Over Light, Wicked Light; Proud Rahab; Truth in the Ekklesia; Gospel in the Heavens, Mazzaroth

Sometimes the Lord speaks to us in parallel story lines. In plane geometry a parallel is two lines existing side by side that do not intersect. A parallel can be something similar or analogous. A parallel can be an equivalent or a correlation. Sometimes our parallel lines can have an intersecting line, a transversal line. This third line connects the two parallel lines. It then creates eight angles, four angles at the intersection of each separate line. What does this mean? This is an illustration of the depth within our Bible. There may be more than one meaning hidden in plane/plain sight. This goes beyond our three/four dimensional understanding.

When Yahweh tells us something, there can be another message hidden alongside of it. We might not realize it at first, but with a little work we can understand the parallel or double meaning. For example, Ezekiel talks about the prince of Tyrus/Tyre. In Hebrew the word is Tzor, a rock. It is a place in Phoenicia which was occupied by the Philistines, the mixed races of Nephilim. On one parallel line we see an earthly inhabited place of mixed race Nephil. On the other parallel line we see this as a reference to the satan, as the earthly human prince was never in the upper heavens before the Lord and was not created there. This is a parallel. Sometimes our parallel’s have an intersecting line. There is one here. Line one is explaining the physical heirs of the Nephil on the earth. Line two is explaining the spiritual being, the satan, that enticed some angels to come to earth and procreate the Nephilim. Line three, the intersection, is the rock. While the earthly place of Tyre/Tyrus/Tzor is a rocky cliff, there is a very predominant rock in Jerusalem, now observed by many as a holy place, spiritually promoted by the satan and his heavenly followers. Tyre was the place of the people of the rock, today the people of the rock are in Jerusalem.

It takes time to study these types of parallels and we may not notice them at first glance. Rahab is one of those parallels that is hard to pin down because the Masoretic Text which was translated from the older text, the Septuagint, translated words corresponding to Rahab, randomly.

Psalms 89:1 I will sing of thy mercies, O Lord, for ever: I will declare thy truth with my mouth to all generations. 2 For thou hast said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy truth shall be established in the heavens. 3 I made a covenant with my chosen ones, I sware unto David my servant. 4 I will establish thy seed for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Pause.

The first thing that we should notice, Ethan the Ezrahite is singing about the truth, alētheia, of the things the Lord has said. Then he points out what the Lord said. The truth shall be established in the heavens. What is in the heavens? In the physical heavens there are planets, moons, an asteroid belt, stars, electromagnetic waves, black holes, etc. What else is in the heavens? Constellations that tell the story of the gospel, which are known by the names given to each star, the Mazzaroth. What else is in the heavens? The heavenly sons of God, the levels of heaven, the prisons with disobedient heavenly beings, the throne. Which one of these stories is Yahweh talking about? All of them. One story of truth which is physical is the broken planet that became an asteroid belt. Another story is the establishing of the seed of men, according to the Mazzaroth. Another story is the casting out of the satan from the upper heavens.

Psalms 89:5 The heavens shall declare thy wonders, O Lord; and thy truth in the assembly of the saints. 6 For who in the heavens shall be compared to the Lord? and who shall be likened to the Lord among the sons of God?

Ethan says that the heavens will declare thy wonders. The alētheia, truth, is in the assembly, ekklēsia, of the saints. The truth is in the called out. The truth is in the church. This is the story of Pisces, the two fish, the Greater and Lesser Sheepfold, and Argo the ship. Ethan is not talking about something simple like a meteor shower or other heavenly phenomenon. He is talking about the gospel in the stars, as well as the dimension that we cannot see, the habitation of the heavenly sons of God. THE TRUTH is in the EKKLESIA. The Holy Spirit and dunamis reside within the ekklesia, the called out saints.

Ethan makes a point that none of the sons of God are like Yahweh. None of the sons of God can compare to Yahweh. Think about that idea. No other being, no matter how pretty or how large, no matter where that being wants to set up a throne, can compare to Yahweh. There is no being that Yahweh created that is equal to Him. All created beings are as clay pots compared to the potter.

