Everyone wants to know what their future holds. People are willing to pay fortune tellers, tarot card readers, and psychic mediums to be told what lies ahead for them. But we have a book that was expertly written by someone who witnessed the events of the future and wrote to explain them to us. Our problem is that we attempt to allegorize everything and mix the sequencing up to fit our own personal narratives. The events recorded in the book of Revelation are not hard to decipher, but people make confusing arguments to promote themselves or their own ministry. Instead of relying on people that cause us to believe false ideas, we can just read it ourselves. It is not hard, spooky, or mysterious, and it is self-explanatory. The future events taking place on the earth in the seven years prior to the millennial kingdom are clearly written out for us. Some of these events that are written in Revelation are written in other places in the Bible as well and this helps our understanding.
Every time we learn something new we have to unlearn something wrong. Sometimes the unlearning of one thing leads to other things that we need to reconcile into our belief system. Why did we ever believe that people died and went to heaven, and just played harps while sitting on clouds? Why were we told that the Stork delivered babies? We thought there were benevolent beings like the tooth fairy and Santa Clause giving us money and toys, and a guy with a bag of sand making us sleepy. However, learning and unlearning is a part of growing up. What we simply need to remember is that it is alright not to have all the answers now. We will resolve many things by simply reading what John wrote and remembering that it is the revelation or apocalypse of Jesus Messiah. You and I might believe on Jesus now as our Messiah, but there are people that will not believe on Jesus as Messiah until these events occur. Others will never believe Jesus is the Messiah and Yahweh who created all things. The tribulation period is meant to give everyone on the earth one last chance to receive Jesus as Yahweh and Messiah.
From September 2017 to September 2018 we covered 1 & 2 Thessalonians and Revelation. The three letters go together quite well because Paul gives us the running start to John’s vision. Instead of taking another year to break down John’s book we will do an overview that corroborates that study. If one wishes to get a running start the recommendation is to start with 1 & 2 Thessalonians, but we will do an overview of Revelation. Thessalonians deals with the harpazo, the rising up and away, the parousia, Day of the Lord, the Holy Spirit being taken off the earth, and the son of perdition in the holy of holies. All of that fits into the beginning of the book of Revelation.
The first thing we see is that this book is one vision, not many revelations, just one revelation. It is The Revelation of Jesus Christ. The Elohim gave this Revelation to Jesus Messiah to show his servants. This is not for the unbeliever or the casual holiday churchgoer, it is for His servants. If one is not a servant of the Messiah or a Messiah rejecter that one will not understand this revelation. It surprises me as to how many Jesus Messiah rejecters want to tell everyone what the book of Revelation says. This revelation is not for them. Therefore do not listen to or pay money to people who do not fully confess with their mouth Yahweh Jesus Messiah and believe the Elohim rose him up on the third day. If someone can’t say this then they cannot know this book.
The word “revelation” is apokalupsis (n) from the word apokaluptō (v) which is a compound word, apo, “off”, and kaluptō “cover or conceal”. Kaluptō is akin to kleptō “to steal” and kruptō “to conceal”. Kaluptō means “to take off the cover, un-hide, or reveal”. The idea of “revelation” is revealing something that has been stolen and hidden by a kleptomaniac. Who is the kleptomaniac? Satanas, who steals the truth from the world. What is the truth? The revealed words of the Elohim.
There is a blessing to those that read and hear this prophecy, and keep the things that were written because the time is at hand. This is the only book that promises a blessing to the reader and hearer. Yet this is the book least read and least heard.
Jesus gives John information for the seven churches. These first three chapters should be studied and taught in our churches today. Jesus is speaking to seven churches in Asia which have some parallels to our churches at present. Some of our churches are very much like these churches in Asia. They are also similar to our church ages up to the time of the harpazo. One reason pastors do not like to teach this part about the seven churches is that Jesus points out the corruption rooted in our churches. There are promises to the churches, there are condemnations to the churches, and there are messages to the overcomers within those churches. One church is promised to be harpazo’d. Another church is told that they will not be ready when Jesus does call.
After John is done scribing Jesus’ words to the seven churches he is called up into the upper heaven, or the kingdom of heaven. We know that this is the kingdom of heaven because this is where the Father’s throne is. The Father’s throne is within the kingdom of the Elohim. The beings that are around the throne are not all of the beings in their class, they are some of the beings in their class. The most righteous minister around the throne of the Father. This is why later we see angels that prostrate before the Father and the Lamb when the heavens roll back. The prostrating angels are not continually in the presence of the Father or the Lamb. This is also why much later we see one third of the angels cast down to earth. They are not all in the presence of the Father around his throne.
John explains the different beings that he sees around the throne, and the scene that is unfolding. Lightning, thunder, voices, fire, reflecting and shimmering in the sea of glass that surrounds the Fathers throne. This is not the place that all the sons of the Elohim congregate. Only the holy sons of the Elohim gather here.
John hears and sees something disturbing. There is a book or scroll with seven seals, but it seems there is no one to open it. The point is made that there is no one in heaven, on the earth, or under the earth able to open the book or to even look at it. All of the holy sons of God that are around the throne were not holy enough or worthy enough to open the seals or even look at the scroll. This should be a reality check for us. The beings around the throne are holy beings, but even they were not able to open the seals, let alone look at the scrolls. There is a point that no one was worthy to read, open, and look at the scroll. Sometimes we get a bit heady or prideful, thinking that we are the best and brightest the Elohim has, but here we see that even those allowed around the throne are not able to take this scroll. How would we fare? Apparently John is not stepping forward to take the scroll. This again is in the kingdom of heaven, the kingdom inside the kingdom of the Elohim. This is where the most holy will go if they attain the attributes that Matthew records Jesus telling us. Yet no one is able to open and read this scroll. Where is Jesus?
Jesus is not here. Jesus is not in heaven, on the earth, or under the earth at this time. Where is Jesus? Jesus is in the air meeting his saints. He calls us and meets us in the air. When Jesus is finished he enters the throne room to open the scroll and read it.

