trust we cannot be pleasing to the Elohim. We have to trust that He exists. When we seek after the Elohim, he becomes a misthapodotēs which comes from misthoō “to hire for wages”, and apodidōmi “give away”. If we search for the Elohim then we trust that He exists. If we trust that He exists and search Him out, he gives away, as if we are hired. He is a rewarder. We are rewarded for trusting and searching for Him. Somehow this deal cannot be any better. We trust. We seek. He rewards.
https://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2021/11/expectations-cheerful-perseverance.html
If someone blesses Abraham then Yahweh will bless them. If our father Abraham is blessed then we will be blessed.
Genesis 12:3 G2532 And G2127 I will bless G3588 the ones G2127 blessing G1473 you; G2532 and G3588 the ones G2672 cursing G1473 you, G2672 I will curse. G2532 And G1757 [6will be blessed G1722 7by G1473 8you G3956 1all G3588 2the G5443 3tribes G3588 4of the G1093 5earth].
“And speak well/praise them speak well/praise you and them downward cursing you downward curse, and in-speak well/praise in you all the tribes/offshoots indeed.”
The word eulogeō means “speak well”, eu means “good or well”, and logos means “said or speak”. The word kataraomai is a “downward curse”or “imprecation” which comes from katara, kata “downward”, and ara “imprecation”.
The nations coming from Abram, the offshoots, will be blessed. How does one pick which son or grandson to focus on and bless? We should understand that it is all Abram/Abraham’s sons, not just one grandson, that Yahweh is speaking of. Are we blessing one offshoot and cursing another? All the tribes of earth are blessed because of Abram/Abraham. We know that we are sons and daughters of Abraham if we have faith like Abraham. Therefore if someone is expecting that the whole world has to only bless Israel, who was a grandson of Abraham, then they are clearly mistaken. This is a clever marketing strategy used to manipulate others. A Babylon trick. Paul explains it this way:
Again, we who have faith are the children of Abraham. We then are blessed through faithful Abraham. The faithless and Messiah rejecters are not blessed. The antichrists have their present day rewards allotted by Satanas. But those who believe on and trust in Jesus Messiah will be blessed with eternal life. We are justified through faith, not works, and not the law.
Gal 3:6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
Gal 3:7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
Gal 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
Gal 3:9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
This is how Paul interprets what Yahweh says to Abram/Abraham. Abram/Abraham had faith to follow Yahweh. He moved out of Ur then moved out of Haran because Yahweh told him to. The simplicity of having a personal relationship with Yahweh is lost in Babylon. Now through faith the heathen is justified and all nations are blessed. The offshoots, the tribes and nations, are blessed.

Notice what Paul tells us as he continues in Galatians.
Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
Gal 3:17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
The promise is that through one of Abraham’s seed salvation comes to all. The misappropriation of Jacob being the seed of salvation and rejecting Jesus Messiah is what the Jews have distorted for their own pretend salvation. However men do not decide how salvation will work, the Elohim does. If we believe Jacob is the seed of salvation then salvation has to be by birth. Yet Jacob did not fulfill any of the prophecies of Messiah.
The law was 430 years after Abraham. The law does not make the promise of none effect. There is no inheritance in the law. We have to correct our wrong thinking. There was no law until the exodus, and then that law was was until John and fulfilled by Jesus. The time period is from 1492 BC to 30 AD. That is a total of 1,522 years that the law was in effect. The law has been out of effect for 1,995 years.
Gal 3:18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
Gal 3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
The law was added because of what? Sin. Until when? The seed, the promised seed, Jesus Messiah. The law and the prophets were until John. Jesus fulfilled the law. We are done with the law now. This is why we are Abraham’s children, we live by faith.
Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
If we are in the Messiah, then we are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise. This is a far better inheritance than any earthly parent can give. We are Abraham’s children. Abraham is our father.
Abraham had an interesting relationship with Yahweh as he had always known him, and was taught about him by Noah and Shem. This is why the first time we see Yahweh speak to Abram in Genesis Yahweh is telling him to leave Terah’s house and move. Abraham is not shocked or surprised. One would think that if this was the first time Abraham is hearing from Yahweh he would interact, question, contemplate, ask if it was really Yahweh speaking to him. Abraham does not question Yahweh, he simply does what he is told. Notice from Jasher, Abram/Abraham was brought up knowing Yahweh from Noah and Shem.
Jasher 9:4 Haran was forty-two years old when he had Sarai, which was in the tenth year of the life of Abram; and in those days Abram and his mother and nurse went out from the cave, as the king and his subjects had forgotten the affair of Abram. 5 When Abram came out from the cave, he went to Noah and his son Shem, and he remained with them to learn the instruction of the Lord and his ways; no man knew where Abram was, and Abram served Noah and Shem his son for a long time. 6 Abram was in Noah's house thirty-nine years, and Abram knew the Lord from three years old; he went in the ways of the Lord until the day of his death, as Noah and his son Shem had taught him,…

