As we noted a few weeks ago, John is the only one who described the face of the father, while others like Daniel described the face of the Son before he came to earth. Other prophets saw Yahweh the Son, as well as Moses and Abraham. John describes the Father as waiting for Yahweh Jesus to show up to open the seals. There are other beings around the throne that are waiting as well. By this description we understand that there are many beings that have been created by the Father and Son, but whom we know very little about. They all seem to have had an existence longer than humans. We know that not every being ever created is around the throne of the Father awaiting the arrival of the Son. Every tribe of the sons of God have their own order and their own uniqueness. John is shown something that is in the future. A big celebration. What are we celebrating? Paul and John have mirrored prophecies regarding this event, both prophesying the same four points. Let’s explore.
The Father is like jasper and sardius, with an emerald halo encircling His throne. Around the throne what do we see?

The Fathers throne has a throne on his right, for Jesus, and twenty four other thrones. The twenty-four thrones encircle the Fathers throne.

Who are the twenty four elders? We do not know exactly. We do know that they are not human as the redeemed humans are on their way to heaven at this time. These elders are wearing white garments and golden crowns. If we remember the process that we go through to receive white garments and crowns, we realize that they probably have similar requirements. Humans have not been given golden crowns yet as rewards for the redeemed are handled later. The word elder presbuteros, is a noun that denotes age as in a “senior”. It is where we get our word presbytery. These beings have been in heaven a while. They didn’t just show up. They know what is going on, but the redeemed who just arrived do not. The elders are clothed with a bright white or brilliant, leukos, “garment”. The elders have heads and are wearing a stephanos, “a crown of gold”. This is not a ceremony for them, they have been there longer than the redeemed humans have. These elders earned their position and have been clothed in white and crowned with gold long before we showed up. Notice that John is not saying that they are assembling or walking into the throne room, they are waiting for all the redeemed to get there and are waiting for Jesus.
The elders may be from different tribes of the sons of the Elohim as they are identified as a group, not individually, and they are not described as the other sons of the Elohim are. They are described by what they are wearing, but not described the way that John describes the others.
Revelation 4:5 G2532 And G1537 from out of G3588 the G2362 throne G1607 went forth G796 lightnings, G2532 and G5456 voices, G2532 and G1027 thunders….
From out of the Fathers throne, not the elders thrones, departed or discharged lightning. Astrapē is a noun, not a verb, so the lightning is shining, not in motion from one place to another. We might say beams of light discharging from the throne. The sound or voice of thunder was heard by John. Brontē is also a noun, it is not thundering as if there is a storm, it is the sound or roar of thunder, a stationary sound, not moving. John sees light beams emanating from the throne and hears thunder as a roar.

This throne must be pretty large as not only are there beams of light and sounds of thunder coming from it, there are also seven lamps in front of it. The seven lampas, lamps or torches of fire burning are before the face of, enōpion, the throne. These burning torches are seven spirits, pneuma, of the Elohim.

It seems like John is saying there is the Fathers throne, then the elders thrones, then the seven spirits before the face of enōpion, the throne, like as a crystal sea, transparent, resembling clear ice or rock crystal.

In the middle of the throne is a circle with four zōon, living beings. They are full of eyes in front and behind. In an overview of the usage of the word zōon we see it is used generally for animals, as in the creation or for sacrifices, or just animals in general. These living beings are filled with eyes, the word gemō is a verb meaning “swell out”, it is describing the action of the eyes, which are in front and behind. The eyes swell out. John describes the four living creatures further, the one thing they have in common is eyes in front and back.

The first living being resembled a lion.

The third living being possessed the countenance like as a manfaced. Not necessarily a manfaced, but its countenance. Angels look like manfaced but are a different tribe.

The fourth living being resembled a flying eagle.

There is a little confusion here in the phrase “one by one”. The word translated “one” is εν, with no accents, which should be “in”. The word one is εἷς in the Greek. The word translated “by” is kata, “downward”. John is listing them, the literal phrase is “in downward in same” possess upon six wings all around or in a circle, and within filled eyes. The four all have the same six wings upon and round about, and within filled eyes. They have different faces, but wings and eyes in common.

