Administration of Completion; In Messiah; Ransomed; Path in the Water

The Psalms are not just songs, but they are prophetic songs that were to be sung in the tabernacle and then later in the temple. The prophetic insight of these Psalms are not realized until we compare them with other writers of different time periods. Asaph wrote of things that no one could understand until after Jesus came and rose up on the third day. Once we passed that place in linear time then we could look backward to the visions of the Psalmists and see how accurate they were. We can compare Asaph to Paul’s letters and understand and appreciate what Asaph was writing about so many years before Jesus came. We recognize that once Jesus came the rules regarding the way of salvation changed. This is due to the change in administration. We will narrow down some of the translations compared with the LXX-WH and see what interesting things we can learn there. We also see that Asaph was one of the only people who seemed to talk about the Messiah doing something extraordinary, besides healings and miracles. Asaph might not have understood the fullness of what he saw but he was very accurate. Asaph sees into the fulfillment, and understands that at the end of this age there will be a time of wrath for those who pushed Yahweh away. He sees our age. He sees the change in the hand of the Elohim, from compassion to no compassion. Certainly Paul understood Asaph’s song but many people since the first century have not. Asaph tells us to cry out to the Elohim and then pay attention. We usually miss the second step of paying attention. Let’s explore.

Psalm 77:(76):0 G1519 To G3588 the G5056 director; G5228 for G* Jeduthun; G5568 a psalm G3588 to G* Asaph.

“Into the fulfillment over Jeduthun song the Asaph.”

Jeduthun was a singer and an advisor to David. This gives us the time period of Asaph’s vision and song. Asaph may have written the words, but Jeduthun was probably the one who wrote the music.

1Ch 25:6  All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king's order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.

2Ch 5:12  Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:)

1Es 1:15  The holy singers also, the sons of Asaph, were in their order, according to the appointment of David, to wit, Asaph, Zacharias, and Jeduthun, who was of the king's retinue.

Psalm 77:1 G5456 With my voice G1473   G4314 [2to G2962 3 the lord G2896 1I cried out]; G5456 my voice G1473   G4314 to G3588   G2316 God; G2532 and G4337 he heeded G1473 me.

“My voice towards Yahweh cry aloud my voice towards the Elohim and I pay attention.”

Asaph and his sons and the other singers and advisers were all real people. We tend to elevate certain people in our society like doctors or lawyers, and in Asaph’s time the priests, musicians, and advisors, were all elevated. Yet they are very normal regular people experiencing the same things that we experience. We all cry out to the Yahweh and the Elohim but sometimes we don’t pay attention to the response, we just want to vent. Asaph says to cry out and then pay attention to Him.

Psalm 77:2 G1722 In G2250 the day G2347 of my affliction G1473   G3588  G2316 I inquired of God. G1567   G3588   G5495 [2my hands G1473   G3571 1By night] G1726 were before G1473 him, G2532 and G3756 I was not G538 deceived. G527.4 [2refused G3870 3to be comforted G3588   G5590 1My soul]. G1473

“In day my persecution the Elohim I seek out the his hand, night time in the presence of him, and no not deceived, peaceful summoned the my soul.”

Under persecution Asaph sings about seeking the Elohim. He searches for his right hand at night, and Asaph is not deceived. Asaph’s soul is summoned in peace. So when we are in turmoil, we will be peaceful paying attention to the Elohim.

Psalm 77:3 G3403 I remembered G3588   G2316 God G2532 and G2165 was glad. G96.1 I meditated G2532 and G3641.3 [2was faint-hearted G3588   G4151 1my spirit]. G1473   G1316.1 PAUSE.

“Remember the Elohim and delight, I was disappointed and he calmed down the my spirit, chanting.”

The word ηδολεσχησα which translators translated meditated actually translates “I was disappointed”. This translation of 96.1 occurs three times in this psalm but with three different words. Here using the LXX-WH we can identify these words more specifically. Asaph is under persecution so he cries out to the Elohim and pays attention to Him. As he is waiting on the Elohim he remembers things, the things that the Elohim has done in the past, the dreams, the visions, and the miracles. Asaph’s heart is lifted. He was disappointed over his persecution but the Elohim calmed down his spirit and called Asaph’s soul in peace.

Psalm 77:4 G4293.1 [2first took G5438 3watches G3588   G3788 1My eyes]; G1473   G5015 I was disturbed G2532 and G3756 I did not G2980 speak.