What does Jesus look like? He looks like someone who was murdered. He has holes in his hands and feet, and a hole in his side. He has scars on his head from the crown of thorns that was smashed into his scalp. He has scars on his face where they pulled out his beard. He has scars and deep gashes on his back where they whipped him. While he probably isn’t a bloody mess like the day he was crucified, he is scarred and shows the effects of his torture as John describes him as the Lamb who was slain.
Jesus walks to the Father and takes the scroll out of is right hand. This alone causes a grand celebration. There are prayers being made. There is singing from several different groups. There is one group singing a new song, one that could never have been sung before. It is the song of the redeemed. The redeemed are humans. Not all humans that were harpazo’d are in the kingdom of heaven before the throne, but the ones who are will be singing a new song. No one could have ever sung this song before. The only ones that Jesus Messiah came to redeem were humans, not angels, or cherubim, or seraphim. Jesus only came to redeem humans and the humans who are wise will enter the kingdom of heaven. They will sing something that was stated in Revelation 1:6. Humans are the only ones who can sing this song.
At this point we have to take a reality check of where we are in time. The World Population Clock gives us the total of about 8.2 billion people living on the earth. Of the 8.2 billion people 2.6 billion are Christians. This is important information. The reason we need this data is to understand the rest of the book of Revelation. We cannot understand the events that follow if we are unaware of how many people are on the earth. We all have a tendency to think small, like our nation or our city. But the Bible is speaking of a world population and worldwide events are being revealed. Therefore we need to look at some numbers.

The world’s 8 billion people remain highly religious (88%), with Christians still the world’s largest religion (32.3%, 2.6 billion), followed by Muslims (25.2%, 2 billion). In 1900, the Middle East was nearly 13% Christian, but in 2025, that figure is just 4%. The future of Christianity remains uncertain in this region, but we anticipate a continued slow decline.

