There is a funny little word we may not have noticed in the Bible. The word is a preposition and also used as a prefix which is oddly translated. Our whole story is a story that comes down from heaven. From how we were created, to how we are empowered. Kata describes a picture of an eye, and a shepherds staff. It is a great visual for us to understand this word. Whenever we see this word we have to understand it as something coming down from heaven to us. It also tells us that we are not left here on earth helpless. The devil would like you to believe your birth was an accident, something that occurred when a single celled worm developed out of nothing, evolving into human form, and that you are in a struggle to survive. However the opposite is the case. What we see is that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us, and is truly trying to teach us about ourselves. When we look at Genesis we are being taught about our Creator via our creation. We see that there was a plan that came down from heaven. We also see that we are empowered. We have been given power from above, from the Shepherd who sees. We have a wealth of wisdom and knowledge as well as energy, vigor and strength, and miracle working power. Let’s explore.
The first time we see the word kata we see it used in reference to genos, which is “offspring or race”. Within the same sentence kata is used in reference to homoiotēs, likeness or resemblance. It is used three times in a pattern in two verses.

The pictograph o is a picture of they eye representing knowledge and experience, the l is a picture of a shepherd staff or yoke. Combined these mean "experience the staff". The yoke, a staff is lifted over the shoulder, is attached to the oxen for performing work. (eng: collar - with the exchange of the sound of the ayin with the c and the additional r)
We see kata genos, kata homoiotēs, and kata genos, in that order twice. There is a downward race, a downward likeness, and a downward race. Verse 11 is a downward race of grass seed, a downward likeness of grass seed, and a downward race of fruit seeds. Verse 12 is a downward race of grass seed, a downward likeness of grass seeds, and downward race of fruit seeds. What does this tell us? It tells us that the seeds of grass and trees were created already and brought to earth in the likeness somewhere else. Haven’t we heard of people who have died and come back to life who describe beautiful fields and trees? But this word kata, meaning downward, has another interesting idea attached to it.
The Paleo Hebrew is a picture of an eye and a staff. The eye means “see, watch, or know”. The staff means “teach, yoke, authority, or to bind”. In this context the eye and staff could mean “seeing and teaching”. When someone sees and teaches it is a picture of a shepherd. The Shepherd guides and uses authority with a staff, teaching by way of the staff. This downward movement of seed is from the Shepherd, our Shepherd.
We see the word kata used in verse 20 and 21 regarding reptiles and birds; on earth in motion downward, from above the firmament of heaven.

The whales and reptiles are downward genos and the birds are downward likeness. We see the seraphim which are fiery serpents with six wings, Isaiah 6. We see the cherubim, also called the living creatures, which have four faces, an eagle, an ox, a lion, and a man, Ezekiel 1. But there are also cherubim as depicted on the altar with only one face. We also see beasts who are full of eyes and they are individual beasts, one like a lion, one like a calf, one like a man, and one like a flying eagle which all have six wings, Revelation 4. Is it possible that the previous creations existed in heaven, but then were recreated down on earth too? It seems that these beings were made after their own genos below the firmament. We understand that there was a firmament of water around the earth which kept the temperature steady, and protected the earth. There was no rain at that time as water came up from the ground like dew. These beings were created under this firmament, on the earth, after their own race or stock. These beings then procreated after their own race. The firmament was pierced at the time of Noah.
Now we see the adam who is made in the downward image and likeness of the Elohim.

The Elohim manufactured the adam, manfaced. The word “our” is a possessive pronoun meaning it shows possession and relationship. Eikōn is “likness” or “image” or “portrait”. The Elohim says “manufacture manfaced downward our image”. Man is made downward from the Shepherd who sees and teaches, in the image of the Elohim, male and female, he manufactured them. Male and female, the adam and Eve, are manufactured downward, from heaven to earth, in the image of the Elohim. “Our image” indicates that whatever the image of the Elohim is, humans were created in that image. Humans are a portrait of the Elohim.

