The
complexities that surround the attempt to erase Jesus as Messiah are far
reaching as we have seen over the past few weeks. We have compared texts and we
have noticed several things awry. Changes and alterations were made to the
Masoretic text to ensure that Jesus would not be recognized as Lord and
Messiah. These alterations started in the first century and spanned nearly 1000
years. Once the Masoretic text was complete, Jews had a text that read
differently than the Septuagint. The Septuagint being older and scribed under
the authority of the High Priest and the Sanhedrin prophesied a coming Messiah,
but when that Messiah actually came he was rejected. Therefore to alter text
and to alter meanings and usages of words would be the way to dismiss the one
who came as Messiah. We have studied the word Elohim. Yahweh is Elohim, the
devil is elohim, angels are elohim, and humans are elohim. Yet the Jews believe
Jesus Christ was not Elohim. That means Jesus is the only one who is not
Elohim. All anyone needed to do was a simple word study to make sense of the
word Elohim, yet somehow we let people lie and confuse us. Also the usage of
“im” in a Hebrew word denotes plurality. There is a singular, a duel, and a
plural in Hebrew, and plural signifies three or more. Yet the Masorete’s claim
that in the word Elohim, the “im” doesn’t count. In every other word in the
Hebrew language “im” is plural, except in Elohim. This is the way the
Masorete’s deny the Godhead as being Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And yes the
word “trinity” is actually in the Bible, it is in the Aramaic. This alteration
of the word Elohim also is an attempt to set the Jews apart from other
religions, claiming Christianity to be pagan. So with these two examples alone
we start to see a planned pattern emerging.
The
Masorete’s also changed the word Yahweh
to Adonai over 134 times in the text.
E.W. Bullinger notes these discrepancies in appendices 32 and 33 of the
Companion Bible. There are two typographical errors in the list and a more accurate
listing can be found online, but he still did pretty good work in the 1800’s.
Once the usages or meanings of Elohim
and Yahweh is distorted, a different
message starts to emerge. The new message seems to be that “God” is doing both
good and bad things to humankind; that “God” is harsh, and He is too mysterious
to figure out. And while Jesus was not erased from history, the new message
that emerges from these changes is that Jesus is a questionable individual who
was simply born a man, but somehow “became” a savior to the pagans. That idea
leads to the distortion of dispensations, where the Jews have tried to erase
the idea that a new system of grace and salvation came about after Jesus died.
Oddly enough, without the temple from about 70 AD through to today, something
obviously changed and without Jesus it changed to the detriment of the Jews. But
truly the story is very different. The intentional changes to the text
inadvertently changed the truth about the very Elohim the Jews attempt to
worship. While people might have thought that these changes would be helpful to
their cause, it poisoned the entire world when the Latin text was copied and translated
from the Masoretic text.
While
it is not my intent to disparage Jews, it is my intent to point out the
alterations made so that we have a better understanding of the Bible and what
the Holy Spirit wanted communicated to humanity. The Masorete’s have hidden in
the shadows accusing the Romans of textual misconduct, and while the Romans
merged paganism into Christianity and burned many texts (primarily gnostic
writings), the Romans didn’t tamper with the written words, the Masorete’s did.
Both parties used social engineering to enhance their cause and both parties
were wrong for doing so. The Romans kept Jesus as Lord and God and the Jews
dismissed Jesus as Lord and God. We cannot change history but we can use
technology to our advantage to uncover alterations that seem to discredit the
Bible. The Jewish alterations started in the first century and continued
through the Masoretic time period; that amounts to one thousand years of
changes before the Masoretic text was finished. The Masorete’s have been
responsible for sending their own people into confusion and dismay, ultimately
hindering them from their Messiah. Today, supporters of that religion attempt
to turn Christians away from Jesus with a confusing gospel that only they can
explain, and because the churches are weak in teaching advanced Bible study,
people fall away from Jesus. Let’s look at a few key alterations that were
actually quotes in the New Testament of Old Testament prophecies and see what
we find. We will look at the Septuagint, the New Testament, and the Hebrew Old
Testament parallels and then the New Testament Context of the quoted Septuagint
verse.