We see all through Abraham’s life that he just rolls with Yahweh. He doesn’t struggle, he doesn’t resist. He just flows in Yahweh. It is only when we understand his life of relationship with Yahweh that this makes sense. Especially when Yahweh tells Abraham to sacrifice Isaac. Isaac was 37 years old, not a child, but they both go along with it. They both supernaturally trust Yahweh.
We see Yahweh walking and talking with Abraham as a friend. Yahweh was very willing to tell Abraham what was going to happen in Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim. Abraham was comfortable to negotiate for as many people as possible, which turned out to be four, with three making it to Zohar.
Gen 18:22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.
Gen 18:23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
Gen 18:33 And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.
The Pharisees loved to tell everyone that Abraham was their father. In reality Abraham may not have been their blood relation. Abraham was not their spiritual father either as they did not have the faith of Abraham and a personal relationship with Yahweh Elohim. In their anger the Pharisees report to Jesus that Abraham is dead.
Jhn 8:50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.
Jhn 8:51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
Jhn 8:52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.
Jhn 8:53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?
This question opened the door for Jesus to tell them that in fact he is greater than Abraham.
Jhn 8:54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:
Jhn 8:55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.
Jhn 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
Many times people focus on the wrong verse here. They look at verse 56 and surmise that Abraham was only “seeing” prophetically. However the Pharisees respond with an answer that points to Abraham seeing Jesus physically.
There is something to be said for Abraham rejoicing when he saw Yahweh. Abraham had quite a relationship with Yahweh. The Pharisees help us out here because their response is that Jesus isn’t old enough to have seen Abraham. He wasn’t old enough as a manfaced. However as the Creator who said “come into being light”, he certainly was old enough. Why wouldn’t the Creator come to earth to visit his people? Just because he didn’t come to earth to visit the Pharisees doesn’t mean he didn’t come to visit those who believed on Him and worshipped Him.
Jhn 8:57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
Jhn 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
What a predicament the Pharisees put themselves in. Nonetheless, we see that Abraham was quite comfortable hanging out with Yahweh.

While Abraham walked and talked with Yahweh Elohim, Jesus Messiah, Abraham prepared food for Yahweh and the angels. What did he serve besides flat cakes?
Gen 18:7 And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.
Gen 18:8 And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.
Abraham served Yahweh Elohim a non-kosher meal, albeit it occurred 430 years before the law was given. But if Yahweh Elohim had a problem with milk and meat together then he would have corrected Abraham, and he certainly wouldn’t have eaten the milk and meat. Yet he did not correct Abraham. Living by faith is much different than living by the law.
Gen 15:13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
Exo 12:40 Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.
It was not until the wilderness that the law was given due to sin. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Jacob’s sons and their children all in Egypt did not live under any law at all. This does not hinder their eternal life. Notice who is going to be in the kingdom of heaven and who is not.
Mat 8:10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
Mat 8:11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 8:12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
The forefathers who did not have the law will be in the kingdom of heaven. The Pharisees who lived under the law will not be allowed in unless they accept Jesus as Messiah. As Paul pointed out, the law manufactures wrath, and there is no wrath in the kingdom of heaven. Our faith makes us heirs of Father Abraham. Jesus tells us where we want to be, in the kingdom of heaven with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Out of a total of 6,028 total years, only 1,522 years were allocated for the law, and 4,506 years without the law. The people who still want to follow the law assume that the law continued after Jesus Messiah came but it did not. The law works wrath in all humans. But the provision of the seed of Abraham, the Messiah, Jesus, erased the requirement of the law and allowed all people to be redeemed, released by ransom, through the blood of Jesus Messiah. We Christians are the children of Abraham and we have the opportunity to enter the kingdom of heaven to eat with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