“Prejudiced guarding the my eyes agitated and no not speak.”

Asaph pre-judged his situation, he judged himself innocent as we all do, which is why he was in turmoil. We seem to think that the more “good” we are, the less “bad” will happen to us. Actually the more “good” we are the more “bad” we suffer. Satanas doesn’t attack his own, but rather those of Yahweh Elohim. Asaph is bias in his views, guarding his eyes, or not looking at evil things. He is agitated and doesn’t speak.  We already know the Elohim brought peace to his soul and calmness to his spirit, but Asaph is explaining his persecuted state.

Psalm 77:5 G1260 I reasoned G2250 [2days G744 1about ancient]; G2532 and G2094 [3years G166 2everlasting G3403 1I remembered]. 6 G2532 And G3191 I meditated;

“Deliberate thoroughly day origin and year eternal remember and meditate.”

Asaph is considering the origin of the heavens and earth which at the start of our age are formless, void, and dark. Then he considers eternity. We have an origin and we have eternity. Asaph considers the origin of the age of manfaced and then thinks about the existence of manfaced through to either eternal life or eternal death. His thoughts are deep.

 6…. G3571 [2by night G3326 3with G3588   G2588 4my heart G1473   G96.1 1I conversed], G2532 and G4623.3 [2tilled G3588   G4151 1my spirit]. G1473

“Night amid the my heart in vain and scallen my spirit.”

Depending on the accent marks, this word scallen is a strange translation. Generally εσκαλλε or ἔσκαλλον means climb up or scale. Asaph says he vainly considers these things in his heart at night and his spirit climbs. He considered it vain to think through these things because he realized that he is a human being, with limited knowledge. But he sees something interesting that elevates his spirit.

Psalm 77:7 G3361 Shall G1519 [3into G3588 4the G165 5eons G683 2thrust me away G2962 1 the lord]? G2532 And G3756 will he proceed to not G4369   G3588   G2106 think well of me G2089 any more?

 8 G2228 Or, G1519 [3at G5056 4 the end G3588   G1656 2his mercy G1473   G609 1will he cut off]? G4931 Did he finish entirely G4487 his discourse G575 from G1074 generation G1519 to G1074 generations?

“Not into the ages pushed away Yahweh, and no not do again, the think well even now, or into fulfillment the his compassion cut off away from generation into generation.”

Asaph sees that in past ages people pushed Yahweh away. Asaph says to not do it again, don’t push Yahweh away. Asaph lived in an age where David was eliminating the heirs of the Nephilim and establishing the Zadok priesthood into the tabernacle service, and planning for a temple to be built by Solomon. Asaph says not to push Yahweh away again or else in the end of the age (the administration of completion) his compassion will be cut off from generation to generation. At the time of the tribulation his compassion is cut off from the Jesus rejecters.

Isn’t this what we see today? The rejection of the Messiah by the people that he came to save? If the Jews had overwhelmingly embraced the Messiah instead of rejecting him then they would not be sentenced to the tribulation or the wrath of the Lamb and the wrath of the Father. The tribulation would only be for the nations instead. Those who did embrace Jesus as Messiah are now people who have the Messiah “in” them.

Psalm 77:9 G3361 Shall [2forget G1950   G3588   G3627 3to pity G3588   G2316 1God], G2228 or G4912 hold up G1722 [2in G3588   G3709 3his anger G1473   G3588   G3628 1his compassions]? G1473   G1316.1 PAUSE.

“Not either enforced the compassion the Elohim, either compel in his anger the his compassion, chant.”

The Elohim is compassionate, but he cannot force anyone to believe on Him. He cannot force anyone to receive Jesus the Messiah. No one can enforce the compassion of the Elohim. There are rules for each age. No one can force the Elohim’s compassion if they reject or push Him away. During the time of the wrath, his compassion will be far from the people who reject Him.

Psalm 77:10 G2532 And G2036 I said, G3568 now G756 I began. G3778 This G3588 is the G241.3 change G3588 of the G1188 right hand G3588 of the G5310 highest.

“And I said now at this very time be first this the alterations the right hand the most high.”