Psalms 89:7 God is glorified in the council of the saints; great and terrible toward all that are round about him. 8 O Lord God of hosts, who is like to thee? thou art mighty, O Lord, and thy truth is round about thee. 9 Thou rulest the power of the sea; and thou calmest the tumult of its waves. 10 Thou has brought down the proud as one that is slain; and with the arm of thy power thou has scattered thine enemies. 11 The heavens are thine, and the earth is thine: thou hast founded the world, and the fullness of it.

Next Ethan says that the Elohim is glorified in the counsel of the holy ones. Elohim is plural in Hebrew, meaning three or more. Elohim is a title meaning three or more kings or presidents, or rulers. With the article “the” it means supreme divinity or the Godhead, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Yahweh is incomparable and the Godhead is glorified by the saints. Then Ethan gets specific and says that no one is like Yahweh Elohim of the dunamis, forces. Yahweh Elohim is dunatos, mighty. As we remember, we, the called out, have dunamis. Yahweh’s alētheia truth is all around him. Yahweh brought down the proud Rahab as one that is slain. Didn’t verse two say that Yahweh established his truth in the heavens. Then verse five said the truth is in the ekklēsia. The truth can be found in both places, in the heavens and in the called out saints. This is a disclosed parallel for alētheia, truth.

The idea that Yahweh has slain proud people is not quite accurate as we have many proud people on the earth today. What proud beings or things is he speaking of?

φαίνω
phainō fah'ee-no Prolongation for the base of G5457; to lighten (shine), that is, show (transitive or intransitive, literal or figurative) KJV Usage: appear, seem, be seen, shine, X think.

This word is translated seven different ways in Hebrew, but should be translated only one way like the Greek. Huperēphanos has been translated as “Rahab” in Hebrew a few times, but not consistently all the time. We have to dig to understand this, and we then see a parallel meaning. Huper means above and phainō means to shine or lighten. Phainō can also mean appear. If we combine it with huper we have an “above appearing”.

Here is another parallel. An above appearing in this case is similar to, but not identical to “epiphany” which is epiphainō. Huper means “above in place as exceeding or superior”, while epi is “above” as in “superimposed or over”. There will be an epiphany of Jesus. He will be a superimposition of appearance, an above manifestation of light. But this “proud Rahab” that was slain, was an above appearing as in superiority. Jesus has never “lorded over” his disciples. He shows himself or makes himself known, we then choose to follow. This “proud” or “Rahab” took an authoritative position over others. There is always a counterfeit to the genuine in the Bible. This is a great example of the counterfeit phainō obscuring and obstructing humans.

Who are we speaking of regarding Rahab, or proud? We are speaking of heavenly sons of God. Maybe more specifically the satan and those who rebelled with him. We will learn more regarding the satan shortly.

Interestingly, we see one of the sub usages of Huperēphanos in speaking about the giants. The word here is translated “exceedingly tall or of great stature”. But used here in Numbers it suggests “over appearing”, as in “dominance”. The Canaanites were not necessarily proud, but they appeared big and scary. Even though they may have been big, they were not necessarily dominant. It is an eminence front. They look intimidating.

Numbers 13:32 G2532 And G1627 they brought G1611 an astonishment G3588 of the G1093 land G3739 of which G2679.2 they surveyed G1473 it G4314 to G3588 the G5207 sons G* of Israel, G3004 saying, G3588 The G1093 land G3739 which G3928 we went G1473 in it G2679.2 to survey -- G1093 [2a land G2719 3devouring G3588 4the ones G2730 5dwelling G1909 6upon G1473 7it G1510.2.3 1it is]; G2532 and G3956 all G3588 the G2992 people G3739 whom G3708 we see G1722 in G1473 it G435 [2men G5244.6 1 are exceedingly tall].
  33 G2532 And G1563 there G3708 we saw G3588 the G1095.2 giants; G2532 and G1510.7.4 we were G1799 [3in the presence of G1473 4them G5616 1as G200 2locusts]; G235 yes, G2532 even G3779 so G1510.7.4 we were G1799 in the presence of G1473 them.

