The Meeting, The Memorial; Scrolls and Tables; Sinai; Holy Nation

The goal in writing this Bible study for twelve years is to get people saved. People understand the need for a Savior when they understand that they cannot control what happens after their own death. As people get closer to death they look for ways to live longer. Yet eternal life is only for those who confess with their mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in their heart that Jesus rose up on the third day. Because with the heart we trust to righteousness and with the mouth we acknowledge deliverance. With this in mind, we also recognize the need for rightly dividing the logos that the Holy Spirit gave us. The pre-determined path of salvation is for anyone who chooses Jesus as Messiah and Lord. Part of that path to deliverance is the time when Jesus seizes his people and meets them in the air, taking them to heaven. As we have been drilling down on this subject we see that there is a parallel to a meeting that Yahweh had with his chosen people when he delivered them from out of Egypt. However, as we know, many of the people delivered did not eventually choose to follow Yahweh Elohim. Yahweh delivered them first because of the faith of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But in this age, we must choose Him first, then he will deliver us. Let’s explore.

We should point out that the calendar was still on a solar cycle at this time, and that the third month would have been around the Holiday we celebrate today as Pentecost.

Exo 19:1 (Brenton) And in the third month of the departure of the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, on the same day, they came into the wilderness of Sina.

This event of meeting with Yahweh occurred in the third month, but when giving the societal requirements Yahweh says to remember it in the seventh month.

Lev 23:23  And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

Lev 23:24  Speak to the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have a rest, a memorial of trumpets: it shall be to you a holy convocation.

Lev 23:25  Ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall offer a whole-burnt-offering to the Lord.

On the memorial of trumpets in the month of Immortalities (Athanim) we are to remember the meeting in the wilderness. The parallel to this in our day is that the Holy Spirit was given on Pentecost to those disciples who believed on Jesus. Then the Holy Spirit was and still is poured out on anyone who believes on Jesus as Messiah and Lord.

Exo 19:2  And they departed from Raphidin, and came into the wilderness of Sina, and there Israel encamped before the mountain.

Exo 19:3  And Moses went up to the mount of God, and God called him out of the mountain, saying, These things shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and thou shalt report them to the children of Israel.

Exo 19:4  Ye have seen all that I have done to the Egyptians, and I took you up as upon eagles' wings, and I brought you near to myself.

Let’s remember, the heirs of Jacob who left Egypt just walked to Sina (Sinai). Moses already met with Yahweh Elohim on these mountains, burning bush and all. This is not a surprise event as Moses had already told the people what took place when he was there; that he was to go get Jacob’s heirs, to leave Egypt and go to the land that was promised to Shem. Therefore the people knew and understood that this was a holy place and that they should be respectful of the directions that they would receive from Yahweh.

Exo 19:5  And now if ye will indeed hear my voice, and keep my covenant, ye shall be to me a peculiar people above all nations; for the whole earth is mine.

Exo 19:6  And ye shall be to me a royal priesthood and a holy nation: these words shalt thou speak to the children of Israel.

Did the heirs of Jacob keep Yahweh’s covenant? Some did, but not all. Peter reiterates this for the people who believe in Jesus as Yahweh and Messiah. The shift is those who believe as compared to those by birth.

1Pe 2:9  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

The shift is due to the unfortunate fact that the heirs of Jacob did not adhere to Yahweh’s covenant. Again, some did, but most did not.

Exo 19:8  And all the people answered with one accord, and said, All things that God has spoken, we will do and hearken to: and Moses reported these words to God.

Exo 19:9  And the Lord said to Moses, Lo! I come to thee in a pillar of a cloud, that the people may hear me speaking to thee, and may believe thee for ever: and Moses reported the words of the people to the Lord.

It all sounded good in the beginning, the people agreed to the covenant. Now Yahweh wants to reveal himself to the people so that they will believe and listen to Moses. Yahweh gave the people a prescribed plan to ceremonially cleanse and purify themselves. Then He would visit.

Exo 19:16  And it came to pass on the third day, as the morning drew nigh, there were voices and lightnings and a dark cloud on mount Sina: the voice of the trumpet sounded loud, and all the people in the camp trembled.

Exo 19:17  And Moses led the people forth out of the camp to meet God, and they stood by under the camp.

Exo 19:18  The mount of Sina was altogether on a smoke, because God had descended upon it in fire; and the smoke went up as the smoke of a furnace, and the people were exceedingly amazed.

Exo 19:19  And the sounds of the trumpet were waxing very much louder. Moses spoke, and God answered him with a voice.

Exo 19:20  And the Lord came down upon mount Sina on the top of the mountain; and the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.