Numbers tell a story and are extremely important to the revealing of this prophetic book. Numbers give us a picture that we can look at. If we look at countries by Christian ranking we see some surprises in which countries have the most Christians. We also see some surprises in whose Christian population is declining. If we look at the map as to where there are the least Christians what do we see? Where is this region? This number picture explains the entire book of Revelation from chapter six forward.
Every time we see a number given in this book it is not allegorical, it is literal. If we see numbers in sequence, then we follow the sequence, the numbers do not jump around out of order, they are orderly and defined. If we hear someone claiming that we are in the third trumpet and the fourth seal, they are mistaken. The seals are laid out in order, then the trumpets are laid out in order. They are not non-sequential and random. This is why they are numbered. If they were not numbered one could say the events they represent are random and could come at any time, however they are ordinal numbers and by their nature they follow their order.
This is a crucial part of the revealing and uncovering of what has been stolen and hidden by a kleptomaniac. Many people claimed that we were living in the time of the fourth seal when a bioweapon was released on the earth. That was simply not true. There was not an inordinate amount of people dying. There were people dying, but people are always dying. People who were in car accidents and motorcycle accidents did not die from the bioweapon, they died from the accident, but were counted as dying from the bioweapon. The fear mongers were everywhere with tallies on their newsroom screens of deaths. Wouldn’t it be interesting if they did that for the Ukraine/Russia war instead of the bioweapon? Maybe that would sour people’s taste for war if every day they reported the fatalities on both sides.
Here’s how we know if we were in the time of the seals. One quarter of the entire population would die rather quickly from war, famine, and everything else that comes with war. This means that 2 billion people would have to die from these four seals being opened. We would certainly notice a drop in the population of 2 billion people who died over the course of a month. We would see it, it would not be a mystery. But now think about this. Of the 8.2 billion people 2.6 billion are Christians. They would have left the earth in the harpazo. Let’s look at these numbers. 8.2 billion people minus 2.6 billion Christians equals 5.6 billion people left on the earth. If one quarter of the 5.6 billion population dies we are left with 4.2 billion people left on the earth. The population is going to shrink quite a bit.
We have to understand something. The reason there is a war is because of the harpazo. There are no Christians on the earth and the rest of the people will be fighting for dominance.
The Holy Spirit is not on the earth during the tribulation and neither are the believers in Jesus Messiah. When the Spirit of the Lord leaves the earth the god of this world has full rulership. Right now the one holding back the god of this world, that has to be taken out of the way, (2 Thessalonians 2), is the Holy Spirit. From the time of the harpazo until the Day of the Lord the earth is ruled by Satanas and his principalities and powers. The time at this opening of the first seal is the issuance of the decree, the being is an oppressor and an overcomer, a dominator of humanity.
When Jesus opens the seals he opens them in order. The first seal unleashes a being on a white horse. The being is wearing a bow. This is not a bow and arrow, it is a cloth bow, most likely a sash. It probably is not a bow tie or a hair bow. The being is wearing a crown. Now the crown is interesting because it symbolizes something. Authority. This is not a king but this being is a spiritual ruler of the earth now. He goes out to nikaō, overcome, or conquer, humanity.

The second seal is opened and peace leaves the earth. This is a time of war. The third seal opens and there is famine. There is always famine in war time. The fourth seal is opened and Death and Hell are released and they kill by sword, hunger and death, and animals.

There is going to be one fourth of the population of earth dead at this time. The beasts are killing humans too. Maybe both wild and domesticated animals.
Revelation 6:9 G2532 And G3753 when G455 he opened G3588 the G3991 fifth G4973 seal, G1492 I saw G5270 underneath G3588 the G2379 altar G3588 the G5590 souls G3588 of the G444 men, G3588 of the ones G4969 having been slain G1223 because of G3588 the G3056 word G3588 G2316 of God, G2532 and G1223 because of G3588 the G3141 testimony G3588 of the G721 lamb G3739 which G2192 they had.
The people who die under the altar are people who believe on Jesus Messiah after the harpazo and tribulation start. They are martyred for their belief. The thing to notice here is that there has to be an altar. As of today there is no temple or altar. Until there is an altar and a temple where the anti-Christ, the son of perdition, can enter and sit in the holy of holies, the tribulation will not start. Whether that happens before or after the harpazo is the point here. If someone thinks we are living in the tribulation they are incorrect as there has to be a temple and an altar. If a temple is built, and the harpazo has not happened, it will take place before the son of perdition is revealed. The revealing of the son of perdition cannot happen if the saints are on the earth as greater is he in us than he in the world. If the saints are on the earth the Holy Spirit is on the earth, therefore the son of perdition will not be a world ruler until after the saints and the Holy Spirit leave the earth.
Where will the temple be? Where will the altar be? Jerusalem. Now look at the map again. Where is the lowest population of Christians? The entire middle east is going to be fighting the rest of the sparsely populated regions and going to be vying for world dominance over Babylon.
At the sixth seal the heavens roll back as a scroll. The stars of heaven fall, piptō petō, fall down or prostrate. The stars do not fall out of the sky. Looking up from earth no one would even see that happening. The angels are known as stars and angels have jobs to do in the lower heavens. These are angels not residing around the throne of the Father. They are in the kingdom of the Elohim. These angels see the Father and the Lamb and prostrate.