The idea of huperēphanos connecting a possible place like Rahab to  giants gives us another clue. We are not suggesting prideful humans. but instead prideful heirs of fallen heavenly beings, the giants. Why were they proud? Did the the Nephil believe they were better than regular humans? We see this come up again in 1 Chronicles.

1 Chronicles 20:4 And it came to pass afterward that there was again war with the Philistines in Gazer: then Sobochai the Sosathite smote Saphut of the sons of the giants, and laid him low.
5 And there was war again with the Philistines; and Eleanan the son of Jair smote Lachmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, and the wood of his spear was as a weavers’ beam.
6 And there was again war in Geth, and there was a man of extraordinary size, and his fingers and toes were six on each hand and foot, four and twenty; and he was descended from the giants. 7 And he defied Israel, and Jonathan the son of Samaa the brother of David slew him. 8 These were born to Rapha in Geth; all four were giants, and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.

1 Chronicles 20:6 G2532 And G1096 came to pass G2089 yet again G4171 a war G1722 in G* Gath, G2532 and G1510.7.3 there was G435 [2man G5244.5 1an immense], G2532 and G3588   G1147 his fingers and toes G1473   G1803 were six G2532 by G1803 six -- G1501 twenty G2532 and G5064 four; G2532 and G3778 this one G1510.7.3 was G581.1 a descendant G3588 of the G1095.2 giants.

“Immense” is huperēphanos, but not simply in the sense of “large” but in the sense of “over appearing, or intimidation”. This giant with twenty four digits appeared overbearing. However, as we see here in Chronicles there were several wars with the giants and several regular people killed these huperēphanos. We are seeing a pattern here. The beings spoken of are the half breeds, giants. The giants are proud. Giants intimidate. Giants can be overcome.

In Job 38, we see after Elius was finished speaking, the Lord spoke to Job through the whirlwind (Ophan) and clouds. Yahweh asks a lot of questions of Job. Yahweh asks Job if he broke the arm of Rahab. In other words Yahweh did break the arm of Rahab.

Job 38:15 G851 And have you removed G1161   G575 [3from G765 4 the impious G3588 1the G5457 2light], G1023 [3 the arm G1161 1and G5244 4of the proud G4937 2broke]?

The Lord removed the irreverent, impious, wicked, asebēs, light, radiance, luminousness, phōs, and completely crushed and shattered, the strength of Rahab, huperēphanos. This is interesting as huperēphanos is “above light or appearing”, and the Lord removed the wicked light by shattering the above light. If we remember our last two studies, the satan is an incorporeal being, light, or a borealis. Yahweh is saying that he removed the wicked incorporeal satan by crushing the above light. Yahweh broke planet Rahab to remove the satan.

The planet Rahab was a place where Ezekiel explains in a parallel between the king of the rock in Phoenicia and the satan, that the planet became violent due to the merchandizing of the beings there. The ruler on Rahab, the satan, defiled his sanctuaries with sin by the multitude of sinful traffick. What is sinful traffick? Anything that violates another. The parallel of the place of the rock and Rahab have the same problems due to the same spiritual ruler.

Job gives us such great information. Remember who the antagonist is in this story, the devil. He is behind the scenes and Job does not see him, nor does Job know the devil is allowed to harm him. Job mistakenly believes that Yahweh is harming him. The angels of God are also behind the scenes. As a comparison, Jesus came and exposed the works of the devil, in real time, in front of all the people of Israel. Job did not understand what was happening until Yahweh told him.

Job 40:1 And the Lord yet again answered and spoke to Job out of the cloud, saying
2 Nay, gird up now thy loins like a man; and I will ask thee, and do thou answer me. 3 Do not set aside my judgment: and dost thou think that I have dealt with thee in any other way, than that thou mightest appear to be righteous? 4 Hast thou an arm like the Lord’s? or dost thou thunder with a voice like his? 5 Assume now a lofty bearing and power; and clothe thyself with glory and honour. 6 And send forth messengers [angels] with wrath; and lay low every haughty one. 7 Bring down also the proud man; and consume at once the ungodly. 8 And hide them together in the earth; and fill their faces with shame. 9 Then will I confess that thy right hand can save thee.