This is the change of the right hand that Asaph saw in verse two. Asaph searches for the Elohim’s right hand, and now the right hand of the Highest has changed. Asaph cried out to the Elohim in his persecution, and received a peaceful summons. But now he sees that the Elohim is not compassionate towards those who push Him away. This is what the tribulation is for; the seal judgments which is men harming men, the trumpet judgments which is the earth harming men, and the bowl judgments which are the wrath of the Elohim harming men. There is no compassion at the wrath of the Elohim on the earth. The Elohim’s hand changes at the end of the age and his compassion cannot be forced or compelled. John explains this quite well, so it is interesting that Asaph saw this so many years prior.

Psalm 77:11 G3403 I remembered G3588 the G2041 works G2962 of the lord . G3754 For G3403 I shall remember G575 [2from G3588 3the G746 4beginning G3588   G2297 1your wonders], G1473

“Remember the work Yahweh because recall away from the origin the your wonders.”

People ignore Yahweh until they are in trouble or being persecuted. They will not receive His compassion. Asaph tells people to remember the wonders at the origin of manfaced. Remember the creation.

Psalm 77:12 G2532 and G3191 I shall meditate G1722 on G3956 all G3588   G2041 your works; G1473   G2532 even G1722 in G3588   G2006.1 your practices G1473   G96.1 I will meditate.

“And ponder in all the your works and in the your business not miss.”

What is the business of Yahweh? Salvation. Yahweh’s created beings can choose Him or push Him away. His labor or trade, is to redeem whoever chooses Him. Asaph thinks about it all, from creation to the fulfillment of the age.

Psalm 77:13 G3588 O G2316 God, G1722 [2 is in G3588 3the G39 4holy place G3588   G3598 1your way]. G1473   G5100 What G2316 God G3173 is great G5613 as G3588   G2316 our God? G1473

“The Elohim in the holy, the your path anyone, Elohim mega who our the Elohim. “

The Elohim is in the sanctuary or the holy place. His path is for anyone and everyone. His path is laid out for all of us. The Elohim is great. He is our Elohim. What is this path that Asaph says is for anyone? We will understand it shortly.

Psalm 77:14 G1473 You G1510.2.2 are G3588   G2316 God, G3588 the G4160 one doing G2297 wonders. G1107 You made known G1722 among G3588 the G2992 peoples G3588   G1411 your power. G1473

“You I AM the Elohim the manufacture wonderful to make known in the people the your dunamis (miracle power).”

Asaph declares the I AM. Jesus told the Pharisees that he was I AM. The Elohim makes wonders to make himself known to the people. Didn’t Jesus do that? Jesus healed many people, including at least ten blind people, most of whom were born that way. Yahweh Elohim showed the people His dunamis.

https://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2020/12/i-am-yahwehs-name-revealed-abraham.html

Psalm 77:15 G3084 You ransomed G1722 [2by G3588   G1023 3your arm G1473   G3588   G2992 1your people], G1473   G3588 the G5207 sons G* of Jacob G2532 and G* Joseph.

“To release on receipt of ransom in the your strength the your people the sons Jacob and Joseph, chanting.”

Asaph sees the ransom being paid for His people. Those who believe on Jesus the Messiah are the children of the Elohim. We are like products at the grocery store and Jesus is going to purchase us. He gave the store his blood as a down payment and received a rain check for us when he comes back with his van to pick us up. This is our release by ransom. He purchased us and is ready to redeem us.

Now let’s look at Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. Paul brings Asaph’s prophecies, which were for our administration, into understanding.

Ephesians 1:3 G2128 Blessed be G3588 the G2316 God G2532 and G3962 father G3588   G2962 of our Lord G1473   G* Jesus G5547 Christ, G3588 the one G2127 having blessed G1473 us G1722 with G3956 every G2129 [2blessing G4152 1spiritual] G1722 in G3588 the G2032 heavenlies G1722 in G5547 Christ;

Χριστός

Christos khris-tos' From G5548; anointed, that is, the Messiah, an epithet of Jesus KJV Usage: Christ.

Paul says worthy of praise is the Elohim and Father of our Yahweh, Jesus Messiah. The word Christ, Christos, means “Messiah”. If we use the word Messiah instead of Christ, then this section might resonate with us a bit more. Our Messiah blesses us with all spiritual blessings in the heavens in the Messiah. To understand this section we have to keep in mind being “in the Messiah” which we will look at shortly. Being “in” the Messiah has its benefits, such as being holy and blameless before His face.

Ephesians 1:4 G2531 as G1586 he chose G1473 us G1722 in G1473 him G4253 before G2602 the founding G2889 of the world, G1510.1 for us to be G1473   G39 holy G2532 and G299 unblemished G2714 before G1473 him G1722 in G26 love.