The Elohim planted paradise in Eden, downward. We saw the grass and trees were downward genos, and downward likeness. And the Elohim put the molded manfaced there in Eden. Now Eve is a downward manufactured being.

Eve is manufactured as boēthos, which means someone to cry out to, from the Elohim, when in need of help. She was manufactured and brought downward to the adam, from Yahweh Elohim. While Eve came from the rib or side of the adam, it seems as if the rib was taken and then Eve was created and brought downward to the adam.
When we look at the genealogy of the adam we see the Shepherd who sees, bringing downward to earth, the adam in the image of the Elohim.

Again it is reiterated, the Elohim made the adam downward in the image of the Elohim. The adam and Eve were manufactured and blessed. Then we find out that the adam was two hundred and thirty years when Seth was procreated, downward formed, and downward likeness of the adam.
We see that creation comes down from heaven to the earth. The seeing Shepherd is the doer of the downward creation. He sees, he teaches. We see that the adam was created downward from heaven to earth, and we see that Eve was created downward from heaven to earth. We also see that there is a downward forming and likeness from the adam and Eve to Seth. Technically, the birthing process is a downward birth. We see that the seeds come down from heaven, then grow and spread, just like the fruit seeds that spread and grow trees.
When we come to our time period, we realize that we are very far removed from creation. Yet we see that even today there are things that come down from heaven. If we keep in mind the paleo definition of kata, the Shepherd who sees, we see that the downward movement of things is from the Shepherd who sees to those who have faith in Him.

“Before he separated us into adoption through Jesus Christ into him, downward the good pleasure of his will.”
Proorizō means “before divided or before separated”. The good pleasure of His will is to downward adopt us after we were separated out. The seeing Shepherd adopts us. How are we separated? We separate ourselves when we choose to believe on the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We choose, then we are separated and adopted from heaven. It is His pleasure to adopt those who choose Him.
Ephesians 1:6 G1519 in G1868 high praise G1391 of the glory G3588 G5484 of his favor, G1722 in G3739 which G5487 he showed favor G1473 on us G1722 by G3588 the one G25 being loved;
“Into praise, honor, on account of in that He bestows freely on us in love.”
Paul uses long sentences and there should not have been a break between the last sentence and this one as well as the next couple of sentences. There is praise and honor because he loves us and freely ransoms us from our sins. Jesus paid the ransom for the sin that bound us.

We are ransomed through Jesus’ blood and have the dismissal of sins, and downward wealth through Jesus. Our Shepherd who sees and teaches us, blesses us with wealth through Jesus Christ. Wealth is not only money, it encompasses all areas of life. The next sentence helps us understand wealth.
Ephesians 1:8 G3739 which G4052 he abounded G1519 in G1473 us G1722 in G3956 all G4678 wisdom G2532 and G5428 intelligence,
“That exceed into us in all wisdom and understanding.”
Our seeing Shepherd exceeds in giving us wisdom and understanding. Part of our wealth is wisdom and understanding. Remember the Spirit of Wisdom commands intellect to obey her? That is part of the wealth we receive now. Let’s read all of these statements as one sentence.
“Before he separated us into adoption through Jesus Christ into him, downward the good pleasure of his will, into praise, honor, on account of, in that He bestows freely on us in love, into this to have ransoming through His blood the dismissal of trespasses, downward wealth on account of Him, that exceed into us in all wisdom and understanding”
The good pleasure of His will was to adopt us and give us praise and honor downward from heaven. The heavens rejoiced when humans were created, Proverbs 8. He then freely loves us and ransoms us through his blood. Then we have the dismissal of sins. He gives us the wealth of wisdom and understanding downward from heaven. The Shepherd who sees wants us to know and understand.
Ephesians 1:9 G1107 having made known G1473 to us G3588 the G3466 mystery G3588 G2307 of his will, G1473 G2596 according to G3588 G2107 his good-pleasure, G1473 G3739 which G4388 he purposed G1722 in G1473 him,
“He makes known the mystery, his will downwards his satisfaction that in him designed beforehand.”
Jesus makes known the mystery downward to Paul, who then explains it to us. Jesus wants us to know the mystery which is why he gave us downward wealth of wisdom and understanding. The mystery is Jesus’ will, he is the Shepherd who sees. Jesus is satisfied that he designed it beforehand, that he will bring all things in heaven and earth to himself. That is what a shepherd does; the guy with the staff gathers all the sheep into the sheepfold.