This is what the Lord did. The Lord thunders, the Lord has a lofty bearing and power, dunamis, and is clothed with glory and honor. The Lord sent forth angels in anger to lay low the haughty one. Note here the verse number differences.

Job 40:11 G649 And send G1161   G32 angels G3709 in anger, G3956 [3all G1161 1and G5197 4 the arrogant G5013 2humble]!

The Lord sent out the angels to humble the abusive maltreaters. Yahweh sent the angels to war against who? There are still abusive violent people on earth today. Yahweh sent the angels out against other heavenly beings who were violent and abusive. What did we just read in Job 38? The Lord removed the satan and the beings he coerced to follow him by destroying the place they inhabited, the place Ezekiel says was full of trafficking and merchandising. Yahweh then extinguished the above appearing light. Notice the word “man” is not in the text.

Job 40:12 G5244 [3 the proud man G1161 1And G4570 2extinguish]! G4595 [2cause 4to rot G1161 1and G765 3 the impious] G3916 immediately!

Yahweh extinguished the above light, the planet of the proud, Rahab. Then the ungodly wicked were corrupted and perished on the spot. What were these impious beings doing on this planet? They were merchandising other beings, enslaving them, buying and selling them. They all must have been pretty proud of running this planet apart from the Lord Most High. They were led by the satan and by their sins they were corrupted.

We have been looking at the incorporeal satan. The Lord then goes on in his questioning of Job to describing the devil. Yahweh is asking Job if he can catch the devil with a hook and bridle him like a horse or an ox. The parallel here is the comparison of the devil as a giant sea dragon.

Job 40:20 But wilt thou catch the serpent [dragon, drakōn] with a hook, and put a halter about his nose? 21 Or wilt thou fasten a ring in his nostril, and bore his lip with a clasp?

This is rather sarcastic, and amusing. Think about this, can we catch the devil? If we could, would he speak softly to us and become our servant?

Job 40:22 Will he address thee with a petition? softly, with the voice of a suppliant? 23 And will he make a covenant with thee? and wilt thou take him for a perpetual servant?

Will he be our pet?

Job 40:24 And wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or bind him as a sparrow for a child?

No, he would not be our pet. Neither can the mighty seafarers, the Phoenicians (Philistines), catch him, and share his meat.

Job 40:25 And do the nations feed upon him, and the nations of the Phoenicians share him? 26 And all the ships come together would not be able to bear the mere skin of his tail; neither shall they carry his head in fishing-vessels. 27 But thou shalt lay thy hand upon him once, remembering the war that is waged by his mouth; and let it not be done any more.

No one can catch him.

Job 41:1 Hast thou not seen him? and hast thou not wondered at the things said of him? Dost thou not fear because preparation has been made by me? for who is there that resists me? 2 Or who will resist me, and abide, since the whole world under heaven is mine?

Yahweh is saying: ‘Haven’t you seen him Job? Haven’t you wondered why I would make such a monster that no one can catch or tame? Shouldn’t you fear me Job? Who can resist me Job? All things under heaven are mine. Job you should pity his enemies’. Yahweh then goes on to explain the devil’s appearance.

Job 41:3 I will not be silent because of him: though because of his power one shall pity his antagonist. 4 Who will open the face of his garment? and who can enter within the fold of his breastplate? 5 Who will open the doors of his face? terror is round about his teeth. 6 His inwards are as brazen plates, and the texture of his skin as a smyrite stone. 7 One part cleaves fast to another, and the air cannot come between them. 8 They will remain united each to the other: they are closely joined, and cannot be separated.

This is an interesting description of the devil, as a serpent or fiery serpent type reptilian. The devil seems similar to the Chalkydri, Phoenixes, and the Seraph. He sneezes light, or fire. His eyes look like the morning star, Venus.

Job 41:9 At his sneezing a light shines, and his eyes are as the appearance of the morning star.