Isaiah
7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin
shall conceive in the womb, and shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call
his name Emmanuel. http://ecmarsh.com/lxx/Esaias/index.htm
Matt
1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and
they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. KJV
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore Adonai
Yahweh/Jehovah himself will give you
people a sign: the young woman* will become pregnant, bear a son and name him
‘Immanu El [God is with us]. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaiah+7&version=CJB
To
keep this in proper perspective, the Septuagint was written in 300 BC, the New
Testament quoted text was written in the first century, and the altered text,
whether Masoretic or Modern, was changed after the first century, perhaps as
late as 1000 AD. The word Lord here
is one of the 134 alterations made, changing Yahweh to Adonai. Yahweh
is the word “Lord” here, not Adonai. Another alteration in this verse is the
word virgin. The Latin translators
actually corrected the error of the text back to virgin so that the King James
reads like the Septuagint, but as we see the Complete Jewish Bible (a modern
translation derived from the Masoretic text) is altered. This is an attempt to
make Joseph the physical father of Jesus. This then would erase the entire
section of Jesus’ conception, so that Jesus would not be who he said he was.
This is one of the reasons Jews dismiss the New Testament and only read the Old
Testament and Revelation.
Matt
1:20-25 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord
appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to
take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy
Ghost.21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS:
for he shall save his people from their sins.22 Now all this was done, that it
might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they
shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.24 Then
Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and
took unto him his wife:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn
son: and he called his name JESUS. KJV
We
have looked at Jesus’ name in the Old Testament, and the etymology of the name
Jesus. The context of this quote is Joseph considering what to do regarding
Mary and her pregnancy. Another interesting point regarding the birth of Jesus
is the date of the immaculate conception being in December, which makes Jesus’
birth September. The Jews did not want the person who they didn’t believe was
Messiah to be known to be born on Rosh Ha Shanna, so while the pagan ritual of
Saturnalia occurred December 25th, the Jews may have had a hand in making sure
the truth of Jesus’ birth be distorted.
http://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2013/12/jesus-name-in-old-testament-messiah.html
A
prophecy regarding Jesus’ birth and the angels worshipping comes from
Deuteronomy. Luke gives us supporting text to the quote from Hebrews as angels
did worship at the birth of Jesus. Also, we have studied the distortion of the
word “Gentile”, Goy or Goyim; that the Greeks did not have a word that
described themselves as “heathen dogs” in comparison to the Jews, and that the
word “Gentile” should be translated “Nation/s”. http://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2013/12/gentiles-all-jews-are-goyim-multitudes.html
Deut
32:43 Rejoice, ye heavens, with him, and let all the angels of God worship
him; rejoice ye Gentiles, with his people, and let all the sons of God
strengthen themselves in him; for he will avenge the blood of his sons, and he
will render vengeance, and recompense justice to his enemies, and will reward
them that hate him; and the Lord shall purge the land of his people. http://ecmarsh.com/lxx/Deuteronomy/index.htm
Heb
1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith,
And let all the angels of God worship him. KJV
Deut
32:43 Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of
his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be
merciful unto his land, and to his people. KJV
Isn’t
it interesting that the Septuagint was quoted by the author of Hebrews? The author here is speaking regarding Jesus being
Elohim, and Jesus’ more excellent name. Here is the context.
Heb
1:4-8 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance
obtained a more excellent name than they.5 For unto which of the angels said he
at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will
be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? 6 And again, when he bringeth
in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God
worship him.7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and
his ministers a flame of fire.8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God,
is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
KJV
Luke
shows us that this prophecy regarding the angels worshipping was first fulfilled
on the night of Jesus’ birth. Angels still worship Jesus.
Luke
2:10-15 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good
tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.11 For unto you is born this
day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.12 And this shall
be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying
in a manger.13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the
heavenly host praising God, and saying,14 Glory to God in the highest, and on
earth peace, good will toward men.15 And it came to pass, as the angels were
gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now
go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the
Lord hath made known unto us. KJV
Another
prophecy about Jesus’ coming and the Nations occurs in Isaiah. Jesus comes from
the line of David, but interestingly we seem to see the allusion to people
other than the Jews rejoicing over his coming.
