Dividing Sword; Apostasy and Defection; The Above Gathering; Unforgiven Blasphemy; The Holy Spirit

In our continued effort to increase our understanding of the Kingdom of Heaven and who will not enter, we want to look at a few ideas that Jesus gave us about his coming to earth the first time. Jesus says that he did not come to give everyone peace and prosperity. As Jesus sends out his twelve disciples, he gives them some instructions and ideas about preaching the Kingdom of Heaven. Paul provides additional insight into the apostasy which helps our understanding of Jesus’ words about people knocking at the door, but not entering heaven. Jeremiah had previously warned the Israelites about defecting from Yahweh Elohim. We should take note of their warning. Jesus also tells us about our words and making repayment for useless words, but he also notes that speaking against the Holy Spirit is unforgivable. With the way that people disrespect the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the word of God given to us by the Holy Spirit, we can see that Jesus was warning us regarding the Kingdom of Heaven. Let’s explore.

Jesus sends out the twelve to the lost sheep of the house of Israel and tells them to proclaim that the Kingdom of the Heavens approaches. He gives them instructions and spiritual power, exousia, for their mission. He then says something important for us.

Matthew 10:32 G3956 Every one G3767 then G3748 whoever G3670 shall acknowledge G1722 being mine G1473   G1715 before G3588   G444 men, G3670 I shall acknowledge, G2504 even myself, G1722 him G1473   G1715 before G3588   G3962 my father, G1473   G3588 of the one G1722 in G3772 heavens.

“Anyone therefore who speaks together in me before the face of men speak together I also in him before my Father in heaven.”

The idea of homologeō, “speak together”, means to “confess”, “profess”, “acknowledge”, “praise”, or “publicly declare”. Anyone who publicly declares Jesus is publicly declared by Jesus to the Heavenly Father.

Matthew 10:33 G3748 And whoever G1161   G302   G720 should deny G1473 me G1715 before G3588 the G444 men, G720 I shall deny G1473 him, G2504 even myself, G1715 before G3588   G3962 my father, G1473   G3588 the one G1722 in G3772 the heavens.

“But anyone deny me before men I deny I also before my Father in heaven”

The contrast Jesus builds here is between confessing Jesus before men or denying Jesus before men. This is the dividing line. There is no division between boys or girls. There is no division between the nations and Israel. Jesus is making one division. He is sending out the disciples on a mission and they have one division to look at, the difference between those who publicly acknowledge Jesus before men and those who deny Jesus before men.

This is a hard word for some people. At one time there were denominational churches that did not teach people to confess Jesus before men. Today there are millennial churches which are seeker friendly that deny the existence of hardcore rules and believe all “good” people go to heaven. In both cases the truth is/was not being told to the laity.

Jesus then goes on to explain to the disciples who are about to go out on this mission of announcing the Kingdom of Heaven with spiritual power, that he is not throwing peace.

Matthew 10:34 G3361 You should not G3543 think G3754 that G2064 I came G906 to cast G1515 peace G1909 upon G3588 the G1093 earth; G3756 I came not G2064   G906 to cast G1515 peace, G235 but G3162 a sword.

The word cast is the word ballō which means “to throw”, and the word for peace is eirēnē which means “quietness” and “prosperity”. Jesus is explaining that he is not throwing peace, instead he is dividing with a sword.  The word machaira means “a large knife for war or judicial punishment”. It is not a large broadsword, but a dirk. This machaira is the sword of the spirit, the rhema of God. Jesus is not swinging a large sword but a dagger used for thrusting. This means he came to get up close and personal with everyone.

Matthew 10:35 G2064 For I came G1063   G1369 to cleave G444 a man G2596 against G3588   G3962 his father, G1473   G2532 and G2364 a daughter G2596 against G3588   G3384 her mother, G1473   G2532 and G3565 a daughter-in-law G2596 against G3588   G3994 her mother-in-law; G1473

“I come for divide in two man downwards (kata) his father and daughter downward (kata) mother and young wife downwards (kata) mother-in-law.”

Dichazō means to “make apart”, “cut into two parts”, or “sever”. Kata is a downward motion, from heaven to earth. To make a division between people is due to downward motion from heaven. Why is the motion from heaven? Because the heavenly courts know who openly acknowledges and who denies Jesus as Lord and Savior. The division is from the top down. The dagger is precisely dividing.