If we remember our study on the satan, he was a light bearer and the evening star, Hesperus. Jesus is the bright and morning star, Phosphorus. Think of the enormity of the devil in comparison to the satan. The devil has light when he sneezes. His eyes are like Venus. When Venus is seen in the morning it is very bright and extremely intense.

Obviously, at present we do not have an earth animal that sneezes fire or light. Was there a previous earth age with this kind of animal? Maybe, but Job would not know about this. Was there a previous spiritual earth age where this dragon resided? Probably. This has to be something Job is at least partially aware of. It is a description of the heavenly constellation Draco. If Draco were to sneeze, it is like sending out a shooting star/planet  like Venus from the head of Draco. Job would have understood that parallel between the constellation of the dragon/Draco and the devil. E.W. Bullinger explains how the pole star used to be in Draco over five thousand years ago. This is a clue as to our timing.

“There is also another change taking place owing to the slow recession of the pole of the heavens (about 50” in the year); so that while Alpha in the constellation of Draco was the Polar Star when the Zodiac was first formed, the Polar Star is now Alpha in what is called Ursa Minor. This change alone carries us back at least 5,000 years.”
Bullinger, Ethelbert. The Witness of the Stars (Kindle Locations 224-227). Waxkeep Publishing. Kindle Edition.

“When these constellations were formed the Dragon possessed this important point, and the star α, in Draco, marked this central point. But, by its gradual recession, that point is sufficiently near this star Ruccaba, in the Lesser Sheepfold, for it to be what is called “the Polar Star.” But, how could this have been known five or six thousand years ago? How could it have been known when it received its name, which means the turned or ridden on? That it was known is clear: so likewise was it made known in the written Word that the original blessing included not merely the multiplication of the seed of faithful Abraham, but it was then added, “And thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies” (Gen. xxii. 17).”
Bullinger, Ethelbert. The Witness of the Stars (Kindle Locations 1841-1846). Waxkeep Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Understanding the shifting in the precessional cycle from the age of Draco to the age of the Lesser Sheepfold (Abraham’s heirs) we can make sense of the timing of the breaking of Rahab. The entire story written in the heavens has not concluded, we have several events that will take place in the future before the devil and the satan are exterminated by Yahweh.

“§ 3. DRACO (The Dragon). The Old Serpent, or the Devil, cast down from Heaven, Each of the three great books concludes with this same foreshowing of Apocalyptic truth. The same great enemy is referred to in all these pictures. He is the Serpent; he is the Dragon; “the great dragon, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan” (Rev. xii. 9). The Serpent represents him as the Deceiver; the Dragon, as the Destroyer. This First Book concludes with the Dragon being cast down from heaven. The Second Book concludes with Cetus, the Sea Monster, Leviathan, bound. The Third Book concludes with Hydra, the Old Serpent, destroyed. Here, at the close of the First Book, we see not merely a dragon, but the Dragon cast down! That is the point of this great star-picture.”

The stories of past earth ages are written in the stars, along with our present story in the age of humankind. Let’s continue reading what Yahweh says about the dragon.

Job 41:10 Out of his mouth proceed as it were burning lamps, and as it were hearths of fire are cast abroad. 11 Out of his nostrils proceeds smoke of a furnace burning with fire of coals. 12 His breath is as live coals, and a flame goes out of his mouth.

We haven’t seen a reptile like this in the age of humankind, the last six thousand years. Again Job would have understood this as the dragon constellation, Draco.

Job 41:13 And power is lodged in his neck, before him destruction runs. 14 The flesh also of his body is joined together: if one pours violence upon him, he shall not be moved. 15 His heart is firm as a stone, and it stands like an unyielding anvil. 16 And when he turns, he is a terror to the four-footed wild beasts which leap upon the earth.

This dragon, the devil, is strong, inside and out. He scares animals. He is not concerned with any physical weapon man can make.

Job 41:17 If spears should come against him, men will effect nothing, either with the spear or the breast-plate. 18 For he considers iron as chaff, and brass as rotten wood. 19 The bow of brass shall not would him, he deems a slinger as grass. 20 Mauls are counted as stubble; and he laughs to scorn the waving of the firebrand. 21 His lair is formed of sharp points; and all the gold of the sea under him is an immense quantity of clay.