These four living beings have no rest or cessation from labor, day and night they say holy holy holy Yahweh Elohim pantokratōr, all, pas, powerful, kratos, or omnipotent. Yahweh Jesus Messiah is omnipotent, all powerful. He is the was, and the being, and the coming.

We should notice that these four living beings say, speak, or call, “holy, holy, holy”, and they do not stop. The Robinson-Pierpont Byzantine Greek notes fifteen “holy’s”, split as six, then nine. The f35 group of Byzantine manuscripts has nine “holy’s". There might be more “holy’s” noted here than three but this is why it is noted this way in the ABP. We don’t know how long they have been doing this, since Jesus Messiah was in the heavens creating the world, since, he came as a man to rescue us, since he returned to the right hand of the Father, or since he left to redeem his redeemed saints.

We notice something interesting here. We have four living beings described, who say holy holy holy, day and night, to Yahweh Jesus Messiah. But these other living beings give glory, honor, and thankfulness to the one on the throne. We have one small group of four, maybe representative of larger groups, calling out to the one who was, and is, and is to come, Jesus Messiah. Then we have the general population of living beings doing something different in that they are giving or offering glory, honor, and thankfulness to the Father who is on his throne. When the general population of living beings worship the Father the twenty four elders fall, or prostrate.

The twenty four elders are prostrate. This is the same word here as stars “falling prostrate” in chapter 6. The twenty four elders prostrate before the face of the one on the throne, the Father, and proskuneō, worship. They cast their crowns before the face of the throne. The redeemed still do not have crowns at this point. These elders now speak as they prostrate.

“Worthy you are the Yahweh and the Elohim of us receive the glory and the honor and the power that you create the all and through the desire of thee was, and create.”
The worship is to Yahweh and the Elohim, and the elders say ‘receive glory honor and power, you created all through what was your desire, and create’. We think of this as an every day event in heaven. It is not. This is a special occasion. The elders are gathered, the seven spirits are there, the four living beings representative of some of creation, and the living beings in general are present. This is not every being in the kingdom of God, but these are the beings in the kingdom of heaven that is inside the kingdom of God. These are the living beings that came for a special event. What is the event?
Revelation 5:1 G2532 And G1492 I saw G1909 upon G3588 the G1188 right G3588 of the one G2521 sitting G1909 upon G3588 the G2362 throne, G975 a scroll G1125 being written on G2081 inside G2532 and G1855 outside, G2696 being sealed up G4973 [2seals G2033 1with seven].
The scroll was written on the inside, and on the outside or behind the back of the scroll it was sealed with seven seals.
Revelation 5:2 G2532 And G1492 I saw G32 [2angel G2478 1a strong] G2784 proclaiming G5456 [2voice G3173 1with a great], G5100 Who G1510.2.3 is G514 worthy G455 to open G3588 the G975 scroll, G2532 and G3089 to loose G4973 its seals? G1473
Now we see that an angel is involved in this grand meeting in the kingdom of heaven. The angel is asking who is worthy to open the scroll and loose the seals? No one in the room is worthy. It is a rhetorical question. The angel knows who is worthy but asks anyway. Everyone in the room knows the answer.
Revelation 5:3 G2532 And G3762 no one G1410 was able G1722 in G3588 the G3772 heaven, G3761 nor G1909 upon G3588 the G1093 earth, G3761 nor G5270 underneath G3588 the G1093 earth, G455 to open G3588 the G975 scroll, G3761 nor G991 to look at G1473 it.
John is making the point that all the beings in heaven are waiting for something, or someone. No one there was worthy to open it or look at it. There is no one in heaven who can open the scroll. There is no one on the earth that can open the scroll. There is no one under or below the earth that can open the scroll. Because we have read ahead we know that Yahweh Jesus Messiah is the only one who can open the scroll. Where is Jesus? He is not in heaven, on the earth, or under the earth. He is somewhere else. Where else could he be? Could he be in the lower air, the lower atmosphere? What would he be doing there? Jesus descended out of heaven to the air to call the dead and living in Christ.
I Thessalonians 4:16 G3754 For G1473 [3himself G3588 1the G2962 2Lord] G1722 in G2752 a word of command G1722 by G5456 the voice G743 of an archangel, G2532 and G1722 with G4536 a trumpet G2316 of God, G2597 shall descend G575 from G3772 heaven, G2532 and G3588 the G3498 dead G1722 in G5547 Christ G450 shall rise up G4412 first.