Matthew 10:36 G2532 and G2190 the enemies G3588 of the G444 man G3588 are the ones G3615 of his own house. G1473

There are enemies among one’s own household. It seems unreal that members of the same family would be hateful towards one another, but as Jesus explained, there are those who behave this way. Jesus is causing division with a small dagger.

Who is for him, who is against him? The entire strategy of the devil is to divide humans up into race, gender, color, likes, dislikes, political parties, etc. But Jesus makes one cut; the division is between those who receive and accept Him and those who don’t. But there is a class of people who aren’t really for Jesus as much as they are for themselves and this group may not enter heaven.

Matthew 10:37 G3588 The one G5368 being fond of G3962 a father G2228 or G3384 mother G5228 above G1473 me, G3756 is not G1510.2.3   G1473 worthy of me; G514   G2532 and G3588 the one G5368 being fond of G5207 a son G2228 or G2364 daughter G5228 above G1473 me, G3756 is not G1510.2.3   G1473 worthy of me. G514

“The regarding with affection Father or Mother over me is not deserving me and the regarding with affection son or daughter over me is not deserving of me.

Phileō is a friendship love or an attachment with sentimental feelings, the type of love that one has for a best friend, not a lover. Jesus is saying that if someone loves their parents or children more than loving him, then they are not deserving of Him. What does he mean? He is going to die and take away our sins. He is also giving us eternal life. To regard our parents or our children above Jesus when they cannot pay for our sins or give us eternal life would be a bad idea. While family is important, family cannot get us into the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus is explaining the problems that the disciples will face when telling people about the Kingdom of Heaven. Families will be divided.

Matthew 10:38 G2532 And G3739 the one who G3756 does not G2983 take G3588   G4716 his cross G1473   G2532 and G190 follow G3694 after G1473 me, G3756 is not G1510.2.3   G1473 worthy of me. G514

“And who not receive his cross and accompany me back is not deserving me.”

We have an expression that we use that states “..we all have a cross to bear”. Clearly, Jesus believes we have a cross as well. If we do not receive our cross and accompany Jesus back, then we are not deserving of Him. Why? We cannot enter heaven without following Jesus back. What he requires is for people to do what is necessary in this life to enter heaven. Jesus already knows that he will be crucified on a wooden stake or cross. He says to receive your death sentence for following me and you will have the Kingdom of Heaven.

Matthew 10:39 G3588 The one G2147 finding G3588   G5590 his life, G1473   G622 shall lose it; G1473   G2532 and G3588 the one G622 losing G3588   G5590 his life, G1473   G1752 because of G1473 me, G2147 shall find G1473 it.

“Find his breath life/soul destroy fully it, and destroy fully his breath life/soul on account of me find it.”

If you are a soul searcher instead of a Jesus searcher, then you will lose your soul. Search for Jesus and you will save your soul. Any spiritual journey apart from Jesus is an illusion. No one can give you eternal life but Jesus. The counterfeit spirituality eliminates Jesus the Creator by whom everything was created; by him, for him, and through him.

Matthew 10:40 G3588 The one G1209 receiving G1473 you, G1473 receives me; G1209   G2532 and G3588 the one G1473 receiving me, G1209   G1209 receives G3588 the one G649 sending G1473 me.

The one accepting or receiving you receives Jesus, and the one who receives Jesus, receives and accepts the one who sends out Jesus. The Father sends out Jesus, and the Father accepts and receives those who accept and receive Jesus. For those who reject Jesus, the Father rejects them.

Matthew 10:41 G3588 The one G1209 receiving G4396 a prophet G1519 in G3686 the name G4396 of a prophet, G3408 [2a wage G4396 3of a prophet G2983 1shall receive]; G2532 and G3588 the one G1209 receiving G1342 a just one G1519 in G3686 the name G1342 of a just one, G3408 [2a wage G1342 3of a just one G2983 1shall receive].

The person who receives and accepts a prophet in the name, character, and reputation of a prophet, receives the payment of righteousness.