This beast might remind us of the fictional character Smaug. He is reptilian as he resides on land or water. There are more parallels here. We are speaking of a serpentine being and the devil. A ruler from a past age and the ruler of the cosmos in this age.

Job 41:22 He makes the deep [abyss, abussos] boil like a brazen caldron; and he regards the sea as a pot of ointment, 23 and the lowest part [infernal region, tartaroō] of the deep [abyss, abussos] as a captive: he reckons the deep as his range.

This dragon is so big the abyss (the place of the king of the abyss, Apollyon/Abaddon/Gog) and tartarus (the place of the imprisoned rebellious sons of God) are both captive by him. This area is the devil’s area. The devil is the ruler of this underworld, tartarus and the abyss. He is the god of this world.

Job 41:24 There is nothing upon the earth like to him, formed to be sported with by my angels. 25 He beholds every high thing: and he is king of all that are in the waters.

The dragon/devil was formed to be sported with. The angels compete with him, play with him. This is an interesting concept. The competition may be more like a chess match than “Chutes and Ladders”. This is a game of strategy rather than a game of chance. What does gameplay do? It sharpens one’s mind, it sharpens one’s skill. It teaches one to strategize like as in The Art of War. The angels are warring, remember Daniel 10? This is a parallel to our own lives. While the angels are working on a game plan in the heavens, we are working on a game plan on the earth. We learn to contend or as Paul says strive for the masteries, 2 Timothy 2:5 and 1 Corinthians 9:25. We learn to strive lawfully. We learn to endure hardness. We bring our body into subjection. This means we actually train, not simply pretend by shadow boxing. This is the purpose of the devil. The angels train and we train, that is the parallel. If we don’t know there is a boxing match going on we will simply get hit over and over. Sooner or later we will have to learn to hit back.

The dragon is such an interesting being. He is very large, he breaths fire. No one can harm him. He seems to be an individual, in his own class. If we remember where we started in this section of Job, Yahweh sends his angels in anger to humble the arrogant and proud Rahab. The angels do not humble the dragon, but instead compete with him. Remember, in Job’s story the devil is behind the scenes. Job does not know that the devil is accusing him and contending for his soul.

The dragon has a purpose and an end. This is an end-of-the-age type prophecy. Isaiah says that the people of Israel have been afflicted, but they brought forth salvation, a savior. Then one day the dead shall rise and Yahweh’s people will enter into their heavenly chambers until Yahweh’s anger passes. This is the tribulation period, the wrath of God.

Isaiah 26:19 The dead shall rise, and they that are in the tombs shall be raised, and they that are in the earth shall rejoice: for the dew from thee is healing to them: but the land of the ungodly shall perish. 20 Go, my people, enter into thy closets [secret chamber, tameion] shut thy door, hide thyself for a little season, until the anger of the Lord have passed away. 21 For, behold, the Lord is bringing wrath from his holy place upon the dwellers on the earth: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall not cover her slain.
27:1 In that day God shall bring his holy and great and strong sword upon the dragon, even the serpent that flees, upon the dragon, the crooked serpent: he shall destroy the dragon.

There is a parallel here to proud Rahab. The ungodly will be punished in Yahweh’s anger. The wrath of the Lord will come upon those who are left on the earth and the earth will be bloody with the bodies of the slain. Who is going to fight the dragon, the serpent? The Elohim, the Godhead. He will destroy the dragon. The humans can’t destroy the crooked serpent, the dragon. The other heavenly beings are not going to destroy the dragon, the devil. The Lord broke Rahab and the Lord will break the earth. At the end of the age there will be a new heaven and a new earth. If it happened to Rahab it can happen here.