Isaiah
11:10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall
arise to rule over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust, and his rest
shall be glorious.. http://ecmarsh.com/lxx/Esaias/index.htm
Rom
15:12 And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that
shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust. KJV
Isa
11:10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an
ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be
glorious. KJV
The
context of the quote by Paul is the Nation’s receiving Jesus as Messiah. The
Nations will glorify God, the Nations will sing and rejoice. The Nations will
praise the Lord and trust in him.
Rom
15:8-12 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the
truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:9 And that the
Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I
will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.10 And again he
saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.11 And again, Praise the Lord, all
ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.12 And again, Esaias saith, There
shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in
him shall the Gentiles trust. KJV
The
next quote from the author of Hebrews points out that Jesus would be the
sacrifice for sin, not animals and burnt offerings; this tells us, and all
texts agree, that the volume of the book is written of Him. The whole book is
written about Jesus, not just a few verses. Yet Jews have been schooled that
Jesus was just some prophet, a man, not a savior. But there isn’t any prophet
in the entire Bible that had the entire Old Testament written concerning them.
All the prophets in the Bible have their prophecies included in the Bible, but
the volume of the book is not written about anyone who was a prophet, it was
written about the Messiah, Jesus.
Psalm
40:6 Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not; but a body hast thou prepared
me: whole-burnt-offering and sacrifice for sin thou didst not
require. 7 Then I said, Behold, I come: in the volume of the book it
is written concerning me, http://ecmarsh.com/lxx/Psalms/index.htm
Heb
10:5-7 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and
offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:6 In burnt
offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.7 Then said I, Lo, I
come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
KJV
Ps
40:6-7 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou
opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.7 Then said I,
Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, KJV
The
blood of bulls and goats cannot take away sins and the Father has no pleasure
in them. If we take into account that there has not been a temple since 70 AD,
then there is no remission of sin via burnt offerings. There is only remission
of sin through Jesus. This is a horrible blunder on the part of those who
distorted the text as all Jews are now fully aware of their sin and that they
will die in their sins if they reject Jesus. There is no atonement for sin
outside of Jesus as Lord and Savior. Sacrifices remind people of sin. Jesus
came to take away the sins of the entire world. The Nations (Gentiles) get it
and they rejoice, the Jews refuse it and die in their sin.
Heb
10:3-9 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every
year.4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take
away sins.5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and
offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:6 In burnt
offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.7 Then said I, Lo, I
come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.8
Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for
sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the
law;9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first,
that he may establish the second. KJV
Jesus
eradicated the first way to be forgiven of sin so that he could establish the
second way, through His death on the cross. He also gave us a name, His name,
to trust in.
Isaiah
42:3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not
quench; but he shall bring forth judgment to truth. 4He shall shine out,
and shall not be discouraged, until he have set judgment on the earth: and in
his name shall the Gentiles trust. http://ecmarsh.com/lxx/Esaias/index.htm
Matt
12:20-21 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not
quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.21 And in his name shall the
Gentiles trust. KJV
Isa
42:4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth:
and the isles shall wait for his law. KJV
The
distortion here suggests that the “Isles” will then practice the law. This idea
comes from the understanding that many people from a few of the tribes of
Israel left during the exodus and during the diaspora to other places, such as
the Greek Isles, Spain, and the British Isles. Those who left before the law
was given did not follow the law, and those who may have heard of the law could
not practice all of it as there was no temple in that part of the world. The
belief of the Jews was that their kin would receive the laws and follow them in
the future. Paul went west to these places preaching Jesus and those who were
from the tribes of Dan and Issachar readily received salvation through Jesus.
Those people later became known by various groups such as the Druids, the
Celts, the Angelos, and the Saxons.
Matt
12:14-21 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they
might destroy him.15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence:
and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;16 And charged them
that they should not make him known:17 That it might be fulfilled which was
spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen;
my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and
he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither
shall any man hear his voice in the streets.20 A bruised reed shall he not
break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto
victory.21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust. KJV
We
should ask, how did Jesus know the Pharisees were plotting against him? Jesus
left the area and healed all the people that followed him, but he asked them to
keep it a secret. Jesus held the Jews accountable for not knowing the time of
his visitation, Luke 19:44. Since Daniel prophesied the exact date the Messiah
would ride into Jerusalem and be announced, the Jews should have been watching
and waiting. Then, as prophesied, the Messiah would be cut off, or executed,
and that should have sealed who Jesus was in their understanding. Again we
notice that the Nations are happy about Jesus’ coming, not the Jews. This is a
possible reason as to why the Book of Daniel has been dreadfully cut up and altered
by the Masorete’s.