Matthew 10:42 G2532 And G3739 who G1437 ever G4222 shall give a drink G1520 to one G3588   G3397 of these small ones G3778   G4221 a cup G5593 of cold water G3440 only G1519 in G3686 the name G3101 of a disciple, G281 amen G3004 I say G1473 to you, G3766.2 In no way G622 shall he lose G3588   G3408 his wage. G1473

Jesus then explains that if someone gives a drink to a small one, a cup of something cold, alone, in the name of a disciple, truly in no way destroys his payment. If one receives a payment for receiving a prophet or giving a drink to a small unimportant person from a disciple they will receive rewards.

Jesus wants his disciples to understand that this gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven will divide people. People who will come to Jesus have to know that their lives are not their own, and they must take their cross and follow him. What is your cross? Everyone has their own cross, their own burdens, their own suffering. No one’s cross looks the same as another’s. In the end, the sword, the dagger of the Lord, will divide and those who are separated for him are then worthy of Him, and the Father receives those who accepted Jesus. However, there are people who will walk away from the faith.

Paul tells us about an apostasy where people actually defect from the Lord. He starts out by telling us that there is a difference between the Day of the Lord, Jesus’ coming to earth, and our assembling together unto Him. He is making the distinction between the people gathered to heaven and those who are not.

2 Thessalonians 2:1 G2065 And we ask G1161   G1473 you, G80 brethren, G5228 concerning G3588 the G3952 arrival G3588   G2962 of our Lord G1473   G* Jesus G5547 Christ, G2532 and G1473 our G1997 assembling together G1909 unto G1473 him,

2) the (religious) assembly (of Christians)

ἐπισυναγωγή

episunagōgē ep-ee-soon-ag-o-gay' From G1996; a complete collection; specifically a Christian meeting (for worship)

KJV Usage: assembling (gathering) together.

Technically, epi means “above” and sunagōgē means “synagogue”. Paul is telling us about the above congregation, the above synagogue. People were confused, thinking that the Day of the Lord had come. There will always be “Chicken Littles” who believe that every crisis is the Day of the Lord, but the Day of the Lord comes at the end of the tribulation when Jesus comes to earth with his saints. Before that time, the saints are gathered together unto Him. Paul is telling the Thessalonians not to be afraid by their misunderstanding. He is telling them that since they are not gathered to heaven the man of sin is not revealed.

There are many people who reject the gathering of the saints to the Lord. They are the same people who push fear. But there is another problem. As we saw last week, there will be many people who don’t enter the Kingdom of Heaven. We saw that not only is it required for us to know the Lord, it is required for the Lord to know us. We also saw that the Holy Spirit is a requirement for people to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. If people reject the words that the Holy Spirit gave us when holy men of God spake and were moved by the Holy Spirit, then they are rejecting the Lord. Many people will knock at the door saying Lord Lord, but Jesus won’t open the door. The problem for them is that at the time of the gathering it will be too late for them to change their mind.

2 Thessalonians 2:2 G1519 for G3588   G3361 [2to not G5030 3quickly G4531 4be shaken G1473 1you] G575 of G3588 the G3563 mind, G3383 nor G2360 to be alarmed, G3383 neither G1223 by G4151 spirit, G3383 nor G1223 by G3056 word, G3383 nor G1223 by G1992 letter, G5613 as G1223 by G1473 us, G5613 that G3754   G1764 [5is present G3588 1the G2250 2day G3588 3of the G5547 4Christ].

Paul doesn’t want the Thessalonians to be upset as if it is the Day of the Lord because that would require the timing to be the end of the tribulation. Paul considers the people who are believing incorrectly as being wholly deceived and seduced. People do believe the lies of seducing spirits and doctrines of demons even in our day and time.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 G3361 Let not G5100 any G1473 completely deceive you G1818   G2596 in G3367 not one G5158 manner! 646 LSJ Gloss:ἀποστασία defection

Dodson: ἀποστασία defection, apostasy defection, apostasy, revolt.

Thayer:

1) a falling away, defection, apostasy

ἀποστασία

apostasia ap-os-tas-ee'-ah Feminine of the same as G647; defection from truth (properly the state), (“apostasy”) KJV Usage: falling away, forsake.