Dead Sea Scrolls FR. 15 … [Thou dost rule the rag] ing of the sea; 5 Thou stillest its waves. [Thou didst crush Rahab like a carcass, Thou didst scatter Thine enemies with Thy mighty arm] (Ps. lxxxix, 10– 11). [The world and] all that is in it, Thou hast founded them (ibid. 12). Thou hast a [mighty] arm; strong is Thy hand, high Thy right hand (ibid. 14) [For who in the skies can be compared to thee,] my God? And who among the sons of ‘gods’ and in all [the council of the holy ones? … … For Thou] art the glory of its majesty. As for me, Thine anointed one, I have understood … [I will make] thee [know] n, for Thou hast made me know; I will have insight, for Thou hast given me insight … For on Thy name, my God, we shall call, 10 and [we shall wait] for Thy salvation. And they will put it on like a garment and like a dress …

Just like proud Rahab was crushed like a carcass, the proud on earth will be crushed on the day of the Lord. While there may be some men who are proud, there are heirs of the fallen angels on the earth who are proud. Who will suffer during the tribulation? The proud, the rejecters of Jesus the Messiah. The children of the Most High God will be harpazo’d just as Isaiah 26 describes. The Day of the Lord will be the reckoning.

Isaiah 2:12 G2250 For the day G1063   G2962 of the lord G4519 of Hosts G1909 is upon G3956 every one G5197 insulting G2532 and G5244 proud; G2532 and G1909 upon G3956 every one G5308 high G2532 and G3349.2 elevated -- G2532 and G5013 they shall be abased;

On the Day of the Lord the world will become desolate. Both the literal stars and constellations, and the heavenly beings will not give their light. Again Isaiah explains.

Isaiah 13:9 For behold! the day of the Lord is coming which cannot be escaped, a day of wrath and anger, to make the world desolate, and to destroy sinners out of it. 10 For the stars of heaven, and Orion, and all the host of heaven, shall not give their light; and it shall be dark at sunrise, and the moon shall not give her light. 11 And I will command evils for the whole world, and will visit their sins on the ungodly: and I will destroy the pride of transgressors, and will bring low the pride of the haughty [5244]. 12 And they that are left shall be more precious than gold tried in the fire; and a man shall be more precious than the stone that is in Suphir. 13 For the heaven shall be enraged, and the earth shall be shaken from her foundation, because of the fierce anger of the Lord of hosts, in the day in which his wrath shall come on.

Whoever survives the Day of the Lord will be refined and more precious than gold. The Lord of Hosts, Yahweh Sabaōth, will cleanse the human race and the fallen highbred race like he cleansed Rahab. That is the parallel here. As we saw from Job 38:15, Yahweh removed the impious or wicked light, the satan, by crushing the above light, proud Rahab. As we know, the devil and the satan will both be bound for one thousand years. After one thousand years the satan will be loosed, but then destroyed in the lake of fire.

After Bildad speaks, Job rhetorically asks who makes the Pleiades, Hesperus, and Arcturus.

Job 9:9 Who makes Pleias, and Hesperus, and Arcturus, and the chambers of the south. 10 Who does great and unsearchable things; glorious also and excellent things, innumerable.

The Pleiades is a cluster of stars in the constellation of Taurus. It is the mount of the congregation. The place the sons of God meet with the Lord. This is a place of regularly scheduled meetings and the place it seems the satan wanted to put his throne, so that he could be a judge over the heavenly sons of God.

“Then there is the cluster of stars known as the Pleiades. This word, which means the congregation of the judge or ruler, comes to us through the Greek Septuagint as the translation of the Hebrew כימׇה, Chima, which means the heap or accumulation, and occurs in Job ix. 9; xxxviii. 31, 32, and Amos v. 8. It consists of a number of stars (in the neck of Taurus) which appear to be near together. The The brightest of them, marked η in all the maps, has come down to us with an Arabic name— Al Cyone, which means the centre, and has given the idea to some astronomers that it is the centre of the whole universe. The Syriac name for the Pleiades is Succoth, which means booths.”

Hesperus, as we have studied, is Venus in the evening, the evening star falling. It is the story of the satan.

Arcuturs is a decan of Virgo, also known as Arctophylax or Bootes. Arcturus means He cometh. This constellation is a parallel to Jesus, the one who is coming to judge the earth.