Paul wrote I Thessalonians about fifty years before John wrote Revelation, but here we see John mentioning the same aspects of Paul’s revelation. Yahweh stepped down or descended away from heaven. When Jesus leaves heaven the living beings will be gathered for this celebration. John is waiting with everyone, all the living beings, but does not know what is going on.

Think about this scene. There are many different living beings around the throne of the Father. The great angel asks a question but John is weeping. John does not say that anyone else is weeping. By his description everyone else is worshipping. They all must know why they are there, as compared to John who probably does not know what is going on.
Here is the first mirror of Paul and John. This is the angel that sounds at the harpazo who was with Jesus calling the saints up. The angel arrives back to the throne room first.

“and one from out of the elders says to me not weep Behold conquer/overcome the lion the from out of the tribe Judah the root David to open up the scroll and the seven seals himself.”
One of the elders tells John not to weep. This gives us John’s proximity to the throne and to the elders. He is standing near the elders so that one could then speak to him. The elder tells him who can open the scroll.

“And I know in middle the throne and the four living beings and in middle the elders lamb standing like as slaughtered to have horn seven and eyes seven this they are the seven spirits the Elohim sent forth into all the earth”
The word eidō means to know or perceive with the eyes. John knew what he was perceiving. All of a sudden in the middle of the throne and the living beings, in the middle of the elders, the slaughtered lamb is standing there. This is why the elder told John not to cry.
A rams horn is a war trumpet. Jesus just stepped down or descended to gather the saints with the war trumpet. Later there will be the trumpet judgments, the wrath of the lamb on the earth.
There are four points Paul and John both mention. One, is that Jesus descends from heaven. Two, with a war trumpet. Three, with an archangel. There is one more.

The lamb takes the scroll.

“And when receive the scroll the four living beings and the twenty four elders fall prostrate before the face of the lamb having everyone harps and bowls golden full incense this they are the prayers the saints.”
Now the four living beings and the elders fall prostrate before the face of the lamb. Now we find out that they have harps and broad, shallow, flat golden bowls of burning incense. Why do they have harps? Because the saints are singing.
The word for prayer here is proseuchē which is defined as “a place of prayer like a synagogue or a chapel”. It comes from the word proseuchomai meaning towards, pros, and pray, euchomai. Proseuchē is prayers from a temple or a church. We are the temple, the dwelling of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. The prayers are coming from the church. We are the church, the ekklesia, and at this point in the kingdom of heaven we are the “above congregation”, the “above synagogue”. To understand it let’s differentiate. There are prayers that come from people who are not the church or the temple. Then there are prayers that do come from the church and the temple. The prayers are in the house.
We see this word, proseuchē, later in Revelation 8:3 when the prayers from the church, the temples of the Elohim, are given to an angel who then throws them to earth. This is our part in the seal judgments, where men are killing men on the earth, the ones who were men, the saints who are the church and temple of the Elohim, have their prayers thrown to earth.
Rev 8:2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.
Rev 8:3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
Rev 8:4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
Rev 8:5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
The saints in heaven are the above congregation, the above synagogue. The saints are the church on the earth. The saints are the temple, the dwelling of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. The saints are the house of prayer on the earth, but in heaven they have become the above congregation, a new kingdom of priests.
Now in this understanding these are the prayers of the saints. There should not be a verse division here. The saints have now showed up. John acknowledges them in this celebration. The elders play harps and the saints sing, present tense.
Here is the fourth point that both John and Paul make, it is the redeemed going to heaven. Jesus descends from heaven, with a war trumpet, and an archangel, and gathers the redeemed to heaven. Both John and Paul see the same thing. Paul’s revelation is condensed and John’s is in the perspective of future events.