“Into administration the completion the fitting season gather up the whole in Christ in heaven and in earth in him.”
The administration is the dispensation or the time period that we live under. Think of it like a presidential administration. There is a set time that certain people are in charge, and then a change. Our administration started on Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came to indwell humans. There isn’t a time when the Holy Spirit will stop or cease to indwell the separated adopted sons of God on earth until we are gathered up to Jesus. Those left on the earth do not have the Holy Spirit indwelling them. This is a change in administrations.
At the end or the completion of this administration, at the right time, he will gather up all things in Christ; all the things in heaven and all the things in earth. The tribulation in and of itself is an administration, because it is the time that the sons of God have left on the earth. The Holy Spirit has been holding back the rulership of the satan, but at the harpazo the rulership of the satan commences. Let’s put these statements together into one sentence.
“He makes known the mystery, his will downwards his satisfaction that in him designed beforehand into administration the completion the fitting season, gather up the whole in Christ in heaven and in earth in him.”

“In that and choose by lot before separated downwards a placing in public in action all downwards the deliberate wisdom his will.”
Jesus rolled the dice so to speak and those who chose Him are His. He rolled the dice before we were separated downwards, by the seeing Shepherd. After we chose him he separated us and then placed us in public like bread on the table of shewbread. This is the deliberate wisdom of His will coming down to us. Displaying us as shewbread before the Father by the Shepherd who sees is His deliberate wisdom and His will.
Ephesians 1:19 G2532 and G5100 what G3588 the G5235 exceeding G3174 greatness G3588 G1411 of his power G1473 G1519 in G1473 us G3588 the ones G4100 believing, G2596 according to G3588 the G1753 energy G3588 of the G2904 might G3588 G2479 of his strength,
“And anyone surpass greatness his miracle working power into us have faith, downwards the energy, the vigor, the strength….”
This sentence is not finished as it connects to the next sentence. Anyone can surpass greatness in his miracle working power to us who have faith . If we do have faith, we have from above downward the energy, the vigor, and the strength, that operates in the Christ.

“…that operates in the Christ. He awakened out from among the dead and set down in the right side him in the heavens.”
By our faith we can have the same energy, might, and strength that works in, or operates in, the Messiah, the anointed one. Jesus awakened out from among the dead and set down in the right side of the Father in the heavens. This energy, vigor, and strength, comes downward from the seeing Teacher. If we understand our story, Jesus said that the works that he did we would do also, and greater, because he was going to the Father. Our seeing Shepherd has made energy, vigor, and strength available to us if we have faith.
Paul continues to help us understand more of what the seeing Shepherd downward imparts to us. Paul tells us that the nations are joint heirs, and of a joint body, and are joint partakers in His promise. Paul then speaks about himself.

“That became a servant downwards, the gift on account of the Elohim he offer downward the operation his miracle power.”
Paul became a servant which was a downward gift from the Elohim. The Elohim gave him the downward operation of miracle working power, dunamis. Paul’s miracle power came downward from heaven. Our miracle power comes down from heaven. As we have studied the Holy Spirit we saw that by us gathering the fruits of the Spirit we would produce the produce of the Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit. This produce is a gift from heaven to earth, from the seeing Shepherd to us.
Ephesians 3:8 G1473 To me G3588 the G1647 less than the least G3956 of all G3588 of the G39 holy ones, G1325 was given G3588 G5484 this favor G3778 G1722 among G3588 the G1484 nations G2097 to announce good news -- G3588 the G421 untraceable G4149 riches G3588 of the G5547 Christ,
“I the least important all the holy ones, offer on account of this in the ethnic groups I bring good news the unsearchable wealth the Christ…”
Paul says that he is the least important of all the saints. We think of him as the most important of all the saints, as he wrote so much for us to learn and understand. Because he persecuted the church before he believed on Jesus he counts himself as less than all others. But Paul fearlessly brought the good news to the nations. Paul brought the unsearchable wealth of Christ and he brought light to all people, to anyone who would listen, regarding the partnership of the mystery.