There are two things going on here; the apostasia, and the man of sin being revealed, apokaluptō. Yet there are two types of apostasia. One apostasia is that people will reject or divorce themselves from the word that the Holy Spirit gave us and the other apostasia is when the people are harpazo’d, gathered together, episunogogue. There is a defection off the earth to heaven and there is a defection from the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul tells us about the rapture in so many different ways that it is our obligation to know what he said. If we receive his words as a prophet we will receive the righteous payment.

Paul goes on to explain the man of sin, the son of perdition, who will enter into the temple and sit in the Holy of Holies. He will come out and declare that he is God. This alone tells us that there has to be a temple for that man of sin to enter into. This gives us a baseline with regards to time as we see that there is no temple in Jerusalem then.

2 Thessalonians 2:13 G1473 But we G1161   G3784 ought G2168 to give thanks G3588   G2316 to God G3842 at all times G4012 concerning G1473 you, G80 brethren G25 beloved G5259 by G2962 the Lord, G3754 that G138 [2took you up G1473   G3588   G2316 1God] G575 from G746 the beginning G1519 for G4991 deliverance G1722 in G38 sanctification G4151 of spirit, G2532 and G4102 belief G225 of truth,

  14 G1519 in G3739 which G2564 he called G1473 you G1223 through G3588   G2098 our good news G1473   G1519 in G4047 procurement G1391 of the glory G3588   G2962 of our Lord G1473   G* Jesus G5547 Christ.

The modern translations make it sound like God chose us from the beginning of the creation. That is not correct in this verse. This is a religious belief bias. Instead, in the Greek it reads “God takes you up away chiefly for deliverance”. This then matches the context of Paul’s previous statement in verse 1. Paul may use a lot of words and parenthetical phrases, but he always comes back to his original point, the gathering of the saints.

Aihreomai #138, is used eleven times in scripture and is almost always translated as “took”, “take”, or “take up”. Twice it is translated “seems good”.

God raises us, takes us by force, away, before the commencement, or first for rescue and deliverance. The word aihreomai, from the word airō, also means to “take forcefully”, “elevate”, or “take from among the living. God forcefully carries you, just like the word harpazo, which means “to seize”. Those who love the truth are forcefully lifted up from among the living in the beginning of the commencement of the lawless one’s coming. Why are people taken forcefully? Because the living are under the authority of the god of this world. Yet because of their faith/belief, the living belong to the Lord and the day that he calls from the clouds the living are forcefully removed from the devil’s world. The living are taken away by God for deliverance, salvation, and rescue. Why does God take us up for deliverance?

God takes us away for deliverance or rescue first, in sanctification or purification of pneuma (spirit) and belief of the truth for which we were called by the gospel. Here we see a magnification on believing the truth, aletheia. The taking up and away is for the sanctification of our spirit. It is purifying our spirit, making it pure. This happens to those who believe/have faith on the hinge point, that Jesus died and rose up. The ancient prophets and believers who had a relationship with Yahweh looked ahead to this perfecting of the saints together at the same time. Their faith/belief was for the day that all saints are gathered together. They saw that they would be perfected at the same time that we would.

Now think about what we studied last week. There were people claiming that they were prophesying in Jesus’ name, they did miracles in Jesus’ name, and they cast demons out in Jesus’ name, but they do not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. The five moronish virgins did not enter the Kingdom of Heaven either. The people who received power but didn’t use it didn’t enter the Kingdom of Heaven. In all these cases people either lacked the Holy Spirit or rejected the Holy Spirit. Yet those gathered to heaven will be rescued in purification of our spirit. John tells us that we have an anointing that abides in us.

1Jn 2:27  But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

The anointing of the Holy Spirit abides in us and the Holy Spirit teaches us. We also abide in Him. This is also what Jesus said.

Joh 16:13  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

The Holy Spirit is not an optional benefit or something that we can do without. If we choose to do without the Holy Spirit, then we are choosing not to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

This is the place of the sword. Jesus came to divide, and when he takes his people up for deliverance some people will be left outside knocking. Some people may also have fallen away from the Lord by this time. This is a hard word, the sword of Jesus brings division to the most infinitesimal details. If people reject the words of the Holy Spirit then they are rejecting the one who sent the Holy Spirit, that is the Father. Some people do not understand that they themselves are not the pillar and foundation of knowledge, Jesus is. Jeremiah told the Israelites that their own apostasy would correct them.