It is quite a commotion when the Father and Son are revealed, or unhidden, from the kingdom of heaven. When people see this they are so frightened they want to die. Why is this expose` so overwhelming to humans? We have to recognize who is on the earth after the harpazo. If we look at the numbers again we see that 88% of the population is religious, but the Christians are gone and the Holy Spirit is no longer on the earth. The population has shrunk to 4.2 billion or less at this time as we saw people martyred. Now think this through. At this point, the world will have half the population it has now. There will be an exposure of the Father and Son, and the people will be manipulated, and coaxed, and badgered to join an alliance to eventually make war with the Lamb. People will hear that the Lamb is bad and that they want to rule the world themselves.
After these things John says he sees some other phenomena. An angel who has the seal of the Living God comes to earth and seals 144,000 young male virgins who have never lied from the tribes of Jacob. 12,000 male virgins from each tribe. The seal on their foreheads means that they cannot be harmed during the tribulation. No matter what fables we have heard the Bible makes it clear, these are young virgin males. These are not Jehovah’s Witnesses. These are not old Rabbinic men. These are not men with families. These are not women. These are young virgin males, who have never lied. These young men are not living in Israel but may travel there. They are from all over the earth and have been hidden until this time. They were scattered in the diaspora and they are being brought together. As we have studied there were Israelite tribes found all over the Americas as the explorers arrived. Ezra speaks of Arsareth/Arsereth/Arzereth. These 144,000 will follow the two witnesses. Enoch and Elijah are the two witnesses. They come to earth after the saints are harpazo’d at the start of the tribulation. They are on the earth for three and one half years.

Of the 4.2 billion on earth, people are still being martyred. Everyone will have to choose who they will serve, the beast or Babylon. Yet those who realize what has happened will not want to serve either group, so martyrdom will continue.
The last seal is opened and the Trumpets are given to seven angels.

The prayers of the saints are hurled to earth. Where are the saints? They have been harpazo’d and some are in the kingdom of heaven, others are in the kingdom of God. This tells us the future of the saints. We have some praying to do. This is one of the things that we are to do in this first portion of our time while in the heavens. The entire seven seals are all about men harming men. Peace is taken off the earth and there is war, famine, and martyrdom everywhere. The last seal is the prayers of the saints hitting the earth. Everyone will hear the prayers. Everyone will hear the voices. There will be thundering and lightening and earthquakes. The saints have the last word on men killing men. Our prayers have the last effect on the men of earth. Why? How many harpazo’d saints were martyred? How many were ridiculed for Jesus? How many saints were despised? How many saints were mistreated for the message of Jesus Messiah on the cross? How many children were abused? How many people were trafficked? How many were spiritually attacked, oppressed, and made sick? The saints have the seventh seal judgment for the earth.
What might we be praying for from our heavenly position? Will we be praying for people to be spared? Will we be praying against evil overtaking the innocent? What will it look like to have all the prayers of the saints collected and have them hit the earth? Will it be like a sonic boom? Up to this point men are killing men. The next section of the seven trumpets is the earth rising up against men. As Paul told us in Romans the earth is groaning and travailing. The earth is in distress. We will look at that next week.