We
have already studied Isaiah 61:1 and Psalms 22:16 regarding one of the
attributes of the Messiah recovering sight to the blind and the piercing of his
hands, so I will not reiterate those verses but leave the links here. Yet it
seems no matter how much textual alterations there are, the knowledge of Jesus
still adds disciples. Jesus is still the Messiah who takes away the sins of the
world, and there is no special exemption for the unbelieving Jews. In fact,
that is what the period of the tribulation is all about, either accepting or
rejecting Jesus as Messiah. http://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2014/10/recovery-of-sight-to-blind-isaiah-61.html
http://musingsofawinsomeheart.blogspot.com/2014/11/jesus-face-god-of-living-resurrection.html
Many
people have done many horrendous things since the beginning of time because the
devil is the elohim of this world, who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. And
while it is up to us to resist the devil, Jesus has not left us at all. In fact
another textual alteration occurs in an untranslated word in Matthew when
Jesus, in his resurrected body, gives his disciples instructions. While the KJV
omits the word hemera, #2250, the ISV includes it.
Matt
28:18-20Then Jesus approached them and told them, “All authority in heaven and
on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore, as you go, disciple [3100] people
in all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the
Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to obey everything that I’ve commanded you. And
remember, I am with you each and every day [2250] until the end of the age.” ISV

NT:2250
hemera (hay-mer'-ah); feminine (with NT:5610 implied) of a derivative of hemai
(to sit; akin to the base of NT:1476) meaning tame, i.e. gentle; day, i.e.
(literally) the time space between dawn and dark, or the whole 24 hours (but
several days were usually reckoned by the Jews as inclusive of the parts of
both extremes); figuratively, a period (always defined more or less clearly by
the context): KJV - age, alway, (mid-)
day (by day, [-ly]), for ever, judgment,

Firstly,
we see here Jesus asking his disciples to make disciples of others. In other
words Jesus is asking his followers to enroll others in school. This is what
Paul told us to do as well. We are not to just preach, lecture, or tell others what
to do or how to live, we are to teach and disciple others. That means instead
of always having a quick answer for others, we want to teach the way to the
answers to questions and allow others to search out the scriptures for
themselves.
2
Tim 1:18 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the
same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. KJV
Secondly,
we see Jesus declaring all exousia (authority)
is given to him in heaven and earth. All exercised authority as a potentate or
magistrate is given to Jesus in heaven and in earth. While all authority is
given to Jesus, the day of His commissioning and coronation as king over all
the earth is in the near future. On that day, the day the lease of the devil as
god of this world expires, which had been Adam’s before the devil stole it from
him, Jesus will take back rulership of the earth. Jesus has the keys now to
death and hell, so authority in heaven is his as far as the death of humans,
but his authority of the world is soon approaching.
Thirdly,
Jesus says I am with you all the days until the end of the age. From sun
up to sun down, all days until the end of the world, Jesus is with us.
Colossians tells us it is Christ in us the hope of glory, Col 1:27. We cannot
get any closer than that until he calls the redeemed up. It is a shame that
there are people who have been kept from the knowledge of Christ with us. Isn’t
that what Immanuel/Emmanuel means, God with us? Yes Jesus is Elohim and he is
with us every day.
While
the attempt to erase Jesus from history failed, a great deal of confusion was
added to a text that had never been confusing. As all of these changes unfold,
we start to see a very simple, clean, and quite understandable message to
humankind. People wonder why they don’t understand the scriptures, but that is
due in part to one group adding pagan traditions, and another attempting to
disqualify Jesus as Messiah, and people not enrolling in school, discipleship
school. It takes more than opinions, religious belief systems, and physical
structures to grow up in knowledge. Likewise, we can’t assume that what someone
told us is always true without digging into these topics. If we rely on
Masoretic texts and ideals, we will be mixed up. If we go further back in
history to older texts, we will be able to find some wonderful surprises
regarding who we are and who our Messiah is.