Jesus the Messiah selected humans to be in Him before the throwing or conception of the cosmos. Jesus the Messiah picked out manfaced to be in Him. How many other sons of God are there? Many. There are angels, cherubim, seraphim, ophanim, seven sprits, seven eyes, rainbows, thunders, beasts, elders, etc. But our Messiah elected manfaced to be in Him. What is it to be in Him? It is a union that we must choose.

https://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2018/12/angels-archangels-sons-of-god-phoenixes.html

We are using the ISV here as they translate Christ as “Messiah”.

Rom 8:1 (ISV) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in union with the Messiah Jesus.

Rom 8:2  For the Spirit's law of life in the Messiah Jesus has set me free from the Law of sin and death.

If one chooses to be in the Messiah, Christ, that one is no longer condemned in this world, condemned to death, condemned to live in the bondage of sin.

Rom 12:5 (ISV) In the same way, even though we are many people, we are one body in the Messiah and individual parts connected to each other.

We are connected to others in the Messiah.

1Co 15:22 (ISV) For as in Adam all die, so also in the Messiah will all be made alive.

Whoever is “in” the Messiah will be made alive. Paul goes on to explain the harpazo.

2Co 5:17 (ISV) Therefore, if anyone is in the Messiah, he is a new creation. Old things have disappeared, and—look!—all things have become new!

If one is in the Messiah that one is new as compared to old which is of this world.

2Co 5:18 (ISV) All of this comes from God, who has reconciled us to himself through the Messiah and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,

2Co 5:19  for through the Messiah, God was reconciling the world to himself by not counting their sins against them. He has committed his message of reconciliation to us.

We are reconciled or “brought back” to the Elohim through Jesus Messiah.

Gal 2:4 (ISV) However, false brothers were secretly brought in. They slipped in to spy on the freedom we have in the Messiah Jesus so that they might enslave us.

We have freedom from religious bondage in the Messiah.

Gal 3:26 (ISV) For all of you are God's children through faith in the Messiah Jesus.

If we believe that Jesus is Lord and Messiah then we are children of the Elohim.

Eph 2:10 (ISV) For we are God's masterpiece, created in the Messiah Jesus to perform good actions that God prepared long ago to be our way of life.

We are the Elohim’s masterpieces when we are in the Messiah.

Eph 3:6 (ISV) The gentiles are heirs-in-common, members-in-common of the body, and common participants in what was promised by the Messiah Jesus through the gospel.

The ethnos, nations, have commonality as heirs, members, and participants in the promises of the Messiah. The word gentiles is a slang translation that attempts to define non-Jews as “gentiles or goy/goyim”. The problem is that the word goy/goyim is not used that way in scripture as in “Shem is a goy” for example. The Greek is far more accurate translating the word ethnos as “ethnic groups or nations”. So to drive the point home, the ethnic groups around the world are joint heirs to all the promises of the Messiah.

Col 1:27 (ISV) to whom God wanted to make known the glorious riches of this secret among the gentiles—which is the Messiah in you, our glorious hope.

Col 1:28  It is he whom we proclaim as we admonish and wisely teach everyone, so that we may present everyone mature in the Messiah.

The Messiah is in us, and we are in Him. This was a mystery. No one knew that the nations would be part of the Messiah.

1Th 4:16 (ISV) With a shout of command, with the archangel's call, and with the sound of God's trumpet, the Lord himself will come down from heaven, and the dead who belong to the Messiah will rise first.

1Th 4:17  Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

This is the ultimate promise for all those “in” the Messiah. All who belong to the Messiah are harpazo’d.

To be in Christ/the Messiah is to believe he came to earth, died, and rose up on the third day. We are no longer condemned to death, but have eternal life. We are connected to others who believe like us. We will be made alive together. We are new beings, brought back to the Elohim and we are children of the Elohim. We are free, we are masterpieces, and we are His heirs. He is in us and we are in Him. This was a mystery. If we are in the Messiah then we will be seized up into the clouds to meet Him in the air.

He chose to have a race of beings to be in Him who would be holy and blameless before his face in heaven. When do we get to heaven? When he calls us all up. This is what he chose. He chose the path for reconciliation, salvation, and redemption. We have no say over the path that he chose for manfaced. We cannot make a new path, we are not forcing our own way through the wilderness with a machete`. The mystery is that if we choose him then he is in us and we are in him.