When the people heard the voices and saw the lightning and cloud, and heard the trumpets (war trumpets), they became scared. We can think of Elijah, as he spoke with Yahweh at the cave in Sinai, Horeb. Elijah covered his head with a sheepskin, so that he could not see Yahweh. Even though Elijah had been speaking with Yahweh the day before, when Yahweh showed up in person Elijah became scared. I imagine we will be in the same position when we finally meet face to face with Yahweh Elohim.

Exo 20:18  And all the people perceived the thundering, and the flashes, and the voice of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and all the people feared and stood afar off,

Exo 20:19  and said to Moses, Speak thou to us, and let not God speak to us, lest we die.

Exo 20:20  And Moses says to them, Be of good courage, for God is come to you to try you, that his fear may be among you, that ye sin not.

Exo 20:21  And the people stood afar off, and Moses went into the darkness where God was.

The people were so afraid that they changed their minds and didn’t want to meet with Yahweh. They told Moses to go talk to him because they were too afraid to meet with Him. The people stood far away and Moses went to Yahweh Elohim. This is the meeting that they were to commemorate in the seventh month. This was the time they were to remember. The seventh month on the first day of the solar calendar, the 183rd day of the year, they were to remember the meeting in the wilderness.

Something we may not realize was that originally Moses had a book of the covenant, a biblion, not the stone tablets. Moses got the plans for the commandments, and some of the societal laws at this time. Later, after this time, Moses got the stone tablets from Yahweh.

Exo 24:7  And he took the book of the covenant and read it in the ears of the people, and they said, All things whatsoever the Lord has spoken we will do and hearken therein.

Exo 24:8  And Moses took the blood and sprinkled it upon the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord has made with you concerning all these words.

Exo 24:9  And Moses went up, and Aaron, and Nadab and Abiud, and seventy of the elders of Israel.

The people heard the covenant and laws that Moses was given, and Moses sealed the covenant between the people and Yahweh with blood. Our covenant is sealed in Jesus’ blood, which washes away our sins. Jesus’ blood was/is the payment for all those who will believe.

Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abiud, and seventy elders then went up the mountain and saw the topos of the Elohim, the location, or inhabited place of the Elohim.

Exo 24:10  And they saw the place where the God of Israel stood; and under his feet was as it were a work of sapphire slabs, and as it were the appearance of the firmament of heaven in its purity.

This sounds similar to things other prophets wrote for us, including John’s book of Revelation. These people that saw the place of the Elohim are called the “chosen ones of Israel”. Next, Moses is told to go up further and receive the tables of stone and the commandments.

Exo 24:11  And of the chosen ones of Israel there was not even one missing, and they appeared in the place of God, and did eat and drink.

Exo 24:12  And the Lord said to Moses, Come up to me into the mountain, and be there; and I will give thee the tables of stone, the law and the commandments, which I have written to give them laws.

Exo 24:13  And Moses rose up and Joshua his attendant, and they went up into the mount of God.

Moses and Joshua go up, but the rest go down. Moses and Joshua were on the mountain for forty days and forty nights.

Exo 24:15  And Moses and Joshua went up to the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.

Exo 24:16  And the glory of God came down upon the mount Sina, and the cloud covered it six days; and the Lord called Moses on the seventh day out of the midst of the cloud.

Exo 24:17  And the appearance of the glory of the Lord was as burning fire on the top of the mountain, before the children of Israel.

Exo 24:18  And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and went up to the mountain, and was there in the mountain forty days and forty nights.

When the forty days and nights were done, Moses received the stone tables of the ten commands from Yahweh.

Exo 31:18  And he gave to Moses when he left off speaking to him in mount Sina the two tables of testimony, tables of stone written upon with the finger of God.

This is when Moses gets the stone tables. However the people did not know that Moses would be gone that long. The seventy, plus Aaron, Nadab, Abiud, probably reported what they experienced on the mountain. They probably told everyone Moses and Joshua were called to go up further. They were the “chosen ones” after all.

Exo 32:1  And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people combined against Aaron, and said to him, Arise and make us gods who shall go before us; for this Moses, the man who brought us forth out of the land of Egypt—we do not know what is become of him.

Noah and his family spent forty days and forty nights in a boat with the door shut. The people knew this story. However Moses being gone forty days, after all the voices, lightnings, clouds, and trumpets, made the people waver in their trust in Yahweh. The people didn’t know how long Moses would be, but it seems that all it took was a month for them to completely forget all about how Yahweh helped them leave Egypt, and meet with them in Sinai. And Aaron, who was on the mountain and saw the place of the Elohim, allowed the people to worship a gold calf.

By the example of the heirs of Jacob, it is easy to see ourselves behaving in the same manner. No matter how many miracles we see or experience, we forget easily. The seventh month however is a memorial for immortality, a time to remember our offer for immortality. We choose immortality or we we reject immortality, it is always our decision. Immortality is remembered with voices, lightnings, clouds, and trumpets.