The mystery is a partnership between the adopted children of God and Jesus. This was a secret that none of the heavenly beings knew about besides the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The angels didn’t know, the devil didn’t know, the satan didn’t know, the cherubim didn’t know, the seraphim didn’t know. No one knew what this partnership would be about, between believing humans and Christ.

By humans, angels are judged. We judge them, but they are judged by their actions. We know that there are one third of the angels that have rejected the Lord and aligned with the satan, but humans were the plan for their judgment. We were created to clean up the mess of angels who defected. Through the called out, the heavenly beings now know they are judged. This is why it was a mystery that Christ could dwell in us. If they had known, they never would have crucified the Lord of Glory.

We have access to the seeing Shepherd, in trust, through our faith in him. We can be confident in our access to him. We are the plan. We have the downward wisdom, understanding, energy, vigor, strength, and miracle working power, from heaven to us. Our Shepherd is teaching us, guiding us, and yoking us to him for this very purpose.
Paul then asks for the Ephesians not to be tired of his afflictions and then says that he bends his knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ of who every family lineage in heaven and in earth is named.

The Holy Spirit comes into the interior man to inhabit us then the Christ can inhabit us, through the trust in our heart, in love we are rooted and founded so that we have strength to seize the width, length, depth, and height.

We have the strength to seize the width, length, depth, and height, just like all the holy ones, and anyone can, by the Holy Spirit coming into the interior of them. We can know the four dimensions of the love of Christ. Christs’ love is not one dimensional, it is not flat, it is multifaceted.

We can also come to know the surpassing knowledge or judicial inquiry of love. We can ask those questions of the Holy Spirit who dwells inside of us. This is how we are made full in all the fullness of the Elohim. It is deeper than a head knowledge. It is wider than we can see, from east to west. It is higher than we can see, from heaven to earth. It is longer in time than we can understand when we think of time.

Those who are capable above all are made to stretch beyond measure what is asked for or understood, by downward miracle power that is active in us. The seeing Shepherd gives us miracle power that is active in us. We are capable of anything we are asked to do. We are over qualified for what we do, meaning we have more miracle working power than we recognize and understand. It is power that came down from heaven to us and our Shepherd sees what we need to do and has enabled us for that purpose.
In understanding our story, the story of manfaced, we see that there are elements of the heavens coming down to earth in the performance of creation. We see the Creator creating from a place above earth. We then see that we have not been left unattended. The Shepherd has been teaching and guiding us if we have chosen Him. For those who reject the Shepherd, they do not have the benefits of the sons of God. We have been given a wealth of wisdom and understanding, from heaven to earth. We have been given energy, vigor, and strength, meaning we have been given power that moves like lightning. Our power is not stagnant. It moves from heaven down to earth, through us, in active energy, working on the earth. We have vigor, or force, and dominion, from heaven, through us, out onto the earth. We have strength, ability, and force, from heaven, through us, out onto the earth. We also have miraculous power, physical power, and powerful deeds, from heaven through us, out onto the earth. The Holy Spirit indwells humans so that Christ can also inhabit us. We are not alone. We are not powerless. We are greatly loved and can comprehend that love if we desire. We are strong, we are mighty, and we have everything we need to change the dynamics on the earth. We are the plan which was in place before the world began. We are the mystery that will subdue evil in the universe. It is our time to learn and grow so that we are capable and able. We are the plan to clean up cosmic evil, and our power is from the heavens, from the Shepherd that sees.