“§ 3. BOOTES (The Coming One). He cometh. This constellation still further develops this wondrous personage. He is pictured as a man walking rapidly, with a spear in his right hand and a sickle in his left hand. The Greeks called him Bo-ö-tes, which is from the Hebrew root Bo (בוׄא, to come), meaning the coming. It is referred to in Ps. xcvi. 13:— “For He cometh, For He cometh to judge the earth; He shall judge the world in righteousness, And the people with His truth.” It is probable that his ancient name was Arcturus (as referred to in Job ix. 9), for this is the name of the brightest star, α (in the left knee). Arcturus means. He cometh. The ancient Egyptians called him Smat, which means one who rules, subdues, and governs. They also called him Bau (a reminiscence of the more ancient Bo), which means also the coming one.”

After Job and his friends discuss the possible reason he is in this awful predicament, Yahweh comes to chat. Job understood some things, but not all things. The Lord adds a bit of informational knowledge for Job.

Job 38:31 And dost thou understand the band of Pleias, and hast thou opened the barrier of Orion? 32 Or wilt thou reveal Mazuroth in his season, and the evening star [Hesperus] with his rays? Wilt thou guide them? 33 And knowest thou the changes of heaven, or the events which take place together under heaven?

Job had a few things to learn, but then so do we all. The word Mazzaroth means “a garland of crowns”. It is the twelve constellations that the sun moves through. Each constellation has three decans which help to tell the story of the gospel. The problem that we have in our day is that astrologers are using sky charts from before the first century, about 300 BCE. Because of the processional rewind, we are about 2300 years off. This means that the constellation that the sun was in on the day of our birth may be incorrect. It may be the previous constellation. To see for yourself, download Stellarium: https://stellarium.org  Change the settings for the location where you were born (left side bar, location), then add your birthdate (left side bar, date and time). Where was the sun? Where was the moon? Is it different from what the newspaper astrology dates tell you? The Mazzaroth tells us more than we realize.

Orion is the story of the coming Prince, Jesus. Orion is one of the easiest constellations to locate in the night sky.  Orion is a parallel to Jesus. E.W. Bullinger says this:

“§ 1. ORION (The coming Prince). Light Breaking Forth in the Redeemer. This picture is to show that the coming one is no mere animal, but a man: a mighty, triumphant, glorious prince. He is so pictured in the ancient Denderah Zodiac, where we see a man coming forth pointing to the three bright stars (Rigel, Bellatrix, and Betelguez) as his. His name is given as Ha-ga-t, which means this is he who triumphs. The hieroglyphic characters below read Oar. Orion was anciently spelt Oarion, from the Hebrew root, which means light. So that Orion means coming forth as light. The ancient Akkadian was Ur-ana, the light of heaven. Orion is the most brilliant of all the constellations, and when he comes to the meridian he is accompanied by several adjacent constellations of great splendour. There is then above the horizon the most glorious view of the celestial bodies that the starry firmament affords; and this magnificent view is visible to all the habitable world, because the equinoctial line (or solstitial colure) passes nearly through the middle of Orion.”

Actually none of us know all of the events that have taken place under heaven. We barely scratch the surface with our understanding of the sons of God and what took place before the adam was created. Job is one of the best books to read to understand our predicament in a spiritual world. To make sense of our world we have to understand the sons of God loyal to Yahweh as well as the rebellious sons of God. There are many parallels given to us for our understanding.

Let’s think back to where we started. Psalm 89 tells us that the truth is established in the heavens. The truth is also in the ekklesia, the called out saints. The Godhead is glorified in the counsel of the saints. No one is like Yahweh Elohim of the Forces, dunamis. Yahweh sent his angels to humble the proud Rahab. The Lord also removed the wicked incorporeal satan light by shattering the above light, Rahab. Yahweh extinguished the above light, Rahab. Yahweh explains the dragon/draco, the devil, to us and how no one can tame him. The angels sport and contend with him, and so do we. The Godhead, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, will destroy the dragon, draco, the devil, with a strong sword at the end of the age.