Psalm 77:11 “Remember the work Yahweh because recall away from the origin the your wonders.”

Ephesians 1: 5 G4309 Having predefined G1473 us G1519 for G5206 adoption G1223 through G* Jesus G5547 Christ G1519 to G1473 himself, G2596 according to G3588 the G2107 good-pleasure G3588   G2307 of his will, G1473

  6 G1519 in G1868 high praise G1391 of the glory G3588   G5484 of his favor, G1722 in G3739 which G5487 he showed favor G1473 on us G1722 by G3588 the one G25 being loved;

The word we usually translate predestined is “predefined”. But predestined is an unfortunate translation because it changes our understanding of verse four. The word proorizō is a compound word, pro meaning “before” or “prior”, and horizō meaning “to mark out by boundaries" or “define". What was before-defined or prior-marked out? Not individual humans. What is before defined or prior marked out by boundaries is the path to heaven. If one wants to go to heaven then one must confess Jesus as Lord and believe that he died and rose up on the third day. One must be “in” the Messiah, then he will be “in” us. The idea of predestination is Satanas’ way of confusing humans so that they fail to enter heaven. If one believes predestination, that one believes that he has no choice in the matter of salvation, heaven, or eternal death. One just walks through life without regard to their future. Who would want us to think that way? Instead the choice to be “in” the Messiah is ours.

The before marked out adoption by means of Jesus Messiah is due to his love for us. He created us and chose to create manfaced to be before his face in love. He did not predestine some people to be with him and others to go to hell, he predetermined the path of heaven or hell for us to choose. We can choose to be in Him or not. If we choose him then we have a release by the ransom of His blood.

Ephesians 1:7 G1722 by G3739 whom G2192 we have G3588 the G629 release by ransom G1223 through G3588   G129 his blood, G1473   G3588 the G859 release G3588   G3900 of transgressions, G2596 according to G3588 the G4149 riches G3588   G5484 of his favor, G1473

  8 G3739 which G4052 he abounded G1519 in G1473 us G1722 in G3956 all G4678 wisdom G2532 and G5428 intelligence,

Redemption is the release effected by payment of a ransom. The ransom He paid to get us released was His blood. He traded his blood for our release. His blood dismissed our paraptōma transgressions. We now superabound or have an excess in sophia, “wisdom”, and phronēsis, “understanding”, making known the mystery of His will.

Psalm 77:15 “To release on receipt of ransom in the your strength the your people the sons Jacob and Joseph, chanting.”

Ephesians 1:9 G1107 having made known G1473 to us G3588 the G3466 mystery G3588   G2307 of his will, G1473   G2596 according to G3588   G2107 his good-pleasure, G1473   G3739 which G4388 he purposed G1722 in G1473 him,

What is His will? That we be “in” Him. This was a mystery. This was not a public plan. When he created the cosmos he knew that he would create another race of beings, manfaced. But he didn’t announce that he would mark out a path to adoption for those who choose to be “in” the Messiah. Paul uses so many extra descriptive words because he is incredibly overwhelmed with the blessing of the knowledge of this mystery. The revealing of this mystery is for a particular age, the age after he paid the ransom of His own blood but He has yet to redeem us. There is a time period between those two events.

Ephesians 1:10 G1519 for G3622 administration G3588 of the G4138 fullness G3588 of the G2540 times, G346 recapitulating G3588   G3956 all things G1722 in G3588 the G5547 Christ, G3588 the things G1722 in G3588 the G3772 heavens, G2532 and G3588 the things G1722 on G3588 the G1093 earth, G1722 in G1473 himself.

The administrative period is called the “fullness of times”. An oikonomia, “administration or dispensation”, is a particular time period of specific rule. If we look at a presidential administration, we understand that everything that goes on during that time period is specific to that group which is making and enforcing the laws. There is a Social Security administration, which is in charge of collecting and reimbursing money and benefits to people. The rules are inherent in the administration. Likewise the time period that we live in is very different than the days of Abraham, Moses, or Daniel. We live in a time with different spiritual rules. Why? Because he already paid our ransom, we are simply waiting for our redemption.

Prior to Jesus coming to earth people were righteous by the way that they lived and the belief that the Messiah was going to come. After Jesus died and rose up on the third day, we are righteous by our faith in Him and our confession of Him as Lord and Messiah. We live in an administration that is known as the fullness of times. The completion of the administration is when we are called up, harpazo’d. The start of the administration is His shed blood, the end of the administration is his meeting us in the air. Recognize that it is not just the living that he meets in the air, it is the righteous dead from previous administrations as well.