“and sing song new saying worthy thou art take the scroll and open the seal its that slaughter and buy the Elohim in the blood of thee from out of all tribes and languages and people and ethnos, nations.”
The only ones who can sing this song is the redeemed, the ones whose prayers come from the church/temple. No other people can sing this song, no other living beings can sing this song. Jesus was slaughtered for humans only; not for angels, living beings, elders, or seven spirits.
There should not be a verse break here. The focus is the saints and their prayers which leads to the next statement.
The word and in verse 9 is more properly translated “that”. The word they does not appear in the text. The word sang is the word “sing”. Someone translated it in the past tense but it is in the present tense. “The prayers of the saints that sing a new song.” Why are the saints singing a new song? This is a song that no one can sing today because no one has been redeemed yet. But the living creatures have a bowl of prayers from the saints that are going to sing a new song. What will the saints be singing about? It seems funny that the translators changed tenses, added words, and divided the verse in the wrong place unless they were trying to hide something from us.
Rev 5:9 And that they sung sing a new song, saying,…
It is prayers in a bowl not songs. The prayers in the bowl are from the people singing. Not people who sang or once had sung a song. They are the prayers of the saints in the bowl from the saints that sing a brand new song. Who are the saints? The redeemed. The saints are not angels, cherubim, seraphim etc. The saints are the only ones bought by Jesus’ blood. He paid our ransom. We had been kidnapped and forced to live under an evil ruler without a choice, but Jesus paid the ransom. No one else in heaven can sing this song. The beasts and elders are not singing about the saints, the saints are singing about themselves.

This song is a parallel to Revelation 1:5-6 but as we see in many modern translations the translators changed the recipients who were redeemed from first person plural to third person plural. Sometimes they change both words “us” to “they” and sometimes they change one word “us” to “they”. There is also a change with the word “we” to “they in some texts. Again someone is trying to imply the saints are not singing but someone else is singing. Who is singing the song? The saints. If the saints are not in heaven why would someone sing about their redemption as well as their future positions?
So far as we can see there are no saints in heaven until now. If your religion told you that there are saints in heaven, they are incorrect. Jesus says the overcomers are in paradise, not heaven. Yet now the saints, the dead who were overcomers in paradise and the ones who were still living on the earth, are in heaven, singing about what Jesus did for them. They are not singing about what Jesus did for other sons of God. Who did Jesus redeem? The beasts and elders are not singing this song, the saints are singing. The beasts and elders are not made kings and priests, the saints are. No other beings can sing this song, except the redeemed manfaced.

In Revelation 5:8 we see the four living creatures/beasts and the twenty-four elders fall down before Jesus. The cherubim and the elders fall before Jesus, they do not fall before the Father. They have harps for making music and bowls of incense which are the prayers of the saints. They are making music because the saints are singing. Now we see that as Jesus entered the throne room, he brought his congregation with him. They are the above congregation as they are now in heaven before the throne of the Father, and the congregation is singing a new song. Not an old song. A new song that only they can sing.
Here are the details of Revelation 5:9-10 as we have previously researched. This song is sung by those who have been redeemed. Jesus did not redeem angels, cherubim, seraphim, or elders. Jesus only came to redeem humans. Now the humans are perfected and presented and singing about what Jesus has done.

9 And that they sung sing a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests and we shall reign on the earth.
It is amazing what a few misplaced pronouns can do to mix up a verse of scripture. In any event, the pronoun trouble and added words, and the misused tenses, made this verse seem as if someone else is singing about the saints, which they could not be since the pronouns are first person plural. Only the saints can sing about the saints being redeemed by blood, and this is what Jesus Christ and the seven spirits tell the church in Revelation 1. With the word sing in the wrong tense, it seems as if the saints sang some time in the past, but they just started this new song, proclaiming Jesus worthy. No one else was found worthy up to that time, remember? Jesus previously gave John the understanding as to the position of the redeemed, those who believe that Jesus died and rose up. Those people will become kings and priests on the earth.

Now keep in mind that this is a celebration, a meeting of many sons of the Elohim, many living beings. John continues.

Now John hears the sound of many angels. So far John had only mentioned one angel, but now there are many at this party. They joined the saints and elders and living beings. The number “myriads myriads” is at least one hundred million and “thousands thousands” is at least one million, literally too many to count. It’s a big number.