Jeremiah 2:19 G3811 [2shall correct G1473 3you G3588   G646 1Your defection], G1473   G2532 and G3588   G2549 your evil G1473   G1651 shall reprove G1473 you. G2532 And G1097 know G2532 and G1492 see G3754 that G4089 [3 is bitter G1473 4to you G3588   G2641 1your forsaking G1473   G1473 2me]! G3004 says G2962 the lord G3588   G2316 your God. G1473   G2532 And G3756 I thought not well G2106   G1722 in G1473 you, G3004 says G2962 the lord G3588   G2316 your God. G1473

What happened to the Israelites who had spiritually defected from Yahweh? They went into captivity and many never came out. It is bitter to forsake Yahweh Elohim. Just prior to this prophetic statement, Jeremiah told them that they had committed two evils.

Jer 2:12  (Brenton) The heaven is amazed at this, and is very exceedingly horror-struck, saith the Lord.

Jer 2:13  For my people has committed two faults, and evil ones: they have forsaken me, the fountain of water of life, and hewn out for themselves broken cisterns, which will not be able to hold water.

The people forsook Yahweh Elohim and made for themselves broken water containers. Yahweh is the fountain of living water, but they couldn’t hold living water because they made broken religions. Their religious beliefs cannot hold the living water. Yahweh could not help them and their apostasy was going to chasten them. What do you suppose living through the tribulation will do for those who end up outside the Kingdom of Heaven knocking? They will only have one way to enter the Kingdom of Heaven at that point, they will have to be martyred for their faith.

Jesus gives us another warning. If we blaspheme the Holy Spirit then we will not be forgiven. Let’s get the context of this statement.

Mat 12:22  Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

Mat 12:23  And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

Mat 12:24  But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

Mat 12:25  And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

Mat 12:26  And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

Mat 12:27  And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

Mat 12:28  But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

Mat 12:29  Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

The Pharisees were claiming that Jesus was working for the devil and using Beelzebub to cast out demons. Jesus corrects their misinformation as they are speaking against him.

Matthew 12:30 G3588 The one G3361 not G1510.6 being G3326 with G1473 me G2596 [2against G1473 3me G1510.2.3 1is], G2532 and G3588 the one G3361 not G4863 gathering together G3326 with G1473 me G4650 disperses.

Jesus says that the one who is not with him is pushing him down and the one not gathered with him, sunagō, is scattered. Paul just told us the same thing, the word episunagōgē, above congregation, is gathering in the Kingdom of Heaven, but unless you are part of the sunagō, then you are scattered abroad. Jesus goes on.

2) impious and reproachful speech injurious to divine majesty

βλασφημία

blasphēmia blas-fay-me'-ah From G989; vilification (especially against God) KJV Usage: blasphemy, evil speaking, railing.

Blaspheming the Holy Spirit is unforgivable. No one will be released of the sin of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Those who speak against the gifts of the Holy Spirit are not forgiven. Those who claim that the gifts went away with the apostles are not forgiven. Those who speak against the written word, which the Holy Spirit gave to men, are not forgiven. Those who claim that they know better then the written word of God which the Holy Spirit gave us, are not forgiven. Those who do not want the indwelling of the Holy Spirit are not forgiven. This is a big deal. How many people deny the written word and the gifts of the Spirit? We can understand who will be knocking outside the door. Jesus continues.

Matthew 12:32 G2532 And G3739 whoever G1437   G2036 should say G3056 a word G2596 against G3588 the G5207 son G3588   G444 of man, G863 it shall be forgiven G1473 him; G3739 but the one who G1161   G302 should G2036 speak G2596 against G3588 the G4151 [2spirit G3588   G39 1holy], G3756 it shall not G863 be forgiven G1473 him, G3777 neither G1722 in G3588 the G3568 present G165 eon, G3777 nor G1722 in G3588 the one G3195 about to be.