The administration of the plērōma, completion of the times, is the summing up of all things in the Messiah. Asaph’s psalm is into the fulfillment or into the completion. We are now in the age of completion, we are in the administration where everything is summed up in the Messiah, all things in heaven and earth. The administration marks the set of rules that we live under, where we choose to be “in” the Messiah and he adopts us as his own.

Psalm 77:7-8 “Not into the ages pushed away Yahweh, and no not do again, the think well even now, or into fulfillment the his compassion cut off away from generation into generation.”

How did he choose us? He rolled the dice.

Ephesians 1:11 G1722 In G3739 whom G2532 also G2820 we were chosen by lot, G4309 being predefined G2596 according to G4286 the intention G3588 of the one G3588 [2all things G3956   G1754 1operating] G2596 according to G3588 the G1012 counsel G3588   G2307 of his will, G1473

“In this and cast lots before marked out boundaries downward setting forth the show bread the the all active downward the deliberate wisdom the his will.”

The Elohim cast lots, or rolled the dice. What does this mean? He rolled out the offer, and whoever chose to follow Him did so. No one is destined to eternal death or eternal life without their own choosing. He rolled out the offer of the predetermined path, from heaven to earth. He chose the plan and the race of beings when the earth had become formless, void, and dark all over the water and the land. Why? Paul tells us in Colossians and Ephesians that we are the plan to make known to the fallen sons of God the manifold wisdom of the Elohim and Jesus Messiah who openly triumphed over them.

We are an offering to the father. We are the bread in the temple, the table of show bread. We, who choose the Messiah, are seen by the Elohim as if we are the bread offering in the temple. This is an active downward motion from heaven to earth, meaning people choose the path any time they wish, and actively are displayed to the Elohim. This is His deliberate wisdom of His will. He wants a relationship with us, not as an overlord or harsh taskmaster, but as a loving friend, and Father. Our path to Him is open before his face. He sees us, our struggles, our victories, our pain, and our joy. We move towards him as fast as we would like.

Psalm 77:13 “The Elohim in the holy, the your path anyone, Elohim mega who our the Elohim. “

προελπίζω

proelpizō pro-il-pid'-zo From G4253 and G1679; to hope in advance of other confirmation

KJV Usage: first trust.

We have our hope in the Messiah. Our hope is in advance of our Messiah calling us up. We are in the high praise of His glory because our advanced hope is in the Messiah. This tells us that those who do not hope in the Messiah are not praised and are not in His glory. It is not acceptable to decide one’s own path for salvation, we are to walk the path that He laid out, and hope in His return. Then we are in the high praise of His glory.

First we hear the word of truth, the good news of our sōtēria, salvation. Then we pisteuō, believe in that good news. Once we have believed the good news then we are sphragizō, stamped for security by the Holy Spirit. The stamp for security shows the hagion epaggelia, sacred pledge. Who sees the sacred pledge that we are stamped with? All the sons of God, the fallen and the aligned, as well as demons. They know who we are. They see our stamp.

Ephesians 1:14 G3739 who G1510.2.3 is G728 the deposit G3588   G2817 of our inheritance, G1473   G1519 in G629 a release by ransom G3588 of the G4047 procurement G1519 in G1868 high praise G3588   G1391 of his glory. G1473

The Holy Spirit is our arrhabōn, earnest money or security, proving our klēronomia, heirship into apolutrōsis, release effected by payment of ransom, which is the peripoiēsis, acquisition, into laudation of His glory. We have cheerleaders in the heavens. We are being praised and lauded as we walk the path. Because we have the Holy Spirit inside of us, we are guaranteed that our ransom is paid and we have been purchased. Only Jesus the Messiah could exchange his own blood for our redemption. He manufactures wonders to make known to the people His miracle working power.

Psalm 77:14 “You I AM the Elohim the manufacture wonderful to make known in the people the your dunamis (miracle power).”

Asaph turns to the wonders of the earth and to the power of the elements. He sees something that he does not identify until three more verses. He talks about a storm, but interestingly just one in particular. We will understand it shortly.