The angels sing next.
“Worthy he is the lamb the slaughtered receive the power and wealth and wisdom and absolute strength and honor and glory and adoration.”
Where might the angels have been when John first got to the throne of the Father and why are they singing now? This is their last battle for the redeemed. The angels generally are ministering spirits and they were probably making sure that all the redeemed are redeemed, battling principalities and powers. They are singing because we, manfaced, have been their mission. Some from their ranks corrupted the earth, genetically modifying the human species. They have been tasked on many levels to war and protect on our behalf. They are celebrating because their mission is finished.
Coming back to where we started, talking about the above congregation, we see that once the church, the first born of this covenant, is harpazo’d then the angels celebrate.

“However come up to Zion mountain and city Elohim Living Jerusalem Heaven and myriad angels festal assembly, and church (ekklēsia) first born in heaven entered in register, and judge Elohim all and spirit righteous complete.”
A festal is a “festival or celebration”. There is a celebration among the angels and the church, (those registered in heaven) and the Elohim. The celebration is over all the spirits of the righteous being made complete. This is a huge deal. It is a party in the heavens. Notice the two places mentioned, one is mount Zion, and the other is the City of the Living God, called the heavenly Jerusalem. Just as there is a kingdom of God and a kingdom of heaven, the kingdom of God is mount Zion while the kingdom of heaven is the City of the Living God, heavenly Jerusalem. The writer of Hebrews understands the two places that people will go to at the harpazo. This celebration is about us being made complete and perfect. When is this taking place?

Paul tells us that we will judge angels. What might we be judging them for? How they helped or hindered manfaced? At this point these angels are the ones who enter the kingdom of heaven, which means that they are the tested, tried, and proven ones around the throne.

Now we see every created thing in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and on the sea, all the beings in them saying something as well. There are beings in heaven, beings on earth, beings under the earth, and beings on the sea. Who is on the sea? The ones who died at the flood. There are sons of the Elohim managing all these places, and the created beings in them which also include humans, manfaced. The LXX-WH reads slightly differently here. This is their song:
“The seated on the throne the throne and the lamb the praise and the honor and the glory and the dominion into the eon the eon.”
There are humans on the earth, there are humans in hades, there are humans and hybrid humans in the sea. There are humans who now understand in whichever place they are, that Yahweh Jesus Messiah is Lord of all. Why are the angels and other living beings singing? Manfaced has been their mission too. In our age we have no idea why this event is a celebration but it is a big celebration because the redeemed are rescued after being kidnapped. We are very unaware of ourselves, let alone the other sons of the Elohim and what an absolute tragedy our whole existence would be, every human perishing, if Yahweh Jesus Messiah had not come for us. Jesus liberates us. He liberates the angels attending us. He liberates the others who are also working on our behalf in the heavens and on the earth.
Revelation 5:14 G2532 And G3588 the G5064 four G2226 living creatures G3004 saying G3588 the G281 Amen. G2532 And G3588 the G1501 twenty G5064 four G4245 elders G4098 fell G2532 and G4352 did obeisance.
The four living beings say “amen or so be it”. The twenty four elders fall prostrate and worship.
This is a joyful gathering. Jesus gathering his saints is such a big deal that all created beings celebrate and sing. We have to see how tremendous this event, the harpazo, is. The angels and all the living beings sing about it. It is an absolute shame that Satanas has blinded the minds of so many people, including pastors and preachers, so that they actively and vehemently speak against the harpazo.
We are the church, the temple of the Elohim, and our prayers are collected in the kingdom of heaven. Our prayers are from “in the house” so to speak. Paul and John have a mirrored comparison of this time. Jesus descends and leaves heaven with a war trumpet and an archangel, and gathers the saints. The harpazo’d saints are now the above congregation. There are many different beings celebrating the event. This celebration might be a surprise to many as we are never told that there is a celebration over the redeemed saints arrival into the kingdom of heaven. Those outside the party in the kingdom of God, both humans and living beings, still celebrate and worship the event, but from outside the city of the Living God. We should be looking forward to this celebration, this festal gathering where we are made complete. We are the dwelling of the Most High, Mighty Almighty, and we are not forgotten.