1 Thessalonians 4:15 G3778 For this G1063   G1473 to you G3004 we say G1722 by G3056 word G2962 of the Lord, G3754 that G1473 we, G3588 the ones G2198 living, G3588 the ones G4035 remaining G1519 at G3588 the G3952 arrival G3588 of the G2962 Lord, G3766.2 in no way G5348 should anticipate G3588 the ones G2837 having gone to sleep.

“This for you speak in logos Yahweh that we the alive the left behind into the presence the Yahweh no not precede the deceased”

Paul tells the people of Thessalonica that if people are alive when Jesus Christ comes, they are not going to precede the deceased. The living who are left behind on the earth do not meet Jesus first. The Thessalonians were told some confusing things by people who intentionally wanted to overthrow their trust in Yahweh and take over their church. Churches can be money makers for deceitful false prophets and false teachers. Paul is explaining the order of immortality. The dead are first risen up and while on their way, the living on earth who are in Christ, are seized along with them.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 G3754 For G1473 [3himself G3588 1the G2962 2Lord] G1722 in G2752 a word of command G1722 by G5456 the voice G743 of an archangel, G2532 and G1722 with G4536 a trumpet G2316 of God, G2597 shall descend G575 from G3772 heaven, G2532 and G3588 the G3498 dead G1722 in G5547 Christ G450 shall rise up G4412 first.

“That the Yahweh himself in command in voice chief angel and in war trumpet Elohim downward step away from heaven and the corpses in Christ rise up first.”

Yahweh gives the command and then there is a voice of a chief angel. There is a war trumpet sounding. Where is this taking place? In heaven. Then the corpses rise up first. Where do they go?

1 Thessalonians 4:17 G1899 Thereupon G1473 we G3588 the G2198 living, G3588 the ones G4035 remaining, G260 together G4862 with G1473 them G726 shall be seized G1722 in G3507 clouds, G1519 for G529 meeting G3588 the G2962 Lord G1519 in G109 the air, G2532 and G3779 thus G3842 at all times G4862 with G2962 the Lord G1510.8.4 we shall be.

“Thereafter we the alive the left behind at the same time along with them seized in clouds into the act of meeting the Yahweh into lower air, and in this manner at all times Yahweh together with.”

Then the living who are left on the earth, at the same time along with the corpses, are seized in the clouds for a reception in the lower air. Then, after this meeting, those who believe on Jesus Christ and confess him as Lord, will be with Him at all times. Where is Jesus? Meeting the believers in the lower air. This is why he is not in the throne room with the Father opening scrolls yet. He comes in after he has met the believing saints in the air. Jesus is the one that the people are awaiting and who is worthy to open the scroll, who is not in heaven, or earth, or under the earth.

What takes place first? The command of Yahweh. Second, the voice of the chief angel. Third, a war trumpet. Fourth, Yahweh Elohim steps away from heaven. Fifth, corpses rise up. Sixth, the living seized with them into the clouds. Seventh, meeting Yahweh in the lower air. Eighth, with Yahweh at all times.

Now if this is not quite understood, Paul has told the Corinthians that the corrupted must put on incorruption and the mortal must put on immortality. This tells us that when the command is given, the angel calls and the trumpet sounds, people will become incorruptible and immortal when being seized into the clouds. This is something that we should all be talking about. It is part of our holy day celebrations, remembering immortalities.

1 Thessalonians 4:18 G5620 So then G3870 comfort G240 one another G1722 by G3588   G3056 these words! G3778

“Therefore summon each other in the logos this.”

Call each other in this word from Yahweh. Tell one another about it. It has a special day set aside to remember it. This does not mean the seizing into the clouds will happen on the first day of the seventh month, but it does mean that every year we should be celebrating that we are one year closer to the seizing into the clouds. This is supposed to be what we talk about at church picnics. This is what we, the Body of Christ, should all agree on. We should not be making up illogical stories or giving incorrect opinions, it is written logos from Yahweh, just speak it.

We see the elements of the meeting of Yahweh with Jacob’s heirs at Sinai are a match to Pauls logos from Yahweh to the Thessalonians. There are too many connections to dismiss this, especially when Yahweh commands to celebrate it as a memorial on the first day of the month of Immortalities. There is no way that people in the Body of Christ, the called out, should not understand this unless they haven’t been taught or they refuse to be taught. We then have to teach others. It is part of our predestined path to salvation. Just like Yahweh met with Jacob’s heirs, he will meet with us. The procedure to the meeting is reversed in that Jacob’s heirs saw the miracles and all the commotions before they believed. We believe first, and then we will see the miracles and be a part of the seizing up to the clouds. We know Him because He resides in us. We do not need to visit Sinai to meet Yahweh. The Holy Spirit also resides within us and is our seal for redemption. This is the predestined path to eternal life for believers who will become a royal priesthood and a holy nation.