Psalm 77:16 G1492 [2beheld G1473 3you G5204 1 The waters], G3588 O G2316 God, G1492 [2beheld G1473 3you G5204 1 the waters] G2532 and G5399 feared; G5015 [2were disturbed G12 1 the abysses]. 17 G4128 There was a multitude G2279 of noises G5204 of waters;…

“To see your waters the Elohim to see your waters and fear agitate the abyss multitude sound/noise water

Stormy seas create fear, but show the strength of the Elohim. The disciples were fishermen and they were used to stormy weather. Although with Jesus around, it seems the storms were more threatening than usual. Yet even the wind and sea obeyed Jesus.

Mat 8:23  And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.

Mat 8:24  And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

Mat 8:25  And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

Mat 8:26  And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

Mat 8:27  But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

Psalm 77:17… G5456 [4a sound G1325 3gave out G3588 1the G3507 2clouds]; G2532 for also G1063   G3588   G956 your arrows G1473   G1279 travel abroad.

Sound/noise gives the clouds and for your missile/jacio travel through.

In this verse Asaph refers to the Elohim’s “missiles”. In the next verse he notes the “lightning”. The thunder is in the wheel and the lightning appears.

Psalm 77:18 G5456 The sound G3588   G1027 of your thunder G1473   G1722 in G3588 the G5164 wheel; G5316 [2appeared G3588   G796 1your lightnings] G1473   G3588 to the G3611 inhabitable world; G4531 [3was shaken G2532 4and G1790 5trembling G1096 6took place G3588 1the G1093 2earth].

1) a wheel

τροχός

trochos trokh-os' From G5143; a wheel (as a runner), that is, (figuratively) a circuit of physical effects KJV Usage: course.

“Sound/noise the your thunder in the wheels (as a runner or circuit) appear the flash of your lightning the dwelling make to oscillate/shake to and fro and trembling becomes the earth indeed.”

The word wheel is a “whirlwind or tornado”, but also this same word used for the ophan/ophanim in Hebrew that is written of in Ezekiel. The ophanim are the transporters of the Holy Spirit, leaving the temple. Solomon says that the wise king winnows the impious with the ophan. Solomon says that a wise king will know how to weed out the ungodly using the ophan. The ungodly people are sifted by the ophan/ophanim, which tells us that the ophan know who is ungodly and who is godly. Solomon depicted the ophan in the temple, as transporters of the laver. Asaph recognizes that the ophan make the earth to shake and tremble. We should understand that we are not subject to the elements, we stand above the elements.

Psalm 77:19 G1722 [2 are in G3588 3the G2281 4sea G3588   G3598 1Your ways], G1473   G2532 and G3588   G5147 your roads G1473   G1722 are in G5204 [2waters G4183 1many], G2532 and G3588   G2487 your footsteps G1473   G3756 shall not G1097 be known.

“In the sea the your way and the your worn path in water many and the your footsteps no not come to know.”

How does one make a path or road in the water? Well there is one who walked on the water. When Jesus walked on the water were his footsteps known? Not really, but there was a path that he walked towards the boat that his friends were in. Once we get to this part of the Psalm then we start to understand what Asaph was seeing, the Messiah walking on the water in a storm.

Mat 14:22  And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.

Mat 14:23  And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

Mat 14:24  But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

Mat 14:25  And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

Mat 14:26  And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

Mat 14:27  But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

Mat 14:28  And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

Mat 14:29  And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

Mat 14:30  But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

Mat 14:31  And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Mat 14:32  And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

Mat 14:33  Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

Asaph was probably astounded over this idea of the Messiah walking on the water during a storm, but he wrote it to be sung in the tabernacle and temple. The people of David’s time all knew that the Messiah would walk on the water. The people of Jesus’ time either did not understand Asaph’s words and never heard this song, or they simply pushed Jesus away.

Psalm 77:20 G3594 You guided G5613 [2as G4263 3sheep G3588   G2992 1your people] G1473   G1722 by G5495 the hand G* of Moses G2532 and G* Aaron.

“Lead this sheep the your people in hand Moses and Aaron.”

Asaph ends by asking the Elohim to lead his people. His vision of the administration of the completion is on target, so much so that Paul also wrote about it for us. The ideas of Asaph were very obscure for his day, but after Jesus rose up on the third day then we begin to understand the administration that we are in. Asaph saw Jesus’ plan of redemption, the release by ransom of the children of the Elohim. He saw Jesus the Messiah’s dominance over the elements. Asaph saw Jesus the Messiah make a path in the water. We certainly want to be led by a Messiah who redeems us. The path is predetermined, the choice is ours.