Anyone who speaks a downward logos to Jesus is forgiven, but anyone who speaks a downward logos to the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven in the current age or the age to come. This is something that follows people into the next age, the Millennial Kingdom. All our sins are forgiven us, the sins of men are covered by the blood of Jesus, except for the slanderous and reproachful speech against the ministry and person of the Holy Spirit. The Father sends the Holy Spirit as a teacher, a comforter, a defense attorney and as a prosecuting attorney. The infilling of the Holy Spirit is a token of our inheritance. Jesus reminds them of the tree and its fruit.

Matthew 12:33 G2228 Then G4160 make G3588 the G1186 tree G2570 good, G2532 and G3588   G2590 its fruit G1473   G2570 good; G2228 or G4160 make G3588 the G1186 tree G4550 rotten, G2532 and G3588   G2590 its fruit G1473   G4550 rotten! G1537 For of G1063   G3588 the G2590 fruit G3588 the G1186 tree G1097 is known.

Now Jesus calls out the Pharisees as offsprings of serpents.

Matthew 12:34 G1081 Offspring G2191 of vipers, G4459 how G1410 are you able G18 [2good things G2980 1to speak], G4190 being wicked? G1510.6   G1537 For from out of G1063   G3588 the G4051 abundance G3588 of the G2588 heart G3588 the G4750 mouth G2980 speaks.

  35 G3588 The G18 good G444 man G1537 from G3588 the G18 good G2344 treasury G3588 of the G2588 heart G1544 casts forth G3588 the G18 good things; G2532 and G3588 the G4190 wicked G444 man G1537 from G3588 the G4190 wicked G2344 treasury G1544 casts forth G3588 the G4190 wicked things

Remember what happened to the apostles on and after the day of Pentecost? The Pharisees tried to stop the apostles from speaking and healing in the name of Jesus, but with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit they had the boldness to keep right on speaking and preaching. Now Jesus says something that we should pay special attention to.

Matthew 12:36 G3004 But I say G1161   G1473 to you G3754 that G3956 every G4487 [2saying G692 1rough], G3739 which G1437 ever G2980 [2shall speak G3588   G444 1men], G591 they shall render G4012 for G1473 it G3056 a reckoning G1722 in G2250 the day G2920 of judgment.

Every useless or thoughtless rhēma that men speak is repaid through His logos in the day of divine judgment. Every worthless rhēma tells us that men speak empty and/or unprofitable words. Maybe these are false prophecies or useless soul searching words professed to come from Jesus. Maybe this has something to do with the self-help sermons that people claim come from the Lord as compared to the hard words from the compilation of the Holy Spirit called the Bible.

Jesus is speaking to the Pharisees who just implied that he is someone working for the devil. Jesus says that they can speak against him, but cannot speak against the Holy Spirit, and every useless rhēma is going to be paid back concerning his words. In the day of divine judgment, every worthless rhēma will be repaid through His logos. People will pay for the unprofitable things that they said through Jesus’ words. There will be no escape. He is the judge.

Matthew 12:37 G1537 For by G1063   G3588   G3056 your words G1473   G1344 you shall be justified, G2532 and G1537 by G3588   G3056 your words G1473   G2613 you shall be condemned.

“For from out of your logos justified and from out of your logos pronounced guilty.”

This is something that we cannot overlook. We all need to work on our words, making sure that they are not useless, unprofitable, or worthless. But even more so, we need to recognize that the words we speak against the Holy Spirit are not forgiven. We will account for the things that we say. Therefore, it is to our benefit to seek the baptism of the Holy Spirt instead of disregarding the Holy Spirit.

Our entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven depends on our believing Jesus spoke these words for our learning and the Holy Spirit inspired Matthew, Paul, John, and others to record it for us. In the age of the fat and happy church, like the Laodiceans, we are blind. There will be a falling away from those who reject the Holy Spirit. There will be a falling away from those who once knew the Holy Spirit as well as Jesus, but decided to walk away from the faith for believing in their own thoughts and feelings. There will also be a defection from the believers leaving earth and gathering to heaven. Jesus’ sword and division includes only one cut, those who believe in Him as Lord and Savior, and the gift of the Holy Spirit, or those who reject Jesus and the Spirit the Father sent. With all the study resources and access to the Bible that we have today there really is no excuse to be like the moronish people who knock on the door crying Lord Lord.
